It was a hot day outside temperature wise and I came across this place for lunch (I am new to the area) and thought to myself, pho sounds really good right now but it's too hot to eat it. I said to heck with it as my sinuses were flaring up and decided to give it a try (so glad I did)! I was greeted promptly by a server and had my choice of seating. They have a pretty extensive menu for being so small and I opted for the 12.95 lunch pho special so I ordered veggie and it came out piping hot and was a big bowl! I also ordered a spring roll a la carte on their lunch menu for 3 bucks which was also big and tasty. Service was excellent and the servers were super sweet and attentive. I got cubes of meat that was supposed to be birria so was little thrown off by that. Maybe I'm just a huge birria lover but I wish the birria flavor was more pronounced. I thought it was a walk up and order at the counter type of place but they actually seat you and take your order. It was pretty clean too. The customer service is nice. It comes with white rice or garlic noodles. They also serve a side salad and some pho broth with it which is nice. 4.5 stars Chicken wings: they have a small and larger order. The option to choose bone in or boneless. 6 for bone in and 10'for boneless which is fair. I hate when they charge you the same for the same amount. To me, chicken wings aren't wings if there's no bone, so I opted for bone in. They have different flavors to choose from. I chose the lemon pepper. It was good but the chicken pieces were in the smaller side. 4 stars. They have the option to scan your bill and pay through your phone, or you can pay using Apple Pay or traditional card and cash. A light yet filling pho. In addition to pho, the restaurant also serves a variety of other rice dishes, dry vermicelli dishes, drinks, and entrees. The service is quick. You won't have any trouble finding parking as it's located in a shopping plaza with ample space. My only qualm about this restaurant is that each time I've visited, there are always so many flies and gnats. I will 100% be back. All the workers are so kind and attentive. I felt so welcomed and like my dining experience mattered. And boy did they deliver in a good experience. They immediately provide a welcoming automosphere and they explained the menu to us because we never been there before. I checked out Pho Hoa in Cypress after my dentist visit. The place is super clean. I ordered the tofu spring rolls with peanut sauce and for $5 you get two huge rolls packed with fresh veggies, vermicelli and tofu. For the price it was definitely worth it. Fresh, light, served with a tasty peanut sauce. Menu has all the usual Vietnamese staples like pho and vermicelli bowls, plus other sides and drinks. Service was friendly and quick. I ordered the garlic steak pho, and my wife ordered the steak & brisket pho, we both ordered the large bowls, something that we would regret later. We also ordered a fried roll. First the roll, full of meat and veggies, not just all egg roll wrapper, served with a dipping sauce, very good as a starter. The pho's as I stated before were amazing! very flavorful, full of noodles and both had good portions of meat. This is Pho Hoa's newest location in the OC. When the pho cravings hit recently, I decided to drop in for a meal. Looking over the menus, there were plenty of classic Vietnamese food options, including some unique dishes and soups, but I stuck to the lunch special menu for now. The drinks menu looked amazing, but I will try one next time. I ordered the Steak and Brisket Pho lunch and one Summer Roll. As expected, you get a side dish with veggies to add to the pho bowl, which came out pretty quickly and steaming hot. The broth was light yet flavorful and satisfying. I was greeted at the door by a friendly older man. He's prob the owner or manager. Either way, very welcoming. The flavor profile is nice. I got the brisket & beef bone for $18. A solid spot for pho in Cypress! As soon as you walk in, you can smell the rich broth and spices. The pho itself is flavorful, with plenty of green onion, and definitely hit the spot. This place has only been open for a few months and already downhill. The first time we came when it opened it was a solid spot for pho, then we stopped this week it was dirty the floors are filthy, the waitress cleaned the table right before we sat down and it smelled like mildew! New pho spot that just opened up in Cypress! They'll be having their official grand opening on 8/2 and 8/3 from 11am-9pm with 50% off regular pho & tropical drinks. Located inside a plaza so there's plenty of free parking. They offer lunch specials between 11-2:30pm. For the pho they offer regular or large size and for the lunch special