I haven't been here in awhile and I remember it being great so I took my bf here for his birthday earlier this week. It was so delicious we came back again today! The service is concise and friendly. The woman working does everything in there! The table has a lot of sauces and accoutrement to mix up flavors in your food which is fun. The food comes fast and is so hot and fresh. They give you large full plates of fresh herbs and sprouts as soon as you order. We got the spring rolls and banh xeo which is a crispy fried crepe filled with pork, shrimp and vegetables. It's absolutely amazing and I wish I could eat it everyday. We got 2 types of pho, mine had sliced sirloin which was tender and flavorful and my bf got the seafood pho which had a ton of squid and shrimp. The portions are massive and they don't shy on the noodles at all. I can't finish a bowl in one sitting. We also ordered jasmine iced tea which was floral and fresh and they give you a HUGE refill pitcher of it! The value is incredible. We had all that food for under 60$ and had plenty to take home. They have Togo containers and bags up front so you can help yourself, which I love.. I cannot wait to come back again and try more of the menu! read more

Either totally ignorant or total disregard for timing of online order My guess is they misread the time for the order and prepared the food hours early, realised their mistake and decided to just stick it in the fridge. Why waste money making fresh batch at the correct time right? My food arrived on time but very evident that its been stored in refrigerator for hours! I'm almost ashamed of myself for not sharing this restaurant sooner!!! I have found this place to be the #1 Vietnamese food in Mesa!! I've been eating Vietnamese food since the early 90s lol and this the the most authentic, tasty, fresh and super flavorful place in Mesa! Literally the fish sauce is good enough to swim in and the BBQ pork is sweet, grilled perfection, savory and HIGHLY addictive (#69) Most definitely add on the Vietnamese version of egg rolls (#49) served with the freshest fish sauce, green leaf or romaine leaves, with a sprig or two of freshly cut mint!!! Yummo!!!! Their shrimp rice paper rolls with peanut sauce are divine!!! You may have to wait a bit for your food, but trust me, it's so totally worth it! They have a sweets/desserts refrigerator that you can help yourself to and baked goods that quickly run out of stock! 4.5/5 for com tam. Comparable to the popular "com tam Thien Huong" in San Jose but the grilled pork was quite dry. Otherwise, everything else pork skin/meatloaf/fried egg/broken rice/fish sauce were all made on point and authentic even better than com tam Thien Huong. With the weather cooling off in the desert, I longed for a big bowl of hot pho. Pho Thuån Thånh is a no-frills restaurant that serves authentic Vietnamese cuisine. The menu was extensive, but I narrowed it down to a large bowl of pho with sliced beef and a broken rice plate served with a wide assortment of meats and a fried egg. After eating all this delicious food, I finished it with a refreshing cup of ché. This meal could not have been any better. The pho was comforting, and the side of vegetables was very fresh. As I pulled up to this location I could see it was definitely a restaurant to take lots of friends or family too. There are lots of seats and tables so don't worry about a long wait! The ladies at the front were also so nice and welcoming, and we were able to sit where we wanted. After looking at the large menu and it's many features, I realized, this place must be very authentic! I would have tried other options, but this night in particular, I was definitely craving pho, so I tried the sliced beef pho. I always have to get a side of spring rolls too! The pho was pretty delicious, I enjoyed the broth and flavor. The portion was good as well, and I always add in the extra veggies on the side. The spring rolls were exactly how I like them, super fresh and chewy! Picked up an order of Banh Xeo (#70) and Bun Bo Xao (#34) . The Good: - Banh Xeo was really crispy even though it was takeout. It was decently stuffed with bean sprouts, meat, and shrimp. The Okay: - The Banh Xeo batter lacked flavor and was really thin. Husband and I were looking for a new spot for good Vietnamese food since some of our other places near by were closed on Mondays. We were quickly pulled out our phones to find a new place to try. Found this whole in the wall pho thuan Thanh and I'm glad we gave it a try! Food was delicious. I got the com tam dish and my husband got the banh mi thit nuong and a bowl of pho. Which is all 3 items we got were all good. The servers were older looking couple and were super nice. Very attentive and made sure we got everything we needed. Food came out fast too. I was so excited to try this place due to the reviews. I went with my husband, my cousin, and our cousin. Total of 4 people. The waiter/owner pointed to a table in the back and we sat there. 10 mins later he came to our table to get our drinks. My husband asked for a Pepsi, the waiter looked at me and asked me if I want a water, which I never asked for, but I said yes. He completely ignored my cousin and son, and walked away. We laughed about it and just figured he forgot. He came back with the waters 10 mins later and my cousin finally asked for his Pepsi. We asked for 2 orders of crab puffs, and 3 orders of 3A. We all got the same thing to make it easier. We walked into the restaurant at 5:56, and got seated right away but after we placed our order, no one came back. The waiter kept looking at us, so he knew we didn't get any food at all. We were looking around us and the big group of people (12 people) were getting their food before us. I don't know if it was a racial thing, but we were the only Mexicans in the restaurant and the ONLY ones not getting served. At 7:04pn I called it quits. We went up to the register to at least pay for our 2 Pepsis, the owner looked at us, and turned around. We were so fed up we walked out. Then he has the nerve to chase us out the door yelling "you didn't pay for your food " we said "we never received any of our food, and we just tried paying for our Pepsi " and owner turned around, looked at our table, saw we didn't get any food, and the just walked back inside. We've been dining here for years and this place is always solid and never disappoints. Everyone is always friendly and welcoming. The food is always on point! This time I had the Combination Rice Plate and it was so delicious! Its presentation was beautiful and I enjoyed all the delicious savory flavors from each meat on the plate. This was honestly the best pho I've had in a long time. I'm staying in AZ for the week and was craving something soup-y, pho, ramen, etc., and landed here. Everything was fresh. They give you a good amount of noodles. The broth had flavor, but also allowed you to add in your sirracha, hoisin, and other sauces to your liking giving it a nice blend. The regular size was perfect. They have a larger size, but I was totally happy with the amount of food provided. Hidden gem in Mesa, not far from MCC. I don't know why I have never hear about this place before. I stopped by because I saw photos of steamed bun on Yelp. I used to be able to get them in uptown Phoenix, but since I moved I could not find them close by. Unfortunately they did not have buns when I went on the weekend lunch, but I got my second favorite rice porridge with pork organs. All organs including blood are clean, delicious, and not chewy. The thinly slide ginger and green scallions are the best compliment to this hot bowl of rice porridge. Vietnamese pancake banh xeo is also very tasty. I love to enjoy it with a big bag of veggies they provided. I will definitely go back when I am in the area to try other dishes. They have a huge menu of variety of noodle and rice dishes. read more

