Today I got to taste the Spicy Beef Soup (House Special) and it really was good. Also, the service was very friendly and helpful.

Very good but expensive. Ambiance is nice too. Staff is very attentive and will refill water. I enjoyed the sampler. Everyone enjoyed their dishes.

Wanted to eat bahn mi sandwich for lunch so I was on yelp looking for a place to go well there is alot in our area chinatown but no parking and need to walk maybe couple of blocks. So I came across this one located at the manoa market place. Being its Sunday parking was crowded because of the small open market they have. Located upstairs 2nd floor i said to my husband oh my got to climb the stairs. But we didn't have too there's a elevator to the 2nd floor. Yay. Caught it and there it was the restaurant. We ordered spring rolls and my bahn mi BBQ chicken sandwich. The spring rolls were good the taste was well prepared. But only 3 rolls on 1 order. The bahn mi was good had clinatro, cucumber and jalapeño and sliced carrots and daikon on the bottom. The chicken had a little spice in it but could handle it. Enjoyed the sandwich and spring rolls. Would go back again.

BBQ Chicken rice plate with Thai Milk Tea
Germaine J.

FOOD -- BBQ Chicken rice plate was tasty, flavorful, well seasoned! I also had a Thai tea that was good. They have a Teaspresso bar inside the restaurant -- I never expected a restaurant that has a built-in boba shop inside. SERVICE -- Service was great. I came here with a group of 4, and spent like 2-3 hours in this place to discuss a project and the workers didn't rush us out of the place which I greatly appreciated. This place also offers karaoke rooms upstairs, by the hour. AMBIANCE -- The ambiance felt warm and cozy-- wooden furniture; red, orange, yellow, purple tones in their led lights. The AC strength is acceptable for a hot summer day. The place is overall spacious and has high ceilings.

Shrimp pho, chantilly cake, banana tapioca (DO NOT GET), world's smallest flan
Mari T.

I had no idea this place existed but I got a recommendation from a friend and decided to give it a shot. 1/5 would not recommend for anything but the chantilly cake. But first let me explain. Positives: free parking in Manoa Marketplace. Clean bathroom. Elevator to 2nd floor=accessible. Chantilly cake was very good: nice and moist and dense and flavor was on point. Now let me start with the cons: bathroom you need to walk around the corner and down the hall (not close). Shrimp pho was just ok: flavor was average, portion was a bit small (lots of soup with not too many noodles). The worst part of this whole experience were the other 2 desserts I got to go for my husband. I am not exaggerating when I say the flan is like something in a doll cafe. I couldn't believe they would dare to charge $5.95 for a flan that was barely 2 bites. It was not even that good; pretty bland and watery. But then I ordered the banana tapioca and it was absolutely horrible. The texture was like it was previously frozen. It was gritty and not creamy at all. It was crumbly. That is not how any tapioca should be. What a waste of $12 plus tax (they also charge a 3% fee for card so bring cash). They also have karaoke but it's pretty expensive. The menu is very large so I might try it 1 more time but I feel like I just got ripped off!

We have been going here for a few years, and it has been a solid staple for Vietnamese food in Manoa. It is located in Manoa Marketplace on the second floor above the pizza place downstairs. There is a parking lot in front and it is quite large. The restaurant itself is a decent size with a lot of space. It feels quite cheerful inside and there are signs for food, drinks, and karaoke. There is a selection of rice, noodle, and other dishes. I usually get the house special fried rice. It is one of my favorites -- super flavorful and a good portion. However, the last time we were there, it took longer than we were told to get our food. We ended up waiting quite a bit. We will be back though because the service is usually fine and the food is consistently good!

i usually order takeout pho from here. i think they have new owners now? for the most part the pho is still my go to. takeout service is good - i havent eaten in here for years so i cant speak to that. i did want to say tho - if you love banh mi - this isnt it. it wasnt terrible but - i wouldnt order it again. it is pretty big for the price you pay but it was missing the pickled daikon and carrots. to me that is the best part of the sandwich. but it was basically less than sprinkled in... it was pretty disappointing... i thought maybe i had the wrong end of the sandwich but the whole sandwich was like that. i will just stick to my pho order.

BBQ Chicken Banh Mi! huge !
Meleana L.

Craving a Banh Mi and this restaurant was the first option that popped up on Yelp. Wish we could've eaten the sandwich fresh but we want to get home before the after school traffic. Ordered 2 bbq chicken Banh mi for take out. Sandwiches were wrapped in foil and were still warm when we got home (15mins away from restaurant). Very flavorful and bbq chicken was tender. Wish i asked for extra pickled veggies and cucumbers bc I love these toppings. The jalapeños in the sandwich creates a great spice as well. The onions however were too strong and threw off the taste. If in Manoa, I would love to dine in next time.

Tofu Lemongrass Banh Mi

We had spent the entire week trying to find a Vietnamese gem of a restaurant and it finally happened. We saw that they had boba on their menu and we were scratching our heads because ain't no way having so many items on their menu would equate to a good meal. We thought there would be a lack in quality but NOOOO! We were so wrong. Every single dish we ordered had us FLOORED. We ordered: -ube latte (BOMB) -vegan spring rolls (BOMB) -tofu banh mi (FRESH BAGUETTE, bomb) -Vietnamese curry with tofu (BOMB I recommend getting with a side of bread) -lemongrass tofu vermicelli (BOMB) We were so caught off guard by the quality of every single dish. This place is going to be our #1 Vietnamese spot moving forward. Definitely no frills and fancy plating but it will surprise you. Parking: FREE Location: 2nd Floor above Aroma Italia. They had huge groups at the restaurant when we went but we still got our food super fast. Service was very attentive and mindful of our dietary restrictions. PLEASE, my friends....treat yourself. They deserve all of the love and support.

