Just ordered delivery from Postmates, not too stoked on my meal. I got the vegetarian pho. My noodles stuck to the takeout box, they're all really short and chopped and they're all sticking together. We have been going here for many years and have loved it. But recently the food lacks flavor. When we went last weekend, the additional issue, besides a clear fall in the quality and flavor of the food, was that there was a very strong odor of cleaning products (PineSol?) and it was very unappetizing. We couldn't wait to leave. I really hope that things improve. If we go again and have a better experience, I will definitely change my review. I really want this restaurant to succeed! read more

Came here a few weeks ago, on one of the (rare) cold December nights we were having. Late night, and after running a bunch of holiday errands, my girlfriend and I were in the mood for pho, and this was the only place open in the immediate area. We were seated immediately when we came through the door, and had great service from a bubbly young waitress who was absolutely bursting with personality! I'm actually surprised at some of the reviews mentioning negative service, because we had such overwhelmingly positive service. She was attentive & talkative, and definitely left a good impression. Regarding the food & the pho, it was good! A large pho tai was $10.25, and we also ordered a pork & a beef bahn mi, each at $5.50. The pho was good, and tasted comparable to the places on Sepulveda Blvd. like Pho 999, etc. My only complaint would be with the bahn mi sandwiches....although the meat was tasty & flavored well, they were way too much bread with too little meat. Needs more of a traditional bun with more meat, instead of the large generic (possibly grocery store bought) buns. Some reviewers have mentioned the prices being a little high, but I think they're about right for the location in Northridge, being that they're right next to CSUN. Most mom & pop shops in this area are a bit more expensive than their competition elsewhere, and I'd rather go to Pho 22 in Northridge as opposed to driving over to Sepulveda & Sherman Way for pho that is $2 cheaper. All in all, the service was great, the restaurant was VERY clean, the pho was good, and they were open LATE! A win-win in my book, and we will definitely be back! read more

Parking is tough, no restrooms available, and the pho is poured poorly in comparison to other places I've been to. Their "large" side comes with a ton of broth of about the same amount of meat you'd find in the regular. Taste was good though and service too which is why I'm leaving 3 stars. They literally watch you struggle to strip rib thing then swoop in with the scissors a second plate, and the water they never brought you only after you've made a big mess trying to do it with chopsticks. They will literally just ignore you until the mess looks big enough. That is, if they even care. No apologies, just, do you need anything else? Don't go here if you don't want to feel like you're just being made a fool for their enjoyment. Last time I was here, they forgot things that should have been in my order and I was charged for. Good customer service. The girl that was serving was very nice. The pho wasn't very good tho. It hardly had any flavor I had to add salt pepper, onion, and a lot of sriracha. What was more upsetting was I got the deluxe and the bowl was as big as the small bowl, I got the all meat with added meatball and the bowl literally had 2 pieces of meatballs and like 4 pieces of the other meats. Poor service Dined in with some friends our water was refilled after asking various times. I asked for extra peanuts in my vermicelli which seemed like they put even less than usual. It bothers me when pho is overpriced because I'm a Vietnamese person and I know the prices of the ingredients and where you can get really good pho for a stupid cheap (yet still priced enough for owners to make a ton of money) price. With that said, pho here is about $10-$12 a bowl with an additional $1 for a large. Got the short rib and immediately knew this was not authentic Vietnamese pho. That's ok, there was a power outage for most of the city, this was what we had to work with. Our menu: short rib pho with extra meatballs Pork and chicken combo vermicelli bowl Pho: the broth was decent, but it was not what I was expecting. I wanted more Viet flavors of the anise and that meat simmering for days kind of taste, but again, I was settling. The short rib meat itself was pretty good - quite tender, though some was dry. The flavor of the meat wasn't incredible, so dipping it with sauces of the sorts (hoisin and sriracha) made it better. The noodles somehow tasted a little sour - not sure about that one, but ok. Meatballs are an extra $3, friends, so be aware. Thy don't tell you this, but just say an extra charge. I'm still new to the meat eating and extra ordering, so I was thinking it would be $1-$2 (since a large bowl is $1 extra..), but it's $3 for a few meatballs. The vermicelli bowl was subpar as well. The chicken and the pork didn't have the traditional Vietnamese flavors (Leningrad's or what not) and they definitely were not the traditional grilled. Everything was alright, just not what I wanted. The bowl was also a whopping $12, so I was kind of expecting to be blown away by a Korean twist on this traditionally Viet dish, but no. Like others have said, this is Korean owned. You can tell by the menu and by the service/owner. Not sure if it was because of the power outage, but the kitchen was super slow. We got our food probably an hour after ordering, even though we were told it would take a little bit more time. We were thinking maybe 30 min...but either way, we'll just blame