Currently the sickest I have ever been in my life after having the Pad Thai last night.

First of all, our apologies to Bobby and Victoria for this review being posted a bit late! My wife and I came into SF for the weekend to see a Beatles tribute band at the Palace of the Legion of Honor. Our hotel was close by on Lombard, and we asked the proprietors' for lunch recommendations after we checked in. We walked East on Lombard and chose Phat Thai. The space was open but still cozy. The decor was lovely and it was nice to see that the multiple TVs were all tuned to cooking and food travel shows, which enhanced the ambience. I noticed a neon sign over the bar that said: "Wanna Tuk With Us?", and as a Lego fan, I asked the owner, Bobby, if he knew that Lego had released a great little set of a Tuk Tuk. He said, "No, but I'm going to get one now!" I showed him the picture and we got to chatting. Bobby was a delight, and so was our server, Veronica. We ordered a couple of cocktails and they were both delicious! The Chicken Satay and Fresh Rolls starters disappeared quickly. We appreciated that the peanut sauce was not overly sweet and more savory. I got the Ka Pow with shrimp, and my wife got a curry also with shrimp. Both dishes were delicious, and we enjoyed more conversation with Bobby and Victoria. It was a quiet afternoon, so they had the time to chat more and to our delight, Bobby offered us a slice of cheesecake on the house as they had overheard us talking about plans for my wife's birthday in January. Such a sweet gesture, and wow, Bobby's mom makes an awesome cheesecake. Light but creamy, and cheesecake is my fave-rave. We had enough food left over to have after we got back to our hotel room after the concert, and it really hit the spot the second time around! Thank you so much, Bobby and Victoria! I discovered this place on Blackbird and have only had great experiences. The owner of the restaurant is very nice and welcoming. The chicken pad Thai I've gotten is delicious and travels well for takeout. The portion is huge and I always get full after eating half of it. If you are with your dog there is even a cute table and chair outside. read more

Located nearby Cow Hollow, Phat Thai definitely has the foot traffic. We've been a few times for pick up, dine in, and ordering takeout! My first time there we picked up some mango sticky rice per suggestion from my friend and not only were they packed properly in secure takeout boxes, they were super warm and the rice still soft when we got home. The coconut milk that the sticky rice was in had the perfect sweetness balanced with the milkiness as the perfect topping for the rice. The mango sliced on top of the rice was very ripe and sweet; paired with the rice and milk tasted heavenly! This time we went, it looked like there was an event or something so most of the tables were taken; had we dined in, we may not have gotten a seat. Our second time there we dined in. There were many open tables at 7pm ish when we arrived and we were seated promptly; someone came to take our order shortly after. We ordered a peach drink from their alcoholic beverage menu, and a phat thai wings as starter. My friend ordered a duck fried rice and I ordered a pad thai. Their pad thai was so good!! It was saucy but not soggy and the beansprouts weren't overcooked, seemingly helping balance the otherwise heaviness of the entree. Portions were huge! We took the leftover wings home and I had leftover pad thai, which put together was enough for my lunch the next day! The third time, I ordered takeout! I ordered the same two dishes: phat thai wings and a pad thai! The wings didn't seem as saucy as they were at the restaurant, but still good nonetheless. The pad thai was still really good, but the steam from the box during transport sort of made the veggies soggy and the noodles were too wet at the top. It also didn't taste as well reheated so this dish specifically I think I would order in person next time. I think a curry or fried rice may have done better for take out. Overall, flavors were still good and if in a pinch, I would order takeout again, but definitely go in person first. Give them a try for sure! Though the place is smaller inside, we did not have to wait for a table, and I feel the flavors will taste significantly better in person! read more

Really good spot for Thai food! Great prices, really liked the panang curry and pad Thai. Only putting 4 because of the calamari, wasn't a huge fan but everything else from drinks to our dishes were delicious. The staff is also really nice and attentive, didn't get her name but she took really good care of us. They also have Chang beers which are my fav from Thailand! I recommend if you're in marina and craving Thai food! read more

This is a solid Thai spot that was reasonably priced. Tucked in the mission you can walk around and do some shopping and find a reliable meal here. Nothing bad to report, but nothing stellar stood out. read more

This place doesn't miss! Highly recommend trying the Boat noodles (braised beef noodle soup) and the fried chicken skin!! Great customer service! Bobby & Ashley are so nice as well as the rest of the staff! P.S. the restroom is always clean, which is a huge deal for me. I have not tried Phat Thai during their food truck days but I keep seeing them on my drive on Lombard so I decided to come here to pick up some dinner. The menu is small but has a good amount of appetizers, curries, noodles, rice plates, soups & salads, desserts & drinks. I ordered the chicken fried rice and the eggplant & tofu over jasmine rice. Both dishes were bomb!!! I would rank this on my top 5 favorite Thai food place! The fried rice was sooo yummy! The eggplant is filed with aromatic flavors from sweet, spicy, salty and the added dash of onions and basil. Sooo good and would definitely try to stop in more often! read more

