Coffee is good and flavorful. I just feel like it is overpriced for the amount of actual coffee you get. This is a once in a while treat for me. My go to is the coconut coffee.
Today, I went to Phin Cafe and it was overly crowded that made one of the customers cancel their order. I honestly can't blame the staff because of how overwhelmed they were in taking and preparing orders. I got the Pandan Waffle and it was too hard although the taste is still consistent. I think the problem is that they're prioritizing efficiency over quality of the food. Because then, more customers might end up canceling their orders. However, I see some customers asking the staff how their shifts are like right now and being understanding about the wait. If you're in a rush to get somewhere, keep in mind that it may take 20-30 minutes to prepare orders. That's what we were told.
I absolutely love this place!! So far have had their Egg Coffee, Lavender matcha, Banana Matcha & teriyaki spam musubi. The banana in the matcha taste like actual banana & i love that it doesn't taste super artificial. Wether it is/isnt, I do not know but I do know its yummy. Would recommend! They have seating inside but gets filled up pretty fast, anytime Ive came its busy.
Came here on a Saturday morning and it was pretty busy, possibly too busy for the amount of workers that were present but they all handled the orders in the timey matter and did their best, which you cant ask for any more than that. As someone who has been drinking Vietnamese coffee since I was 12 (Im much older now), I am very picky with my Vietnamese coffee. This place knocked it out of the park with their coffee as well as offering flavors that I never tried other than the original. The phin set I ordered is for dine in only and understandably so. The pandan cream topping was definitely new for me and I would give it the compliment of saying that it wasnt too sweet. Not pictured was the pandan waffle and the two pate chaud I ordered, which I ate before taking the picture, I am sorry. It might be on the pricey side but hoenstly these days, what isnt? Im not complaining, I would come back next time I am around the area. Lastly, I wanted to shout out the workers there on that day. You guys seemed understaffed and getting slammed, but everyone did their job and delivered.
I like the inside of this coffee shop. I feel like it's very charming and cute. They do offer the typical Vietnamese drinks like Vietnamese, coffee, egg coffee, and other teas. They also have food like banh mi available. The drinks here are around like 6 to 8 dollars depending on what you get. I know when I ordered I ordered an egg coffee and the egg coffee. It was good. It's strength is perfect for Vietnamese coffee I honestly don't really have much complaints. The service is also good. You could ask the staff any questions and they're happy to help. I think it's worth a try considering in this area, there's not a lot of amazing Vietnamese coffee shops or anything like that even just Boba in general there's not a lot of good options so this place is a good place to try if you're just stopping by.
The coffee is always amazing here at Phin Cafe. I had first gotten it when I was in San Jose for a wedding. And now whenever I'm in the Bay Area, I have to stop here for coffee and musubis! The service is always quick and easy, mobile order is always on time and we never have to wait long. The spot always has people chatting and hanging out. Ambiance is very cute and cozy.
Amazing!! Philz who? It's all about the PhiN! I would support this local coffee shop all the way. Hidden gem that glistens without having to gloat and brag. Just come in and taste the coffee. Coconut Coffee - nice, tasty, blended iced coffee with a nice reach flavorful, sweet taste. Was more of a creamy coconut taste present. Salted Coffee - iced. Hint of a salt. Tasted much similar to simple Vietnamese Coffee if you're seeking something simple, which is my usual. Nutella Banana Coffee- def tasted the banana in this one. Wasn't overpowering. Not a banana coffee person, just wanted to try it. Ordered drinks on their website for pickup.
I've never seen a bubble tea shop this cheap. I ordered my drink with no ice, and what I got was barely more than half a cup. Apparently, "no ice" here means "we're going to give you less product and keep the rest." I've been to plenty of other drink shops, and I have never seen one handle a no-ice order like this. Let's be realistic--bubble tea doesn't cost anywhere near what they charge to make. Yet this place somehow manages to nickel-and-dime customers over every last drop. It honestly feels like the owners are so focused on saving money that they've completely forgotten what customer service is supposed to look like. Money seems to be the only thing on their mind. Marked this place as never coming back. There are plenty of other bubble tea shops that actually give you a reasonable amount for what you pay.
Been a year since my last visit! Coffee is delicious and I needed it for my drive home especially to survive the traffic. I am looking at my old pic and it looked better but honestly probably because it was a diff barista.
Such a cute place and they have specialty coffees! Also the pandan waffle is my fav, I usually get the banana Nutella coffee and coconut slush one too!
Plenty of parking. No complaints AT ALL. Every table in here was occupied when I arrived. Ordering was quick and easy. I actually asked the cashier/ barista to recommend me a coffee (salted coffee). HELLAAA good. Bold and robust and perfectly paired with the salted cream. DEFINITELY coming back!
Got the "autumn" drink in March- got the corn milk coffee and looking forward to it because many says the coffee is strong. Well not this drink. Immediately you can see there is way more corn milk to coffee ratio and the coffee is weak for vietnamese coffee. The corn milk is tasty but it clashes with the coffee taste. This would've been better as a corn cream top. Not worth $9.40 despite being a decent large size.
One of the better Vietnamese coffee spots in the area! The coconut coffee and egg coffee are two of my top favorites. The egg coffee is perfectly sweet and creamy with the egg topping, kinda like custard. I love the coconut coffee, it only comes blended with coconut shavings. The staff is very nice and typically quick!
My friend and I were craving a sweet treat after lunch so since we were in the area, we decided to stop by at Phin Cafe. Phin Cafe is a small cafe located in a plaza by Ranch 99 in Fremont. It wasn't too crowded when I visited since it was a random weekday, but I imagine that there wouldn't be too much open setting on a weekend. I was excited to try the Pandan Matcha (50% sweet), but I felt that it mainly tasted like milk with some pandan flavor and very little matcha flavor on it. The matcha color wasn't super green so I left a bit disappointed. I remember coming here a couple of years ago where I tried their Sesame Rose Matcha and remember it being better. It was definitely a sweet drink, so I would opt for at least 50% sugar or less. I felt as though even 50% was sweet. Maybe the black sesame or rose syrup they use in the latte is already sweetened to begin with. This drink isn't too matcha forward either, but if you like black sesame and rose, it's worth a try. Note: there are a lot of rose petals that may come up in your drink. Unfortunately, I'm not a huge coffee drink so I've never tried their coffee, but they seem to specialize more in their Vietnamese coffee rather than their matcha drinks. I'm not sure if I would come back here often, but maybe if I was in the area. I would love to try their pandan waffle and coconut coffee if I come back next time. read more

