I only agreed to go here after checking if they had pho shrimp on their menu, and indeed they had it on there. Arrived after a late badminton session. It was a weekday and already late, so I was fine with just going home. However, I took the extra miles to drive over here only to be told they no longer serve shrimp and said I was looking at an old menu. Since I wasn't just looking at an old photo of the menu someone posted, I showed them their active menu on yelp and suggested they should update their menu. I then asked if they had anything without meat and his answer was white rice. You gotta be kidding me? Lol. My friend had to dig the menu a bit more to realize they serve pho noodles only as an option. When it comes to pho, I am not too picky if its cooked in bone broth, so I went ahead and ordered that because a bowl of plain rice at 11pm didn't seem appetizing and was wasted calories. 2 stars for the mediocre service and pho. I will never be convinced to come here again. read more

Pho Good is true to its name! We got the small and large size combination phos and it was super affordable. The phos came with a lot of meat and the broth was very homemade tasting! Super yummy and will definitely come back. Service is quick and the place is clean. It's open late too which is a big plus. read more

This pho restaurant opens pretty late which I like. I like their rare steak and tendon pho. Their broth is very flavorful and delicious. The service is very fast, and they accept cash and card. I got a size small for $13.75, which is a pretty good price. I felt like it was a lot of noodles and meat even for a size small. They don't offer free water. They charge $1 for a water bottle from Costco lol. read more

Pho Good has easily climbed the ranks for me in terms of pho. The soup has lots of depth and flavor, they give you tons of protein, and they open late. What's not to love? Pho good has seen me at my worst and best. I've come here with friends, family, and even solo. I order the Pho Nam Gau, it's my personal favorite. I like the amount of meat to fat. Order Hanh Dam (Pickled Onions) and Mo Hanh (Onion in Oil) and put sriracha on the Hanh Dam. I eat both of those with my meat. It adds a nice kick and freshness to each bite. Service is always good and the food comes out fast. The restaurant has plenty of seating. I don't think I've ever had to wait. I highly recommend trying Pho Good. read more

Came in super late after karaoke one night and this pho really hit the spot. Broth was super flavorful and was served pipping hot which is my favorite. Even though it was late they had a lot of employees and the place was pretty full. They did not bring my extra onion or lime as requested twice so I took off a star for that. Was pho good even good?!? Yes it was! I know the name actually turn me off but my niece said to go here and ok, I'll try it. Entered at 11:30am on a Tuesday and there were a few table already taken. We sat down and were given menus right away. Of course we had to order pho and it did not disappoint at all. Love the large noodle option. Broth was amazing and rich. I asked for a small plate of pickled onions. All came out quite fast. Instead of tap water, they sell bottled water for $1 per bottle. Not bad at all. Service was quick and we got to enjoy our pho on a chilly day. I will definitely come back. read more

