I've been suffering with migraines recently and have had to avoid MSG, among other things. So when my pho craving hit, Pho PCH was just the place to go. Their veggie pho and broth is MSG free! I still wanted a little meat so I ordered the beef pho but they gladly swapped the beef broth for the veggie broth and it was perfect. Only downside is that it is $9 for a small bowl of pho. It was my first time coming here....since it was the only Pho place open near me on a Sunday. The combination bahn mi was not toasted or seasoned, lacked flavor and texture as well. Pretty over priced for what you get and would expect quality to be better for that price. The combination Pho was weak and watery compared to other place near by. Tons of noodles and little meat and tons of tripe. Also there is no customization for your soups...they come one size and that's it...no doubling meat either (in case that is a preference). Last note that really bugged me was the Thai Tea. They use some kind of hazelnut/ coconut flavored coffee creamer that is very off putting if you love traditional Thai tea. After I mentioned that I didn't like it, and said it was my first time hear so I didn't know, it's was not mentioned on the menu or by the employee that they make theirs that way. She then said "we've been here 9 years" and I let her know it was my first time again lol. Out of all the Pho places I've been in the last 20 years never tasted like that or were made that way. Then she said they couldn't take it back or off the bill (like 3 sips to try and figure out what was in it). I would never recommend this place to anyone. Just left this place and I already want to leave them a great review! Arrived at 8pm when they close (surprised they close so early!). Instead of telling me they are closed or making me feel unwelcome because they want to go home, the female server greeted us and offered to prepare a takeout order for us. She was so sweet and I never felt rushed the entire time. Now to the food: great portion for the vermicelli bowl and amazing banh mi. The pork is so sweet and tender, while the French roll was soft and perfectly chewy. Would be a nice touch if it was served toasted. I just ordered take out. I went to pick it up and put it in my car seat and took it upstairs. I live a block away. As I pulled in, I noticed that I could smell the broth but thought i was just hungry. But then I saw broth on my yoga mat that was in the seat with it. As I took it upstairs, i noticed there was broth in the bag. When I opened it, I saw that there was a crack in the container so I called to let them know. I told him that the soup leaked. Before i coukd even say anything else, I was told that when he handed it to me, he made sure it was closed. I told him it wasn't open, it was cracked. So he changed his tune and said he made sure it wasn't cracked and fine. Then proceeded to tell me that typically, they make sure it's good when they give it to us and that they don't know what happens between the time i left there and got home. Basically, blaming it on me. So instead of hearing me out or even asking me. He was so sure that it was my fault without even knowing what actually happened . So I said, "fine whatever, bye" at this point too tired and hungry to try and argue or get him to understand. I am only writing this now because I would like it to be heard somewhere . The pictures show the edge of the container cracked towards the top... is he telling me that there is NO WAY that It was possible that the crack got missed since the container did and was closed? Is it possible that I did NOT cause it by setting it on my passenger car seat next to a yoga mat and carrying it into my house? It would have been nice to be heard and apologized to. Instead, I was cut off, disregarded and blamed. What customer service ! I will say that the girl there is always super sweet and very thorough. As for the food... the pho is ok. The rolls are small, the sandwiches have too much bread and veggies to meat ratio. It's a decent alternative when I'm in a rush or am too lazy to go anywjere further or (as in the case for today) pho show was closed but there are much better options for viet food in the South bay so now that their service sucks too, I won't be coming back. This is my favorite go to pho spot. I'm so thankful for Yelp because I found it while searching for PHO around the area. I've had pho from various places before and their pho is by far my favorite. They have their flavor down!!! I love their egg rolls as well. Their iced coffee and passion fruit iced tea are my go to favorite drinks. The atmosphere here is very chill and the people running the place are lovely. I frequent this place at least once a week and have no complaints at all. I was craving chicken pho and did not have the energy get to an asian store for ingredients and then to cook a pot of it today all just for me, so after driving for what seemed like the millionth time pasting this restaurant, I decided to pull the trigger an finally give Pho PCH a shot. I only ordered the chicken pho due to a recommendation on the Nextdoor App by a friendly neighbor. It was actually satisfying and pretty filling! The