    Free range chicken broth pho
    May W.

Free range chicken broth pho: Great hearty warm pho noodle dish to get if you're under the weather or if it's just plain cold day. They plate the free range chicken like Hainan chicken. It's a bit savory if you eat it by itself, but great to consume with the noodle dish. Chicken broth was light, warm, and hearty. You can taste that the broth is brewed organically. Extra toppings: The extra side of toppings like the bean sprouts looked like they had green edges at the stems. Completely normal and safe to seat, because the sprouts have been exposed to light for awhile. Service was great. Quick to order and pay. More on the quiet side since it's a mom and pop shop.

I am fairly new to the SGV food scene having moved here a few months ago, but I have found that Pho Kadao is a place of comfort and delicious food. I visited here twice with my partner before moving here and ever since then it's been our go to for a meal when we feel like eating out. The staff are very attentive and so sweet, I appreciate their way of making conversation during every visit. The wait for your food is quick, it's hot and fresh when it comes out of the kitchen. We had their chicken wings during our last visit, they were so crispy and juicy. You can't go wrong with the chicken pho, the big portion is BIG so we usually take the leftovers to go. The virmicelli bowl is a great portion and I would say a shareable size (the egg roll is so tasty and crisp, one of my favssss)! Def will have to come back soon!

    chicken pho w/ white meat

Came here with a friend around 6:30 PM on a Monday evening. I hadn't previously tried chicken pho, but I was craving something on the lighter side! Apparently, this spot is a Vietnamese/Peruvian fusion, so you can also find dishes such as lomo saltado on the menu. My friend and I both ordered the chicken pho with glass noodles and white meat. Unfortunately, they were all sold out of dark meat, so if that's your favorite, I recommend going earlier in the day. The food took about 10-15 mins to come out and it was nice and hot. The broth has a nice, comforting aroma to it, as well as just the right amount of saltiness. The white meat ended up being a bit tough for my preference, so I'd definitely return at an earlier hour in the future. Overall, I'd recommend giving this chicken pho joint a try if you haven't before, as it's quite soothing and not too heavy!

wowow very impressed with the chicken pho but moreso with their lomo saltado. the red rice accompanied by the smokiness of the wok flavored beef and fries were absolutely so delish. the chicken pho had a really clean tasting broth and they poached the dark meat really well- super tender and juicy. and the best part is, it comes with fresh rice noodles! so gooooood

This review is based on my first and only experience so far. They have a nice variety on the menu with options like glass noodle soup, dry noodle pho, lomo saltado... I got the glass noodle soup, which I've never seen before. There was plenty of noodles and I enjoyed eating soup with this kind of noodle. The soup came piping hot which I liked. It also came with free range poached chicken that is served separately and you add as you go. The only con is that I asked for extra onion and the soup had like 4 tiny slivers of onion total and there was very little green onions either. The bean sprouts were also very wilted. Otherwise, a delicious bowl of chicken soup. I got the regular size and it more than filled me up. It came with 2 chicken breasts so I had some to take home. The service was friendly enough. I would come back. Also, total bonus points for quoting Anthony Bourdain on the wall :)

It's been two years since I started eating here and they deserve the 5 stars. Anything from the broth to the chicken wings to the garlic noodle is excellent. I haven't had a bad dish here. The broth is light and lush, very tasty and balanced. Not too salty nor heavy, really great for a light lunch or a cozy dinner. The chicken portion is better now than two years ago I feel, there's a lot of white meat (half a breast). The dipping sauce is also great, I'd always ask for more. You can get extra broth for free too. If you like something savory, try the dry stir-fry chicken pho, it's like a fish sauce sweet chicken with vermicelli, better than expected. All in all, the servers are attentive, the food comes out fast, and most importantly, the pho ga can rival all the other top places in SGV.

