A new Pho spot on Laguna Blvd. Went on a Thursday around noon, and I was greeted & seated right away. I appreciated that they gave water (in cute mason jars) right away. The servers are very "on it". Refilling water & asking if I needed anything throughout my time there. I ordered the biggest dish there, which was the Pho Bistro. It comes with one bowl of pho, a side of raw meat to add to your pho & 2 beef ribs. Everything tasted really really good. One thing I always look for in a pho place is the freshness of the garnishes: basil & bean sprouts, thus place had it really fresh. I knew it was a lot of food & I wouldn't be able to finish, but good thing they offer appropriate to go containers. The price is fair for what I ordered. This place is way better than the place that was previously here! The staff here are super nice and the food comes out super quick. I've been to some pho places where I had to wait almost 10 minutes or more for my bowl of pho. Whenever I go to a new pho place I always order their spiciest pho so I ordered their S1 Spicy Beef Noodle. From the first spoonful of soup I could taste how spicy it was and I loved it! Some other places I've been I ordered their "spicy pho" but it had a mild taste to it. Pho Bistro doesn't play around with their spices! We all agreed that the broth for all the soups have been a lot better than the first day the restaurant was opened. I think they finally tweaked the recipes. I imagine this to be typical since it is a lot to adjust to cooking for a larger scale. I tried the bun bo hue. Hands down the best BBH in town. The meats are great. Then there's a plate of rare beef that's separate so you mix in. Next is a bowl of beef ribs. What the heck?! So generous in portion. It's worth the money. -Pho tai. My daughter got this. We have been really enjoying Pho Bistro lately. We've been ordering takeout 1-2 times a month and it's been a really good experience. I call in my order, they give me a time, and when we show up to pick up, it is ALWAYS ready. And that makes me happy. The portion sizes on their to-go food is great for the soups! We also have super full bowls and often some leftover for lunch the next day. They are pretty generous with their meat too, which I appreciate. Plus they add all the veggies and condiments you need for pho in the containers and you don't have to ask including hoisin and extra chilis for bun bo hue. We also like their egg rolls that have the lacy texture on the outside. It's a good appetizer. My kids are always happy with their kids meals too and the portions there are good as well. First time having Pho at Pho Bistro. We stopped by for lunch in the middle of the week. They were a bit busy for lunch hour but they had a table open within a few minutes. Bowls of Pho on all the tables made me know this is going to be a good spot. We both ordered P1. Pho Bistro which comes with everything including 5oz of rib eye steak and 2 beef rib bones. All the condiments came out first with fresh lime, basil, bean sprouts, and sliced jalapeño peppers. Our bowls came out hot and smelled great. Our server stopped by a few times to make sure we have everything we need and also brought over more fresh condiments because I love lots of lime and jalapeños. I have to start by saying the broth here has to be one of best in town that I have tasted. The quality of the meat is good as well, the beef rib bones tasted really good and was a nice addition. The area for improvement in my opinion was the noodles. They broke apart easy and became lots of little pieces and couldn't be slurped up with the chopsticks. They might be a bit overdone with no resistance. Again it's my opinion and should not stop anyone from visiting and trying Pho Bistro. I will definitely be back to try some more and get more beef rib bones. :-). read more

My husband and I loooove Pho'! Originally from San Jose, we grew up eating Vietnamese food. With that being said, Pho Bistro is definetly the place to go if you have a craving for delicious Vietnamese food. The service is great! The environment is nicely upgraded from the previous Pho restaurant that occupied this location. The owners are super friendly and welcoming, along with the staff. YES, YES, YES! We went on the first day of soft opening and was completely blown away by the Hu Tieu Soup! I'd have to say they are the best in Sac! My server recommended the dry Hu Tieu with clear noodle, but I was in the mood for soup that day. It definitely gives me an excuse to go back though! Broth for both the pho and Hu Tieu was so flavorful that I didn't need to add anything. You can definitely taste the depth and time put into it. I found the sauce for the entree to be a little on the salty side, but overall good food and nice portion. I really enjoyed the spring rolls and look forward to coming back for that. The vegetarian Pho was to die for! Best I've ever had. And I've had A LOT of pho. Instead of the traditional cabbage, carrots and broccoli that you usually get, they use turnips, taro, mushrooms and well done carrots. It was spectacular! My husband ordered a bahn mi, and loved it. Ordered Pho Tai, very flavorful yet clean broth. The rare steak came nice and rare but still managed to have flavor. Noodles cooked to perfection not under and not over. I really enjoyed the house chilli sauce it had coarsely chopped red chili's in it. Thai tea was perfectly sweet I could still taste the tea which is exactly how I like it. Been here multiple times before and it has mostly been a good experience. The first time I had their Hu Tui noodles it was ok but broth was Luke warm, it was their soft opening so I waited to come back and try again and had been back multiple times before, they dac viet pho and banh mi sandwiches were very good. I had their B1 before and thought it was pretty good but didn't have that much sauce because they give a lot of noodles so when I ordered it again today, I asked the waitress for an extra fish sauce. She said she would have to charge me a $1. A dollar an extra fish sauce!!! I told her to forget about it. I pour in the sauce and start eating and notice that the food looks different from last time, the egg roll looks different the meat looked undercooked and just did not taste good at all. For me as a person if I spend $14+ on a meal I'm going to try and finish as much as I could as to waste money but for the life of me I could not even eat about 50% of it, could not even eat all the meat or the egg roll which was really gross, not sure what happened to the egg roll before it was different looking. Besides that, the people here are sooo sweet it felt like I was eating at a relatives house. Their chilli oil was so good I actually got the nerve to ask them if they sell it and I got two tubs! Late review, before Covid days: I was recommend to this place, I got pho and my boyfriend got their infamous bun bo hue. My pho smelled amazing, and the broth was light and not oily. The noodles took me by surprise! It's not the "typical" pho noodle you see (thin rice noodle) they use flat rice noodle. I also tried the bun bo hue's broth, it was very flavorful! Pho Bistro is THE BEST pho joint in Elk Grove!  Our family literally eats here 1-2 times a week!  We literally and physically crave the pho here.  Whenever we go away on vacation, eating here is the first thing we do once we return home.  Really good serving sizes, they give more meat in your pho than most pho restaurants , and the broth is CONSISTENTLY savory and on-point - no matter what day you visit.  (The same can't be said about other pho restaurants we have tried in Elk Grove.  The food always arrives quickly, and the wait staff is very attentive...especially Ms. Van!  She is THE BEST.   She always greets us with a warm, hospitable smile and gives off loving-auntie vibes.  We love chatting and laughing with her.  (She's got jokes!}  Seeing her is always a highlight in our week, and we always leave her with our tummies and hearts so full. read more

I've come to Pho Bistro a couple of times and it is some of the best Vietnamese food I've had. As a vegetarian especially it's hard to find viet food where the tofu is flavorful and adds to the dish and that's exactly how it is at this restaurant. The vegetarian pho is amazing.. the broth is flavorful and comforting and the tofu has an incredible taste. I've also had the vegetarian Banh Mi and it's out of this world! The bread is very soft and the marinade on the tofu is super flavorful and tangy. The only downside is you have to pay for water but I always bring my water bottle so it's not a huge issue. Staff is super nice and attentive and the food takes a bit of time to come out but the quality is unmatched. read more