herbs were very fresh too. I was pretty shocked by the price $15 and then I added tip too.. so yeah its a splurge now. BUT! given the area/ neighborhood I am in, I am sure rental is ridiculous here. I would come back for the convenience and specifically the pho ga. Its hard to find good pho ga around here! Can't speak for the rest of the menu yet. Thanks for serving pho in this area! $25 for two pho, jasmine tea, iced coffee and two spring rolls! Not bad! What really stands out here (and the main reason for 5 stars) is their really, really ridiculously stellar service. Honestly, their servers are great! Another reason for the stars is that the tendon is really well prepared. Few places serve you nice firm tendon! Wow! The noodles are also well prepared. They serve fresh basil and colantro and lots of sprouts and lime. They serve lots of meat and lots of chicken!!!! My BF always gets Pho Ga and usually they serve very little chicken in it at other places so he was very happy here! On the downside, the coffee is just OK. The spring rolls are rather small. If I were to take a star or two off it would be for the fact that the broth is also just OK. They have simple but nice decor which includes some cute pictures on the wall. The restaurant is clean and so is the bathroom. Pho PCH is very, very small and very, very popular. We had to wait a while. However, once again, service more than made up for it! This is a tiny little gem in the South Bay. The pho is great, very flavorful. The spring rolls (although smaller than most) are delicious. I had the rare beef pho with added steamed veggies. These combine with your choice of lean and tender meats, chicken, sweet & succulent shrimps, tendon, and meatballs. If you like really rare steak, ask for it to be served on the side - it just melts in your mouth ! Large bowls are just $8.99 while small ones are $7.99 so why not go with the large, I say ! The Combination Pho and the Shrimp Pho were the choices on our first visit, but now would like to go back and try the bahn mi sandwiches, the egg rolls, spring rolls, and some of the vermicelli dishes or rice dishes. Today was quite a chilly day for Southern Calif, so Pho was the obvious pick, but with warmer weather, I want to to be sure and sample their Vietnamese Iced Coffee ! I hate to write a review like this, especially when so many other people have had good experiences here. I ate at Pho PCH two nights ago and had the worst food poisoning of my life. I won't go into the specific details but suffice to say I've been out of commission for the last 48 hours. In fact I'm just now getting back to a place where I can actually write a coherent review. On the positive side the service was great. Very friendly, knowledgeable, and fast. I ordered the steak pho soup which came in a large bowl at a reasonable price. The broth was good, though the noodles were of a poor quality and the meat tasted a little off (a warning sign of things to come). A couple hours later I got hit with the God-awful unrelenting food poisoning. The pho broth is delicious, has nice amounts of star anise. It's a very light and tasty broth, not as murky as more traditional pho places in Gardena and etc. I always get the combination which has meatballs, brisket, rare steak, tendon, and tripe. Comes with all the fixings: basil leaves, chopped onions and parsley, jalapeño, bean sprouts, lime. The pork bahn mi is my absolute favorite. Awesome seasoned pork with cucumber, carrots, cucumbers, parsley on crusty French bread. Make sure you order early because sometimes they run out towards the end of the day. The ladies/men that work there are always so cheerful and quick to help out. I usually order to-go and my order is always ready by their estimated time. Don't let the two stars fool you. The quality of the food here is great, best Pho I've had and I work in Gardena, so I eat it rather regularly. The service here is absolutely god-awful. The place gets really busy, and the couple of times I've eaten here I've attempted to get my order to go. First of all, I've tried to call my order in on multiple occasions to no avail. When I walk in and place my order I ask them why they don't answer the phone. The lady at the front desk simply replied, "when it's busy we just don't answer the phone." What kind of customer service is that? So when I order my to-go order, I have to walk there in the place and order and wait 20 minutes to get the food, kind of inconvenient. I really want to like this place, but the lady running the front counter makes that extremely difficult, she kind of has a condescending attitude, every time I walk-in to place my to-go order. I was craving Asian food when I got back from my trip. I found this place on Yelp and decided to give it a try. I called ahead while I was driving but couldn't get ahold of them. So, I ordered when I got there. The service was quick and friendly. Their spring rolls were fresh, clean, and tasty. I also liked that they gave me several packets of sriracha. My chicken pho, however, was 3 stars. Their chicken breast was a little on the dry side. I didn't like that it was cut into round slices. Every other pho place has shredded