Found this place 2 weeks ago and I've been back three times already! The coffee is a bit on the sweeter side, but they ask your preferred sweetness level. Whatever you do make sure to order a banh mi- my favorite is the grilled chicken. The masubis smackkkk 10/10 recommend! It's a cute stop to sit and eat or study. read more

I love this place! It's a place I take all my out of town friends and the ambiance is trendy. Lots of people working on their laptops there so may be hard to dine in. Their house specialties is what I usually order as its cold. Durian, coconut, egg I've tried them all except pandan. Consistent every time. The 'dine-in' coffee was cute, came on a tray with some crackers/bread. Highly recommend if you're looking for strong flavored viet coffee. read more

I will definitely return to try a different drink and update this review! DRINKS: I'd seen a lot of hype online so I was super excited. You can choose from a few different set drinks, or choose flavors to mix with either coffee or matcha. I chose the pandan + matcha. Pandan flavor was on point, but the matcha definitely needs work. You can see the dark green color in the photo below, the matcha lacked a stronger flavor and felt watered down. The coffee seems to be their specialty instead. PRICE: Each drink is around $6 - $7, so not a bad price for the Bay Area. LOCATION: It was super full on a Sunday afternoon with people studying and working. The space itself is quite small, so unless you're early or at an off-peak hour, be prepared to enjoy this to-go. Plenty of easy parking in their plaza lot. Looking forward to returning to try the coffee and have my mind changed! read more

I appreciate being able to order online and picking up. I got the strawberry matcha less sweet and I enjoyed it. I've had their egg coffee as well and it's delightful. Cute seating inside and a lot of parking in the complex. A good go to spot when I'm passing through. read more

