Ayce Menu A 25.95 Spot can be tricky to spot as it's tucked over by the corner. Quality of the meats - 5/5 All were of great cut and not chewy at all. Skipped the chicken so I can't give an assessment. Pros - Had no problem asking for 8 plates of meats on the first round. Everything was fresh at the seafood section. Only thing missing from the bar was fried tofu. Ladles and tongs are right by the bar which is nice. Sauce Bar - 4/5 Had a lot of the essentials needed but caters more to the Vietnamese side. Staff - Genuinely Attentive while stopping by several times (4) making sure everything was great. Ensured if additional plates of meats needed to be served. Broth- 4/5 Needs some work as wasn't digging the collagen broth. Overall , after all the cooking, the soup tends to get tastier. Their hot sauce collection is actually fire. and you have to try their XO sauce !! Their selection of different broths is larger than most places and isnt overly salty. I love that I couldnt even see the white rice or find it. And I love that they only really have tiny or small amount of noodles serving as if they know asians are going to try and stay away from the carbs until the end like asians do. lol. I feel like the past year or so has been quite a journey for seeking out the most affordable all-you-can eat hot pots that have a reasonable Lunch Special. I started out with these places: Shabuya $20.99 House of Shabu $21.99 Avenue Shabu $23.99 All That Shabu $29.99 (!!) Bo No Nabe blew them all out of the water with their 19.99 lunch special! I especially love that they offer Szechuan broth, which is my favorite hot pot flavor. It was perfectly seasoned - not too spicy, not too salty, just really flavorful. They also had the meats I usually go for, like pork belly and toro, so I was happy right away. They have a small seafood, veggie, and sauce bar, but it had everything I wanted, so no complaints there. The restaurant itself is nicely decorated with a cozy atmosphere. The hot pot burners are separate units instead of built into the tables, which I actually didn't mind at all. Overall, delicious food, friendly service, and plenty of parking. And with the lowest price I have found so far - definitely a spot I'd come back to. read more

Very disappointing experience. We visited around lunchtime, and my wife, who is pregnant, noticed a strange taste in the meat. I tried it as well and found it had an unpleasant smell and aftertaste. We attempted to explain the issue to our server, but it seemed there was a language barrier, and our concern was not clearly understood. We asked if the dish could be replaced, but no action was taken. After waiting about 10-15 minutes without any resolution, we decided to leave as we had lost our appetite. We did a Yelp search and after about 30 minutes of calling around, we decided to try this restaurant out. The place is small and appears to be family-owned. We went with Combo A since we don't eat much and that was plenty for us. It's about $25 per person before tax and tips. Although you can get up to 5 cuts of meat/protein, we didn't want anything other than the eye round beef. The sliced chicken was dark meat chicken so I didn't want any. My husband had a few slices of it. We told the server we didn't want the pork belly nor the el toro beef (too fatty for us). The seafood and vegetables bar was plentiful. It had all the greens and veggies that I like (taro, squash, bamboo shoots, mushroom varieties, etc.), in addition to the fish, shrimp, clams, fish balls, fish tofu, egg, so that's plenty to choose from. Pay for what you eat, no need to pay extra for what you don't want. I really like their mixed jello dessert drink. The jello has the perfect firmness. Service was good. But the girl that served us never came back to offer us more meat after the first round (although we didn't really want more). The guy (owner?) came by to pick up the dirty dishes and asked if we wanted more meat. Told him maybe a couple slices of the lean beef but we didn't want a whole plate. So he brought out two thin, large pieces of beef, which was perfect. It started off pretty quiet, but more people began coming in as it got closer to lunchtime. Overall, I'd highly recommend checking this place out if you're in the area. I'm the typical hot pot type of person that goes to Broth is what I want to start off by saying but today my wife was sick and wanted to try something near so we branched away from our usual. Broth has variety while broth is limited regardless of that don't let it deter you from coming here because for the price, you're getting a fair amount of choices. We opted for combo A because we mainly like beef and it was pretty good for the price. (Side note if you pay cash or Zelle, they give you a 10% discount) I forgot to take pictures of the sides bar, but they had a pretty good variety there too from shrimp, beef/fish balls, lettuce, cabbage, mushrooms, different sauces etc. I want to give a big shoutout to our server Nhien who was attentive to us because as the saying goes, You can always order more and not order less (they add a 15% Surcharge for wasted food) because me and my wife were ordering maybe 2-3 plates of meat every time she visit and I for sure ate about 10 plates. So once again, thanks for your patience and attentiveness. Went here to try their lunch special for $19. I loved that they opened at 1030am. My daughter still takes a nap so it's hard for me to get lunch foods around her nap and before picking up my older kids from school. We walked in a couple minutes after 1030am and it was clearly a shock to the hostess. They were still getting things