Tried take-out from this new Pho restaurant in New Paltz. I ordered the beef momo and the vegetable pho. Both were great! The momo was juicy and flavorful, I will definitely get it again. The veggie pho was delicious, I'd highly recommend especially if you're sick. I love how they packed bean sprouts and jalapeños with the pho and how the soup and veggies were in separate containers. This prevented the veggies from becoming soggy. Altogether it was $21. Great price. Excited to try more! read more

First, the food is amazing. But every single visit, the service was lousy and I'm finally not going back. The server comes up and asks if were ready to order. Not drinks, not hello, not recommendations, just short and rushed. Then I'm shown a electronic bill and put on the spot to give a generous tip (20% is just listed as ok on the bill shown). Its just tacky and for $64 lunch for two people, no longer worth it. This place needs staff training. It could be a game changer. My husband and I have been to Pho Tibet and it was pretty good. The beef Pho was delicious and the broth was full of flavor. Today, not that great. The beef momo and Pho were very tasty. My husband ordered the grilled shrimp over vermicelli was disappointing. The noodles were luke warm, stuck together and didn't have enough sauce. There was a sauce on the side that had so much fish sauce making it inedible and repulsive. The waitress never came over to see if our food was ok. By the time she came over, it was time to get our check and never asked why I barely touched my meal. I didn't send it back because we ate most of the shrimp but nothing else. I was visiting New Paltz with some friends and we wanted something soupy and nourishing and found Pho Tibet on yelp. The restaurant is spacious and has a hip college vibe with a young waitstaff as it's located not too far the SUNY New Paltz campus. The service was fast and accomodating and they have mostly viet food with some tibetan items, mostly the momos. We ordered a beef pho, shortrib salad, beef momos, spring rolls, and a banh mi. I'd skip the shortribs as it was a bit well done and dry. The pho had a nice broth that wasn't too rich and the banh mi had a soft and chewy bun. I was pleasantly surprised by the food here after reading some mixed reviews and deciding to stop in on a whim passing through New Paltz. The service, though performed by very young people, was sufficiently professional. The pho was really good -- not the absolute best I've ever had, but definitely tasted right and was well portioned. We ordered the pho Tibet special and the vegetable pho. The Tibet special was delicious and very flavorful. It includes shredded beef. They give a generous amount of bean sprouts and a couple of jalapeno separately. Definitely add lime juice, it enhances the flavors. The vegetable pho is a good option for vegetarians, but it is no where as good as the meat phos. The broth lacked depth and it tasted a little bit sweet. Could use more spices. We ordered online for pickup on Sunday evening. Ordering was easy, and they said it would be ready in 15-20 minutes. It was ready on time, and pickup was easy. Food was fresh and very good. The only comment I have is that the small dressing container for my dinner salad was only about 1/2 full and it just wasn't enough dressing. Overall, I was pleased with my experience. I enjoyed my Pho Tibet Special Bahn Mi sandwich a lot, as I found it quite delicious. My friend and I also split the shrimp spring rolls, which I also thought were quite good. My friend had the pho tibet special vermicelli. He liked it but would have preferred that the sauce been mixed in with the noodles, as this is how he said he has had it at many other pho places. I also thought that the service was decent as well. I liked the atmosphere a lot too. It was nice and spacious inside, and had interesting decorations. Dining area and bathrooms were both very clean as well. Location is right in downtown New Paltz, and the parking consists of street parking. One could also park on one of the side streets and walk a little further if needed. Only reason I am giving 4 stars because my friend who is very experienced with eating at pho restaurants would not classify it as the best he has ever had. But I still highly recommend if you are in New Paltz! I found my food delicious, the servers to be friendly, the atmosphere to be good, and the place to be very clean. Give it a try! read more

