One of the best pho restaurants I've been to in the South Bay! My friend and I ordered veggie egg rolls, charbroiled chicken spring rolls, salt and pepper fried shrimp, and shrimp pho. The charbroiled chicken spring rolls had a lot of flavor! Especially good with the peanut sauce! The salt and pepper fried shrimp was HEAVENLY! The breading on it was different from other places and the homemade honey mustard sauce was such a good compliment! The fried onion that came with the shrimp were amazing as well! The pho was great as well! Can't go wrong with pho! What really impressed me about the place was that they have individual sauce dishes for the egg rolls! I know that sounds trivial but most pho places just give you one and you have to share but I appreciate a place that doesn't promote double dipping! Also, the waiter gave us a great tip on how to eat the egg roll like a taco with the lettuce! I never knew that (don't hate on this noob!) ! So I would totally recommend this place ! Mehhh. Came here on a Sunday afternoon with my mother and girlfriend. We were in the area and figured to give this place a shot since many other Pho restaurants in the area happen to be closed on Sunday. When we first entered the restaurant we were greeted by a server that walked us over to a table to sit us down. When I politely asked if there was a booth available, she responded, "not right now.. I mean, that one over there is (she looks over to the other end of the room), I guess we could clean it but it will take a while". I said, "it's fine, we can wait for the booth", and she just walked away and proceeded to do her thing, seemingly annoyed as hell that I simply asked for us to be seated at a booth. Fast forward to ordering our food-- when we asked for extra lime they said it would be an extra charge, which of course, I said was fine. However, I've never heard of an extra charge for lime at a pho place. Pho restaurants are usually pretty generous with the side garnishes and this place is super stingy with them, hence why I even had to ask for more limes the first place. Did not expect I'd have to pay extra for that. With so many other pho restaurants in the area, I don't plan on returning here again. read more

Had the braised beef banh mi. Meltingly tender fatty braised brisket with the classic julienned pickles, cilantro, hot pepper (on the side) in a light bread roll PLUS a side of consomme. This is by far, the best Pho spot I've had here in LA. I've been going here since pre-pandemic and quality is always five stars - even for take-out! My go-to is the rare steak with brisket and the wifey always gets the oxtail. I usually order the beef kid's pho for my 5-year old and watch her slurp it up. It wasn't until recently that I decided to order something else on the menu besides pho and got the banh mi with brisket. Best. Decision. Ever. The vegan broth veggie ramen was soooooo good. It is dubbed my favorite pho. I was a bit scared because the broth was very clear and also many phos have water tasting broths if they're vegetable broth but this one was so tasty i was pleasantly surprised and they dont rip you off when it comes with vegetables and noodles. Why the 4 star?...Lets talk about everything else first. The food was very good. I had the brisket pho and added tendon. The chili oil and the sauces were a great compliment to the soul. The soup was very tasty and clear and good pieceS of tendon. My son had the kid pho (beef)....great portion and all it means is that it's clear broth, noodles and beef only or chicken. With so many Pho restaurants in the area, it's difficult to find one to review about. Fortunately, there are two I always go to if I am ever craving it. Pho ever is close to my job so this is a no-brainer. Been going here for years. Always have the brisket and rare steak and smother it with hot sauce and enjoy. But before I do I try the broth and I have to say it's one of the best-tasting broths I've had every time I go here. Their egg rolls are fantastic as well as their combination fried rice. While dining here the staff (including the owner) were cleaning the restaurant using harsh, foul smelling chemicals. They came and wiped down our booth with a dirty rag while we were eating our appetizers, mopped the floors next to us and seemed totally clueless that maybe their paying customers don't want to inhale bleach and chemicals and looking at dirty mops and rags right next to their table while eating and dining in their restaurant. When we told the server that we were leaving shortly after our pho arrived, she was only halfway apologetic. YELP 100 CHALLENGE 2017: 50/100 Most Vietnamese restaurants have a long line of appetizers to choose from, but I almost always get the usual - egg rolls or samplers (if it is being offered.) I guess I get tunnel vision when it comes to apps because that's as far as I go. Then, the discovery of the Banh Xeo. (aka the Vietnamese crepe.) I saw it featured at a food or cooking show, and thus began the search. Pho Ever has such great reviews, so why not start here. Boy this place didn't look like much from the outside, but I don't let outside appearances affect or influence anything. Walked in mid-week, mid-afternoon and the place was empty. I was immediately guided to a booth and handed the menu, but I straightaway voiced I was there for one thing only: the crepe. And a glass of water. (I didn't really have the need to look at the menu as I've taken a lot of time looking at it online.) The only other activity I saw was a worker mopping the floor. The place is pretty clean. The décor speaks Asian. Not too shabby. Since