its slightly smaller than regular. The small from the lunch special was the perfect portion for me especially since I got a few other items to try. The broth was flavorful and made me feel cozy. The vermicelli was fresh and the grilled pork was delicious. The popcorn chicken was okay, some were crispy while others were more of a soggy consistency. Rib meat slid right off the bone effortlessly. The brisket pieces in the bowl were just enough. They give a lot of noodle for large size however; the texture of the noodle was too Al dente for me. I don't know if they use an off brand or if the noodle was blanched enough. The chili oil is a nice touch and self serve condiment section on the table is a plus. Pho Hoa is one of the newer pho places to open in the Cypress area, on Katella across from Target. We went during their soft opening period and the menu was limited. When they open fully, more items will appear on the menu. Beyond "standard" pho noodles, Pho Hoa offers specials auch as beef rib and brisket birria pho, as well as drinks (smoothies, slushies, tea). The "normal" beef pho tai had a tasty soup, with no msg aftertaste, but the noodles were too soft and clumpy; felt like they had been cooked and sat in the bowl before the soup went in. Strangely, the spicy sate pho had perfect noodles and the soup was very tasty with just a good kick. It seemed strange that two similar noodles ordered at the same time would differ so much but hopefully that gets sorted as they go full open. Soup is the key for pho and Pho Hoa delivered in that respect. The seared garlic steak pho had a roasted meat flavor to the broth and the spicy sate wasn't too spicy but had a nice sate flavor layer. I was near by and i wanted soup, most places close at 8 pm and i was deciding if I wanted Korean or Vietnamese and I was looking around and saw this place, it looks new. I been to different Pho Hoa and this one is definitely different from the rest. Most of the waiters and waitresses are young here, like in their 20's. The place doesn't look fancy but what caught my eye was their menu, it looks fancy to me. The picture looks so good lol. I looked through the whole menu and is pretty pricey. They charge the appetizers $3 EACH egg rolls or spring rolls, that's ridiculous. Most restaurants charges $6-$8 for a set of 2-3 pieces, not 1 piece. I ordered their signature pho, it comes with one big piece of beef ribs $20 and an order of popcorn chicken $9.95. I want to try the egg rolls but I'm not going to pay $3 for 1. So they brought out the popcorn chicken and it looks burnt, nothing like the picture. It doesn't look fresh, is been fried again because you can see the clot is dark and crispier. It wasn't good, I only ate the meaty pieces, the sweet sauce is not homemade, is those sweet sauce you get from a package for the egg rolls at any fast food restaurants. The beef ribs pho was bland, the broth doesn't taste like beef broth. Even after adding the hoisin sauce and hot sauce with the lemon, it feels like something is missing. The beef ribs was hard to get the meat off. I thought the meat would just slide off the bone but I had to gnaw it so hard that I gave up, is not worth the $20. Is better just to get the regular combination pho instead. Unless you want to keep gnawing the bone like an animal lol grrrr... and the other table, they got 2 beef ribs. Why I only got 1 piece ? Is it because I'm a skinny man and the other table were bigger people ? So after they drop off the food, the waitress came by once to see how I was doing. I still gave her a $5 tips and my meal was about $30. So for $35, something I can't even eat is a big waste of money. Is better just to go to another pho place and get the same thing and you can actually eat everything. For the owner; how can you serve old popcorn chicken like that to customers ? I also saw another table ordered the same thing and they got what I got too, burnt and super crispy looking popcorn chicken. Maybe you should change the menu picture to what you actually are serving instead of deceiving people. Will I come back ? Heck NO, do I recommend this restaurant ? Heck NO. went here with a friend who had heard amazing things about this place and left disappointed. the large pho wasn't large enough and the accoutrements were lacking - not enough mint or variety of garnishes. the shaken beef was lacking any flavor - the best thing on that plate (in my opinion) was the thousand island/sesame oil dressing on the little side salad. the ambiance was nice and clean, the service was okay (only like 2 people working and the pho came out well before the shaken beef), and the food was just okay. i really wish i had something nicer to say, but ultimately just wouldn't recommend :( read more
