Love Philz coffee for the variety and the ability to customize very specifically how I like it. I prefer a creamier coffee so I particularly like the option to choose light or heavy milk when ordering. I use the app to order, which is very easy and convenient. It's also a pretty good predictor of how long it'll take to get my coffee. Plan to wait 10 minutes so order ahead. The only thing I wish for is some actual customer service. I finally made the trek to Philz after hearing so many people rave about it and I gotta say...I don't get it. I tried the Mint Mojito since that's what everyone talks about and it does taste like a mojito, just way too overpoweringly mint-y for me. And I love mint. I also tried the Better Dayz cold brew and while it was described as chocolate and cherry, it tasted like plain coffee with cream and sugar. If there's a Philz right by your apartment, it's probably a fine coffee shop to hit in the morning, but I would never go out of my way for it read more

Absolutely delicious coffee, cool decor and vibe, and the smells of freshly brewed coffee are amazing. But the parking really puts a damper on the whole experience. Don't bother ordering on the app; by the time you're actually able to find parking, your hot coffee will have cooled and your iced coffee will be watered down. They have a valet in the back of the shop, which A) I don't understand during covid and B) I'm not paying 2 dollars on top of an already top-priced cup of coffee. I usually have wonderful customer service at Philz. I don't know if the barista was having a bad day but he was so snappy with my friend and I. It was my first time at this branch and I was looking forward to a coffee. Usually the baristas ask the customer to try the drink and offers to make an adjustments after completion. Our barista only said "here is your drink." It's fine, I don't really care if they ask or not but I care if the coffee tastes good. We ordered a ginger snap iced coffee with cream and sugar and it was not sweet or creamy. My friend politely notified the barista that it wasn't to her satisfaction. He retorted with slight irritation "I put cream and sugar in it." He proceeded to "fix" the drink and returned it to my friend. Unfortunately it still tasted like the drink was not adjusted at all. I got out of my car and asked respectfully to see if my drink could be adjusted and I got the same irritated response, "I put cream and sugar in it." I told him that it didn't taste good and to adjust the cream and sweetness. He begrudgingly asked if I wanted it remade, which I agreed to. Then he told me to trash my drink, which I did. When I got my remake it was too sweet and too creamy, basically a "spite coffee". At this point I knew I wasn't going to get the service or beverage I wanted. I thanked the barista who didn't bother acknowledging my existence and left. My friend and I couldn't finish our coffee, it just tasted bad. I felt my friend and I kept our interaction with the staff professional and polite. I don't understand why we were treated this way. Yes, he offered to remake our coffee but I swear this guy was pissed at us for asking. Needless to say, I will not going to this branch in the future. 2 stars because he followed the service algorithm but definitely wasn't happy about doing it. read more

Unbeknownst to myself, they only do pour overs and I'm the last one to complain! Just walking in cause I needed coffee, I was hesitant at first knowing they didn't have traditional lattes/americanos. When they explained the concept I was immediately intrigued. I got a philtured soul, medium cream and sweet. Although my coffee wasn't as hot as I would have liked, it was a delicious traditional misto. Got a bag of beans to take home and excited to try their different blends. Then the other one reached in the pocket of her denim jeans when back on the line, grabbed a cup from the inside and continued to make coffees! Coffee is great and i come here all the time, so its a shame that the staff is so rude during these times when businesses are hurting for customers to keep them afloat. Tonight out of all nights i left my card at home so i tried to pay CASH only for the host to decline my payment. I insisted, which clearly bothered him, so he reluctantly accepted my money. When he went to the back to get my coffee, I could hear him complaining to his coworkers that i paid with cash. To top it all off he made me step outside for literally 10 seconds to "wait" for my coffee. Ridiculous customer service. As much as i love philz, i doubt ill be coming back. This review is long overdue. I have been a patron of the Studio City Philz location and in my years of coming here, I have NEVER had any issues. This location is conveniently placed outside the 101 Freeway exit which allows for easy arrival, a multitude of street parking on both sides and to top it off it has a wonderful environment. When studying or waiting for your coffee the workers are CONSTANTLY staying busy. Much respect for all the workers who move at a very very fast pace yet can provide friendly and very hospitable service to all its guests. To namedrop just a few of the workers who have my sincere appreciation, (and I apologize for misspelling names), are Eos, Hilisa, KT, and Haziel. If any of these people attend you consider yourself very fortunate and ready for a treat. The coffee is delicious, the smiles are genuine and the space is roomy. Lots of space to sit and do work, occasionally cold but hey bring a sweater! Music is always at a comfortable volume. Plentyyyy of outlets and USB ports. And it being a dog-friendly environment makes for a nice treat/break during a study grind. Not to mention bathrooms ALWAYS clean and ALWAYS stocked up. One negative review is far too many, this location does the most it can to work at a speedy, courteous, friendly, and respectful pace. I have gone to so many Philz in Los Angeles and this location tops them all, especially to do work and study. This place would not be the same if it were not for the staff, I apologize for those not mentioned but every worker here has my deep appreciation. I've been waiting for the day that a Philz would open up in the San Fernando Valley area, so this is my review for my first experience at this location (I have frequently visited the Fullerton location). Ordered a decaf mint mojito, sweet and creamy (I used to order regular coffee, but I steer away from caffeine on dry, cold days because it's dehydrating). The gentleman who helped me was nice, and he let me try my drink before I paid for it to ensure that I enjoyed it. The cashier was nice and cheerful as well. If nobody told me it was decaf, I wouldn't have known. It tasted the same. The drink was great! My only cons were that parking is just awful anywhere in Studio City and I finished the drink quickly, only to realize that 70% of it was ice cubes which sucks if you're paying $5 for a small drink and leaving a tip. read more
