I live 20 miles away from this restaurant and go out of my way to come and order pork roll sandwiches. Not once but twice I have driven to the store ordered pork roll sandwich and the guy who runs manages owns I don't know doesn't know that they're out of it until he takes my order my money and then asked the guy behind the counter to fix it. One time I understand two times I do not understand. Obviously he has no control or knowledge of what goes on in his store. He is also out of tasty cakes and says it's due to bad weather in Philadelphia. I have a sister who lives in Philadelphia and I speak with her daily and the weather has not been that bad. The girl who works as cashier in the evenings is awesome and probably the best cashier I've met. Always friendly, always helpful. I love getting my Pizza steak (steak, tomato sauce, provolone) sandwich with a black cherry soda and some cheese fries. Consistently good. If you are a More than Waffles usual you should def. try this place out once in awhile. I know it has nothing to do with breakfast but it's good food!! I went in with my sister and we actually split a philly sandwich and it was more than enough. We ordered a veggie philly sandwich and I immediately knew the workers were judging me because of my poor judgement haha. Having been raised near Philadelphia, PA it's safe to say I know what an authentic Philly cheesesteak is. Philly's best is the closest thing to a Pat's/Geno's/Tony Luke's you'll find on the west coast. Everything from the meat, to the Amoroso roll & most importantly the option (though I don't recommend) use of cheese whiz-these cheesesteaks scream Philly. The Tastycake display on the counter is an equally impressive Philly touch. Being able to stop by here brings a little piece of home to the West coast. read more

I've been coming to Philly's best for a while already, and I have to say, that this place is as good as it gets in the LA area. I wouldn't say they are as good as the ones from Genos and Pats in Philly, but if you miss the delicious amoroso breads, and steak from downtown Philly, you won't be disappointed in these. Hell Noooo... I ordered a buffallo chicken sandwhich and what i got was absolutely rubbish. Omg how can you even imagine just cooking up chicken with lots of mayo, chipotle and cheese and shoving it in a piece of untoasted bread makes it the best philly sandwhich. It is very difficult for me to write this review. I've been going to the Philly's Best in Burbank for years (the week they opened) and I live in West Los Angeles! The food was spot on Philadelphia, from the cashiers to the food preparers, they were always a million times courteous, they knew Philly and we all talked often about it. Nice folks, nice atmosphere. So imagine my surprise when I find this Philly's best much closer to where I work. I went there hoping for the same, but the only good service I received was from the male preparer who kept apologizing. The cashier ignored me, and when I got home, the two bag of wise chips I ordered was not given to me. I was pretty mad leaving the establishment because the cashier had me on the "pay me no mind list". I cam in by myself and first stood in line in back of a mother and her teenaged daughter, they left, I moved up in line. And waited. And waited. And watch her leave the cash register so I asked was I in the wrong line and who would help me? The male food preparer called her back to tell her she had a customer. She responded that she thought I was with the other guy. I asked why would she think that -- he was ready to leave and I was still standing there!. Bad, bad customer service. And she assumed. It didn't matter, every customer should be asked if they were helped or not. But she had no problem helping the other people with a smile and an offer for a punch card. Let's summarize, I was ignored, didn't receive my chips and when I ordered, I ordered everything by brand name -- because I am a Philly/Jersey Girl.I know what it is, She seemed kind of off putting by me ordering by brands as well. I also had 10 Philly Best cards in my wallet, so it's not about the punches, it was about her being uncomfortable with me and giving bad customer service. Because she made me feel so uncomfortable, if I feel like a taste of Philly again in Los Angeles, I'll go to back to Burbank. read more

Loved this place! A friend brought me a hot Philly's Best chicken sandwich (chicken, cheese, sweet peppers, mushrooms and added grilled onions) from Encino for dinner one night. I know there are several of these franchises around the City. But their restaurant in Encino is quite typical of the others I've eaten at. And if you like Philly cheesesteaks, then this is the only place in town for you! Seriously, any other restaurant will not give you these authenticities! They even serve Amoroso rolls and everything is still delivered fresh from Philadelphia. Seriously the best in the west. I work nearby and I eat here often. The bread (Amorosa) is imported from Philly and is amazing. I could just have the bread by itself. The cheese steak is tops. I haven't been to Philly, but I've tried many places on the west coast and nothing else comes close. My usual 'go-to' is the Boar's Head turkey sandwich. Its delicious and healthy.