I came to Phin Cafe on a Saturday around 1PM, and it was pretty busy! Drinks: - Egg Matcha Latte w/ Oat Milk: 4/5 Perfect amount of sweetness and good quality matcha. It was very tasty, but the matcha wasn't very strong. Service: The cashier was super patient with me and answered all of my questions prior to placing my order. It was my first time here and they gave me good recommendations too. Pricing: $$ Lowkey expensive for a bev, but it was yummy and I would get it again. Ambiance: Lots of people studying! Tables were clean. It seemed like the tables fill up quickly though so might be better to go earlier if you want a table. Parking: Good amount of parking in the parking lot. They have so many beverages and food that looks good on their menu. I will definitely be back to try everything! read more
I came here a couple days ago, on a Thursday afternoon. When I walked in, I was surprised to find it packed - almost all of the tables and seats were taken. I got a Pandan Coffee, less sweet. My family members ordered Egg Coffee, The OG, and Black Iced Coffee. I really enjoyed my drink. The coffee was definitely strong, which I liked, and it was actually less sweet. I find that some places still make their drinks pretty sweet even after adjusting the sweetness level. The pandan topping was creamy and subtle. I love pandan, so I wished the pandan was slightly stronger. It was still good, though. This cafe has a cozy, earthy ambiance with hanging plants and warm tones. This seems like a great place to do work (the wifi password is printed on receipt). Service was good. Our drinks came out fairly quickly after we placed our order. read more
What I ordered: -Pandan Matcha [3/5] _ This was my first visit to this Phin Cafe location, and I decided to try the pandan matcha. Honestly, the drink was just okay; I couldn't really taste both flavors as it mostly tasted like a regular matcha latte. I probably wouldn't order it again. I've been to the San Jose location before and enjoyed the durian coffee and egg coffee, so I'd recommend those drinks instead. The service was quick, and there was plenty of seating inside. read more
Excellent coffee! I tried the pandan and egg coffee both less sweet and really enjoyed both drinks. I would stop here again. Tried the ube one from my friend and personally it's not my thing. The body is really thick and not my style. The pandan and egg cream tops just really hit the spot. Busy but service is sweet and helpful. There's lines for a reason! read more

This is my #1 favorite coffee spot, specifically for the Coconut Coffee. Just that alone earns it a 5-star rating. I'm not sure if it's because we don't have many coffee options like this elsewhere (or maybe I haven't seen any), but because of this specific product, Phin Cafe has become my go-to spot for Doordash. Even on weekend mornings, I always ask my boyfriend if I can stop by to get my coffee. My order: Coconut Coffee, No Sweet, Oat Milk. I always get this combo because the coconut milk already has some sweetness, and the oat milk is very light and not as harsh on my lactose-intolerant stomach. Their coffee is strong and flavorful. It comes in a small cup, which I would say is closer to a grande cup. I usually need the biggest size, but in Phin Cafe's case, the cup size is perfect and definitely all I need. I love the coconut bits/shavings, and it seems like they sprinkle in some coconut powder too. I usually have takeout orders, but honestly, I would love to sit at their cafe and do some work there sometime. The location is very cozy, aesthetic, and picturesque. In terms of wait time, since I usually order ahead via their website or Doordash, my order is usually ready for pickup as soon as I get there. The one time I placed an order in-store without ordering ahead, I had to wait around 7-10 minutes since they make their drinks fresh (and with love). read more
Love the egg coffee. If you like creamy this is the one. I've also tried the coconut coffee which is pretty good too. I normally get mine less sweet. With both drinks you can adjust the sweet level - (regular or less) There's almost always a bit of wait... especially late morning/noon. There's seating along the perimeter of the shop. The shaking beef banh mi is pretty good. Spam musubi is ok. Nothing special about it. My go to place when in the area when craving something more decadent. read more

I've tried Phin Cafe and Ube coffee is my favorite drink to order. I'm not big on sweets so I order light sweet, and that has the perfect (sweetness) amount of Ube syrup with espresso. The barista's customer service is always top tier and they're super nice whenever I come here. The cafe is very clean and has modern decor, but they do have limited seating so it can be hard to get a seat to meet up with a friend or work on a laptop. I highly recommend this cafe to everyone read more
I decided to study here on a weekend. I ordered an egg coffee the was less sweet and really enjoyed the egg cream on top. It wasn't too busy when I went and the workers were friendly. There is some seating and the interior is nicely decorated as it has a cozy and comforting feel to it. I would definitely want to come back and try more items! read more