Chicken Salad ( Gỏi Gà )
Anita M.

OK, the employees were super nice but I'm really disappointed in my food. I always get the shredded chicken salad at every Vietnamese restaurant I go to and it's always cabbage not iceberg lettuce like I got here, even their menu says it's shredded cabbage. Also the salad dressing is not clear like I'm used to. It's heavier almost like a sweet-and-sour sauce. I did not care for it

So the thing about coming to Fun Station is the "suspended flying noodle thingy" which I didn't go for, but if you like Instagramable stuffs, then I supposed you would probably go for that flying-noodle dish. As for me, I mainly came to try their Minute Chicken Cake Noodles, and as a bonus......... I actually got a 20% discount thanks to my friend - Jennifer C. who let a Bruddah know about da DEALAGES in da Sunday food section newspaper, as they had a coupon! The Sunday morning when I came with my friend, I can clearly see that this restaurant was thriving, as every table in the restaurant was taken. Fun Station specializes in noodles, but if you're not into that, they do serve other items like - soups, vegetable dishes, rice plates, & porridge (jook). Upon looking over the menu, we ordered the following items - 1. Frrrrrrried Chicken Wings ($9.95) for an appetizer 2. Minute Chicken Cake Noodles ($17.95 - minus da 20% coupon DEALAGES) 3. Beef Brisket Tendon & Won Ton in soup ($18.95) What can I say about da grub??? Da chicken wings came out hot & crispy. Although they featured only "flats" vs. drums (I like drums), I must say da wings was nicely executed. As for the Minute Chicken Cake Noodles.........nicely plated on a fancy smanshy panda plate. The cake noodles weren't drowning in gravy, so the noodles stayed crispy on the dish. I really liked how they did this dish, and would easily come back here to eat it again. My friend had the Beef Brisket Tendon & Won Ton soup. The dish looked good, and there weren't any complaints, so I take it that it was pretty ono! Overall, a very satisfying meal and the service here was on point, as the staff was friendly & very efficient. Easy 5 stars for the Minute Chicken Cake Noodles! Chance 'em!

Not only that, but I have to bring my significant other along to share in the deliciousness! I don't know how I'm just now talking about Marugame Udon. When I first came here, my friend and I decided to give it a try because we saw the longest line and wanted to see what all the hype was about. There was a couple in front of us who said they come here every time they visit Hawaiʻi and that it's a must-do stop on every trip. When you walk in, it's a small place. You can watch a team member washing the noodles and portioning them into bowls right in front of you. Then you choose your bowl size, small or large, and select your broth. After that, you get to choose from a variety of fried items and other à la carte options displayed on a warmer. Seating can be limited because of how busy this place gets. You line up to get your food, pay for it, grab your condiments, utensils, and a cup of water, then find a seat and enjoy. I've already been here twice, and after writing about my experience, I need to make a third visit happen very soon! There are not enough days off in a week to enjoy all of the amazing food on this island, but I'm going to do my best to experience as many places as I can. This place is totally worth the 45-minute commute from Wahiawa.

I finally decided why not and came with a friend on new years day lunch time. They were pretty busy already after just 30ish minutes of opening (12pm). Service: We were seated immediately and the service method is pretty simple, you scan the QR code and order through there. My main gripe with this service method is the waitresses aren't as attentive, we couldn't really ask any questions prior to ordering and even after ordering, I had to stand up to the front and wave someone down to pay for our order (as they had a special they had to apply before we paid). We ordered: - Spicy Beef Pancake: 10/10, didn't expect to like this so much as well. Not that spicy to be honest. More like a light spicy flavor. The beef inside was also juicy. - Pan-fried pork bun: 10/10, I was honestly looking forward to this more than the XLB and I was correct to do so. The filling was juicy like a XLB but the dough was also fluffy, doughy, AND has a crispy bottom. Would come back just for this and recommend this 10 times over!! - Sui Mai: 8.8/10; this was like any other good sui mai you may get at different dimsum places. Just pork though, no mushroom or seafood chucks like some other spots. - Steamed Beef with Sticky Rice: 8.1/10. This wasn't bad by any means but just didn't compare to the rest of the items. I didn't like how some parts were super fatty. - Xiao Long Bao: 10/10, the wrapped is thin but thick enough for me to pick up the dumpling without it popping. The soup was flavorful and so was the pork within. They had a special going on which made our XLB be like $5 instead of the $14 it usually is. We were super surprised of how little our bill was give that we were stuffed at the end of the meal and had some leftovers. Even without the discount it would've been a great deal. I heavily recommend, especially the pan-fried pork bun and XLB!!

Seasons also offers the beef soupy noodle sets, but when it's 85+ degrees out and sunny and 80% humidity, I do question ppl's judgement. I've always loved the Plaza, empty and partly abandoned, bec/ the design is conducive to good airflow and cooling, a much underappreciated architectural element in modern downtowns. Mini hot and sour wonton: first time trying and won't be my last. 10/10 Beef pancakes were good, slightly different from Mian and Bao, and delicious. Ice Jelly: good cooling dessert. Not too sweet. Perfect finisher for all the spicy food. Pickled sides: I really loved the spicy back fungus. I'm a huge sucker for woodear mushroom so I was also glad I could order a side of it just to toss into my soup! So good! Everything was really good, and I can't wait to try something new as we make our way through their menu.
