Drinks: 2/5 I personally like strong phin drip with condensed milk as growing up in Vietnam, coffee here is way too blend - egg cream topping is not as expected - too light - taste like a sweet thick cream. I guess the coffee base is not phim dripped but instead it was from espresso machine or brewing machine? Came here at 2 pm on Sunday for the soft opening. Loved how much seating there was but for some reason had difficulty connecting to the WiFi. The girl and guy on both sides of me were having the same issues. One of the workers did come out and said they're working on getting another modem or something to put in the front for stronger Wi-Fi so maybe that was the issue. Got the pandan and ube coffee. I preferred the pandan but liked both. I'll try the milk teas next time. Also nice to know they have a few food items like bahn mi. Parking was easy. Overall really great location and space. I found a new spot near my house where I can get my daily caffeine dose :)). I've been looking for a place that makes both good coffee and good matcha for a long time. Most of the time, I prefer going to places that specialize in matcha, but I can say that Phin Cafe has pretty good matcha! The service is pleasant, and the people who work there are very sweet and always welcoming. The atmosphere is also very cozy and beautiful. Solid coffee and fun drinks! I tried the Affogato and the Mulberry Salted Lemon coffee for the first time. The Mulberry drink hit a lot of different notes and was a very fun medley of flavors. It was tasty and fun all at once, though not quite my style. The affogato was delightfully sweet and the coffee was a delicious bold blend that made a great drink! The staff were very kind and patient while we were deciding and gave us great recommendations regarding the menu's variety. The cafe is a fun and spacious location with plenty of seating and open enough that a lit of people can be chatting and it won't get so loud. Love this cafe and location! read more

I got to Phin Cafe on a Saturday with my family. When we arrived at 12:30 pm, the place was already packed. I ordered a drink first and then found a seat. The drink took about 15 minutes to be ready for pickup. I got the banana matcha drink, which was delicious. Of course, it was much better than the drinks at Starbucks. This is a great place to chat with a friend or study. There's plenty of seating inside, though it can fill up. They also have outlets in the walls so you can charge while studying or working. The ambiance is excellent. I got the egg coffee and ube coffee. I will say the ube coffee didnt have the most authentic and traditional vietnamese coffee taste. I'm not sure if that's what they're going for since their slogan is "tradition meets modern taste" but I was still surprised. However, the egg coffee for some reason was spot on. The drinks were a 3.5/5. As a normal coffee drink, it is good. The ube was slightly grainy but to me that indicates a more better flavor, and it was good. The egg cream was also good, I was hoping it to be sweeter and more creamy and less thick, but not a big deal. I have been to the fremont location and I preferred their coffee taste over this one. They did take a little bit long but I think if you're here to sit down and stay, that's not a dealbreaker. I was excited to try out Phin Cafe in Campbell, being a fan of their other locations. As someone that knows how sweet Vietnamese coffee can be, I got less sweet - but I don't think that's the right call for this location. My friend and I both got less sweet, but instead of being less sweet, the taste was unexplainably different. We weren't able to finish either drinks, as it didn't taste the same as the other locations. I hope it is a one-time fluke, but I'm not sure if I will return to this location given the experience. I would recommend just sticking to the default sweetness to be safe. The interior is really nice though, and despite the early morning (around 8am), the location was already busy with folks there either hanging out or working from home (wfh) with their laptops. Decent amount of parking spaces outside as well. read more

I think Phin changed their matcha brand because the color looks more vibrant now. The drink doesn't taste bitter anymore. I'm not talking about the coffee bitterness, but that lingering aftertaste the matcha used to have is gone. I'd recommend trying it and seeing for yourself. Phin is easily the best coffee place to go to in Campbell now. Not only is their drink menu incredibly deep, but the food offerings they have are fresher and nicer than Philz or Starbucks. The staff are incredibly nice and accommodating--they'll actually put your drink into your personal mug if you want, unlike some places. If there's anything to complain about, it'd be that they definitely cheapened out when it came to seating. Many of the tables are wobbly to the point of knocking over your drink if you aren't careful. Otherwise, it's a great spot to grab a drink to-go or get some work done. read more