pieces of flavorful juicy chicken. The broth and noodles were average and light. Today would have been our 5th visit to PCH Pho - Visit 1 was great Visit 2 for takeout was good, but Pho is better eaten in Vist 3 was on a Wed - they were closed Visit 4 was on a Thursday - posted opening is 1100, they kept the door locked until the noodles arrived at 1130-at least they told us Visit 5 another Thursday, arrived at 1105, doors are locked, and a sign on the door that they don't open to 1130 - We went someplace else..... No matter how good the food, if you are not open during posted hours or change you hours on short notice there is no way people are going to keep coming back, when you have a lmited time to go out, get some lunch and get back to work all the while trying to beat the crowds you can't wait an extra 30 minutes for lunch. We went down the street to another resturant that was open during their posted hours. Anyway you look at it being closed during posted hours or changing your hours to make thing easier on you makes your customers go someplace else, I'd really like to see them get their act together because when you can get in the food is good. So you need to choose - Pick an opening time that you can meet day in and day out or Close and find another line of business that does not require walk in customers read more

I was not expecting much when I came here... I mean come on... Pho...on PCH? Well... I have to say that it was a nice surprise! It is a small place, so we had to wait a bit for a table. We sat down and they took our order pretty fast. We ordered the Goi Cuon (spring rolls) to start and after the first bite... the place showed some promise. For my main meal I ordered the Bun Cha Gio with Pork (vermicelli salad). When they brought it, I noticed that it looked a bit different from the Vietnamese places I usually go to, but I don't judge a book by its cover :) The pork was cut thicker than normal, but boy was it tasty! Both the dishes I tried were good... so I will give it an A-OK! The prices are definitely a bit higher than the places in Gardena, but for the folks who live by the beach this location is perfect. I have always driven to Gardena for Pho and it 's pretty patheic that I don't like to travel 9 miles away to get a bowl of pho,but now I'm so stoked South Redondo has a place near-by my place. Just a quick skip and a hop to this small and cozy place. As a resident here, I never want to leave my bubble but if I can get some tasty pho, I WILL! The pho here is very close with the flavor and the right amount of options to choose what you want in your pho. The spring rolls are addicting and i wish they did more than two rolls on a plate.I know call me greedy! HA! Peanut sauce was AHHHMAZING! What I ordered was the #2 and the spring rolls. They are closed Wednesdays and when they are and I have my cravings I am just heartbroken. There is really no good pho places in the southbay. Seriously, trust me on this! I've tried many of the pho places in the southbay and it does not hold a candle to this place. It makes me really appreciate their existence. The menu is very limited. There is also bun (vermicelli) but come here for the pho, you won't regret it. I like that the menu is limited and direct, although slightly bummed they don't offer bun rieu (Vietnamese crab soup) or offer dark meat chicken. All their chicken is white meat. My knowledge of the intricacies of flavor in pho doesn't extend very far, but I sure do love me a hot bowl of delicious soup and this place definitely delivers on that! I live basically right across the street and have been going to this place on the regular. I always get the shrimp or steak pho. As a previous reviewer mentioned, everything has tasted amazingly fresh! The interior of the place could use some...cleaning up? I always notice dried up splotches of sriracha on the wall next to my table. But this is definitely a no-frills typea place. The girl that works there is super sweet! Rating for take-out only. I'd really like to give Pho PCH more of a 3.5 stars rating. I've been to Pho PCH twice for pho take-out, and have enjoyed my food on both occasions. No problems with service getting takeout, the waitress is very nice about letting you sit and relax while they bag up your take-out. The first time I ordered take-out Pho PCH had just opened. I ordered chicken pho, but they were sold out of the chicken broth, so I let them replace the broth with beef broth. No complaints here, the beef broth was more flavorful and I still really enjoyed my pho. The portion size of the noodles and other pho sides was very generous. Overall I was very happy with my meal. I didn't have any problem with soggy noodles that other people have complained about because I put the noodles in my broth myself with the take-out style pho. The second visit, I ordered take-out shrimp pho. This was also served in the chicken broth. The chicken broth is really weak, very little flavor, and I actually would have preferred the beef broth. I drenched my pho in sriracha and hoisin sauce to add flavor, and still enjoyed my meal. Pho PCH offers cheap pho in huge portion sizes. The only downside is some of the pho is a little bland, but it's nothing a couple dollops of sriracha and hoisin can't fix. Definitely recommend for small groups or take-out, the restaurant only has a few tables, and the largest table only seats 4 people. read more