I was the only customer, it didn't take long for my food to get to my table. First off: it is HUGE. It is meant to be shared unless you have it as a meal (which I did.) I sliced off a piece, placed the pickled carrots and radish as well as mint and wrapped the bite with the lettuce. Dipped it in the sauce and... not bad. BUT (yes, unfortunately, there is a "but") I feel it needs a lot of work for the following reasons: ONE: Although I was told it's mean to have an overabundance of sprouts, this one just came with WAY too much. So much that I couldn't tell if the chicken and the shrimp were seasoned at all. TWO: They left the tail of the shrimp. It was an unpleasant bite - I hope they remove this in the future. THREE: The oil wasn't fully drained. By the time I got through the plate, the absorbent paper was soaked with it. Service was great, though, so I can't complain about that. Not that impressed, but I can't say I've had better since this is my first. This sets the bar for all the other Banh Xeo I will have in the future. I am coming back for the 7-item special. The disappointment of coming here after being away for a few years makes me sad and mad at the same time.. I should have known when I walked in there was not one Vietnamese person in the restaurant... That was a telling sign already but still I chose to eat there with my family. We ordered the chicken eggrolls, combo pho, bun bo hue and chicken pho. Thr eggrolls were just ok and you can see they are being really cheap with the pho broths. I seriously doubt it if they even used in beef bones in their beef pho or bun bo hue. The awards are from years ago so they definitely need to take them down because the food was AWFUL... In addition we had 2 napkins between 4 people and had to put our egg rolls on our napkins instead of service platess. Sad to see how bad this business has gone down.. read more

They ended up forgetting my main entree and now they are closed so there's nothing I can do. If you go here for pickup make sure you double check the order as they can't be trusted to get it right. I just went with the location that wouldn't take me too far out of my way, on my way home and Pho Ever is where I landed. This restaurant takes debit cards! I called ahead to ask because I've noticed that there are a good number of restaurants that take paper and plastic. Saved me a trip to my bank that would have taken me a little out of the way. Not to mention, I don't like having cash on me because I have the tendency to just spend it. Customer service was great here. Friendly and funny. I was even checked up on to see if I wanted anything else and to refill my water glass. I had the entire front room to myself so I could see that the restaurant isn't in the nicest of places. But I didn't experience any issues even from the group of guys hanging out in the parking lot near my car. By the way, lots of parking in the public lot in front. I liked the Pho and spring rolls I ordered and I even took my time savoring each bite and spoonful. Hot Pot in the South Bay! Let me repeat: authentic Chinese hot pot in my backyard! No more driving 35+ minutes to the San Gabriel Valley area for hot pot or a bowl of authentic pho! Pho Ever also offers pho as suggested by its name, but why stop there when you got a good operation going? Many types of Chinese and Vietnamese noodle dishes are available, crispy pan fried noodle, fried flat noodle (chow fun), and the ever popular vermicelli with various grilled meats. Menu also includes extensive rice dishes, ranging from the typical yang chow fried rice to hainan steamed chicken with rice. The bf and I tried the family style hot pot and were impressed by the comfortable dining experience and the quality of food. First, we were ushered into a small individual dinning room near the entrance. I think this is possibly as intimate as you can get in an Asian restaurant. For the price point, the restaurant is clean as a whistle and it is so very refreshing that they don't have food posters plastered on walls or windows. After the young lady took our drink order, the owner/operator greeted us and recommended items from a checklist that he feels are most suitable for hot pot. The available items are not too outrageous by comparison to some hot pot places in Monterey Park. On the list are some of the usual suspects: chicken breast meat, sliced rib eye steak, lamb, shrimp, mussel, fish balls, meatballs, tripe, tendon, tofu, Chinese veggies, different types of mushroom, and glass noodle. Admittedly, we were not too concern with the missing exotic items, like intestines, pork blood, pork kidney and such. There are three types of broth to choose from or you can opt for the half & half, two types in the pot; separated in its own chamber. We went with the half & half, Spicy Thai Tom Yum broth and the house original broth. Both were on point, not too spicy and the house broth was sweet and infused with gogi berries, sweet chinese dates aroma. Service was superb, the owner was friendly and chatted up with us in Cantonese. One of the best designed menu I've seen in an Asian restaurant in recent years. No spelling errors, easy to understand menu, dishes are separated by category and drinks are on the last page. To top it off, the menu is in 4 languages, English, Vietnamese, Chinese and Korean. I very rarely give 5 stars. Most of my reviews are three stars. Today, I was truly impressed. I wanted Vietnamese, but haven't eaten it often because the rice noodles and rice quickly raise blood sugar. (Damn you, diabetes! You're gonna be beat!) But, I figured I could do some and then go work out