They're horrible they tow my car and broke my right rear wheel it's not spinning and abs light on. A wheel locking + ABS light is mechanical failure, not coincidence. Rear wheel not spinning + ABS light = classic tow damage. If they'll not pay my damage. I will pursue my legal rights. read more

I can't thank Howe's Towing enough for "rescuing" me and my mom from 128 tonight after a rear tire blew out. It was terrifying being stranded in the breakdown lane during a snowstorm. If you could give this company less than 5 stars, we would. The staff are rude and treat their customers like they are crap. We have aaa and needed a tow. Aaa contracts out to this company After being notified they tow was there to pickup our car we stepped outside and failed to see them. Tried the other side to see if they were there, again not there. Tow truck drive calls, we state can you go to the office we don't see you. He asked if we are physically with car stayed in office where are you. Driver then leaves. When we search for tow truck which yields NOTHING. We call Howes directly. After finally reaching them the guy gives a rant that the driver was told to clear out by aaa. We tried to explain that we are in office, they need to return. The guy yelled used some unprofessional behavior. Said he's going to send driver in 5 minutes are you there Said yes in office. He laughed and snidely said call aaa I don't have to talk to you. When we called to speak to manager we were repeatedly hung up on or told to call aaa. We did call aaa, stated everything that transpired and they said they would send new tow and we DID NOT NEED TO BE WITH THE VEHICLE! They stole money as well as other items from my car. I had no choice in using them as the Wakefield police had called them to tow my car. I was only away from my car a few hours dealing with the police. I needed to go to the hospital and chose not too cause I didn't trust these people. They were very rude to me and refused to let my car insurance tow elsewhere. They did not take me seriously until I involved my father a retired military vet. read more

My Mini Cooper broke down on Nahant St in Wakefield. I called Howes and they did come quickly. The driver showed up in a pickup truck with a tow cradle on the back. It absolutely would have damaged the car. When I asked if he had a real tow truck (in my nicest voice) he took off. I was able to drive it home late night with flashers at no kidding 10 mph. Super unprofessional. AAA told me it would be 30-45 minutes so I took my young child a couple houses down to our apartment rather than wait in the cold. Surprise, he showed up in 5 minutes. Which is great, but he didn't call, I just got a text from AAA saying he was arriving soon, and when I rushed back there he yelled at me for not being standing right next to the vehicle. I apologized and tried to explain, but then I was told I better not "have an attitude" or he'd leave. He proceeded to smoke a cigarette while changing the tire, which I also found really gross and rude. He muttered swears to himself about me while working, along the lines of "f***ing c*** having a f***ing attitude with me" etc. Next time if they send this company I'll send them away and change my own tire. Howe's was extremely courteous from phonecall to towe. We were lucky enough to have Patrick be our guy. He was fast, prompt, and went wayyy above and beyond the typical service. We had a flat and no jack and were seven minutes from our daughter's preschool. Suffice to say we made it on time, and like I said, Pat was LEGENDARY. Our donut even needed air and Howe's got on the horn and Ser Shawn (Sean?) was here in no time to fill that sucker up. Need a tow? Call Howe's!! Howe's towing is great- after my car died at 6pm on a Thursday, I tried several other towing companies, but no one answered the phone. Totally a blessing in disguise! I hopped on yelp, saw they were close by and had great reviews... A driver showed up in less than 15 mins and was knowledgable, friendly, and managed to get my car on the flat bed without any issues despite the fact that my car was in a very wonky spot! They came as part of a AAA call this weekend for a flat tire. The guy came very quickly and was personable. That's the positive portion of this review. He tried to lower the spare from the bottom of my SUV. It didn't drop all the way and he said it's a problem with those old vehicles that they can get rusted up there and I'd need a tow. But he couldn't be the one to tow it. So he arranged through AAA another tow. Two hours later the second tow guy from a different company showed up, unscrewed the secondary latch from the spare tire, dropped the tire, and changed it. The driver pulled over to the side of the road and too lazy to get out of the truck he rolls the window down and He barks commands at me from his window telling me to drive my car down the alley way from behind the building so he can fill the tire with air. I politely explain the tire is completely flat and it needs to be changed and I'm not going to drive that far on the alloy rim. I told the dispatcher when I phoned in that the tow truck wouldn't fit down the driveway. The driver tells me to "hold on", rolls his window up leaving me on the side of the road. I waited 5 minutes and Then he drives off!!! He didn't say anything! He left! I called the dispatcher and they were also confused. They called the driver and in the end sent a completely different company out because the Howes driver refused to get out of the truck. I didn't call for air in a tire, I called for a tire change. This company exceeded all my expectations....... I Ran out of gas coming off 128 onto exit 42 in wakefield. My Car is dead and its 20 degress out...Howe's towing truck happened to be right behing me.(lucky me)..He pulled around an asked what was wrong, i told him i was out of gas.. He said stay in your car, i have a gas can in my truck and i will go to gas station and get you going ..... About 10 minutes later, another Howe's truck pulled up with different guy with a red container full of gas.. I asked what happened to the other guy(since found out his name was Joe) who left.. He said he got to gas station bu hist red can was missing so he radioed me to come help you out... These guys went above and beyond anything I could of expected.. Last Sunday I got a flat on the side of the highway (I-95) and called AAA. They sent a lovely gentleman named Allen from Howe's towing. He got there very quickly and was extremely helpful. He made me, a 20-year-old girl who knows next to nothing about cars, feel safe on the side of the highway and understand what was going to happen to my car. AAA had recommended a shop near where I was, but Allen (who clearly knew the area well) told me this place actually wasn't great and that there's a much better shop to go to, with nicer workers. We talked in the car ride over about life and his family, and he was SUCH a nice man! He recommended I even take a picture of my car on the tow truck to send to my boss, whom I had to tell I was going to miss work the next day (shops are closed on Sundays, so I was stuck in MA for the night). Allen was absolutely lovely, kind, and knowledgeable, and I couldn't have asked for an easier towing experience. Thank you, Allen! read more
