I reckon my first pho experience so I don't have other places to compare to. However , things I can recognize without having been to a different pho place before. 1) the customer service was pretty good, the young little chap was friendly and seems like a nice family restaurant. He was trying to do well and did a good job. Very professional. 2) the quality of the food it self was very good. I thought the soul was delicious. It was a chicken noodle. In fact so good that I feel I need to try another pho place soon just to compare. Either way. Hooked me on the pho! 3) yes. The prices are a bit expensive all things considered. I don't really know why but the food was good quality so It is difficult to justify or rationalize as I don't have another place to compare against. It would seem like perhaps you are paying for higher quality ingredients and meats and vegetables. I will caveat this with I've never had Pho so I don't have a lot of background. But what we had was very delicious. We started with the veggie rolls which were very fresh. I had Chicken Pho and two others with me had the Shaking Beef and the short ribs. We all agreed the food was good, everything fresh and tasty and we got everything very quickly. The owner came over and was very nice and friendly. The only down side to this place is, as others have said, the price. But it's nice to have some options here on this side of town! read more

Food is pricy (even higher than NYC, Boston Vietnamese restaurants), portions are small, and most of all, food was mediocre! I had the worse Banh mi sandwich ever--buns have no crust (just supermarket dinner rolls toasted), grilled pork is not marinated (just bland meat), and seasoning consists entirely of oozing red hot sauce). Just terrible! $10. Two shrimp summer rolls have 3 shrimps in total (split in half in two rolls) plus lettuce. $8 Vietnamese Pancakes: I used to get it at Lei's in East Hartford for maybe $10-$12; Pho 99 charges $18!!! Check your receipts, people! Take note of the cost of each item and tally it up for yourself before checkout. This place appears to be very sneaky: they tax on EACH item. That's right...each...item (as opposed to the total cost). The price of your item seems to never appear on the receipt as it does on the menu. If you question them, they'll more than likely tell you that the menu had changed. On top of that, everything is way overpriced and not worth the money. A few things I've learned is that: Greed is a costly thing not worth possessing; being dishonest can only take a company so far, and; God gives everyone a grace period, so I suggest that if they're reading this, they need to do the right thing NOW! Okay, now on to the food: their dishes are great, but the soup is not good at all. The broth is too sweat and tastes like spaghettios and the meatballs tastes like hard, peppered, rubber balls. On the upside, the place is very clean. In conclusion, Pho99 lost me as a customer because of dishonest practice. read more

Terrible and over priced. There was no flavor in the beef pho, very bland and my soup was "warm" not piping hot as it should have been. I was charged for hot tea. The waiter kept asking if I wanted to order other items off the menu. Egg rolls were 2 for $8! I will not be going back. read more

This was my first time at pho 99. Very cute facility and delicious pho. I got the hot and spicy beef pho- very good. Although, compared to other pho places in the area this place was pretty pricey. Also, the service was a bit neglectful. Excluding those factors, food delicious! read more

My go-to order is their Shrimp Pho and it's usually delicious. This evening I ordered my food through Door Dash to be delivered to my house. My order totaled around $27 with tip included. When I start unwrapping my food I noticed the shrimp was undercooked which would be ok if my broth was hot....but it wasn't. It was not even warm either. So I set everything up to reheat the soup and all the ingredients on my stove. As I am about to put the shrimp in the pot, I noticed that the shrimp weren't deveined. That is a huge turn off for me. It took less than 5 minutes for me to devein all of the shrimp. The soup was delicious as usual but I wasn't happy that for the amount of money that I spent with my order and tip and wait time...I had to reheat everything and devein my own shrimp. I hope that this review will help them understand that little things like that turn off customers and potentially lose customers too. This is my first time using this app and writing a review. I just tried Pho 99 for the first time and enjoyed it. I ordered shrimp pho in vegetable broth since I don't eat meat or meat sources and thought it was very good. Added all the vegetables and basil, lime and it was comparable to any other place I've been. I didn't think it was expensive like previously mentioned. I'm not sure where other people are getting a large Pho for under 15.99 but I've never seen it before. That is the usual price I've seen. Will definitely be back to try other dishes. read more

This is my absolute favorite local restaurant for lunch/dinner in Manchester, CT! The ingredients are so fresh and you can't go wrong with anything on the menu. Their coconut shrimp is a must-try appetizer, and the pho is phenomenal. read more

Wonderful service, immaculately clean. I thought the portions were very generous. My bowl itself wasn't huge, but there was lots of shrimp, more noodles than I could eat, tons of fresh seasonings. The broth was so rich and flavorful I hardly would have even minded if the bowl HAD been mostly liquid. My father said his dish came with the best fried rice he's ever had, which is surprising for a side that rarely gets much thought. My mother's Vietnamese pancake entrée was enormous, and looked amazing, which she said it was. The prices aren't LOW, but neither are they high. I would easily say the quality and quantity warrants it. The location may imply hole-in-the-wall, but the atmosphere inside and the food are stellar, and the prices do reflect that, though very reasonably, in my opinion.