If you know about Da Vang in Phoenix then this is the East Side version. Because it is in the Da Vang family and has the same recipes, it may be nostalgia but I think this is one of my favorite restaurants for Vietnamese food because of the homestyle flavor. If you know anything about Asian food in general, the taste in decor or the interior of the restaurant does not have to appeal to the eye for the food to be good. This hole-in-the-wall is a prime example, so don't let the tacky set-up ward you off. My favorite rice dish is Com Tam Bi Cha Thit Nuong. On this visit, it was excellent. The egg loaf and the shredded pork can tend to be dry and old at a lot of places, but here it was fresh and moist. The bbq pork was marinated just right- juicy, tender, and cooked perfectly, not burnt. I don't think I've had a better dish of the Com Tam Bi Cha Thit Nuong in recent years. When I do not order a rice dish, I order the pho. The pho is not oily or too salty in my opinion. You can't go wrong with their noodle soups. The bo kho is also pretty tasty with the tomato and anise and other spices jumping all over my taste buds. Even the wonton soup with egg noodles is a crowd-pleaser. The bahn mi? Yep, I like these here too. Simple yet delicious. Overall everything tastes good. Compared to other Viet spots where you have to pick and choose because only certain menu items are decent. Needless to say, I am never disppointed when I go here. The portions are generous and probably end up taking some home. Speaking of left-overs... It may be a positive or negative depending how you look at it but they have a self-serve to-go / leftover container shelf accessible for your convenience. read more

HORRIBLE SERVICE!!!! Very racist!!! The guy who is in the front didn't greet me, acted as if he didn't even want to look at me. But the next customer who came in after me, got a warm hello and was seated. The guy also took forever to take my order- and place my order but took the guy who came in after me, took his order first. After he took my order, he was looking around at the ceiling, arranging chairs, stocking cups, etc and then put in my order. I was annoyed but starving and really craving good pho first thing in the morning so I stayed. My food came out and everything looked amazing... the food was very tasty. Once I was finished, I asked for a to-go box... he pointed in a direction and said "over there". It didn't look like it was an area that I should grab my own to-go bag and styrofoam container but whatever. I asked to check out and was still pleasant throughout this horrible service. Meanwhile, the Asian guy who came after me received great service. All in all, the food was great but I refuse to be treated poorly as a paying customer. I will not return back here at all. The beef and pork dish wrapped in grape leaves were delicious! Flavor was on point and everything tasted fresh. Interesting how they cut out the rice wrap to quarters but it works for smaller bites. This is my first review of this restaurant. I've been a customer for four years, ever since a friend recommended it. Recently, I experienced and observed the worst treatment, which is completely unacceptable. The staff did not greet us because of our ethnicity, yet they were courteous to others of the same ethnicity. This place is Vietnamese, and while the food is excellent, I strongly advise finding a different restaurant. My partner and I love Vietnamese cuisine, but the customer service has dramatically declined. The elderly gentleman at the front desk in a blue shirt and silver necklace was rude. Another staff member handed us our food without a greeting. Staff members ignore customers completely, with no one saying hello. The cashier spoke to us in a derogatory and demanding manner. Additionally, there is a 2.999% fee for card payments, which we avoid by paying cash--mainly because we do not trust staff with our financial information. I recommend staying away unless you accept poor service and attitude. The food is good, but I will never return. It's time to move on. If you're reading this, you've lost a loyal customer due to your terrible attitude and service. Improve your customer care immediately. read more