TL;DR - solid chicken pho and porridge. Perfect for a cold and/or rainy day. Dark and white meat options. The chicken is really good! If you wanted chicken pho or chicken porridge then this is the place to go! The perfect place for a cold and rainy day. The service is quick and the waitstaff is very attentive here. It's a nice spacious family restaurant inside the grocery store so you can get your shopping done soon afterwards (or visit their food court after for dessert). We came here for their chicken pho. They give you options for different cuts of chicken like dark and white meat. Their pho was savory, lightly salted, and perfect for the cold weather when we went. I had a random craving for porridge so I went for it and did not regret the decision! They basically give you the same portion as their large bowl of pho. You could split it with someone else if you wanted and still be satisfied. It was made perfectly and I wish I had a second one to take home with me. The chicken is solid as well. I wish they gave more but that's just because I'm a fatty :P Highly recommend this place and I'm coming back again when I get the chance!

What a great Vietnamese pho place that not only does the standard beef pho but also chicken pho (pho ga) and on top of that, they have a pretty full Vietnamese menu AND Peruvian food like lomo saltado plus garlic noodles with filet mignon!!! There really is something for everyone here. Check out my pics!

Love visiting Pho Kadao whenever we are in the area. The staff is always friendly and efficient. They offer chicken pho with fresh wide noodle, glass noodle or vermicelli; and many other dishes.

Here's to another great session of eats in my local pho Ga (chicken pho) spot. They recognize me as I'm either bringing my mom (to her favorite pho spot) or I'm grabbing a quick fast healthy solo bite. I love this place as I know it's consistent, flavor is great and the poached chicken pho is not over cooked but perfectly succulent, flavorful, and fresh. When your main protein focus is chicken you have to know that true chicken will be suuuuper feesh. I got the fried garlic wings to start and got a pho ga as well. The staff is always soooo nice, the food comes zooming out even with the place packed on this cold day. The experience of eating here wouldn't be complete with out the Vietnamese pop music playing. Top it off the comp a Che dessert ... sooo good.

Pho Kadao is always THE spot for my large, Vietnamese family gatherings. Not only are they super accomodating to big tables, but their food is more than enough to satisfy my picky aunties. I think Hainan chicken is such a simple dish, but I have found that few places nail it down. Their chicken is never overcooked, and seasoned so well. When I have some extra calories for the week, I reach for their Lomo Saltado fries which is my favorite dish here. The aji verde is so good, and I love how flavorful the fries are! Pho Kadao continues to be a hometown favorite of mine.

This is my healthy food spot! Legit HEALTHY! I come here for Mien Ga (chicken glass noodle) It is amazing, taste good an healthy as well since the broth itself is chicken broth with boiled chicken. Especially their chickens are "walking chicken" which isnt raised in a factory but a farm. Service is always great ( that is a straight 5stars, we dont have that many good service for a pure Viet restaurant) The restaurant is clean, I love that I dont smell bleach when I walk in bc that happens to a lot of other restaurant! Try it out if you havent

