Really great coffee! The barista was nice, and it was nice and quaint and quiet. I would love to come here when studying. It's a small indoor but when it's not busy it should be nice. I wouldn't say Id crave this coffee but it's tasty and when I'm around the area I'd be happy to come! The prices were off just a bit. Stages $4.50 with coffee, 0.80 for syrup and $1 for milk... should have been $6.30, maybe $6.90 at most with tax and I was charged $7.50...

Came here on a whim since I was already close by, and I absolutely loved the vibe of the place and the staff was friendly. I got the barista signature drink (I forget the name) but it was a matcha with Ube, so yummy!!! And an oatmeal raisin cookie, they even heated it up and put it in a little brown bag for me to take to-go.

As the old adage goes, "if you mess with the bull, you'll get the horns." That's exactly what I thought when I saw a bull fixture arrayed in the French tri-color prominently displayed on the front lawn outside this establishment. This, of course, immediately caught my attention and I had to investigate further! While there is no parking lot, street parking is available. I walked in and approached the front counter. The interior is pleasant, with multiple windows providing ample light, plants, and comfortable chairs. The menu offers an array of coffee, pastries, beer, wine, and breakfast and lunch items. As it was far too early in the day for an alcoholic beverage, I opted for an oat milk mocha. Wow! This was a creamy, flavorful, and satisfying drink made with care! If you're ever in San Antonio, you've got to try Philo!

TLDR: coolest, littlest coffeehouse in San Antonio! My friend lived in San Antonio for a few years during her college life, and she told me that Philo Coffee was a staple. I can see why! The ambiance is calm, the coffee is great, and the service was quick and friendly. Definitely the coolest, littlest coffeehouse I've come across! I decided to go with their homemade poptart and a shakealto! Both were great. It felt like every detail here is done with some form of care. Enjoy

Cute little coffee shop located down the street from San Antonio College. Offers a variety of coffee drinks and a limited food menu from toast bread to croissant sandwiches. Has a small indoor seating area and a nice size outdoor patio. Staff member at the time we visited was very friendly and patient with all the questions we had being our first time. Both the coffee and sandwich we had tasted great. Definitely a spot to make a stop at.

Hi Sarai! We use milking milk for our espresso based drinks but also have soy and almond milk available.

They were nice enough to warm the cookie for me, and it had that "fresh out of the oven" smell and gooeyness. They asked me if I wanted my drinks for here or to-go and I said for here and they still served me in to-go cups, which I thought was weird. The cortado was not my favorite. It was bitter and acidic and the foam was looking a little yeasty. The mocha latte also had very little flavor to it, tasting like hot milk. I had difficulty finishing both drinks. Later I noticed they were using What's Brewing beans, and it made sense. I know many folks love WB? coffee beans, as it's a bit of a local darling, but more often than not I don't enjoy cortados made with their beans. Dirty dishes and cutlery sat on a couple of tables long after folks had left. I don't want to make assumptions, because there WAS a designated staff member for cleaning/wiping things down, but maybe those two evaded her. There's a sign on the wall that says, "I'm not for everyone," and boy are they right. They also stopped playing one of my favorite Radiohead songs (right in the middle of it!) to play Teenage Dream by Katy Perry. Now while I'm not deducting stars for THAT (because that's just downright petty), I can't help but feel unimpressed by my most recent visit. At least the cookie was delicious. Perhaps a third visit is in order. As they say, third time's a charm, right?

The food was DELICIOUS! we couldn't have had a better experience anywhere. The coffee was to die for and we were sad we weren't taking up the opportunity for mimosas! We were told it would be a 30 minute wait and we could wait in the outdoor seating area. I didn't mind the wait but was hoping to order mimosas for while we waited BUT they don't allow that. Once we were finally seated, it was a table in direct sun at the kitchen entrance so we asked to move tables. They said it wasn't as easy as just moving us because we had already been assigned to our table through the ordering system. The use toast tan so you don't have a server and order everything on your own through an app (drinks, refills, meals, etc). I personally didn't like the system at all. The servers that delivered the food and drinks were very friendly but I can imagine the system isn't easy on them either. It took almost an hour for our food to come out and we had to ask that our order be checked on. Once requested, they brought it out (I think it had been sitting there and they forgot to bring it out). We ordered the following: - Orange mimosa: Tasted like straight juice - Apricot mimosa: Tasted like straight juice - Bloody Mary: Very good. Interesting that they use a wine based vodka for this - BLT: No condiments on the sandwich, very dry and not very tasty. Served with chips that tasted like they had been left out for days. - Turkey Club: Also very dry and the bacon was over cooked. Served with the same chips as above. - Candlelight Breakfast: The flavors were good but the food itself was cold. I would've usually request the issue be fixed but I was so hungry from the long wait. We all agreed we would never return and wouldn't order anything again except for the Bloody Mary.