My nail technician wouldn't stop talking about this place and she swore it was her local go to pho spot, so I figured I had to see what the hype was about. I went in during brunch time and it was steady traffic and they had a consistent flow of people coming in. As soon as I walked in, I was greeted by a really friendly lady. She was smiley and welcoming, which already set a good tone. Menus were handed out right away, no waiting around. I ordered the small house special pho and the portion size surprised me. It was a lot for a small. I also added ox tendon on the side and that came out huge too. Everything was generous. The meat portions, noodles, and especially the side veggies. You're not left feeling like they're shorting you on anything here.The meat was tender, easy to eat, and the broth was decent. It's one of those spots that just makes sense as a local go to. This was one of the worst experiences we have had going out to eat. My husband and I had went to get dinner before our movie and were not served. My husband is African American and I'm white. Two families came in after us and were served right away. We sat at the table for 7 minutes, not greeted, not given a menu or spoken too. We got up and left. Pho Good can confirm it is wasn't good like the name ! Food: I ordered HOUSE SPECIAL PHO $15.50 the big bowl with a lot of meat . and THE COMBO PHO $13.75 was the same , It's big portions. But after eating this phở I'm really thirsty and headache because of MSG too much. I can't stand restaurants that won't supply regular drinking tap water and they want to force you to buy bottle water. I told them I just want 2 cups of water they charged me a tiny glasses of water for $1 that's never happened in another phở restaurant around . Another places they're free water, tea , some places give free dessert. Service: Extremely slow. Would not recommend if you are on a schedule. I have to wait so long to get my food. I came here a few days ago, and it was my first time. The aroma of the soup lingered outside in the parking lot area. I had to try it out. On the menu I saw there was (ox Tail) pho, so I decided to order it. I will be very honest the portions are big for the price. But I've tried ox tail that was better. The service was great. Food was amazing. Wasn't too busy when I went. Service was fast. Interior was clean. Only thing is though is that in the Resturant there isn't any air. So it's warm inside while you are dining in. Still a place to go for all the occasional. Just landed from out of country trip and this is the 1st place to go for comfort food. It was raining so perfect to have some hot pho and VNese coffee and Thai tea and orange juice. The place is packed and we waited for 15mins and got a shared table with another group. Easy order with friendly service but waited abit (understandable since it packed) but within 20mins we got our foods. The prices are still the same but I think the noodle is less than b4, I could be wrong but either way, it hit all the right spots in the body. One of the good place to get pho but be warn, you will get really thirsty after eating this pho, not sure if they added more MSG and salt but keep that in mind. The Pho Dac Biet (Larger bowl) is $15.50 and it's HUGE and lots of meats, we also got a empty bowl to share since my mom didn't eat that much. We got the thicker pho noodles and the broth was really good, better than phoholic and even my mother approved and she knows and cooks Pho like every other month so if Mama Lanny approved, you gotta go. Services were okay, they were busy. BUSY and the place is small, limited seating so make sure to write down your party name and the number of people. We got there on a Sunday afternoon and it was PACKED. Keep in mind it was like 89 degree outside and this place was busy. Food came out like around 10 minutes for two large bowl of pho and it's piping HOT. My brother was here too and he ordered both bowls with the green onions broth likeit has the ends of it not sure that's the name of it but it was an added profile to the pho. Ambiance is normal, a bit loud but again, this is a Vietnamese restaurant so if you can't handle the noise level get some ear buds buddy. I don't mind, I grew up in a loud household and honestly it was nice to eat out once in a while since I don't live in this part of OC. And I beat my older brother for the check too, sorry not sorry Kody. LOL! if I'm back in this part of town, I will come here again and maybe try other things on the menu but this place is literraly called Pho Good so get the pho. read more

This place is small hole in the wall. But there is always a line people waiting to sit and dine. Shows the food is good to great! I ordered to go, the ox tail pho, the broth was really good 4 ! If u know me I don't give 5 stars unless everything is on point! They gave me a good amount of soup, I did order the large. The price for 2 ox tail pho plus a coffee, came out to be about $56 !! A little too pricey for pho. But they probably based off of demand of how the people are coming in. read more

My in-laws took me to Pho Good for the first time, and I was genuinely impressed. The pho was outstanding. The broth had a deep, rich flavor that felt perfectly balanced and seasoned just right. You can really taste the care that goes into it. I ordered the small pho Dac Biet, and it was more than enough. You can't beat generous portions at a great price. Everything was served hot and fresh, the restaurant was clean and comfortable, and the service was friendly and attentive. I absolutely love the pho here BUT today was another level of rude. We went in as a party of 8 and we were seated on a booth. In comes entitled older gen demanding that their party of 8 get our both. We asked the server if we could place our order and he stated (didn't ask) that he is going to move us to a different table to accommodate the other party. I look at him straight in the face and let him know we weren't going to move. They didn't move us because I stood my ground but what kind of customer service is that? It's been awhile since we have been here and I approve the OG taste. I order the same dish here; Pho Tai chin with large(wide) noodles. Don't come here. The worker saw us walking in and turned off the open sign. When we walked in he goes Togo only, with a full restaurant. We're two people mind you and it was 12:30. Why put your hours to 2am and not serve customers that come in? Don't waste your time pho may be good, but service is not. read more

