Am from out of town, came in for 2 weeks training, and been here 3x already, yesterday I was able to tried the Com Tam saigon, rice special, love it, really tasty, specially the pork which has lemon grass that the right way to do. My first time was there at lunch which was crowded, I was going to go Pho Tango but went with my instinct stay, the next two time came back on off peak hours, the food are very consistent and the owner is very nice. I WOULD RECOMMEND THIS PLACE TO EVERYONE. The second reviewer kinder harsh on them, if you want quick food, why don't you go McDonald or Taco bell next to it, this is call dinning or seat down restaurant which mean you have to prepare the food. read more

While we were in the car, my friends and I were contemplating whether to go into Pho Tango or Saigon Bistro. It was quite odd that there are two pho places in the same complex area. We decided on Saigon Bistro because although, Pho Tango looked more modern and developed, I was turned off by the giant TV screens for sports viewing. We ordered from here and our order was completely wrong. On top of our pho being the wrong things we ordered, the shrimp spring rolls were bad. They made my daughter sick as she was the only one who tried one. I think it was the shrimp. We tried getting our money back because it wasn't what we ordered and/or inedible but it was $53 down the drain. Waking up with a scratchy throat and a general feeling of malaise I knew I needed but one thing, PHO! I had to go to the grocery store (sigh) but I knew that Pho was just around the corner. I've been to Pho Tango before but I wanted to try out Pho Saigon. I called in an order of #14 pho right before I headed to checkout and I was waiting for me when I walked into the restaurant. My order was packed up perfectly. Noodles and steak and onions in the main vessel, piping hot broth and floaty meatballs in a separate soup container, and a baggy of toppings. They even included hoisin and sriracha sauce! I appreciated that I could assemble my bowl of pho at home and have it be just as perfect as having it at the restaurant. BTW the broth was excellent! Can't wait to go back and try the bahn mi and bubble tea. read more

I tried the chicken pho and wasn't at all disappointed, the quantity of chicken is immense, and will leave you fully stuffed if you can manage to finish it! Located in the old Taco del Mar suite, Saigon Bistro is bringing a bit of the Portland vibe to to Hillsboro and I'm digging it. When I mean Portland vibe (that I'm so used to)--order at counter & pay, get your order & stuff your face (which I definitely did), and then bus your table. It's a great place to dine especially for those working at Intel, SaleForce, and the likes nearby. Service is super friendly and the owner is a great guy to chat with. What's different about Saigon Bistro in comparison to other Vietnamese restaurants in the vicinity? The option of grab & go--not just banh mi, but ALL meals (with the exception of pho) including the delicious bun thit nuong. A new business and a new concept to the area I do foresee their growth, especially if their food is this good. Get the bun thit nuong: noodles soft and moist, pork seasoned well and cooked to perfection, cucumbers/veggies, and nuoc mam. This place is amazing, I have been waiting Yelp opens this store on this. I am very picky about the food but this place made me very happy though. I didn't try the sandwiches even though I knew they had good sandwiches. I tried the pork and rice dish and it was great. *You know what is the interesting here? They don't bring the food to you, you will pick up the food at the counter. Pretty cool ha? In addition, you must try their salad rolls, extremely fresh and yummy! So my husband and I have been to a lot of Pho places, and it is either and of the world or just A-ok. This place was absolutely fantastic. My husband had the Bun Bo Hue and as I was plating our stuff (we got take-out), I could not stop dipping my spoon into his broth and slurping it down. It was just amazing and addicting. I got my usual tendon and tripe pho. Again, the broth in my soup was delish, which isn't always the case since I don't have the slices of beef. We also go the pork and shrimp salad rolls and they were ginormous. Unfortunately, we did not take any pictures because we devoured it way to fast. If I were to give a complaint it would be that I called 20 minutes prior to picking up and then waited another 20 in the restaurant. Also, we weren't impressed with the peanut sauce (bland)... When you have huge salad rolls like that, give a bigger serving and make that peanut sauce just as amazing as the other food. I would have to say that I like this place more then pho tango, but pho tango also doesn't have Bun Bo Hue. read more