so and bring it down. I saw that Pho Ever was open and they are advertising 30% off. I had to give them a try. The location used to be a cook-it-yourself Korean barbecue place. They haven't changed much about the place, even keeping the special cooktop tables. (I don't think they are operational anymore.) There are little private rooms for four and a sunroom-type area in front. The decor is hard wood, accented by vines, vases and a few paintings. There were maybe 500 people working today. They were all in a constant state of motion. I saw a guy just mopping the back, by the bathrooms. He was either wasting time or being completely thorough. At one point, I looked for a spoon and there were none in the tray on the table. I stood up and a young man ran over to me and asked what I needed. "You sit, I find. Relax!" That kind of shocked me, but I appreciated the eagerness. I ordered the P2: Pho large combo with rare slices of steak, well done brisket, flank, endon, tripe and meat balls. (Pho Dac Biet). It was quite a large bowl. I hesitate to see what the extra large bowl looks like. The broth was darker than I have ever seen in other pho shops, but it also had a depth of flavor that I have never encountered before. The noodles had a chew to them that was nice. The thin slices of beef were tender and had great beef flavor. The only thing that wasn't up to speed were the meatballs. They were super chewy and had no flavor at all. I was able to add the Thai basil, lime and jalapeno. What was missing was some cilantro, but that could have just been oversight. I don't eat tendon, but I like the flavor it can add to the soup, so I just push them to the side. I was excited to see that they have Banh Xeo, though I didn't order it. I got 2 spring rolls, instead. They were chewy with delicious shrimp inside. The real winner, though, was the peanut sauce. It was thick and full of pickled carrots and crushed peanuts. I added a bit of sambal to it, to kick up the flavor. I literally scooped the remaining bit out and ate it with my spoon. Yes, it was that good! I got an iced tea. Like many Vietnamese teas, the clear color belies its flavor. It was strong and refreshing. The most expensive thing on the menu is less than $8. I had the pho, the spring rolls and thetea were $9.05. I can't beat that! The owner gave me some business cards and asked me to give them to my friends. He said, "We need more customers." So my experience started off great! They sat us quickly and were very nice. Our waitress was extremely sweet and answered all of our questions. As a beverage I ordered the Thai milk tea with boba and it was very good. We ordered egg rolls,to start with, which ever very good so I was really excited for my pho,the rare and well done brisket. For many years I would pass by this place and the name would always catch my eye. Finally got around to trying it out and I'm so glad I did! I love bun bo hue so much more than I like pho so I was happy to see that they offer it here! Theirs is really tasty and they aren't skimpy at all with the meat. I also really liked their nem nuong spring rolls! Delicious. I could get full by eating just two of them. I haven't had their pho yet but I'm sure it's great based on the reviews! I really love the layout of the restaurant. It gives a more private feel to it because there are walls that divide the tables on the sides so you get a bit more privacy. Ordered the Chicken Cha Gio, but the the wrapper didn't seem to be made out of the thin rice wrapper. It seemed more like the standard wheat based wonton skin which fries up rather soft. Not very impressive when compared with the fabulous Cha Gio from Golden Deli in San Gabriel or Cordon Bleu in San Francisco. The Nem Nuong which is a fresh spring roll that has a tranlucent rice wrapper covering which includes a sausage like pork spiced with garlic, black pepper & other herbs and lettuce, spearmint, carrots. rice vermicelli. The Nem Nuong was meaty & redolent with garlic, and it was tamed by the addition of green vegetables & a touch of refreshing mint. Dipping the Nem Nuong spring rolls into a thickened peanut sauce added even more Umami flavour. However, I also added Nuoc Cham or sweetened fish sauce into the peanut sauce to add even more meaty complexity. I can see why this would be the signature dish at Pho Ever. The waiter even took pride to tell us that many of the customers refer to Brodard restaurant in Orange County when relating to the Nem Nuong at Pho Ever. The Hainan Chicken Rice is originally from the island of Hainan which is a large Chinese Island off the southern coast of China. However, with the diaspora of southern Chinese in the past, Hainan Chicken Rice has been spread across most of Southeast Asia. The chicken is usually boiled at lower than boiling temperature in chicken and/or pork stock. The rice is cooked in chicken stock to add more broth-like flavour to the rice. My Hainan chicken was only white breast meat put over raw greens. A lightly yellow tinted cooked rice was served with the yellow tint supposedly from the yellow chicken oil based stock in which it was cooked. However, I couldn't detect that my chicken rice was cooked in a rich broth. A stronger tasting Nuoc Cham was included as the dipping sauce. The ice tea here is thankfully not Lipton Orange Pekoe tea, but it is a luxurious Jasmine tea redolent of the eponymous flower. The bouquet came through even though the tea was cold which means much tea was used to obtain this level of flavour potency. Pho Ever did not skimp on this detail. The owner & the waiter were both friendly & the service was good.
