Ordered ahead in the morning via mobile app and selected ASAP. Went to pick up and it was already past 20 minutes. My order was not ready. It was pretty empty in the morning. I was the only mobile order. Asked for my order and I saw employee quickly clicking the tablet, which in fact looked like he just clicked confirm order button. He just smirked, looked around and started making my order. It was not ready at all. No apology whatsoever. I waited another 10 minutes. At this point, what's the point of order ahead? People who ordered at the counter got their order first even those who arrived after me. When I asked employee upon getting my order, "did you forget about my order? Because I ordered at 9:35." She said "oh it says it will be ready at 10AM". Lady, I saw your coworker clicking confirmation button in front of my face. Plus, I selected ASAP button. Of course it will say 10AM bc you clicked confirm at 9:55. I ordered at 9:35AM. Is it that hard to accept your mistake and apologize? The quality of coffee is always on point, no complaints at all but quality of employees' attitudes and customer services are bad and low. TBH I have never experienced this at Del Amo location before. It was always great and employees and their customer service were always amazing but 11/5/25 morning crew, their attitudes need to be addressed. Loved my experience at Philz Coffee this morning in Torrance! My only previous experience was in Berkeley. It's no nonsense coffee! S, M, L - hot, cold - cream light to heavy - sweet light to heavy- roasts light to heavy. I just got iced black coffee light roast of New Manhattan. Very tasty! This Philz just opened and I was so excited! Philz is probably one of my favorite coffee chains and I'm so glad one opened in Torrance. I came on a Thursday afternoon after getting lunch with some coworkers. The inside has a super cute ambiance and a couple tables inside and outside to work at. It is also a lot more spacious inside than the one in El Segundo. The barista Irene was really kind when asking if we needed/wanted any adjustments on our drinks. As for the drinks, I got the Tesoro which is my go-to and it was great! So happy to have a Philz nearby now and will definitely be returning soon. read more

This location is incredibly slow. I tried to order ahead online but the app was having issues. I went inside hoping to get in and out of the store quickly however it took 10 minutes to even order though there was only 2 people in front of me with uncomplicated orders. Then, after ordering we waited TWENTY minutes for our drink...there was five people behind the counter and all of them looked busy but orders were coming out extremely slowly- maybe 1 drink every 5 minutes? For 5 people working back there....when I finally get my drink, it wasn't even made correctly. I know this location is new but this is unacceptable...when I asked if my drink was ready after waiting for 15 minutes, the blonde girl was very rude in her response. I waited 10 to 15 minutes for my mint Mojito, and the room was noisy with the coffee grinding noise. There was nowhere to stay close by, and the barista had a very low voice. I picked up the wrong drink, so that wasn't mine, but I quickly realized that there wasn't any cream on top of my drink, so I went back to verify if this was my drink; it turned out it was someone else and the barista to give me a dirty look and gossip about me with another person next to her. went to this location for the first time after visiting the one in manhattan. it's very spacious and has plenty of seating. service was super quick. i ordered a chai but i must've ordered it wrong because it did not taste that great. one thing i absolutely couldn't handle was how loud the music was, and it wasn't even relaxing music it was just radio songs. even through my headphones i was able to hear it. i had to leave after ten minutes of blasting music because i could not do my homework. read more

Good coffee, and I love the Bengals, but the service needs work. I work nearby and have had two bad experiences with customer service. First time, I ordered food on my 15-minute break and watched people who ordered after me get their drinks. After waiting around for 10 minutes, I had to go up and ask, only to find out they hadn't even started my order yet. Second time, the barista called my name, and I saw my bagel and a drink sitting there. I'd ordered both, so naturally, I thought it was mine. After having a wonderful experience at Philz coffee at the Manhattan Beach location, my wife and I went to the Del Amo location recommended but Christian (from the MB location) since it's just 2 miles from us in Torrance. The ambience is different from MB but just enjoyable in a different way. Both locations have outdoor seating as well as indoor seating. Del Amo location has a larger indoor area. Some customers are busy with their laptops, students I assume. Meanwhile my wife and I we were just hanging out enjoying time to ourselves and seeing how life will be when our only daughter enters her freshman year in college in August How time flies! The staff at both locations are quite friendly. This time I ordered the ice cold mint coffee. My wife had the Turkish coffee. The creaminess and uniqueness of the coffee makes it stand apart from other coffee shops. I enjoyed mine. My wife had wished for a more traditional Turkish coffee without the mint. The almond croissant was not the typical dry pastry I've come to expect! All in all I give both locations 5 stars! read more

Coffee here is pretty freakin good. I admit I was more of a Starbucks patron because it's close to work but I had seen this place open up and wanted to give it a try. Looking at the menu I like the simplicity of it and was curious to try everything. I also like the cups they use for the iced coffee. I get so annoyed of the condensation (from the clear plastic cups) getting everywhere I have to carry napkins around and make sure I'm not wetting every surface it touches. But this place has better cups that keep from too much water getting everywhere. So I really appreciate that. After I got my ice coffee the barista said if I didn't like it or needed a change in the coffee she would happily assist. Of course it was delicious so I thanked her and was off. 1. Coffee is great and tastes good. Especially when you find the one you like. But... DO NOT COME HERE IF YOURE IN A RUSH OR BEFORE WORK. They take FORVER to make their coffee. I've waited 20+ minutes for a coffee with only 3 people in front. Today I waited 17minutes and there was only one person before me and three baristas working. I asked about my order after 15 minutes and they haven't even started working on it. Saying it would be out in a minute. I've asked about their process and they've said it shouldn't take long even though it's a pour over coffee but somehow every time I'm here I'm waiting 10+ minutes even when it's not busy. The only time I feel like it's done a little quicker is when there is a line out the door. Maybe I'm just unlucky when I come to this location but it's not consistent enough for me to choose to come here over other places anymore. Ideal place when you have nothing going on and have plenty of time to kill but not a place that is a reliable quick "in and out" like most coffee shops. read more

First time I've been to this location and the barista seemed like he was just carelessly dumping water over the grounds and filling it to the brim. No bloom or care whatsoever. I thought the whole process and care of brewing of Philz coffee was the justification for such a high premium. Maybe the Philz process has changed, I don't know. My husband and I were so excited to have a Philz close to our home, we move from DTLA, to Torrance, because we loved the one in DTLA. And all the other Philz we've gone to. We had high expectations and though this was going to be wonderful. But this new location has horrible service and food is beyond bad. The lady taking our order was in her elbows taking orders, I mention it, saying tired? She said yeah! with an attitude, and still stayed on her elbows, I figure maybe she's hurt that's why she has to take orders this lazy way. I asked her for recommendations with the food and she did not want to deal with it. Got our order and I saw her walking around as if not hurt. So beyond disappointed of the service and the microwave sandwiches are nasty , sadly the overall experience left a bad taste in my mouth. read more

So happy that Philz came to torrance! Service is great. If you stay in the cafe, they ask you to taste it before putting the top on it to make sure you like it!! Bathroom is clean and has a baby changing station Plenty of outlets on the walls and tables with back supporting chairs. It's a great study spot if you don't mind the rush hour cafe sounds (it kinda echoes). I get cold easily but the temperature inside is comfortable. I been to almost every Philz Coffee in all of L.A. and for some reason this place could never get the ice mint mojito down. I've had to re-make it twice and it still tasted like coffee and ice water.