We were a bit skeptical going in...Cos Tibet and Vietnam are kinda far apart lol. But dishes from both cuisines were perfect. The pho broth was so rich and the beef shaptak more succulent than anything in McLeodganj (the closest I've been to Tibet). They obviously use THE best ingredients. what better way to reward ourselves than with delicious food after a 6 hour hike!! Stumbled upon this place as we were exploring the town and we couldn't have chosen a better place. The food is super yummy and filling, the atmosphere endearing and the service is fast and super friendly. Ordered the beef over rice and shared a pho Tibet to share. Both dishes were super flavorful and beautifully prepared (so much so, that I couldn't even wait to take a pic of my pho!). It just made for a feel-good meal that leaves you feeling full and super satisfied. You can walk in close to closing time and they'll still seat you without any drama (although the Momo they stop serving first, so get here on time if you're craving dumplings!). The summer rolls they serve year round, unlike some places that only serve them, um, in the summer. Yay! I love the way they have a board at the entrance listing which menu items are (or can be made) gluten-free, vegetarian, and vegan. The menu also specifies which items have nuts. Lots of space in here for big groups, and there's a restroom in the back. Reasonable prices, pay cash or card. Excellent friendly service, and they give kids candy on Halloween. read more

This is a long overdue review. I rarely write reviews for restaurants but after I had their vegan pho, it was a must. I've lived on both coasts, and have tried vegan phos all over the country. I've had vegan pho from various Pho restaurants in California which is home to the largest Vietnamese population in the country and the largest amount of vegan/vegetarian restaurants. This was the best vegan pho I've had yet. The broth was flavorful, complex, well balanced and filled with umami goodness. The vegetables were cooked perfectly; tender with just the right about of bite and texture to them. The soy protein was hearty and flavorful. Just the right combination of broth, noodles, vegetables and self serve condiments (bean sprouts, basil, lime slice, jalapeño slices). Typically, I have to add a fair amount of hoisin and sriracha to my phos. This was the least amount of both I've ever used in my pho because it needed very little addition of extra flavors. Service was prompt and friendly. I also liked the Tibetan vibe. My only regret is not getting another one for takeout. Unfortunately, I live over 2 1/2 hours away so I will have wait until my next sojourn to the area to order 1 vegan pho for dine-in, and another for takeout to satisfy my vegan pho needs. Unfortunately their vegan pho has spoiled me, and other vegan phos pale in comparison. read more

This was the first time my husband and I have tried this place and it was AMAZING. We both had the Pho Tibet Special, but I had the soup form and he had it in the rice form. Both were very delicious, but tasted totally different. I had pulled pork in mine, and it melted in my mouth. They gave me a side of sprout beans, lime to squeeze in, basil, and jalapeño. It had a tiny kick to it for me, so i didn't put the jalapeño in it. The waitstaff was amazing. We got served quickly, even though they didn't have that many people. They also had masks on and took great measures to keep their customers safe. If and when we come back in the area, this is one of the places that we will be eating at again, we will definitely get something different. read more

On a gloomy afternoon, we found ourselves Yelping for a late lunch place by New Paltz area. Pho Tibet was on the way, and trusting other recent reviews, we decided to come here. The braised beef over rice was tender and flavorful. My mom who's a picky eater was well-pleased with her choice. The Pho Special was excellent, too. I was warned that it would be spicy, I categorize it as "mild." I suspect that it's the same beef served with the "over rice" one and I'm glad that I'm not missing out. The beef momos was filling, but the dough was a bit too much at the top. It's not a deal breaker though, I promise. This is a solid Vietnamese/Himalayan spot in NY. The classic Ban mi is delicious as is the short rib version. The chicken summer rolls are also very tummy and have a tasty peanut dipping sauce on the side. The beef momo and the classic pho were a little on the bland side. The pho broth had little flavor and although there are sauces on the table, you'd want it to be flavored so you don't have to add it. Indoor seating is now open at 25% capacity so there is a lot of space to move around. read more

Tried this place out because from the outside it looked promising, but we were greeted unprofessionally and told to sit at the "small table". We were excited for the food but the momos skin was too thick and the meat tasted of onions too much. A pleasant experience, spoiled by really bad payment procedures. The food was basically fine - brisket with mixed salad - and would have earned a solid four stars. The restaurant lost two points, however: first, the server shows up less than a minute after clearing the dishes and shows a tablet with just an amount on it, and four suggestions for tip: "Good" is 20%, "Very Good" is 25%, "Excellent" is 30% and "Best Ever" is 35%. No bill is presented, and it turns out that the suggested tips are, in fact, on top of the after tax prices (effectively 21.6, 27.0, 32.4 and 37.8%). Then, the card is tapped and there is no print-out of the receipt (you're meant to provide your email/phone so you can be bombarded with spam offers). When I requested a print-out, the server scowled and came back with a receipt... only then did I see that a stealth charge of 3% had been added to the final amount for the "convenience" of using a credit card.
