Went here for lunch today was very disappointed! I got pho. brought it home started eating. the noodles had some texture type of something mixed up in them. totally a different texture and then it had fatty looking stuff in it not what the Pho I'm was expecting to eat Never had this experience here at this restaurant. Today was a cloudy/rainy day, so I thought it appropriate to order some warm pho for dinner. I am glad that I did because the warm meal hit the spot on this cold day. There was a dinner rush when I went in to pick up my order, but the employees handled things pretty quickly. My overall experience here was great. We came in and did a take-out order. It came in pretty good time, and the soup preserved its insanely hot temperature. Came in on a Saturday afternoon. Ordered the pork and the beef banh mi, spring tolls, egg rolls, combination pad Thai and their #26 with pork as choice of protein. The banh mi are ok, a little dry and missing jalapeños. Spring rolls were huge, but unfortunately filled with mostly lettuce. The egg rolls were good. The pad Thai was lacking the peanuty flavor that is synonymous with pad Thai, it was actually a little sour, like they squeezed a little too much lime in to it. I poured the peanut sauce that came with the spring rolls in to the pad thai to give it some flavor. The #26 is a rice plate that came with choice of protein, egg rolls and white rice. This is one of the best Pho places that I've been to in a while, I ordered the Vegetable Pho with Vegetable Broth and the Tofu Spring Rolls (I added Cucumber and Carrots); and both were delicious. The Broth had actual flavor; and the Vegetables were FRESH! Which was a huge step up from places I've been to recently that have had not the best tasting vegetables. The spring rolls were really good as well. The place is large but doesn't have that many tables open for dining in. And the service was really good; only one person was working the floor but he was very attentive. On my last three visits, I noticed the flavor of their pho broth has drastically changed and tastes watered down. It's also not as nourishing as it once was. I've had conversation with the owner when I first started coming about how unique their broth was. At the time I was told they used bones to make their bone broth and that is why it is so flavorful and nourishing. She also had mentioned that most Pho places sell the simmered/cooked bones to an outside source once they are done with them whereas they continuously cook and utilize their bones. I'm speculating that they are most likely selling the bones. I'm not a pho connoisseur, nor do I have any proof or confirmation on their processes and why there is a change - but point of the matter is, it's no longer the same; therefore, I am updating my initial review. :( Sadly and unfortunately, in my humble opinion the Pho Spot didn't maintain consistency and is no longer my go to local pho spot. We stopped here twice, once when we got to Rancho Cucamonga after a 5 hour drive from Arizona and once more before we left because it was that good. I got the large pho dac biet with no tendon. The broth was very flavorful and had a lot of depth. You could taste spices like cinnamon, cloves, and coriander. The soup had globules of oil that coated the rice noodles as they're pulled out of the soup. There was so much meat as well. The cuts all tasted fresh and tender. The Thai basil was vibrant and I think they might have picked their bean sprouts too! I rarely ever finish a plate of bean sprouts with my pho but they were so crisp, it was hard not to. We also got a pork vermicelli bowl. It came with two respectably sized egg rolls. The wrap was surprisingly airy and not too oily. Still nice and crispy. Some of the best rolls I've eaten. The staff (especially Victoria) are beyond friendly and attentive since it's a mom and pops establishment, the waitress knows my dietary restrictions as a vegetarian, so props to them for that! Their Rare beef noodles "pho tai" was decent. It was a bit salty. I think the soup base was on the plain side but can be a good thing since it's healthier. I was expecting strong beef flavor marinated overnight or some taste from bones. They serve all the right ingredients though that gave it more flavor, the bean sprouts, lemon, and basil leaves. The regular size pho bowl was good enough. The meat could have been more tender, instead they were all stuck together. The service was so slow. I used to eat pho A LOT back in the day, but have only had pho once since moving to Rancho Cucamonga! Since trying Pho Spot for the first time last month, I've been back 3 more times and I think we're going there again for dinner sometime this week. They're located in the same plaza as Stater Bros on Baseline & Carnelian; over on the east end of the plaza. They start you off with fruit infused water in a karaffe. Water taste fresh (no tap water flavor LOL). I've tried their shrimp spring rolls and both the rare beef and chicken pho. The broth here is really good and they don't use MSG. They told me it takes 20 hours to make their broth. The last time I was here, I ordered the chicken pho, and was surprised at how flavorful the broth was and they put so much white meat chicken in it. I'll definitely need to try their other dishes, but now that the weather is more chilly, I can't help but order the pho LOL. Great place! The broth is light, not oily, not fishy. They give ample soy packets, hot sauce, chopsticks, spoons and forks. You receive a good amount of rice noodles, water chestnuts, lemon slices, and jalapeños.
