I'm pretty sure this is my new favorite diner. Before finding Phoebe's we would always go to 24 Diner downtown, but the food here is much better. I had eggs and brisket with Hollandaise sauce and it was awesome. I've been here a few other times for lunch and the sandwiches are excellent too. This place is great for a cheat day. My friend and I ordered several items from the menu and everything was on point. The portions were larger than I expected so we had to put in some serious work to finish everything. Great service and coffee as well. We went for lunch. I had the salad which was okay. Others in our party had the migas, shrimp and grits and the beet hash. The comment on the beet hash was that the beets didn't have any flavor. Highly disappointed in everything there. Was told we had a 20 min wait which turned into 45 mins. Service was interesting. We sat down and ordered. Then a large table with 8 people sat down and another table of two were seated right by us. Both tables received their food and finished before we even got our food and we ordered at least 10 mins before either of them. Food was very sloppy. Dry brisket on the 04 plate. And the chicken with goat cheese grits were just disgusting. Chicken was very under cooked and batter was oily. With the line as long as it was, I expected an amazing experience. Last time I went here the wait was not too bad, 20-25 minutes. I was disappointed they did not have coffee service for people waiting on tables this time. It was a nice bonus that made the wait tolerable. We finally got a table right by door. It was a very cold wet day and the hostess kept opening the door to check on people. It seemed excessive and kept letting in bursts of cold air. We made our orders and waited 45 minutes for our food. The manager did come out and apologize which was really appreciated, but unfortunately the food was sub par. Ive been there on two other occassions and the food was amazing. On this occassion I reordered one of the dishes Id had before, the shrimp and grits. It was not very hot and the grits were not rich and creamy like both times before. They were watery and lacked flavor. Also my bacon came out under done and rubbery. After waiting so long for our food we decided not to make a fuss but it was disappointing. The manager did come by and check on us again and even offered a free dessert which I thought was really nice and appropriate. Unfortunately they dessert we tried, the apple crumble, was not very good. It tasted gummy and was bitter. Tasted like something was missing from the recipe. Was not very sweet and I dont particularly like overly sweet desserts, but this needed something. Really liked this place the first two times we went. Not sure what happened. read more

The food was delicious (chorizo sope and badass bacon breakfast), and my fiance really liked their coffee, but the 4 stars is because of the location and it's parking. It's not very appealing from the outside since it is connected to a gas station, but I understand that there isn't too much you can do about that. The pancakes and shrimp w/ grits were really filling and hit the greasy brunch sweet spot. The place is clean, colorful, and had character. They are organized, cozy, and inviting. It wasn't loud or too crowded (about 1/2full) when we were there. Lots of booths and same number of tables in the back. Awesome breakfast bar with mixed drinks and specials. Went here this last weekend. Ordered the eggs benedict and the menu says it comes on buttermilk biscuits but mine was on some weird bread. Ham not cooked very well either, and pretty flavorless. Great food and great service! A definite must try!!! My boyfriend and I are in town for MotoGP and found this gem on Yelp. I ordered the steak and egg special, which I never order, especially at a diner. The rib-eye was very fresh and made exactly to order and they accommodated for my food allergy without fuss. My boyfriend had the Badass bacon and eggs and it was delicious...legit slab of bacon! The portions are very generous too. Best part...happy hour starts at 10:00 am!!!
