Right now, this restaurant is open with a limited menu. After an entire morning of shopping for a washing machine, we decided to go to a place near our house for lunch. We arrived just a bit before closing time. I asked the one employee I saw there if it was ok to have lunch. We were warmly welcomed so we sat down and were the only customers there. We ordered combination pho, brisket pho, and spring rolls. Spring rolls were not greasy and very crisp. I enjoyed them very much. There are so many pho places in my area that it's difficult to say which one is the best, but..... ok, this place has really good spring rolls at less than 10.00. The pho - broth was rich and delicious, but i really wish they'd offered us jalapeños, lime, and lemongrass instead of just bean sprouts, basil, and a wedge of lemon. This place is just blocks away from my house so it's very convenient, and service was very good. The food was satisfying but not exceptional. I'd come here when they expand their menu again to what it was before the pandemic. Since my husband is a huge Pho enthusiast, we're always trying various Pho spots to see which one hits the spot and tastes closest to home (we're Vietnamese lol). My husband and his coworker we're raving about this spot so I figured we'd check it out one day. They're located at the beginning of Kalakaua Ave but the free parking lot is located on Beretania st. There are several stalls open on the 1st floor lot which is a huge plus in town. The restaurant is pretty roomy which made it easier for the workers to space everyone out and keep them 6 feet apart. They don't open till 5pm on Saturday so we were one of the first few patrons in there at 5:30. Make sure to have covid vaccination card handy. Service was quick and the female worker was nice and mentioned that she gave us extra fresh veggies on the side and even asked if he wanted extra noodles at the end. I ordered the medium Pho with brisket and meat balls and my husband got the large combination. Prices are fair with the medium bowls at $11.50 and the large at $12. The broth was really tasty and flavorful without having to even add any hoi sin sauce or sriracha. I knocked off two stars because I was disappointed with the slices of brisket. I'm used to nice big slices of brisket with a little bit of fat on it to make it rich and fulfilling, but the pieces of brisket in my bowl seemed like shredded small leftover pieces of brisket at the bottom of the pot:(. That part sort of killed my bowl of Pho. The best part was the broth though, so maybe next time I'll get the good ol' round steak to lessen the disappointment. I thought they still had the BOGO half off on Saturdays but they no longer have that special going on:(. However if you are a doctor or nurse, they are giving 10% off Monday - Friday. This is as about as basic as you can get for Vietnamese food. It isn't bad, but it isn't special in anyway or form. The place is clean and the staff friendly. They have a menu with all the classics of a Vietnamese Pho restaurant, but I couldn't find anything unique like a signature dish or something different from other places. I ordered a basic combination pho. The broth was good, but lacked something. Of course by the time you add the siracha and veggies, who can tell. I found it a bit skimpy on the veggies, but then it was just me eating, so they probably gave me less as a solo diner. It was okay, but nothing I would make it a point to go back for. Parking is a real challenge for this place. They do have free parking, but it is awkward to get too and if you are not paying attention, you might miss it. Although I didn't see any problems with the parking area, it seemed kind of spooky with not attendant or cameras around to monitor it. If you are lucky, you might find street parking, but that would be very lucky at that. The one thing about this place is that they are cheap. One of my favorite pho places on the island. Been going to Pho Tri for years, and realized I never gave them a fair review. They are excellent. Their menu is simple and streamlined. They make pho and they do it extremely well. The amount of meat that they give is always very generous. Their house made Sambal is incredible. Above all the people there are genuinely some of the nicest people I have met. Their customer service is excellent. With great sadness I'm writing this review For 15 years this was my go-to Pho restaurant. It had the perfect location of great food, convenient location, easy parking, clean interior, and reasonable prices. Pre pandemic the prices were $9.50 for a medium bowl, $9.99 for a large bowl. On saturdays, they would do the a second bowl at 50% off. Other days, they would give