    Lunch Special $19.99! | IG @moniquedao

I feel like the past year or so has been quite a journey for seeking out the most affordable all-you-can eat hot pots that have a reasonable Lunch Special. I started out with these places: Shabuya $20.99 House of Shabu $21.99 Avenue Shabu $23.99 All That Shabu $29.99 (!!) Bo No Nabe blew them all out of the water with their 19.99 lunch special! I especially love that they offer Szechuan broth, which is my favorite hot pot flavor. It was perfectly seasoned - not too spicy, not too salty, just really flavorful. They also had the meats I usually go for, like pork belly and toro, so I was happy right away. They have a small seafood, veggie, and sauce bar, but it had everything I wanted, so no complaints there. The restaurant itself is nicely decorated with a cozy atmosphere. The hot pot burners are separate units instead of built into the tables, which I actually didn't mind at all. Overall, delicious food, friendly service, and plenty of parking. And with the lowest price I have found so far - definitely a spot I'd come back to.

Came back after last time I had good experience but this time it's odd. The broth doesnt taste like last time..flavor was lacking and I did tell the server, she added some more "crab" flavor in but still lacking. Last time we had 6 plates of meat, thjs time 9 plates and the server was not happy with it. Maybe it's the last time I come here again.. $33 per person add $10 more for 2 more broth. Came out nearly $100 (with tip) I think 9 plates of meat is not a problem? And how much customer eat is a problem? I don't think so.

Nice new hot pot place in garden grove. Great deal on the lunch special which comes with 5 different meat selections, seafood and salad bar. Bonus on the dessert bar as well! Staff was also very kind and attentive.

    Transaction with the restaurant.

Very disappointing experience. We visited around lunchtime, and my wife, who is pregnant, noticed a strange taste in the meat. I tried it as well and found it had an unpleasant smell and aftertaste. We attempted to explain the issue to our server, but it seemed there was a language barrier, and our concern was not clearly understood. We asked if the dish could be replaced, but no action was taken. After waiting about 10-15 minutes without any resolution, we decided to leave as we had lost our appetite. I still paid the bill with a tip, but I believe a manager should have stepped in to assist and address the situation properly. Overall, this experience was frustrating and disappointing.

Cute little restaurant with a great lunch deal. $20 for ayce lunch shabu. All the broths kind of tasted the same so I can't comment but the sauce bar was pretty stocked and had a little bit of everything. Service was quick and efficient, ambiance was festive for the new years. I liked that they had some sweet things on the side for dessert like fruit and coconut jelly. The meat was solid, for $20 bucks u can't beat it.

So we wanted seafood buffet tonight but my husband didn't want to drive all the way to Fullerton. We did a Yelp search and after about 30 minutes of calling around, we decided to try this restaurant out. The place is small and appears to be family-owned. We went with Combo A since we don't eat much and that was plenty for us. It's about $25 per person before tax and tips. Although you can get up to 5 cuts of meat/protein, we didn't want anything other than the eye round beef. The sliced chicken was dark meat chicken so I didn't want any. My husband had a few slices of it. We told the server we didn't want the pork belly nor the el toro beef (too fatty for us). The seafood and vegetables bar was plentiful. It had all the greens and veggies that I like (taro, squash, bamboo shoots, mushroom varieties, etc.), in addition to the fish, shrimp, clams, fish balls, fish tofu, egg, so that's plenty to choose from. Pay for what you eat, no need to pay extra for what you don't want. I really like their mixed jello dessert drink. The jello has the perfect firmness. Service was good. But the girl that served us never came back to offer us more meat after the first round (although we didn't really want more). The guy (owner?) came by to pick up the dirty dishes and asked if we wanted more meat. Told him maybe a couple slices of the lean beef but we didn't want a whole plate. So he brought out two thin, large pieces of beef, which was perfect. Overall, it was good, nothing fancy as other shabu places I've been too, but that was fine for me because that's all I wanted to eat and there was more than enough.

This is a solid Viet hot pot spot in OC! We ordered Combo B and it was honestly the perfect amount, great variety without feeling overwhelming. The AYCE bar is convenient with fresh veggies, seafood, noodles, and a full sauce station so you can customize everything exactly how you like it. I really like how it wasn't overly crowded like other hotpot spots (we came on a Saturday evening too). Everything was pretty clean, some ingredients were well stocked while others had to be replenished. The broth paired so well with the meats from Combo B, and I really liked the tom yum broth because it was tangy! The balance of flavors made every bite comforting and satisfying. It's the kind of place that works for casual dinners, group hangouts, or when you're just craving something warm and cozy.

