A pretty decent pho/Vietnamese restaurant. It was empty when we arrived on a weekday for dinner. The service was very friendly, and the staff spoke both Vietnamese and English. The menu is quite large, offering a little bit of everything. Here are the two items I tried: Bun Rieu - This was pretty decent. I liked the ground meatballs that came with it, and the flavors were good. There were tons of noodles--I couldn't finish a large portion. Reasonably priced. (4/5) Hainan Chicken Rice - This was also pretty decent. The chicken was fresh, and the rice was flavorful. The soup that came with it was tasty. Overall, a solid dish. (4/5) Overall, this is a good spot if you're looking for Vietnamese food. Prices are reasonable, and the food is tasty. It also comes with iced tea! Note - They charge 4% extra for credit card payments, so bring cash. Parking - Large parking lot, so it's very easy to find a spot.

I was craving chicken pho since it was a chilly morning so I stopped by for early lunch. The restaurant is pretty small. They also had a large family dining when we arrived so most of the tables in the restaurant were used for that family. The staff quickly cleaned a small side table for us but unfortunately it was right by the door so every time the door opened, chilly wind would blow in. Service: The staff working were pretty friendly and accommodating. For some odd reason, they said they were out of stock for many menu items. We ordered half a chicken, a plain noodle, and some steamed rolls. Food took a LONG time to come out. It was also pretty strange that our noodles came out last. We were halfway done with the chicken before the noodles came out. Food: I really enjoyed the noodles and the chicken. The broth from the noodles was very rich in flavor. But I think the highlight was the chicken. The chicken was so tender! It was a little on the bland side but nothing a little sauce can't fix. Overall not a bad first time dining here. I think I will definitely be back to try them again and hopefully not catch them during their busy time.

Closed on Wednesdays. Cash preferred, credit card accepted. Friendly. Cooked to order, so be PATIENT, or order over the phone for pick up. To-go portions are generous compared to other Vietnamese places.

Mien Ga! I asked for chicken thighs.

Chicken was filling and good. The soup was good but needed some touch ups. Service was friendly and attentive, love that. Very casual ambiance and small. I was hoping it was the chewy glass noodles, but they gave me regular thin mung bean noodles, maybe they don't have the glass noodles anymore? But other than that, it's a nice spot. Very generous on the meat!

I love the Bun Bo Hue, the serving is large and extremely tasty. I also enjoyed talking with the owners, they are very warm-hearted and the love shows in the taste of the food.

Ordered some dishes to go. Showed up on the quoted time but had to wait for awhile. Order was packed neatly. I liked the flavor of the curry chicken, but there were lots of tiny broken bones in there so I had to eat very carefully. Chicken gizzard was dry and hard. Chicken pho was decent. Meat was tender but soup was light. Beef pho was my favorite. Deep flavor.

The food is amazing with great flavors, and the service is friendly and attentive. Overall a wonderful dining experience. Highly recommended

Came here for lunch after bowling in the same plaza. Thanks to Yelp for sending me here. Really is like home cooking! I thoroughly enjoyed my bun thit nuong with egg rolls. Big portion and super fresh! Everyone else enjoyed their food. Small restaurant, food cooked when ordered so have patience. Highly recommend!

Due to Covid19, did they provide any hand sanitizers to both employees and customers? And did they remove all the utensils and sauces from the outdoor dinning tables to avoid too many "hands touching?"

Last time I went I saw that they had put up an automatic hand sanitizer dispenser provided for customers. There are also hand sanitizer bottles up front on the table. They also have removed the utensils and sauces from the outside tables, and bring… Read more

The menu is pretty simple and straight forward and the restaurant was pretty cozy with good service. I ordered a beef tendon noodle soup and the popcorn chicken. The beef noodle soup really reminded me of the ones I had in Taiwan. The noodles were so chewy and the broth was very rich. I really enjoyed the popcorn chicken as well. It was crispy, juicy, and the meat to batter proportion was just perfect. However, the price is a bit on the pricier side but since the food was delicious, I think it was worth it. Their most popular No. 1 dish is the beef noodle soup with optional choices such as meat with tendon or triple combo with meat tendon and tripe. The soup is more on the heavier side but tasty and not too spicy. Recommended style is to take the soup home and use it to make a 2nd bowl of beef noodle soup at home :) Their pork chop is also huge portion and juicy! Ordered the combo with rice and side dishes and can easily become a meal for 2 or dinner and packed lunch for next day. Good Alley does the Kaifeng-style guantang bao (soup dumpling) with a thicker wrapper that somehow holds an almost obscene amount of rich, collagen-packed broth inside. One bite and the broth just floods your mouth. Get these first, get them hot, and don't share. The Chinese cumin lamb burger (roujiamo) is another must. The bread is a flaky, thousand-layer pancake -- so much better than the typical baked bun -- and the beef filling is well-seasoned and satisfying. It's the kind of dish that sounds simple until you actually eat it and realize how much craft goes into it. Dry-pot cauliflower, scallion oil dry noodle , and korubuta pork & shrimp wontons are also delicious. The berry sticky mochi drink was so refreshing! Service is friendly, the space is clean and modern, and the iPad ordering system actually works smoothly. Fair warning: expect a wait on weekends -- word is getting out. Come early or be patient, because it's absolutely worth it.

It's hard to stand out as a Chinese restaurant in the San Gabriel Valley when you're surrounded by…read moreso many incredible options, but Good Alley definitely has a few things working in its favor. We visited during the dinner rush, so the wait was longer than expected. Fortunately, they have a digital waitlist system that made it easy to track our place in line, and we didn't mind the wait too much. Once seated, my husband and I were pleasantly surprised to get a spacious corner booth despite being a party of two. It was comfortable, gave us plenty of room to enjoy our meal, and, of course, allowed me to take all the food photos I wanted without feeling rushed. We ordered the beef rolls, Wagyu beef Chinese burger, Kurobuta pork and crab soup dumplings, braised beef noodle soup, and Japanese scallops. As a huge scallop fan, I expected the scallops to be my favorite dish of the night, but they ended up being a little too salty for my taste. Everything else was solid. The standout dish for me was the braised beef noodle soup. While I've had stronger versions elsewhere in the SGV, this one was still flavorful, comforting, and the dish I found myself going back to the most throughout the meal. What truly surprised me were the drinks. Unfortunately, I forgot to take photos, but they ended up being one of the highlights of the evening. The menu is extensive, and I could easily see myself returning just to explore more of their drink offerings and try additional dishes. What really elevated Good Alley, for me though, is the service. Despite how busy the restaurant was, the staff remained attentive, friendly, and efficient. Our food arrived surprisingly quickly, and we never felt overlooked. Great customer service can make a good meal even better, and that's what stood out to me most about this experience. Overall, Good Alley offers a comfortable dining experience, a large menu with plenty to explore, and service that goes above and beyond. I'll definitely be back to try more of what they have to offer. :)