you a free fountain drink with any entree. During the pandemic, those two promos stopped. That's fine, it was too cheap anyway. How is the owner even making money? In the last 18 months however, the price on the large bowl went to $10.99, then $12.99, then 13.99, and YESTERDAY THEY RAISED IT AGAIN TO $15.99 $16 for a bowl of soup is a bit much. Tab for two with two drinks was $44, and after tip and tax we're talking more than $50 Sadly yesterday's meal will be my last at Pho Tri. A 60% increase is just too much within 18 months. For this price, you can literally go to Nico's at Pier 38 and get two plate lunches with fresh caught fish, and 2 beers (since lunch there you don't need to leave a tip). Its all about value for money and Pho used to be an inexpensive meal. If I want pho now, I'll go to chinatown where its still around $13. Shout out to Tammy at Pho Tri. We will greatly miss you! While visiting Hawaii, found this place based on the amount of high rating Yelp reviews. Came with high hopes and left extremely disappointed. I've had some amazing phos in my lifetime and this place left such a horrible, plastic like taste in my mouth. Let's start with the appetizer: summer rolls, these were fresh you can tell they were made today. The peanut sauce was watery, so I'll pass on that. Soup ordered #11 rare eye of round steak ..... here's where this place was such a let down. #11 comes out meat is so rare (huge win for this) but the broth, OMG, this was horrible. The broth was clear... in my years I've never seen clear broth for a beef soup... the noodles tasted like plastic. (Yuck) I added Sriracha and hoisin sauce to see if I can turn things around with this soup. Nope big flop. Now I had warm water with sauce just floating and the meat still not cooking. Overall this was a 1/10. I had literally 2 bites... and had to stop. Oh and to add insult to injury there was a dead bug floating in my water, which I didn't notice when I tried to wash away the plastic taste of the soup. Good luck to anyone who tries this place. Aloha, okay it's hard to mess up Vietnamese food as if you do, you're not around anymore. Pho Tri has a great Saturday special of buy 1 pho & get 1 at 1/2 price, eat in only. So of course it's not a Saturday, but was doing take-out anyway this time. Solid pho with lots of basil (nice). They pack it up well. Although I've only been here twice on Saturday they have a very nice big room in the back for larger groups, nice. We did a cousins lunch here on a big round table. Disappointing. The food did not seem as good as it did before the renovation. We ate family style and the portions were small and the waitress seemed to deliberately get our order wrong. We asked for 2 pieces of lettuce so we could eat the last bit of fried rolls but instead of lettuce we received an 2 more fried rolls. Not sure how much they charged for that. We ordered chicken curry. Soooo watery it had no taste. There were lots of potatoes and some small pieces of meat. She asked if we wanted rice or noodles with it. Hmmm I wonder what kind of noodles. She never mentioned and we did not ask. It appears they only have white rice. No sticky rice. The green papaya salad was small. The amount on the plate wasn't too much. The prices have gone up. Not as tasty as one I had at someone's party. The large pho comes with a small amount of veggies and now I know why there is a section of sides in the menu to add more noodles and ingredients. Wow hardly saw any tendon. The broth seemed watered down too. We also ordered one of their specials the crepe that is not made with eggs. I think it is supposed to be some kind of ground bean mixture as the crepe and vegetables and either, shrimp, meat or tofu. We ordered meat. NO SHRIMP because someone does not eat shrimp. When it arrived it had lots of shrimp. When we mentioned it to the waitress she said she put down all shrimp. We said no we said meat like chicken. She said no chicken but have pulled pork they can open and throw inside. We said that is not what we ordered we want no shrimp. She took it back and it came back rather fast. Instead of making a new order they just took out some of the shrimp and threw in some pork and little tofu. I know they did not make a new order since it came out fast and there was still some shrimp inside. The crepe portion was not crispy any more. Wow now I know why it did not seem as busy as before. Higher prices, smaller portions, and lack of taste besides not getting our order correct and serving us other things anyway. I am quite sure they gave us beef instead of chicken. It was a bit tough and did not taste like chicken. When she mentioned later no chicken during the crepe dish I thought