Vietnamese hot pot? Love it! For dinner for the cheapest price is 25$ and having a choice of 5 meats for ACYE. I didn't need the fancy meats - I just need good broth, veggies and meat! The star of the show here is having chao as a sauce choice!! I grew up eating chao and have never seen any restaurants have this option as a sauce. Service was good - they are attentive and friendly. We tried the tom yum and yamaki broth - highly recommend!!

Love this place! My new favorite hot pot. Their broth options taste better than other places and they have a lot of sauce options. Their veggie options aren't as good as other places but I'll take great broth and sauces over that. They also have a grass jelly dessert and hot tea included. Definitely recommend!

I'm the typical hot pot type of person that goes to Broth is what I want to start off by saying but today my wife was sick and wanted to try something near so we branched away from our usual. Broth has variety while broth is limited regardless of that don't let it deter you from coming here because for the price, you're getting a fair amount of choices. We opted for combo A because we mainly like beef and it was pretty good for the price. (Side note if you pay cash or Zelle, they give you a 10% discount) I forgot to take pictures of the sides bar, but they had a pretty good variety there too from shrimp, beef/fish balls, lettuce, cabbage, mushrooms, different sauces etc. I want to give a big shoutout to our server Nhien who was attentive to us because as the saying goes, You can always order more and not order less (they add a 15% Surcharge for wasted food) because me and my wife were ordering maybe 2-3 plates of meat every time she visit and I for sure ate about 10 plates. So once again, thanks for your patience and attentiveness. Im going to give it a 5 because I was happy but initially opted to give it a 4 because it didn't have the variety I wanted such as kaarage or rice but I was happy and won't dock it from them.

Went here to try their lunch special for $19. I loved that they opened at 1030am. My daughter still takes a nap so it's hard for me to get lunch foods around her nap and before picking up my older kids from school. We walked in a couple minutes after 1030am and it was clearly a shock to the hostess. They were still getting things set up and going but I didn't mind it. The restaurant was clean and open. It felt welcoming. The lunch special comes with choice of broth and 5 meat options. There was a big sauce bar that my husband loved and many buffet options with fruit, noodles veggies, seafood, and even some cooked beef. I ate more items from the buffet than meat ordered. This hot pot is more Vietnamese flavors. We tried the signature broth and spicy suchan. The signature was really good. My daughter was just drinking it as a soup. The spicy suchan wasn't great. My husband added a lot of sauces to it to customize for himself. I wanted to try the hot and sour (tom yum) but we were only allowed 2 broths. I'll try it next time. We were there for 90 minutes and were the only customers the whole time. Makes me think the earlier opening won't last long but I'll enjoy it while I can.

    Novia E.

I gave four stars because the staffs are nice and friendly. To be honest, the food quality and ambience are just meh. Nothing really special about this place that makes it unique. The broth itself is not too flavorful like at hot pot places that I've been to. I feel like this place has a lot of potential, but they just don't deliver it in terms of quality and variations. Parking is plenty in the plaza and easy access.

@coffeeshopsofoc follow for more We checked out Bò No NaBe in Garden Grove and it was such a good time. The setup is super easy and you get four different broths that keep getting refilled so you never run out of anything. The broth choices all had their own flavor and it was fun switching between them while everything cooked. The seafood and meat selection was fresh and they bring it out fast. We ordered a bunch of different things and everything came out clean and well prepped. The noodles and veggies were perfect for filling the table and it all cooks right in front of you so you can make it exactly how you like it. The place is casual and the staff was really friendly. They checked on us often without being too much. It's one of those spots where you end up staying longer because you're just comfortable and having a good time cooking and eating. I would definitely go back, especially with a group.

The first staff member told us that dogs were allowed and that we could stay on the patio. However, no one clearly explained that the dog was not allowed to sit on a restaurant chair. We were already in the middle of dinner when another staff member suddenly came over and told us to put our dog on the ground immediately. We were then told that if we could not do so, we needed to leave. We were not trying to ignore the restaurant's rules. If someone had clearly explained the policy when we arrived, we would have followed it. What was upsetting was being allowed to sit down and start our dinner without being told about the restriction, only to be confronted about it in the middle of our meal. We simply paid our bill and left rather than create a problem. I completely understand that restaurants can have rules about pets, and we are happy to respect reasonable rules. But those rules need to be communicated clearly and consistently, especially before customers are seated. The way this situation was handled felt unnecessary and very uncomfortable. I hope management can use this as an opportunity to make the pet policy clear to customers and ensure that all staff communicate the same information from the beginning.