Have been to this restaurant many times, and food is always consistent! Came visit to the restaurant last week, and ordered my favorite Grilled Escargot with Garlic Butter and Peppercorn, Grilled Scallops with Cheese, and my all-time favorite Chilean Sea Bass hot pot! The grilled escargots are a must-have when visiting this place! These are perfectly grilled with rich garlic butter for sweetness, and with a slight kick of spiciness from the peppercorn. Don't forget to also dip the escargot meat with black pepper and a few squeeze of fresh lime juice! If you like melted cheese, then the grilled scallops with cheese would be the perfect match. Each scallop is covered melted cheese and comes sizzling on a hot plate when ordered! Last but certainly not least, my favorite dish of this restaurant is the Chilean Sea Bass hot pot. The order comes with your own tabletop gas stove, along with a hot pot filled with a tom yum like sour soup base. For ingredients, it also includes a plate with slices of pineapple, quarter cut fresh tomato slices, fresh bean sprouts, rice noodles, and a full plate of large pieces of Chilean Sea Bass. Just put all the ingredients in the hot pot and let it cook for 5-10mins on high, I promise you it is one of the best soups you will ever have! Service is good as always. This place always seems to be busy, so you may have to be on the waitlist during certain business hours (eg holidays, prime dinner time, etc). Parking wise, the restaurant is located in a busy plaza, and so you may have to drive around a few times before finding an open spot. However as I said earlier, it's worth the wait. Highly recommended.

Be prepared: this place is incredibly popular, especially during peak hours. Parking can definitely be challenging because of how busy it is. The last time I visited on a Monday, the lot was completely full, and I ended up parking on the street. The restaurant is also primarily cash only, so come prepared. They open early, making it a perfect breakfast spot for an early bowl of pho. The pho broth is exactly what I want when I'm craving comfort food--clean, flavorful, and incredibly soothing. However, the star of the meal for me was the chả giò. Wow. Although they arrived after our pho, they came out at the perfect temperature. I was hesitant to take a bite right away because freshly fried food usually burns my mouth, but these were just right. Crispy, airy, savory, and absolutely delicious. Paired with their fish sauce, it was perfection. I enjoyed the egg rolls so much that next time I'm definitely ordering the egg roll vermicelli bowl. Service was friendly and prompt despite how busy it was, and it's clear the staff works hard to keep things moving. One thing I love is seeing all of the awards and accolades displayed on the walls. Phở 79 received the prestigious James Beard America's Classics Award, and it's easy to understand why after one meal here. This restaurant is truly an Orange County icon. The restaurant will soon be moving to a new location, as signs throughout the restaurant announce the upcoming move. While I'll miss the original spot, I'm excited for the new space--hopefully with more parking! Some places are worth the wait, and Phở 79 is absolutely one of them.

As consumers, we often rely on the names and reputations of establishments to guide our dining decisions. With its optimistic nomenclature, Pho Good might initially appear as a promising option for a comforting bowl of Pho. However, based on my experience, I feel compelled to advise potential patrons to consider other options. In my quest for flavorful Pho, I found that Pho Good fell significantly short. The key to a satisfying bowl of Pho is the rich, layered complexity of its broth. Unfortunately, at Pho Good, the broth lacked the depth of flavor and aromatic punch that is characteristic of authentic Vietnamese Pho. The experience was rather uninspiring and fell short of my expectations. The quality of the beef used in their Pho was another area of concern. Ideally, the beef in Pho should be tender, flavorful, and enhance the overall taste of the dish. However, the beef served at Pho Good was reminiscent of rubber bands in both texture and taste. It detracted from the eating experience, rather than adding to it, and made the overall meal less enjoyable. While it is often said that one should not judge a book by its cover, in this instance, my initial skepticism based on the restaurant's name seemed to hold true. The inclusion of words like 'good,' 'king,' or 'queen' in an establishment's name may be seen as a red flag, as my experience with Pho Good unfortunately aligns with this generalization. In summary, Pho Good did not meet the standards of flavor and quality I look for when seeking out a good Pho spot. If you are in search of an authentic and satisfying Pho experience, I would recommend exploring other options. My experience suggests that establishments with extravagant or overly optimistic names may not live up to their self-imposed titles, so choose wisely and let your palate guide you. read more

More like 3.5 stars. I came here after a long Disneyland day and surprisingly it was packed with customers dining in and getting take out. The customer service is really nice and it's a huge plus that they take card without any fees. We ordered 1 pho dac biet and 1 pho tai. The portions are large and their herb plate is very fresh but the broth is extremely sweet. Like so sweet I couldn't finish my bowl without feeling nauseous. I think it's definitely up to personal preference, but I probably wouldn't eat here again unless they change their broth. read more
