I wished with all my might that this phở gà would be good. My daughter was sick and asked for chicken soup for lunch. We didn't have time to make homemade chicken soup, so I turned to my trusty Yelp to find a quick fix. I searched for phở places because they usually have flavorful chicken broth and really good chicken. Ordering was easy. I called, placed my order, and they asked if I wanted dark or white meat. I chose white meat, and they said it would be ready soon. Perfect. I got there, picked it up, and it was piping hot. When I got home, I was happy to see the broth and noodles were packaged separately, which helps keep the noodles from getting slimy and clumped together. Unfortunately, the chicken sitting on top of the noodles was the driest chicken I have ever had. I took one bite, and it was so tough and dry that it was hard to chew. I cut it into tiny pieces for my daughter, hoping that would help, but she wouldn't eat it either. She enjoyed the soup (I had to water it down because it was a little too salty for a 5 yo), but she didn't touch the chicken. I'm really sad to say that I couldn't eat it either. I hate wasting food, but there was no saving it. I tried cutting it up even more and covering it with hoisin and other sauces, but nothing helped. It honestly tasted like the chicken had been sitting out for hours until it became dry and tough. To top it off, the bowl was $17, which I think is pretty expensive for phở gà. At that price, I expected the chicken to be tender and enjoyable, not the one part of the meal that was completely inedible. I'm hoping this was just an isolated experience because I'd really love to have a great phở spot nearby. The service was easy, the packaging was thoughtful, and I genuinely wanted to like this place. I'm just disappointed that the chicken missed the mark. And yes, we did make chicken soup for dinner... and yes, she ate the whole thing. We had such a great experience here and will definitely be back. From the moment we sat down, the service stood out. Our table was greeted with a cold water pitcher with fresh orange slices, which was such a refreshing and thoughtful touch. We started with the shrimp spring rolls, which were incredibly fresh and perfectly wrapped. They came with warm peanut sauce that was rich, creamy, and delicious. For our main dishes we ordered the beef rib pho and a build your own pho, and both were excellent. Starting off the staff was super cool two days in a row with completely different people. I got the pho dac biet, which is my go to everywhere. It was on par with my usual place in Little Saigon. What blew me out of the water was the tendon, perfect which sometimes it isn't. I had to get an extra portion and pretty much went specifically back for it the next day. The chili oil was on point. It's not at the table so don't miss it. That's basically one of my benchmarks for whether or not I'll go to a pho spot. Siracha only? You'll get a pass. My husband and I really enjoyed our lunch at Pho Lime N Basil! He said the broth was a little salty for his taste, but for my tastebuds it was perfect. It was not too oily either. The side of veggies were perfectly steamed as well, and made a great addition to the fatty brisket pho. Beware, the fatty brisket is indeed fatty! Second my noodles just broke up into small pieces no need for chopsticks just scooped it up with the spoon I personally like to use my chopsticks and roll my noodles for the texture it was more mushy as if it was cooked to long . Today we ordered out not one portion was the same for 4 beef phos, messy packaging blood from the meat every where. Meat portions different although they were all the same soup, broth is put into a tall cup like container noodles into a bento box to go You will have to eat this at home definitely can't eat it on the go. You need to provide your own bowl. Once again noodles broke into tiny pieces.