Chose House Spicy Broth and chose the lunch option (which includes only 3 meat and chicken). That's not bad for $22. Premium is $41 but adds other stuff including wagyu meat. You can order selected meat as separate to be added to your current AyCE plan. What's separate this place from others is that you can choose to have a divider and not. Divider is an option if you/your party don't like mixing stuff with another broth. Chose no divider. Drinks are included as well, water is by request only if you don't like soda (Pepsi products) Like other AyCE hot pots, there's the area where it has all your selected vegetables, seafood, noodles and sauces. All are continently label so you know what you are getting. There's an area where selected hot sides are there like pad sew/fried rice and even fried gyoza. Choosing no divider can be overwhelming because then pot is so big that not even four full plates is not enough to cover the whole pot. Was eating for over 30 minutes and I just realized I forgot I got shrimp Only complaint is that getting house spicy broth can be annoying because you will be scooping up those red schwann peppers everytime you dive into your hotpot. Overall, highly recommend on giving this place a try.

The menu was QR code only, I know this is a downside for some, not so much for me, but worth mentioning. It might be hard to find but it's located in the raising claw at the corner of the plaza! We got the premium set which came with SO much meat. The quality of all the meats were very good and diverse. Our server Hayden was also very knowledgeable on all the cuts and attentive to our needs. He was switching out plates for us and bringing in new foods in the set menu as we ate. The restaurant set up is nice too, you don't have to worry about crammed tables as they have carts to put your extra plates on so you have plenty of room to eat. Overall the experience was fun and the food was really good, the price point is high but definitely worth it since you get a lot of meats and seafood as well. Personally I'd place this location better than mokkoji or Shabuya :).

I was satisfied with the plate of veggies and udon they provided, my only issue was the rice. I wish I took a picture but it had brown bits and was too mushy. I bought a second bowl of rice for my son to eat and he ended up spitting it out and I didn't eat mine. It was overall a good visit, service was nice and they were not busy around 1:15pm when we came for late Friday lunch. If they could fix the rice it would be better!

I say it all the time and I'll say it again- Mokkoji is my absolute favorite place for shabu shabu!…read more Everything from the fresh quality of meat and veggies, broth flavor, attentive service, to the overall ambiance of the place has always made me want to continue coming back. This garden grove location in particular is not as crowded as its other locations in OC but it's great since I don't usually have to wait in line :) I always get the Spicy Pork broth which is $5 extra but is well worth the price if you want a more rich and flavorful broth. The veggie bowls come with each order of meat and they're my second favorite part of the meal. My favorite part would be the meats themselves. They're so fresh and well-marinated and I love dipping them into the sauces they provide on the side. I would recommend my personal faves, the flat iron and toro. Additionally, the 2 times I've been here I've been given complimentary sake on the house. Though I'm not the biggest fan of sake, I appreciate a restaurant giving out complimentary drinks. It adds to a customer's overall experience :)

She didn't seem to care that the restaurant was busy or that other customers were trying to enjoy their meals. I came here to enjoy the food after work in a good environment, but that girl made it difficult to do that. That was the only thing that made me feel uncomfortable. Otherwise, the food was good.

I went with a friend on Friday and was excited to go with my bf on Sunday! If you haven't tried lotus salad, I would highly recommend it! Such an astounding crunch from the lotus, with satiable citrus flavors as the base. Shrimp and beef were cooked to perfection. We also tried razor clams which were flavorful and had a really easy chew to it. If I can't chew it under 1-2 minutes, I'm not going to continue. lol I can basically have their baked catfish all week. The dish is so comforting and light. Definitely a no-guilt type of meal. The fish has a nice crisp on the outside and so tender on the inside. I like to load my spring roll up with a lot of the fish. :) I would say the medium sized fish can feed up to 3-4 people. My friends and I were only able to make a dent on a quarter of the fish and had to bring the rest home. If you haven't tried the plum soda, definitely recommend. So good!
