Pad Thai Noodles and pad Drunken Noodles
George C.

Great food and good prices, the drunken noodles were little spicier than usual, everything else was standard quality, service was friendly and fast, the space was spacious and clean, great asian food choice in the area

Pho Ketkeo serves Laotian, Thai, and Vietnamese dishes in New Haven. Most of the food are standard Asian fare, but the truly standout item is their Nam Khao (Crispy Rice Salad). I would come here just for that one plate alone. Nam khao is a Lao rice and salad dish made with deep fried rice, Lao-style pork sausage, peanuts, mint, cilantro, fish sauce, and other ingredients. The result is an insane amalgamation of sweet, tart, and spicy mixed with crunchy bites of rice. It comes with individual lettuce leaves that I highly recommend you use to make wraps with. I came here with a group and we ordered a plethora of appetizers, pho, fried rice, and fried fish. But I would still recommend the nam khao salad out of everything here.

Nice spot, very distinct taste from Thai restaurants in town which I was pleasantly surprised by since so many places are just kinda vaguely Asian. Their drunken noodles are good and a little on the spicy side compared to others I've had. I'm a fan!

Fast food.... Everything tastes well. Portions have shrunk over the years but taste and flavor are still good. Never a wait to get a table.

First time here. Place comes highly recommended.

I unfortunately have to say I was disappointed a short while ago. I had to leave and ho somewhere else. We got there and seated right away but then we sat there without even getting water for close to 10 minutes. Nobody came over to say they'd be there in a minute. I'm not one to exaggerate either. I have to say this was going to be my third time here within a week. I was here last Friday then again on Saturday. That's how much I enjoyed this place. I was di looking forward to the Laotian sausage and crispy rice today. They really dropped the ball today. There was only a six top ordering their food and a two top already eating.

Tamarind fish -- delish!

Usually I collapse from hunger at some other restaurant before getting this far along Temple, and that's my loss. This casual-dining restaurant was terrific on all counts, from food to service, to the point of increasing my heretofore casual interest in this branch of cuisine. I had Tom Kha soup, which was enjoyable, and tamarind fish, which was a delicious discovery that motivates me to try the three-flavor fish next time. (Honestly, I now want to try almost everything on the menu.) Service was incredibly nice and swift. This may become my Asian go-to downtown now, as the experience was perfect.

B5 pho - meatballs, beef, tendon, tripe

Apparently they're called Pho Temple now. One of the most flavorful pho broths I've tasted. They also use a different type of chili that is very small, very hot, and has an interesting flavor.

Came in for a good lunch special - $12 for a big plate of drunken noodles. Sufficiently spicy, the chicken was a little gamey, but overall I was satisfied. Also got a Thai coffee which was great - very sweet and milky (as to be expected). They seemed to only have one person working up front, so service was a little iffy but nothing too egregious.

I'm still trying to determine where my favorite Asian fusion place is in New Haven, and Pho Ketkeo has had some solid hits. The Laotian fried rice is a consistent hit. It's tough to mess up fried rice, right? But this one is very good. I also liked the cashew nut, which I had with tofu. I would suggest avoiding the pho. I've tried two times, and I've found the pho broth way too salty and a bit skimpy on the meat. I was surprisingly impressed by the crispy chicken wings. I would definitely order them again. Overall, prices are competitive, especially for lunch.

I'm a pho critic for sure lol this pho was insane. Amazing. Broth full of flavor. Noodles cooked to perfect. Lots of veggies that tasted fresh. Tofu was delightful. Everything was great and I love that there were size options for the pho. 10/10 will be back, so happy I tried.

Wonderful place for a warm pho in cold winter days . Also highly recommend their beef jerky with sesame sauce . Be aware that spicy items can be really hot :D

Medium Pho (with tripe, meatballs, beef)

Pho was so yummy!! Perfect on a cold day. The spring rolls were also delicious, and the man at the front doing all the food runs brought us a whole extra plate! Will be returning soon hopefully.

Larb! Fresh herbs (notably mint) + beef
Stephanie N.

We really enjoyed our dishes here. They do a nice balance between the traditional cuisine one would expect and regional specialties. We tried the larb, a Laotian dish which tasted very fresh alongside the beef. The Pad Thai was nicely balanced with a variety of flavors and was generously portioned. With reasonable prices and lovely service, this will become more of our go-to Thai place.