I've been to phin cafe many times and their customer service is 10/10! Its usually busy on weekends so props to the workers for handling so many orders at a time. I just thought I'd come on here and say Michelle, I was there when you were asking about your drinks! You were extremely rude to the employees (who were already extremely busy by the way) when asking if your drinks were ready. Maybe next time, dont be so demanding and rude. It's also the first time I have seen a coffee flight! I liked the way the sweetness increased as you go down the flight depending on which one you start with first. Glad there's a Viet coffee place nearby so I don't have to go far for some native land coffee lol. They were doing soft opening when my partner and I stopped by and it was pretty packed but chill. Owner (I presume) took our order and was super nice with recommendations and asked where we found out about them. I look up places on Yelp when I'm craving since I'm pregnant lol and thankfully Phin popped up. He mentioned that they grind their own beans in house too which is super cool. Coffee was superb - we tried the coffee flight #2 with a black coffee, salted caramel, matcha cloud, and pandan coffee tastings. Coffee was deep, flavorful, and robust. Distinctive tastes and flavor profiles that even an amateur like me can taste. I usually don't even like black coffee but the one in the flight was really good, not bitter at all. The salted caramel tasted like the Starbucks drink but way better. The matcha was my favorite, pairing was airy and matcha was on point. Pandan one could've had more ?? in general, I just felt like it was missing something. Added a pandan waffle and it was alright. Feel like the batter is more Americanized as the waffle was light and airy, I'm just used to the east side waffle with a thicker chewier batter and stronger pandan taste. Got a hot milk tea to go with regular sugar and it was okay as well. Used to work at a few boba shops back in the day and I feel like the tea didn't mesh well with the milk which made the drink watery? Usually this happens if the tea isn't brewed strongly enough for the flavor to come through, but I feel like maybe the milk was the issue here? Because I could definitely taste the tea. It wasn't bad, just a lighter milk tea than I would've liked. Overall this is definitely a solid coffee spot. Lots of people relaxing, top notch atmosphere, not too loud, saw plenty of parking spaces as well. Would like to come back and try more from their menu. read more

I work just down the street, so I was excited to discover Phin Cafe. One of the things I appreciate most is that they open at 7:00 AM. As someone who starts work early, it's refreshing to find a specialty coffee shop that's open when I need it. Many mom-and-pop coffee shops don't open until much later, so their early hours are a huge plus. When I stopped by, there was no long line like mos popular coffee establishments, and I had my coffee and green pandan waffle in under five minutes. The coffee was strong, smooth, and absolutely delicious. The pandan waffle was also really good. I'll definitely be back for another one. The café has beautiful floor-to-ceiling windows that let in plenty of natural light, making it a great place to sit, work, or just enjoy your coffee. I also noticed they serve bánh mì sandwiches, and I'm looking forward to coming back to try one soon. This was a great first visit, and I can't wait to work my way through more of their caffeinated drinks. I love the open space ambiance of their new location! High ceilings, cute aesthetics, monstera shaped tables, lounging chairs, and spacious area all make for a beautiful space. I will say though that although I've been to their other location in Cupertino a number of times, I still find the menu very confusing. I wanted a hot drink when I came by yesterday but most their menu items are cold only. The way to know if it can be made hot is by the symbol next to the drink name. This eliminates like 65% of the drinks I can get. I ended up ordering the coffee with egg cream. After I ordered, the cashier told me it would be a small cup. Definitely smaller than I wanted. So I tried to find an alternative to order but we ended up just agreeing on just a cafe latte. The cashiers and servers are extremely patient and kind btw. It was just a little frustrating trying to figure out what I could order because I think what he was telling me was slightly different than what they tell me at their Cupertino location in terms of the smaller size coffee with egg cream. But again, their menu is a little confusing to me so maybe I'm confused again. :) I'd love to come back, but I probably just need to find my regular drink that I like that's hot and can made without sugar, regular sized, and with egg cream. read more

Waited over 30 minutes for our drinks. When I asked the barista if they were ready, he told us they were "almost ready," so we waited another 10 minutes. After all that time, we realized our drinks had actually been sitting on the bar the whole time--ready to go--even after we specifically asked about them. By the time we finally got them, the drinks were completely watered down from sitting there for so long. What made it worse is that they didn't offer to remake them or fix the situation. We were basically handed watered-down drinks that had been sitting out for the entire 40 minutes we were waiting.