For the price you pay, I expected so much more. I guess it makes sense that the prices I saw there was so much higher than I'm used to. I usually go to Westminster for the PLETHORA of pho restaurants there but felt like trying something new. I literally went out of my way to go to this restaurant. With 4 stars and ~50 reviews, I figured how bad could it be. I proceeded to pick up my girlfriend from Long Beach State and took the long drive. I thought it wouldn't be that bad of a drive but it took about 40 minutes up Pacific Coast Highway. After passing through the spectrum in terms of good/bad neighborhoods, we finally arrived. It is a very small shop with about 10 tables that seat 2-4 people. A pair of ladies served as waitress, hostess, busboy(girl?). We took a seat in the corner and were handed the 8.5 by 11" laminated papers called menus. Everything was in 12 pt font and the menu seemed like it was missing a lot of things. I recall about 5 "different" pho's, 5 rice dishes, 5 bun (vermicelli) dishes, and 5 sandwiches. It was a cold day so both my girlfriend and I decided we wanted pho. My girlfriend ordered a Pho w/ Steak (commonly known as Pho Tai in the more Vietnamese populated areas) and I ordered the combination pho (Pho Dac Biet aka Special Pho). I was a bit hungrier so I ordered the large for a dollar more but here's the kicker, the small was already 6.99! 7 dollars for a bowl of pho?!! This better be the best damn Pho I've ever tasted outside of my parent's home. Spoiler alert: It wasn't :/ We placed our order of two bowls of pho and two hot teas. I've never seen anyone charge more than a dollar for hot tea but this place pushed the boundaries and charged a whopping $1.75 for each cup of hot tap water with jasmine tea bags. Yum. When the two bowls arrived, they looked about the same size to me so I was disappointed. We dug in and was happy that the fresh herbs were indeed fresh. (The basil seemed the most fresh I have ever seen at any Pho restaurant. The limes were juicy and the bean sprouts weren't the usual brown-ish wilted color. The soup itself had a special flavor to it. The last time I tasted pho soup like that was when I made it at home with a soup base bought at the local market. I think it's a special herb they put in it that other restaurants don't (Or they simply used the same base I bought at the store). We devoured the food and was given the receipt a few minutes later. Total was about $18.50 for the two of us. I gave them a $20 bill and left unsatisfied and regretting I drove out of my way to come here. Moral of the story: If it's all you've got, then it will suffice. If Westminster is a stone's throw away, don't come here. I would even urge the regulars here to take the drive to Westminster: it's more authentic, delicious, and you won't regret it :) read more

Our usual spot Saigon is closed on Sundays and we didn't want to drive to Gardena so we went down the street, and boy did we regret it! My husband and I got the brisket and rare steak large phos and the egg rolls, and boy do they jip you! Everyone knows pho should be cheap and filling and the food was neither at this place! They barely gave us 5 pieces of brisket and steak in each, the egg roll order was 2 pieces for $3 and the 2 pieces of the egg rolls doesn't even equal up to 1 at other pho places! The phos were 7.99 each and the broth was NOT evenly balanced, too much star anise! And they have a charge for sharing! The only reason I didn't give it a flat 1 star was the server was very attentive, but then again the place only seats about 20. Pho-ntastic!! Fragrant and delicate broth with fabulously fresh sprouts/jalapeno/basil etc. (delivered fresh every day). I am a fan of beef tendon and was in savory/chewy nirvana. On another occasion had the bahn mi chicken sandwhich which pairs a delicious french roll with seasoned meat, lightly pickled vegetables and just the right kick of jalapeno. Lillian is a delight in the front of the house. Although I really want to keep this jewel a secret (it has very limited capacity), I can't help telling everyone I know. 3.5 stars for the pho. 5 stars for their spring rolls! The pho broth is clean tasting, light, and aromatic. There is a pronounced star anise smell and taste to the broth which could be a bad or good thing. I prefer less star anise flavoring however I will still give credit where credit is due. The broth is simply on point with other great pho places in Little Saigon. If you are really hungry, it is highly suggested that another side of rare steak is ordered because their meat portion is not adequate. Nonetheless, their meat is of high quality. Besides the pho, their spring roll is another superstar. Their spring roll is of perfect size and not bulky and awkward when you stuff it in your face. Some may argue that the rolls are tiny but I like my rolls delicate, neat, and tasty! This is a great small pho establishment in Redondo Beach. Service is fast and reliable.
