Oh my goodness what a hidden gem. I live in Newport Beach and was visiting a friend in the Los Alamitos area and was searching for healthier options for our lunch. I know Vietnamese restaurants usually offer vegetarian options and found Pho99Plus and their Lemon Grass Tofu sandwich. OMG beyond yum. Starting with the crispy French baked roll (so sorry for those needing to avoid gluten - this is truly perfection in bread) and then the wonderfully textured tofu, and the combination of the "fixings" - cucumber, cilantro, jalapeno, carrots, daikon and some kind of "special" sauce - a truly killer combo of yum. Now I look for ways to come out of my way just for this sandwich. (And I hear patrons there rave about their Tofu & Veggie Pho - my next choice during the brrr SoCal winter months lol.) Oh, and I should definitely mention the manager (owner?) who is so very friendly. Always a nice chat with him. And I have only done takeout but boy does everyone who works there hussle when serving folks. Do yourself a gastronomic favor and partake and support this wonderful business! read more

If you love Pho please give this hidden gem a visit ! The service at this place is impeccable. The people who run it are very kind and helpful. The pho is amazing that goes without saying ! I also highly recommend a Vietnamese iced coffee for a drink as well. The owner and crafts the vegetable broth herself! No preservatives or unhealthy additives 100% natural broth. The combination of noodles, beef, onion and cilantro Works so well with the broth. If you like it spicy the chili oil is the way to go. Sriracha is also a very good option ! We were lucky to find Pho 99Plus! We have been coming here at least once a week since we found this place a year ago. We especially love the garlic beef rolls, the many soups they have, and their sandwiches. Every food dish has a distinct flavor that you can not find anywhere else. It's hard to find a place that serves delicious food in a timely manner and the staff is very friendly. Plus they have just renovated the inside and offer an outside patio. You have to come here for lunch or dinner and I guarantee you will be coming back and wished you knew about it much sooner! read more

Not so sure about this place. When my husband arrived, two people were eating at a table and he waited about five minutes for them to finish eating before they got up to take his order. Wow. He placed his order and another customer came in and place their order. When the orders were ready, the lady came out and said "you're together.....four orders, here's the orders". My husband and the other customer told the lady they weren't together, and she was so confused saying "wait! What's going on!?" And called the other employee in the back for clarification. She then handed a bag to the other customer and he left, then came back and double checked his order to make sure he got the right he one. Next, the employee came from the back to give my husband his order. The bag was leaking and my husband pointed it out and the guy said "oh yeah it's leaking" and handed it to my husband. My husband asked him if he could please give him a clean bag and sealed containers, and he did. My husband checked the order, and it was correct, thankfully, What a chaotic experience. Fabulous high quality food! We love the pho and the vermicelli and humongous spring rolls here. The broth for the pho is nourishing and flavorful, the meat tastes high quality, and I always feel really good after eating here (I listen to my body to tell me about food quality, and this place always passes the test!). Pricier and pho is not as good as some places in Westminster, but super convenient if you're in Los Alamitos. Soup was flavorful and noodles were the right texture. Would go here again if I'm in the neighborhood and craving pho. read more

Definitely a must have! We've known about this place since they opened but haven't tried it...until tonight. It was so good! My husband and I got the brisket Phô and our daughter got the stir fry ramen with chicken/veggies. We also got pork egg rolls, very good. If you craving pho, do not come here; it is one of the worst pho locations I have been to. It may be due to the lack of staff today(?) but the broth was arguably the literal worst I have ever tasted as it was tasteless with a bit of saltiness. It was difficult to finish and my friend took a few bites and could not finish theirs either. I hope that some changes are made as the staff here seemed genuinely nice and I always want to support small business owners. Best of luck but I will never be coming back. read more

Always delicious! We generally get veggie or beef pho, wonton soup, lemongrass tofu Bahn mi, and Thai tea. The owners are very sweet.

I don't understand how this place is 4.5 stars. My husband and I just came here since it was semi close to the airport. This was the worst pho we've ever had. It took them awhile to get us the food. We ordered the small combo pho and large combo pho and spring rolls. When we finally got the pho, it came in To-go bowls? My husband's was hot but mine was super cold like it was left over pho from the night before and they didn't warm it up... We told the lady that mine was ice cold and she went back to microwave it.... So by the time she finished microwaving it, the noodles were super soggy. We tried the soup and it was flavorless and bland. As for the spring rolls, it was okay. We didn't even get water. My husband and I pretty much just ate the meat and left. It was super disappointing and expensive for no reason. The large combo was $16 and the regular was $13. The portion was pretty small. Not worth it. We ordered our food to eat there. Our server was sweet and attentive. Everything we ordered was amazing! The large pho was more than enough to share and still took home a good size bowl. The sandwich was full of flavor and the veggies were fresh. We also ordered the garlic beef rolls and we were pleasantly surprised. When we ordered them we thought we were getting egg rolls but they were spring rolls. We got so excited when we were ordering that we didn't pay attention. Awesome little Mom n Pop shop that can easily be overlooked since it's in between McDonald's and a steak house. The customer service here is outstanding and they have outdoor seating that is spaced out if you still wanted to dine somewhere during COVID. I'd recommend trying the Vietnamese Coffee. Good amount of flavor and a great way to start any meal. For me I tried the Garlic beef rolls and whatever butter, garlic au jui they bring out is AMAZING. Almost threw it into my pho... lol. I went with the Beef pho and I was really impressed with the quality of the broth when they brought it out. Not too salty, but cuts the meat pretty well for a tasty overall flavor. The older woman who makes the broth is so kindhearted. She lets you know the secret to her pho and how hard she worked in hopes that you enjoyed it. That touched my heart a lot because although it's still a small place, she invested so much love and effort into what her passion is. Food 9.5/10 She wasn't wrong. Her broth is insanely good. I don't what happened to this place. New management, loss of help or what. Pretty much all self serve if you plan on eating in. Used to be presented menus upon seating. Had to go up to the register to even be acknowledged. Food now comes in paper "to-go" bowls...?? No spoons. Had to ask. Or else you can eat with your hands. No sauce dishes. COVID19: Open 11:30-7:30 (I think Tuesday-Sunday) This is a nice little mom & pop Pho place in a small strip center. Currently, parking is not an issue. But, I've heard it gets tight when business is usual. Couple of tables for 2 outside. Counter seating with bar stools for maybe 6-8. Booth seating is separated for COVID19 and seats maybe up to 8. No restroom that I saw. No alcoholic beverages served. No MSG. Now that's out of the way...the owner is very friendly. I told her how much my wife eats and later told her to look at my wife's bowl of pho compared to mine. My wife's was licked clean while mine was half full. She quickly defended my wife and said, "people eat fast are skinny...people eat slow are...fat" we burst into laughter. She is very proud of the broth in her pho. And it is tasty. Nice flavor, soothing and balanced. FULL of meat and noodles. The wings were delicious and can be had in varying spicynesses (is that a word). The rolls were crisp and fresh and again my wife downed those taking more than her share...lol! So while I may not be very colorful in describing the food...just know by my wife's enjoyment that this little local pho place is great for a quick bowl of pho and various other Vietnamese dishes.