First time here since I was next door getting ramen ordered an iced jasmine milk tea with brown sugar boba tasted pretty gross and the boba was cold and really hard I went back and told them they just said sorry instead of offering something else I guess because they were trying to close and go home definitely won't be coming back I'll stick to my usual spot! read more
I've been to the San Jose location and tried the Phin coffee with pandan cream. I enjoyed it but I actually had meant to order the pandan coffee. This time around, I got the coconut coffee because I heard it was really good. The rumors were indeed true! It was different from the other cream coffees because it was more of a slush with the ice blended. Loved the texture especially because I'm not the biggest fan of strong coffee taste, so the slush texture made it sweeter since the coconut cream was blended with the coffee more evenly. Cashier was very friendly. Drinks took about 15-20 mins to come out on a busy Saturday afternoon. Parking lot was pretty crowded. A handful of tables indoors but all were taken when I arrived. Definitely bustling and popular and I get the hype! read more

We arrived 15 minutes before the shop closed down for the day. We called in advance to make sure the kitchen would be open still by the time we got there. At this point a lot of their teas and other drinks were unable to be made/served, which makes sense for the time at which we arrived. Sorry again to the workers there for the last-minute appearance, but extremely grateful for still serving us even near the end of the work day! I ordered the Volcano milk tea which is their brown sugar fresh milk drink. The brown sugar profile is one of the best I've had in terms of brown sugar drinks. The boba was really soft, although a bit too soft for my liking. The cream cheese was a nice addition to the drink, but maybe next time I will make the drink less sweet as it was bordering being just a bit too sweet. The inside of the shop is really nice, clean, and calming. There are outlets at each table, so it makes for a great place to study if you happen to be in search of a study spot! read more
Found a new fav spot! I've heard great things about their SJ location but this one was a tad bit closer to where I was headed, so we decided to stop by for some drinks. I ordered a pandan matcha latte after seeing a photo of it and it was aaamazing! It was just the right amount of sweetness and the pandan and matcha flavors meshed together perfectly. I loved how fragrant the pandan was too. For the ordering process, you get to customize your "house specialty" drink which is nice! You can choose between a matcha or coffee, then adjust the topping you want from there. They also have a selection of boba and other small items available too. There was plenty of seating and we fortunately were able to visit without a line. Staff was quick and friendly and our order was ready in the next 4-7 min! read more
I loooove me a good Vietnamese coffee. So glad that Phin Cafe has opened in Fremont so I don't have to go all the way to SJ for an authentic brew! Phin Cafe has a variety of toppings for their Vietnamese coffees to suit whatever you're in the mood for. You can choose from egg, durian, salted cream, coconut, pandan, and ube. We got an egg coffee and coconut coffee, and both were perfectly sweet, creamy, and gave us a much-needed afternoon pick-me-up boost. The coffee taste isn't overly bitter or strong, but you'll definitely feel it. Hoping that they've worked out some of their grand opening kinks from when we visited a couple of months ago. We waited 45 minutes for our drinks (although they were very upfront and told each customer that the wait would be 40-45 minutes, so I appreciated that). As long as I don't have to wait so long for my Vietnamese coffee fix, I'll definitely be back to try the other flavors. read more

It doesnt taste like egg if you're wondering, its more like custardy creamy thickness/taste. Gun n Rose $5.95: rose green milk tea, cheese cream, rose petals. I know some people dont like HEAVILY rose flavor things like theyre chewing on petals. It was very subtle floral notes, well balanced with the milk tea and cheese cream. .:: Service / Ambiance / Parking ::. The cashier was nice, drinks came in maybe 10ish min? Good matchas, good vibes for getting some work done!! Finally was able to visit the place! Ive tried a drink from here once before that my friend brought (Matcha topped with egg) but it was too sweet for me at the time. When i went this day, it was my first time actually being at the cafe, and I also got to re-order the drink with my adjustments. It was much better!! (pro tip: less sweet in the matcha if you're getting the egg on top) I really liked this place for the workspace too. I love the decor, its nice and subtle. They should consider somehow adding a bit more seating bc it looks like a poppin place for folks to come and visit. Gave 4 stars for now bc im definitely coming back to try their banh mis and more of their drinks :) read more

