The soup itself - the broth - is probably one of my favorite in the Bay Area. They have undeniably strong flavor and you can taste the love coming from their cooking. So I been wanting to try this spot for some time now and finally stopped in today but grabbed it to go! I ordered the #15 combo but swapped the vermicelli out for egg noodles. But before I start this review of the food let me state that the staff was friendly and accommodating. This place although small was full to capacity. It's in a quaint shopping plaza and you could miss it if you blink. Not to mention I was in and out in about 5 minutes. Anyways on to the good stuff. So I got home and put my soup together in a pho bowl I have as everything is separated because who wants mooshy noodles, not me! So the broth was still hot enough to cook the beef flank which was great! So I started digging in and agreed with recent reviews about the soup. The broth was nice as it tasted how you'd expect from a nice pho spot. The noodles were perfectly al dente and it was the perfect portion for a large. I do disagree with other reviews as I got plenty of meat of each of the different ones that come in a combo. The strands of tripe were good and toothy, the fatty brisket was tender and fatty as described but the kicker for me was the tendon. They give you plenty of it and the gelatinous texture has always been my hands down favorite. And it comes with the usual sides that caps off a nice bowl of pho. All in all it was a nice decision for lunch and I definitely will be back again and will recommend to others. BTW I did gaze at other tables and their rice plates look Gucci. Yeah I said Gucci lol! If you want to know what pho places looked like back in the 90s you can visit Long Thinh. The decor, tables, and style all have that old school pho restaurant feel. Mirror glass tile to make the restaurant look bigger than it is. Wood paneling as well. The pho matches the vibe too. I got the Dac Biet (#15) and their large is only a dollar more than the regular bowl. One thing that stuck out with the combo is that it also comes with bo vien. Usually bo vien is extra or seperate, but that was a welcome addition to the bowl. Noodles and meats were good. Broth was a little bit light. One other thing they do slightly different is that they give lemon wedges rather than lime. I think lime works better with pho but not a huge difference. Their pricing is also a bit cheaper than most pho places these days. The combination was 14 for regular and 15 for large but their other pho bowls were 12.50 and 13.50. Soup is overpowered by fish sauce and only a trace of the traditional bone broth flavor. Lots of rice noodles, but the meat is ... well take effort to find buried somewhere in the bowl. Been coming here since I was a sophomore/junior in high school! I loved it the first time I went and I'll love it every time. They are very friendly and they give you water when you first come through. It's very casual and I like the environment (when seating was open before 'rona). I come here in sweats, I come here all dressed up, this place is really for everybody. Everything is pretty affordable too. The flavor is always the same, always delicious. Never too salty or too bland, it's always flavorful. My parents love to order from here, especially when they have a cold or a stomach ache because the soup is flavorful but isn't heavy. The noodles are never soggy. The meat is always tender and easy to bite through. Egg rolls are flaky and crunchy and have good flavor. I like to order those on the side. I go to a lot of pho places in the Bay Area, and nothing can beat Long Thinh. I personally crave eating here all the time. This restaurant was almost full at noon on a Saturday, and just a few minutes after ordering our 3 steaming bowls of pho and rice with grilled chicken was delivered to our table. The broth of the steak, meatball pho was phenomenal, and left a very comforting warmness in my mouth that wasn't overloaded with fat. The vermicelli noodles were also cooked well. Best Pho in town. Been coming here for 10 years plus. It's nothing fancy, but just done right. For the past 100 bowels of Pho I've had here, every single bowel came with piping hot broth, never disgustingly luke warm. Noddle always perfectly cooked. Not too hard, not too soggy. Ingredient portion is just right. I especially appreciate the clear but flavorful broth. Never too salty, oily, or with brownish meaty taste. This hidden gem is a local neighborhood favorite. Not a lot of fanfare and not much to look at from outside. You'll drive pass it a hundred times and never know it was there, but I love the low key home cooked feel. There is a Vietnamese place in Milpitas I frequent (Truong Thanh), and this one. Why? Because Pho Long Thinh's Pho is really tasty and the "small" is plenty large enough for just about anyone, IMHO.  I usually get the Pho Tai Bo (rare steak with meatballs) - my spouse prefers the filet Pho. There isn't a super abundance of meat in it - but it's always fresh (unlike many other places we've been), and the broth is hands down the best anywhere... and trust me, we've tried at least 2 dozen restaurants in the area. Every other Vietnamese place in the area has been a distant 3rd or worse place by comparison. Their Thai Iced tea is not overly sweet or under strong. I.e. it's just right. Bun Thit Nuong here is not as tasty as the other restaurant I mentioned earlier, but as I said, their Pho is REALLY, REALLY good. We've been frequenting them for 5 years now and like the family friendly service, reasonable prices, and most of all, the Pho! Not sure the covid experience would have been survivable without the comforting food from here. Now they are opening back up with limited tables and as before, doing an obvious good job on sanitation and cleanliness. This restaurant is in a strip mall, not especially attractive inside or out, but we go (and take out) for the reasonably priced, tasty food and friendly service. I've been going to this mom pops restaurant since my two boys in elementary I believe 17 yrs now. Love their Vietnamese food the owner and their kids is like a family to us.