if no chicken how did we have a chicken curry dish before. I live right next door so you would think I would come here all the time. Not my first choice for pho despite the convenient location. Their Saturday, BOGO: buy one get one 50% off, dine in only pho is a draw and they are often busy on Saturdays. I probably get take out from here once every 6 weeks when I don't know what to eat and want something quick. I am from Vietnam, mom cooks Vietnamese food a lot and I eat Vietnamese food a lot, so I feel credible with my taste buds at the Vietnamese eatery. While I don't get their pho, there are some dishes I do enjoy and they do well. Lemon steak salad $9.99. The steak beef that they use for pho goes in this salad. Generous amount of meat that is medium and partially cooked by the lemon juice. Tender, light and healthy. Fish sauce vinaigrette, great with some siracha. Their chicken salad $8.75 is a tasty option too. Shredded head cabbage is the greens used so make sure you like that. I really like their BBQ pork summer rolls 2 for $6.50. So tasty! When I'm not too hungry, this is enough for a meal. It also comes in BBQ chicken but I find the pork more flavorful. Soft friend noodle with seafood $12.99. They use the same noodles used for pho and create a stir fried dish. Think pad Thai but Vietnamese style. It had broccoli, cabbage, carrots and you have an option of chicken, pork or seafood. I like the seafood most but got chicken tonight to share with my partner that is allergic to shellfish. It was a large serving and even with sharing some, I have lunch for tomorrow. Their lemongrass chicken $9.99 is tasty. #44: Combination rice plate $12.99. This is cam tom: broken rice with pork four ways (pork chop, shredded pork, grilled pork slices, pork egg loaf) I've tried their curry and beef stew and that wasn't something I would get again. I think it's about time to update my review on this place called Pho Tri Vietnamese restaurant. Pops was craving Pho, so I decided to take him to Pho Tri Vietnamese restaurant tonight, instead of our favorite joint - Pho Nina. I have to tell you folks, if you ever decide to go to Pho Tri on a Saturday..........please be prepared to wait a little......... Why do I say this? Well, it just so happens when I came here tonight, I noticed a sign that said - if you buy a bowl of pho, you can get the 2nd bowl of pho for 1/2 price (the deal is only on Saturdays). Can you imagine how crowded this place got today???? I think they have like 20 tables inside of this restaurant, and guess what? All 20 tables were taken tonight, with a small line of people waiting patiently by the door entrance for their turn to get an open table. I couldn't believe the great deal I got here, as I ended up paying just $14.92 (with tax) for two large bowls of pho! Pops got the Combination Pho, & I got the Chicken Pho. Both pho's came to us with a lot of meat in it, and a very generous portion of noodles. The only down side of my pho is that they did't give as much veggies for your pho........... but since they give you so much noodles & protein.........I guess it would be kinda hard to fit in all that vegetables anyway. Tonight's broth came out very hot, & the broth was very flavorful! Prices here for their various pho is just $9.00 for a medium bowl, and $9.50 for a large bowl............Dealages Yo! I really enjoyed my meal tonight, so I guess I will be putting this place back on my radar...........but I might pass on coming here on a Saturday, especially if I'm in a rush. read more

I ordered pho and summer rolls. The medium size pho actually came with a lot. I ordered takeout and it came with a huge back of veggies, hoisin and some ginger sauce that's as great. It's been pretty cold and rainy and I've been wanting to try Pho Tri's Saturday BOGO pho. We were a little worried about finding parking, but pulled up to the restaurant and found the street stall right in front was empty. I like to think I have good parking karma. We entered and waited for a couple minutes for one of the servers to notice we were there. There were probably 6 or 7 waitresses buzzing around because it was busy, but no one stopped to greet us, ask us to wait, nothing. When someone did notice us, we were seated in the second room (I guess they took over the business next door.... it's kind of an awkward layout. The two of us were seated at a 6 top and a guy eating alone was seated on the other side of the table. We ordered pho (they have all the usual beef toppings, seafood pho, veggie pho and chicken pho to choose from). I got the combination. All the pho's are like $9 for a medium and $9.50 for a large, so it's pretty inexpensive to begin with. We also