set up and going but I didn't mind it. The restaurant was clean and open. It felt welcoming. The lunch special comes with choice of broth and 5 meat options. There was a big sauce bar that my husband loved and many buffet options with fruit, noodles veggies, seafood, and even some cooked beef. I ate more items from the buffet than meat ordered. This hot pot is more Vietnamese flavors. We tried the signature broth and spicy suchan. The signature was really good. My daughter was just drinking it as a soup. The spicy suchan wasn't great. My husband added a lot of sauces to it to customize for himself. I wanted to try the hot and sour (tom yum) but we were only allowed 2 broths. I'll try it next time. We were there for 90 minutes and were the only customers the whole time. Makes me think the earlier opening won't last long but I'll enjoy it while I can. read more

Great value for lunch or if you want to splurge get Menu C for great ox tail, shrimp , and meats! Food: we got the dinner menu C. The meat was cut perfectly where it cooks within a few seconds in the broth. Quality of meat is on par with Shabuya. The main objective for me was ox tail (it falls off the bone and so good) and second was the shrimp. It tastes like the same ones from boiling crab. Highly recommend the golden broth it tastes like a beef base with a savory hint of ginger (healthy and good at the same time!) Service: 5/5 great service and they were super attentive! Decided to give this place a try since most places don't have a pot of 4 broths. All of the broths were amazing! Just sucks how the propane goes out and the worker has to put in a new one. Has a salaf and sauce bar like any other place. The meats however are sliced pretty thinly so it's hard to pick up with chopsticks and will stick to it. The price of this place is pretty affordable so I guess you get what you pay for. The szechuan broth and tom yum broth was lacking flavor, I had to add a bunch of seasoning to make up for it. I wish i took a picture of it, but the szechuan was missing its signature red color and peppers and just looked bland. There is a variety of toppings but could be better options available. There were only a few noodle options available as well. The hot bar section looked like it has been sitting out. The complimentary lemonade or orange was also not that good. They give out free Walmart branded ice cream. The first round of meats we received were reallly good! However the next few plate were tiny piece of meat that disappeared in the soup? For all you Shabu lovers & enthusiasts like me, Bò no Nabe is a different place to try, but it's not a memorable wow place. The bestie wanted to try somewhere new with our families after a fun-filled pickleball Saturday, so we Yelp found this spot. Located on the far right side of the Hanmi Plaza on Garden Grove Blvd, it's a quaint Shabu joint with a basic exterior, but once you go inside, it's more lively with Japanese inspired decor. It has a spacious seating area with the buffet style bar along the far middle wall. A sauce bar lies besides it to the left. They even have an ice cream freezer with ice cream sandwiches for dessert. The staff was very attentive, however, don't expect them to clear up your table from empty dishes while you eat. Ours kept piling up and we had to collect them to one corner of the table. The staff was easy to flag down for more meat orders and/or drink refills though. The prices are decent for AYCE, but you pay for what you get, as the meats are really thinly sliced. They fall apart on the tray when you try to pick them up with chopsticks. I did like that you can choose up to 4 broths ~ which we settled on the Bo no Nabe House, Tom Yum, Miso & Yamaki. My favs out of the bunch was the Tom Yum (which was a lil sour & spicy) & Yamaki (which was a Yamaki Mentsuyu with teriyaki paste). If you are like me..you are like huh?..I had to google it too, it's ok lol but apparently Yamaki Mentsuyu is a popular, concentrated Japanese noodle soup base (dashi) known for its rich, savory-sweet flavor from high-quality bonito flakes (katsuobushi), soy sauce, mirin, and kombu. The burners took a hot minute to heat up our broths, a huge contrast to those built-in table shabu stoves at most places..so sucks if you are hangry. Lol..gotta wait! Having dined at many of good Shabu spots all across OC, the buffet bar is pretty minimal here. The veggie & seafood selection is ok, not great. The staff did do a good job at restocking the bar, but it isn't as fresh as you'd expect. I didn't try it, but they had like 3 items on their prepared mini-bar ~ fried rice, a ramen bag, & a fried item that I couldn't make out. To conclude the meal, if you are craving sweats, there was some fruit (watermelon), almond jello and a grass jelly with basil seeds ché. The sauces were ok, even the best attempt of my concoctions couldn't make it close to my bomb secret sauce at All that Shabu. All in all, try Bò no Nabe if you want something new & different, but IMO, there are plenty others in the area that might be more supreme. Update! I initially gave this Shabu place 3 stars, but had to decrease to 2 because shortly after eating here, I developed a pounding headache..which is my personal trigger when there is a high content of MSG in the foods I consumed. First of all, the price!!! 10/10 for weekdays $18.79 from 10:30 to 3pm. The buffet tables are more than enough for me. Seafood & vegetables are what I was looking for. Beef tripes & jumbo shrimps were perfect. I wish they have green onion for my sauce :-( the soups broth were good. I had the spicy one & my son had the original. Both were great.