The menu at Phat Thai was fabulous. I went there with the kid, they provided us a highchair. We started with spring rolls, a kid loved them and contimues asking more. I order lard na beef as it is my favorite Thai dish. The taste was authentic Thai food and delicious! Dessert, I had blueberries cheesecake, it was superrrr good. I personally do not eat cheese but this dessert made a combination of blueberries and cheese very well. I highly recommended this restaurant!!! read more

We got to try the: - Chicken satay - Fresh rolls - Calamari - Pad Thai - Pad See Ew - Pineapple fried rice - Green curry with beef - Tom Yum soup Every dish was well seasoned and not overly salty or greasy at all. Ordered the pad kee mao with extra chicken. When the dish came there was barely any chicken pieces in there, some shreds here and there. When I mentioned about it to the staff there, they rudely responded that's how it is there. Having eaten at hundereds of other Thai places, I can at least tell that's not a standard amount of protein for which they charged extra. This spot was just okay. They did get my order wrong, I asked for egg and instead received chicken. Normally this would have been fine except I was having the chicken icks that day and just the smell made my stomach turn. Food was fine, my issue was really with the service. Went to eat there Saturday afternoon with my girlfriend & we ordered two plates & an appetizer. Our whole hour there we were only served once to take our order, to drop off our food and once more just for a water refill without a single spoken word. Now, I try to cut everyone slack. I'm a server myself so I hold service to a high standard but this one felt almost personal..? The waitress was checking on everyone else but us, she never came to see if we were okay if we needed anything else & my girlfriend said she was looking at us too at times but just walked the other direction. In situations like these if a business is busy as hell it's understandable but it died down at a certain point. We waited like 8 minutes for the waitress to acknowledge that we wanted our check. My girlfriend had to raise her voice and ask for it. Waitress brought it over I told her I was paying with blackbird & she said "let me double check for you" she left for 6 minutes. We waited there like fools lol, till I was like okay I'm gonna go ask if we're good. She then said, yeah you guys are good. Transparency was lacking severely, because she never came back to tell us we're good, nor did she ever say thank you for coming like they normally do at sit down restaurants. & no, they were not that busy.. waitress was on her phone while we were just waiting for the word that we were closed out. Maybe it's because I had $0 tip on the blackbird app but I always tip with cash cause cash is king, though that's just an idea of what might've not made her want to come back. Regardless, I tipped $10 because I believe it could humble the service a bit. Hope the service can improve. read more

First timer here. My partner and I are on a mini vacation & are staying at a nearby hotel. Looked this place up and decided to give it a go. We ordered and what i thought i ordered was never brought. Instead I got the opposite of it. I ordered the chicken pad thai. Got the chicken Swekers!!!! I was waiting for my order but once she brought in my check I asked her for the order I originally asked. Her response was "I didn't hear you" very disappointed and left hungry. Took my 2 pieces of chicken and left. The person helping us at the pokemon machine was a delight. Thank you for being super awesome. But honestly I would triple check with the person taking orders. Disappointed that I didn't get to taste the pad thai. She asked to still make.it after 5 mins before closing. Yeah not going to make them make me a meal because of her lack of not paying attention. I don't often go to the Marina, but I will for Phat Thai! I've been going to their food truck for years and happy they finally opened up their own brick and mortar! They make amazing food, give outstanding service, and have such a welcoming space! We ordered thai teas, green curry, fresh rolls, pad ke mao (drunken noodles), and the som tum (papaya) salad. I was impressed the first time I dined at this restaurant when they first opened but now that they have expanded the menu on a few items I enjoy made this place hit a 5 star level. I came into phat Thai after a quick bike ride across the golden gate. The owners were very welcoming. I ordered the drunken noodles with beef and Tom yum soup Thai spicy. Absolutely delicious, perfectly cooked noodles, super spicy with lots of meat. 10/10 The Tom yum was delicious and spicy as well...perfect for a cold day by the ocean to warm me up. Standard thai food truck. Tried them out since our building provided us with a $5 lunch. Two people were working the truck but they managed to take care of orders smoothly. Got the chicken pad kee mao spicy. They've got various levels of spice that can be made with your food, put on the side, or both. I opted for a level 2 spice cooked with the meal, and a level 5 spice on the side. The ingredients used for each spice level is clearly labeled on the side of their truck in terms of Digimon. The ground chicken was flavorful and soft, the noodles were chewy, but there wasn't a lot of vegetables. The thai tea had a nice level of sweetness and creaminess that helped to quell the heat.