it on the outage. My fiancé and I always go to the Pho22 in La Crescenta, and love the quality of the food there. However this location was not as great as we had hoped for. At the la Crescenta location the spring rolls have a nice amount of pork inside, and their peanut sauce is BOMB! However the spring rolls here had like two very tiny pieces of pork, and the peanut sauce wasn't that great. Also the chicken in my pho had lots of cartilage pieces which I don't like at all. Got home and there was an extra container of chicken breast? The brisket and tofu was inedible I also picked out as much of the ride noodles because they tasted gross. If you know Asian food then you know there's rice noodles and there's rice noodles. They are not all the same. One chicken wing was so tiny I thought I needed a microscope to confirm that it was actually a chicken wing. Not only are they small but they also are not good. I feel like I wasted $40 and in this day with the economy being bad it's never good to treat yourself and basically feel like you threw away your money. I've been eyeing this restaurant for a while because it was next to bon bon....I wanted to like it but I couldn't. It smells good coming in but the taste just wasn't there. I would rather eat at bun me than here. We ordered pho, eggrolls and vermecilli noodles. The service was slow, especially to get our food but the waiter was very nice. First off, the fish sauce was completely off and the eggrolls didn't even have any meat, mostly noodles and some veggies. Over priced in my opinion. The vermicelli looked good but the pork was just too sweet and it didn't taste like it was cooked over a grill or in a pan to give it that charred flavor. Since the fish sauce wasn't great (salty).. the overall dish just failed entirely. Also using iceberg lettuce wasn't the best choice. I couldn't even finish it. I ordered the vegetarian pho that comes with fried tofu, bok choy, and three different kinds of mushrooms. It was quality pho! I enjoyed it a lot. The place was also clean, and cute inside. The fresh spring rolls is under a different name. I believe it was under "rice rolls" in the menu. It was so good!!! It was really fresh and they were a pretty big size. Not your average size spring roll. I like how you can tell it was fresh, because the rolls weren't super cold as if they were just sitting in the fridge. I enjoyed this place. This is OFFICIALLY one of mine and my bf's favorite pho places. We drive aaaall the way from Glendale for this Korean-run pho place because their broth is AMAZING! AND, also because we love the Pork Spare Rib Pho. That is really what we come here for. I, however, stick with my usual rare brisket and steak pho. We always get the large and we love just how much they give us. This is one of those places where you get enough noodle/soup/meat ratio, and we love that fact so much because most pho places give too much noodles and not enough meat to balance it, but this place got THAT on lock. I also love this place because it's right next to Bon Bon Tea House, which I am also in love with. I wish I got her name but she greeted everybody that comes in & checked in on guests to make sure their meal was ok. It's a little bit far from where I live but every now and then I go to that area. First time tried Pho noodle soup this past weekend, it was like eating a giant healthier version of cup O noodles. Had the veggie verison as i am not a fan of boiled meats swimming around in my soups. It had bok choy, broccoli, mushrooms, and bean sprouts, and fried tofu. A tasty broth and its fun for take-out and assembly at home. Would like to see more veggies and especially mushrooms (barely any shrooms) but non-Asian pho-take-out beggars cant be choosers. I was with a friend who wanted to get something to eat. She was in a mad craving for pho, almost insistent. After a small debate about a pho spot in Northridge, I had to concede that this Pho22 was relatively new. I had never seen it, which peaked my interest. Tucked away in a shopping mall, I saw the sign and I could guess it was a korean style pho spot. After I've had some fantastic vietnamese pho, I agree there is a difference between korean and vietnamese style. But you are talking about pho. Just like pizza, there is no bad pizza or no bad pho. Pho22 is what I expected in a korean pho spot. It actually exceeded a little more than I had planned. The soup was good although it didn't have the depth of flavor in a superb pho, but this was good enough to satisfy me. The tripe and brisket in my soup hit the spot. And like others, I agree that the bowl was a very generous size. Sure the price is about $1 or $2 more than some place in K-Town, but c'mon folks... you're in the Valley. The Spring Rolls were generous in size too. I underestimated the size when I ordered 4. The service was very friendly and very helpful. I got everything I asked when I requested it. This a Korean pho place and it's fine if you're open to more fusion interpretations of pho. I can definitely appreciate a nice tender piece of short rib but it definitely isn't traditional. Flavor-wise, this place does what a lot of Korean places do. They make a nice and beefy broth that plays it too safe on the spices. The biggest complaint I had about it was the herbs. -1 Star for tiny portions of basil and bean sprouts of questionable freshness. I also had to specifically request the basil. Asked what kind of fusion pho place it is and they said it's Korean-Vietnamese. So that explains a lot why the pho may be different from other places. The broth isn't as oily so that's good because my stomach can be sensitive to that and tastes good. The waitress didn't mind bringing me extra veggies for the soup either.