ordered some spring rolls. I thought the food was decent. The spring rolls were crunchy and the pho had a lot of meat. The pho broth probably wasn't the most flavorful I had, but when it comes out to $5 per bowl, I'm not complaining. We got the larges and I was able to take home a while take out container of leftovers. Service wasn't great. There was actually one waitress that was better than the others, but our waters were never refilled and you should expect a wait for your food after you order. We went up to pay because it seemed like they forgot about us after dropping off the food. I'd be back for BOGO pho. I'd definitely come at 6;30 or earlier, though because when we were leaving at about 7:30, there was a huge crowd of people at the door waiting to get in. read more

Pho Tri has never disappointed me. we eat there almost weekly and always have our food ready quickly! the serving is large and the price is great. i usually get brisket and rare steak with a side of extra rare steak. the side order of steak is big and well worth the extra charge. they do not shy on veggies and herbs either! they also brew each cup or tea or coffee per order so it's always delicious! if you want consistent pho and quick, you gotta check out pho tri. it's worth noting that we always get take out but the restaurant is always clean when i pick up my food, customers seem happy, and they take efforts to maintain covid 19 safety protocols. read more

Total bill for 4 bowls of pho + 1 Thai tea & pork summer rolls = 44.39 This comes out the same if we went to eat at another pho restaurant. My sister likes to come here because of their Saturday special (buy 1 get the 2nd for 1/2 off) and for the times I have decided to join, it has been OK but the last time I came here I walked out disappointed. Generally, the food is good, they give you A LOT of veggies and the waitstaff are friendly. Because they are busy on Saturdays service is not that great. I always order the deluxe Pho (tendon and all) w/ my rare beef on the side and fresh lemonade but the staff jumped the gun and got my drink wrong. Lemonade is clear but my drink came out "colored and murky" so I asked the waitress "Is this lemonade?" but she didn't speak much English so the manager / supervisor came over to tell me "Oh, there's li-hing powder inside. Many people like li-hing powder in the lemonade." I replied back "I may be local born and raised but I DO NOT care for li-hing powder at all. I DO NOT want this so please take it away." They then offered to make me a new one but I REFUSED as I had lost my interest in the lemonade. In the end, I ate my Pho, which was tasty as I LOVE their hot sauce but clearly disappointed on how DID NOT offer any apology for their error. My rating just went from Pho to Tri because of this... Remember the infomercial where the guy says.. "You set it, and forget it!" I think this is one of those restaurant where they set... and forget you. Never once the waitress visited my table to refill my water. I had to walk up to the counter and poured myself a glass. I ordered the Pho with Eye Round Steak and Fat Brisket on the side. The meat was tender and just breaks apart in your mouth. I like the fat brisket on the side so it doesn't get over cooked in the soup, best if it's medium rare. The soup was ok, if it was a tad hotter it would have been better. I also got the BBQ pork slices. Not sure if it's bbq or deep fried. What makes it bbq. Do you grill it to get that burned look then deep fry it? On my way to this restaurant, I passed Mai Lan Vietnamese Cuisine with a 3-Star rating. Had I known my experience here was a 3-Star, I wouldn't have walked the extra quarter mile. read more

But compared to other Vietnamese Pho restaurants, these summer rolls were skinny at 1" thick. Usually Summer rolls are 2" thick. Flavor was ok. But the Peanut sauce was very watery and not tasty. I ordered to go a BANH XEO or also known as Vietnamese crêpe with shrimp and pork and beans sprouts. Since I took it to go, it was hot in a container the crepe was not as crunchy as I like it to be. However, it was still satisfying. There were a lot of basil and mint included and a handful of lettuce. This is the best pho I have ever had aside from my mom's. This includes California and Hawaii. It's baffling how good value it is compared to other places. For $14 you will be full for 2 days, AND you can ask for free extra noodles. AND the customer service is first class. Place is very clean and feels very homely. I honestly think this is the best restaurant under $40/person in Hawaii, not just Vietnamese, overall. Of course there are better places if you spend $40+ but nothing can beat Pho Tri for the price.