I'd been wanting to try this place for a while now since hearing about it! Phin Cafe is located in a small shopping center and parking could be a bit limited, but I got lucky enough to snag a spot as someone was leaving. I arrived at about 11am on a Saturday and it wasn't too crowded! Very modern look to it, but also warm and welcoming. The staff were kind, answered the questions I had and quick to get my order out. I ordered the Phin Coffee with coconut (the employee who took my order compared it somewhat to a frappe). This drink alone was enough to convince me to come back and try more! The PERFECT amount of sweetness as is, and great balance with the coffee and coconut. I also ordered the California Musubi which came with a side of aioli and it was a great little snack, very fresh! I'll definitely be coming back to try their Matcha and a Bahn Mi sandwhich, since I'd seen a lot of people order that! read more

I really wanted to try the pandan coffee, but reviews convinced me not to lol. So I got the egg coffee and my friend got the ube coffee. It was pretty tough to mix with all the ice so I didn't really get the full experience with everything combined, but separately the parts were good lol. However, I don't think I'd drive another 40 min to revisit. Could possibly see myself stopping by if I'm already in the area though. Unfortunately my friend didn't like her ube coffee. Thought the ube overpowered the drink. Maybe the inability to mix it well also played a role. I had one sip and agreed the ube flavor was prominent but I probably would've been fine to finish it. Really busy on a Sunday at 1:30pm. Limited tables inside but appears there's wifi. Saw lots of people with laptops. read more

It was my first time trying this Vietnamese-style cafe and I'm really impressed! Located in a busy shopping center with a noodle soup, boba shop, grocery store, and fast food Phin has no problem attracting customers. As their interior decor says, it's "traditional meets modern taste" with a menu offering boba, coffee, banh mi, and more. When I was there it was packed - almost every seat was taken. Due to the popularity I had to wait a little bit for my order but it was well worth the wait! I got the berry medley (half sweet) and a special combo banh mi sandwich. You have the option to customize sweetness level and add boba if you wish. My drink was tart and refreshing, not too sweet, but the sandwich is what's going to keep me coming back. The rich creaminess of the pate combined with a crunchy (but not too overly hard - hard bread is terrible) French roll are two textures I'll never ever get tired of. Everything about this place feels fresh, from the decor to the food to the beverages. Parking can be tricky as it's a shared space with all the other businesses nearby but there is also some street parking available. Note that they offer a rewards system that you can sign up for with your phone number. Pretty sure I'll be back :) read more

One of the best coffee place I've ever been! I have been looking for a place out here that does egg coffee similar to Da Vien in socal and this is the most similar one! The coffee is pretty strong so if you like dark, get it with the egg cream on top. The milk tea with coffee jelly normal sweetness was also very delicious! read more

Overall - Solid 4 out of 5! THE GOOD ° Pandan Coffee! Wait what, they have pandan?! - The Pandan coffee was so good! Definitely will order again. ° Ube Coffee! - Wife ordered and loved the ube coffee. - - Both the Pandan and Ube was kind of a custard(?). It made the coffee silky. ° Chicken Banh Mi - Decent. Not one of our favorites. But it was good. THE BAD ° Nothing really THE UGLY ° Grilled Pork Banh Mi - This is the sole reason for losing a star (sorry!) - Was a wet mess.... - Didn't feel like it was grilled - Too much fat and needed more vegetables I give this place a solid 4 out of 5 stars. The Pandan coffee was a delightful surprise; I didn't expect to find pandan here, and it was so good that I'll definitely order it again. My wife loved the ube coffee, which also had a custard-like texture that made it silky and smooth. The Chicken Banh Mi was decent, though not our favorite, but still good enough to enjoy. Unfortunately, the Grilled Pork Banh Mi was a letdown and the main reason for losing a star. It was a wet mess, didn't feel grilled, had too much fat, and needed more vegetables. There wasn't really anything else bad about our experience. We're definitely coming back for more coffee because it's exceptional. However, we're hesitant about ordering the Banh Mi again given our experience with the grilled pork. Overall, it's a great spot for coffee, but the Banh Mi might need some improvement. read more

PARKING, ACCESSIBILITY Parking is free in a shared lot with 99 Ranch. The disabled spot does not really have space for a wheelchair lift, as they have turned the blocked-off space that is normally next to the disabled spot into a 20-minute parking zone. Entrance is accessible, but it's hard to maneuver around the small shop if disabled. SERVICE, FOOD The service is friendly, and quick. There is an abundance of workers behind the counter. I ordered the egg coffee, and it was good. The shop is small and it got pretty busy around 1pm. There are about 8 tables in there and not much standing space. read more
