Came into town for a quick getaway and immediately started craving Vietnamese food so finding this spot felt like a win. The service was fast (my order to go was ready in about 10-15 minutes), which I really appreciated. I'm especially glad they have a solid pho option here. The rare steak pho hit the spot rich, flavorful broth and just what I needed. The ribeye rice plate with garlic noodles and a fried egg was also a standout hearty, savory, and super satisfying. Only small downside: the Vietnamese coffee was a bit too sweet for my taste. But everything else delivered. Order: Rare steak pho Ribeye rice plate with garlic noodles + fried egg Vietnamese coffee

Rare steak pho on Sunday special was on point for my husband and our youngest daughter. They both cleaned their plates. The restaurant is clean with ample seating. I had a pork bahn mi, it was surprisingly well balanced with fresh veggies and tender meat, I prefer a little pate or mayo or sometimes both unless the meat is saucy enough to hold up to the bread on its own. I had to give them a 4 for two reasons; #1 both times I've ordered the bhan mi the bread has not been fresh and flaky but more on the chewy side and #2 I love salt and pepper tofu and while the lemon salt dip was on point the batter, texture and amount of tofu was not(maybe do a simple cornstarch dry batter, fry hard, drain well, poke holes in the container before you close the top) and for the love of all things recession an entire brick of tofu is 2$ 4$ tops I think it's fair to expect more than 9 small cubes for 11$.

UPDATE: I came here today for lunch with my wife and we had an awesome experience. We thoroughly enjoyed our lunch meals. I liked their garlic noodles but I wish it had more soy sauce and that buttery-garlic taste BUT it was still tasty nonetheless; it tasted more like chow mein. I paired the noodles with their salt & pepper chicken wings which were tasty and delicious. I love putting chili oil on the wings with every bite. My wife and I also loved their pho! The broth was on point and they don't skimp out on meat and toppings. Their pho is really good and deserves a lot of attention. I'm convinced, Pho Society is the best restaurant in this entire plaza. We can't wait to come back and try more dishes!

Full menu now includes the beef bone soup, my fav. This soup is enough to feed two people, super hearty with all the toppings. Also the spring rolls are better, they are using a better quality shrimp but the pork is just okay. Still enjoy eating here and service is very good.

I ordered grilled chicken banh mi and Thai tea to go. Food was good and service was quick. Loved it. I would come back again.

This is my 2nd time eating at this restaurant. The food is amazing and the staff are so kind and helpful. I love the lemon grass chicken and Thai tea.

We went to their soft opening and all the food was very good. The owners were very nice and accommodating. They did say a few menu items would only be available once they are fully open, so we look forward to that. My favorite dish was the Ho Fun with beef (all stir fry dishes have your choice of protein) My wife enjoyed her Mushroom Stir Fry with Tofu. The tofu was the crispiest I've had, which was a pleasant surprise. The flavor was good as well. My daughter had the Kids Chicken Noodle Soup which was also delicious. Basically a stripped down version of Pho, but they did offer veggies/lime if we wanted. Casual atmosphere and friendly service. We will definitely be back.

It is located in Discovery bay, food is good. The staff were friendly and checked in regularly to make sure everything was good. The restaurant had a relaxed and clean atmosphere, making it a nice spot for a casual lunch or dinner.

This place is so good it made me create a Yelp account just to leave this review . The pho broth is rich and delicious, and the service was very friendly. Highly recommend!

Amazing food and great portions! Their vermicelli bowl is better than what I've had in the bay area. Very friendly staff as well!

Yes, the Pho is fresh. Yellow Curry (comes with rice) is amazing! Not quite Thai style, but very tasty, creamy and well spiced.

We were in the area last month and I really wanted pho, especially since it was a chilly and stormy day. Golden Gate Pho came well recommended, so it was a no brainer for us to try their food. It was a quiet day, but service was friendly and attentive. We were seated immediately. There were only a few others dining in, so it was pretty peaceful. The restaurant was clean, with ample seating. We got to sit at a comfy booth this time, but there were also regular chairs and tables for larger groups. I went with the #60 pho, which comes only in the large size. My husband went with one of his favorite Vietnamese dishes, the beef stew with bread. We didn't have to wait very long for our food to arrive. The baguette that came with the beef stew was a really nice size. It was toasted and crunchy on the outside while pillowy on the inside. I tried a bit of the beef stew itself and it was tender and seasoned well, with a rich broth. My pho was so good. I loved that it was served with the rare steak on top for me to cook at the table. The herbs were fresh and the meat was tender. There was a good amount of meat as well, and the broth was flavorful without being heavy or oily. The noodles were perfectly cooked. This was definitely one of the best bowls of pho I've had besides at my usual spots in Sacramento. While we don't go to this area often, I would really love to return whenever we next pass through. Nothing beats a solid, comforting bowl of pho, and Golden Gate Pho fits the bill.

The staff too are always nice, the restaurant is very clean and has plenty of seating room. The location is also prime for grabbing a coffee there, or at Peet's, then going to trader Joe's after. Extra: I also used to live in San Jose, so finding this place means a lot to find such a yummy place.

The rice was cooked well, veggies were fresh, chicken was flavorful, and all the other toppings and sauce all worked well together. It was a world of flavors combined. The ONLY drawback that held me from giving Banh Mi Express a 5 star was the portion to price ratio. As stated earlier, I ordered a large, in which was a typical "meal prep" container. If that was the large, it made me think how small the regular size was. And to think it was basically $20 for a bowl -- thankfully it was delicious! I will definitely be coming back -- and I MUST try their sandwiches. I'm usually a sucker for Banh mi's.

They also had the World Cup on several TVs, so if you're trying to eat without missing the game, they've got you covered. I ordered the shaken beef with yellow rice, and it was the star of the meal. The beef was incredibly tender, packed with flavor, and the yellow rice was delicious too. Overall, a solid spot with good food, good service, and a relaxed atmosphere. I'll definitely be back! It was short drive to the Brentwood Center shopping mall and was able to park in front. Arriving at 1:45pm on a Friday, there were a couple of tables of customers. Restaurant was modern, clean and bright. They had some TVs and had world cup soccer on. They had a specials board with nine items with three in Vietnamese. Checking out the menu, we had some questions. Our waitress couldn't answer some of our questions and she had another waitress come and she was answered our questions and described the special items. I went with caramelized pork belly with rice special. It came in a cute little black pot with a plate of rice and a salad. There were four large pieces of pork belly in sauce and they were tender and tasty. There was a boiled egg in the pot as well. Friend ordered the vermicelli bun with grilled pork and egg rolls. She was happy with the dish especially and appreciated the sliced grilled pork. If in the area, would stop here again if looking for Vietnamese cuisine. Good food and friendly and efficient service.

Unfortunately, my most recent experience completely changed my opinion. I ordered a roll for my daughter with no avocado and added cucumber. When we got home, the roll only had crab inside. There was no cucumber at all. I called and simply asked for a refund, but I was told the chef insisted the cucumber was in the roll, so they refused. Instead, they told me to drive back so they could remake it. After driving another 20 minutes back (40 minutes of driving total), the employee inspected the roll herself and immediately saw that there was, in fact, no cucumber. So the issue I reported from the beginning was real. What disappointed me most wasn't the mistake. Mistakes happen. It was being treated like my word wasn't trustworthy after years of supporting this business. Rather than believing a loyal customer or offering a simple refund, I had to waste my time and gas proving that the order was incorrect. It makes me wonder if one roll was really worth losing a long-time customer. Customer service is about how you handle mistakes, and unfortunately this experience left me feeling undervalued. I hope management reconsiders how situations like this are handled in the future.