Five stars for being open during the snow storm with the perfect food! Objectively, solid bowl of pho. We had the special and a bowl of bun bo Hue. I liked the pho better, it was very fragrant and rich, with lots of meats and noodles. The BBH had lots of goodies, pigs feet and blood and all. The broth was a little bland, I expect a fair bit of punch from BBH. Fried egg rolls were awesome, crispy with a delicious filling and good salad. We're so glad they were open! We had been in once before and had some ok banh mis and good salad rolls. We're glad we came back, we'll be back for the pho again. Update 2/23/17: I went back and gave the banh mis another go, this time they were fantastic! I tried the cured pork one, the bread was perfect, good ratio of meat to veggies, just the right amount of heat. Saigon Bistro is a great place. It seems to be run by a couple and their son. My partner and I had the lemongrass pork Bahn Mi. We redeemed the egg roll and also ordered the Thai iced tea. It seems like they took awhile on the sandwiches to be made. Advice maybe order ahead. Egg roll was good. The Thai iced tea was a little bitter from the tea. Then the sandwiches came and those bad boys were real good. The amazing flavor combo that was going on in my mouth is something to appreciate. The service was great and the workers were friendly. I like how they give each person their own plate of besnsprouts, jalapeños, lime and basil. We went in and placed our order to go, which they charge you a small fee for pho to go orders. We didn't have to wait too long for our order but the customer service wasn't that great, they barely spoke to us and weren't very friendly. They do give you a lot of broth and noodles but not much meat or very fresh bean sprouts. If they made an effort to be more friendly I would've given them a higher rating. read more

I had a Thai Iced Tea and the Lemongrass Grilled Chicken for lunch. After leaving the restaurant my stomach started feeling questionable. Later that night, I ended up stuck in the bathroom puking everything up. My wife tried tried a bite of my meal and wasn't feeling great either, but didn't have it as bad as me. I tried #22 Lemongrass chicken and egg rolls vermicelli ($8.50). The "s" in the egg rolls was deceiving because they only gave a single egg roll chopped up into 3 pieces. It was tasty but kinda cold in the middle. I liked the rest of the dish too. Vermicelli with chicken, cucumber, lettuce, and carrot all mixed together with the sauce was very good. They tried to scam me. I ordered something for 10.95 and she rang me up for $14.95. There's no receipt exchange during the COVID pandemic so she tried to get away with fudging the numbers knowing I wouldn't be seeing the receipt. I happened to see the receipt and confronted her about it and she claimed it was an accident but I highly doubt it. I asked for a full refund. Don't want to give business to shady people. When I first started frequenting this place I liked the food. Things seemed fresh and the taste was on. More recently the quality has seemed to go down. It started with my coworker pointing out that his take out had a hair in which there was very poor response to. I was recently plagued with a bowl of pho that tasted almost sweet and a little sour. As someone who is Vietnamese, I know what pho should taste like. And man did I pay for it 7 hours later and for the following 6 hours! Food decent. Wait and expectations were not. Was told 8-10min, at 25min they came w order and said part of order not filled as we're out and would be refunded. Really, at 25min you tell me this so late home and nothing for my youngest. Ended up 35 min. That should have been discovered within a few minutes so I could adjust order. I realize an employee was out sick, when told at end; however, should have told up front on time impact and what they were out of to allow me that choice and would have totally understood. There are a handful of Vietnamese restaurants in the Hillsboro area, and I'm glad we chose this one try to this evening. Although they claim to be a Pho restaurant, they have many other dishes that are absolutely delicious. Their fish sauce chicken wings are a must try, 6 for $5, and also their banh mi sandwiches. The only one we tried this evening was the beef patty one and I must say, they definitely know how to marinade and season their meats! It is true, this place is a mom n' pop shop, but they're super friendly and even offer a punch card that gives you $10 off the 10th visit! Aside from the appetizers we ordered, the com tam (combination broken rice) which was very very good and filling, was easily enough food for 2 people, and also the wonton and bbq pork noodle soup was very good (with added red vinegar) as well. I would definitely eat here again and I even have family flying up here soon from the mecca of vietnamese communities, Bolsa, California, and this place is definitely worthy. Great place to eat when craving for quick Viet food. Weird that it's right next to Pho Tango but the pho here is good. Not the best but not the worst. The price is average but not a lot of meat for the price. I recommend the owners to add more meat to their pho. Bun bo hue is very good here. Must try if you haven't. Their banh mi is a must try as well. Not as good as Anh Xuyen bakery but the best I have had in the area. I came here when because the my usual Vietnamese place was closed for a holiday. I always order the Pho Dac Biet (listed on their menu as the "Special Saigon Noodle") whenever I want Pho. The broth here was good, but not the best I've had in the area. However their saving grace was that they packed this bowl full of cuts of meat. This was the first time I had more meat than noodles left in my bowl as I was reaching the bottom of it. The quality of the cuts were good overall. I definitely enjoyed the flank and meatballs, the steak was okay - I was chewing it more than I could taste it, there were only two pieces of tendon in my bowl but they were soft and I enjoyed them, and I didn't really notice any tripe. The serving size was very generous for it being just $9.50, I was full for the rest of the day after finishing this bowl. Overall I liked the Pho here. The super generous portions made it worth the price. I'm a sucker for really tasty broth though so my usual spot will still be my first choice, but I would definitely return if I needed a quick lunch to satisfy me for the rest of the day. read more
