I eat pho here regularly about once or twice a week. Doesnt matter if its 100 degrees outside ill still eat a xtra large bowl of hot pho. Great little quiet place with a manager who is very courteous. Food is good and consistent. read more

I decided to order pho and vermicelli for take out at the last minute, around half an hour before they closed. I haven't been here for a year now. And let me tell ya, this was the worst Pho I ever had. I don't know if they changed the chef or not? Or maybe decided to pour something in because they ran out. It tasted like it was covered up w/ a different broth and added more msg to it. I'm Vietnamese and I've never never had anything that tastes nothing like Pho and smells nothing like Pho. :( I had to dumb it, couldn't stand the flavor. I gave it a 2 stars because the vermicelli w/ pork was great and they did gave us variety of fresh veggies. read more

Very disappointing! The recommended Pho Tai, Chin (beef w/ brisket) by staff was very bland even with added soy sauce. Definitely had a "wtf " moment with first taste. Service was unimpressive. My food was served and no one checked on us after that. Atmosphere was boring. Best Pho thus far was in Arlington, TX! This is a fairly small and quaint restaurant that serves the typical Vietnamese dishes you would expect. The prices are fair and the portions are more than enough to leave you satisfied for either lunch or dinner. At prime time lunch hours this place is pretty vacant making me wonder if it has a better dinner crowd around here. The staff seems like a nice family and they are observant to their customers not leaving you unattended for more than a few minutes, but not in your face either. The bathrooms are clean and stocked and the furniture, tables and place settings are also nice and clean . It is a quiet and peaceful place to dine and great for meeting a friend or business associate for chat or discussion while enjoying traditional Vietnamese food. The T.V. screen shows a modern traditional Asian "Lawerence Welk style" entertainment at a low to moderate volume which can be an added touch to the ambience for some, and a little annoying to others. Normal kids will probably hate this place, but an interesting and precocious child may find it a unique treat if they don't need to be reminded to eat their veggies. read more

Favorite Vietnamese Restaurant In the last five years, I never went to any Vietnamese restaurant to try the food. I was at the Pho #1 restaurant to pick up my parents. My mom used to work at the restaurant, which is on San Pedro and Zuni. So other day I decided to drive to Pho #1 to try out the food. When I arrived, the parking lot was small but full of vehicles. I finally parked my car and walked into the restaurant. The restaurant outside look is very simple with couple trees by the door. Ms Ly, the owner of the store, sat me at a table for one. Ms Ly came to my table, and I ordered Ultimate rice and a cup of water. While I was waiting, she brought me a Dr. Pepper for a drink, and she said it ok; I did not want to refuse her generosity so I took it. My food came out five minutes later, in one hand she has the Ultimate rice, and on the other hand was a bowl of Wonton soup, which I did not order, she said it was fine. Yet again, I didn't want to refuse her. The Ultimate rice came with grilled pork, two fried eggs, a couple slices of tomatoes, and a dipping fish sauce. The meat was grilled perfectly, and it had a juicy taste. The eggs were medium, which it was perfect. I put the dipping sauce on top the rice and mixed the rice up was fantastic. The Wanton soup with some chopped green onions, is very well made. It's amazing how well does the kitchen team the food they make is delicious I looked around the restaurant the wall with light green color, and nice quiet place to be in to enjoy the food. But they cannot have avoided the competition with a different restaurant. Many other restaurants are make the same food, and take away most of the customers from this restaurant. I talked with Ms Ly about the restaurant, and she told me this restaurant has been here for 12 years. . After I finished with my food, I went to the back of the restaurant to say hello to the people. The people from the back is very happy when they see me, and I really enjoyed the food in here they make a lot of good food. They are not very crowded, and the piano music just make this place peaceful. This location opens from 10:30am- 9pm, and they are closes on Wednesday. I personally think this restaurant deserve five stars, not like from other reviewer gave this restaurant four stars. I never been into a Vietnamese restaurant with a simple plate and with the best customer service skills. This restaurant is over 200 different types of food for you to choose from. Everything in here has an affordable price and the food is cook perfectly. If I have money, I would come every day. All of the food in here is just amazing; I will definitely come back here to try it more often. They are really #1. read more

The more I eat at this place, the more I like it. I've tried multiple things off of the menu and every single one has been great. This is obviously a family run business as kids are generally serving the food/drinks, but it's always welcoming and friendly. They even made me beef congee, which isn't on the regular menu, but is included in the multi course meal. I always leave this place satisfied. read more

This place is my go to place to eat. IT IS SO GOOD!! I highly recommend it! It's my favorite place to eat. I randomly found this place a while ago. (I eventually gave up relying on food reviews I read in magazines and online.) I like the pho, fried rice, vermicelli, and summer rolls. I'm sure everything is so good though. My favorite thing to order is a bowl of vermicelli with veggies, bbq pork, and an egg roll. It also comes with fish sauce. I like to order jalapeños on the side. The bbq pork are thin slices of deliciousness!! The older lady is very welcoming and accommodating. She's makes sure everything is to your liking. The other workers are very nice too. I've been eating here for about 6 years now. :) I can't get enough of it. I've tried other Vietnamese places in ABQ and they don't compare to this place. Actually other places have gotten me sick. i've had lots of pho in my life (i'm a sucker for noodle soups), and the pho here tastes pretty good to me. service is overly polite, which takes some getting used to, but it's worth it for the food. two sizes of pho, but an adult can easily finish the large size. lots of cold drink options too- shakes, three-color jelly, etc. read more

I notice that the people who gave the 5-stars are generally NOT Asian. In truth, it is a little too light for me but it is probably healthier version since Asian food are packed with sodium and MSG. I know the owner has our health in mind so she does make the broth a little lighter which my physican required so it is a perfect combination. It is a family run place and chances are the lady served you is the owner and she will often check with you and open for any suggestion and/or special request (I need by bean sprouts to be boiled) because cold soup is a no no with Chinese. Vietnamese generally don't care about the cold vegetable because that is how they served it in Vietnam but the temperture of the broth is the utmost essential of the this national staple. The Bun Bo Hue is also one of the best in the city. I love it. Service is usually the weakest spot amongest Asian restaurant but she really shines. I always return to this place whenever I visit Albuquerque. read more

Had the BEST vegetarian pho there and the springrolls were fresh and tasty. Staff was very nice. Was headed on a long road trip and we stopped here on the way from Oklahoma City to Flagstaff and this was the highlight of the day for me. We visited this after reading recommendations on Yelp and were not disappointed. It was my first ever Vietnamese food and any I have in the future will probably have to measure up to this. The atmosphere is what you would expect in a strip mall restaurant, so that wasn't disappointing. I went in and ordered pho and it had no flavor!! It tasted like water. I told the lady what happened and she argued with me. She told me that it wasn't bland!! I don't understand how she could know how my food tasted. I had two spoonfuls, and I told her I didn't want it and she said no because I had some already. I took a picture of the hardly eaten food and how light the soup was. The vegetables were also going bad... I told her I would pay for it but for her to take it away so I could order something else but she didn't understand me and got defensive with me. She gave me this dirty look and kept shaking her head. So then I decided I wouldn't order anything else. I told her that she gave absolutely the worst customer service. She didn't seem to care at all. Her only response was that they were the best in town.. Apparently not today. I was very disappointed. I will never go back! I have pictures of all the food.