Three Years Later... The OG Flavor Is STILL OG!…read more Haven't been back to this spot in over THREE years! After hearing they went through a whole trial of new ownership and are now back with the original ownership, I figured it was finally time to come back and see if the OG still had it... and spoiler alert: THEY DO. #27 Hủ Tiếu Mì Nam Vang (Khô Hay Nước) -- 9.5/10 | $16.99 #30 Cơm Tấm Sườn Bì Chả Cua Trứng Muối, Tàu Hủ Ky -- 8/10 | $14.99 Let's start with the reason I came back... #27 Hủ Tiếu Mì Nam Vang -- 9.5/10 | $16.99 This is hands down one of my favorite dishes from here YEARS ago, and I was honestly nervous it wouldn't taste the same after being gone for so long. But WOW... it still hits! I ordered the special egg noodle + clear noodle combination, and you get the option of dry or soup-based. I went with the dry version because that's where the magic happens! The noodles sit over their special sauce at the bottom, so once you mix everything together, every single strand gets coated in that sweet, savory goodness. It comes loaded with a delicious mix of meats, plus a side of fresh veggies and a pork bone soup for dipping or sipping alongside. The broth was hot, flavorful, and comforting, while the noodles had that perfect texture. And somehow... after THREE YEARS, it tastes the same--if not BETTER. This is clearly one of the dishes they're known for, and I completely understand why. 10/10, no notes. This bowl alone was worth the drive back! #30 Cơm Tấm Sườn Bì Chả Cua Trứng Muối, Tàu Hủ Ky -- 8/10 | $14.99 Hubby went with the broken rice dish, which came with a pork chop, shredded pork skin, steamed egg with salted egg yolk, and tàu hủ ky, plus a side of soup. I actually really enjoyed how simple and comforting this dish was. The pork chop was nicely done, and the shredded pork skin added a good texture. The only thing that threw me off was the salted egg yolk--it was VERY subtle and honestly didn't have much flavor at all. I was expecting that salty, rich egg-yolk punch, but she was definitely playing shy. Still a solid dish overall and came with a nice little bowl of soup on the side. And can we talk about the renovation?! After three years, I walked in and was like... EXCUSE ME, WHO IS SHE?! The restaurant has been completely renovated and has such a much nicer, modern ambience compared to what I remember from years ago. It feels fresh, clean, and welcoming while somehow still keeping that familiar feeling of the OG spot. Service: Super quick! We were seated immediately around 5:30 PM, and our food came out in less than 8 minutes. Everything arrived hot, fresh, and ready to eat. Honestly, I'm SO glad I gave this place another try. Sometimes you leave a restaurant for years and come back wondering if the food will still live up to the memories... and this one absolutely did. If anything, the OG ownership coming back may have been exactly what this place needed. I already know what I'm ordering next time because that #27 is officially BACK on my rotation! Happy Eats!

The broth is perfectly seasoned and really ties the whole bowl together. I always ask to skip the blood cubes and opt for extra pig's feet instead, which they handle perfectly. Pretty Trang tasty. Get it?!…read more Today, I stopped by for a Bon Rieu, Nem Cuom, and a House Special iced tea. Service: Service was short and the entire wait took 5 minutes. That's right, 5 minutes. Although I did go around 9:50AM so there wasn't a line nor another party in the dining area. Food: I woke up craving Vietnamese and this place didn't disappoint. The Bon Rieu had the depth of flavor that I crave. Honestly, I judge most Vietnamese pho restaurants by their Bon Rieu because some places simply use seafood powder in their stock to fake it. What results is a very thinly flavored broth that has very little umami. Bon Rieu should have THE MOST umami of any soup dish because of its tomato and crab base. That's how you can tell if a place is cutting corners. The Nem Cuom is huge and the dipping sauce is generous. The House Special Tea is reminiscent of a passion fruit green tea from a boba place. Sweetened just enough to not be saccharine. Ambiance: Quite small. I believe one of their main issues may be parking during peak hours as it shares a tiny parking lot with many other businesses. HOWEVER, neighborhood parking is plentiful and just around the corner past the Sheridan Hotel and Starbucks. Round the corner and you'll find plenty of parking throughout the day.

We placed a phone order and our food was ready by the time we arrived. 16 Cơm Tấm King Special Combo (10 Items), Chicken $20.99 194. Chè Ba Màu $4.99 Three Color Bean with Shaved Ice Since it was our first time, we decided on the 10 item Cơm Tấm King Special Combo and we most definitely made the right choice. We love the variety and the food! Everything was packed well, great portions, and the flavors were on point. (What more can one ask for?) When they asked if we wanted BBQ beef, pork, or BBQ chicken, we asked them what they suggested, and they mentioned BBQ chicken. We had also grabbed food from other establishments along Valley Blvd, so we only ordered the 1 item along with the Chè Ba Màu. The prices are most definitely welcomed in this day and age and the ingredients are quality. I am thinking about the delicious food as I type this review. There are plenty of seating on the inside, and the service was great. I was greeted as I stepped into the restaurant. Parking is a bit difficult to find, but we were lucky since it was a week day and we were able to find street parking. There is a note on the storefront that customers could park in the Hawaii Supermarket parking lot but that could get packed real fast. Found a new favorite! I am already planning to stop by on my next trip out to SGV.