Shhh, don't tell anyone!…read more But also tell everyone you know! Let it Be is a chic, cozy little hole in the wall spot on Dixwell which although you can easily miss, you won't want to because it's a legend of a Thai restaurant. AMBIANCE - 8/10 When you walk inside, you're greeted by a familiar friendly smile (? one of the owners) before being seated amongst brightly colorful interior decor. They play relaxing Thai classics and sometimes switch it up with familiar and vibey pop songs. It's a small space, but is never overcrowded, and there's conveniently plenty of parking in the back. FOOD - 9/10 The food here is incredible. I've tried multiple Thai places in and around the New Haven/Hamden area and Let it Be has got them all beat. Not only are the flavors authentic and high quality, but prices are fair and the dishes are well-portioned. Best of all, they're made with so much heart. Every bite has felt like a journey back home to South East Asia. SERVICE - 9/10 The service here has been phenomenal. Our friendly server is welcoming, prompt, and responsive to our needs. When a dish we asked for wasn't available, he took the time to find similar dishes for us. He also takes the time to make friendly conversation and share with us the history of some of the special dishes. Visits here always just feel like a pitstop at a friendly neighbor's. The only thing is that it can take a bit of time for the food to come out, which is natural as the dishes are likely made to order. OVERALL - 9/10 From the Thai staples (pad thai, red and green curries) to the more avant garde (larb kai but in a bánh mì / hoagie style sandwich?! woah!), this place does it all the right way. If you couldn't tell by now, this is my absolute favorite Thai place and I could not recommend it enough. Ally's Recs: Pad Thai (8/10) - cannot go wrong with a classic Pad See Ewe (9/10) - another classic! tastes great with a squeeze of lime Let it Be Thai Curry (9/10) - delicious house curry; they combo the curries well to create a creamy sweet and savory mixture that always leaves you wanting more Thai Tea (8/10) - if you're down for a treat, the condensed milk hits every time! Longan Juice / Tea (7/10) - refreshing and comes with a bunch of juicy longans on top. such a unique offering!

Hopefully they're doing a big takeout business because we were the only ones inside for dinner. Granted it was 8:30pm, but they are open until midnight. They were accommodating by turning the heat up on this chilly night. They also put on current Thai music for us after we asked about the American music being played. They offered my wife a syrupy lychee drink on the house to take care of the extra heat that she wasn't expecting. They put a bit of a different spin on their version of some popular dishes so don't be mad if it's not what you get at other Thai restaurants. Check out our pics. It was all excellent!

If you're craving authentic, fresh, and delicious Thai food, this spot delivers in every way! The perfect balance of spices, sweetness, and tanginess shines in every bite. Their Thai iced boba tea is smooth and refreshing, the perfect complement to the meal. We had this for the first time recently, and the food was very good. As was the friendly customer…read moreservice (we got the food to go, so we can't speak much to the ambiance). What was not good was the notable discrepancy in price on the website versus the actual prices. So, this review is a PSA because Thai Spice really needs to rectify this immediately and get all of its sites updated. At the time of our order two weeks ago (and at the time that I am writing this review), the website https://thaispiceauthentic.com/ and the PDF menu hyperlink on that website (and the Order Now hyperlinks on the site) all reflect outdated prices. If you access the business via the https://www.yumdthaicuisine.com/ site (immediately confusing because this does not appear to be the current restaurant name, and the sign outside the restaurant says Thai Spice) or if you Google the restaurant and access the Toast site to order, you will get the current, actual prices. But these are way too many variables for a customer to reasonably navigate or to know what is accurate. We ordered the following: - Thai Sampler - We expected to pay $14.96/99 (two prices, one on the PDF and one via the Order Now link); the actual current price is an astounding $22.50 ($15 was a good deal, we thought; $22.50 is not--not for what you get) - Chicken Pad Thai - We expected to pay $13.96/99; the actual price is $14.95 - Yellow Curry - $13.96/99; actual price, $14.95 - Sticky Rice - $3.00; actual price, $4.00 A difference of over $10. Not great.
