I ordered the Ribeye and Fries, totally forgetting that the meat here is sliced rather than cubed. I've had it before, and if I'd remembered, I probably would've chosen something else this time. The marinade is pretty good, but the slices are so thin it's hard to tell it's ribeye--you miss out on that rich, fatty flavor and texture. On the plus side, they made the fries extra crispy just like I asked, so they didn't get soggy right away, which I really appreciated. I might try the filet mignon next time instead. read more

I wouldn't call this area of town a mecca of Vietnamese cuisine, but it is easy to consider with the incredible number of South Asian dining destinations within such a small area. That said, Pholuscious is very appropriately placed to accommodate those seeking a Vietnamese inspired meal . . . and one filled with an abundance in relation to portions with an emphasis on great quality and taste. One look at the Yelp page and you will be overwhelmed with many options in the types of offerings and all rooted in the traditional menu options that you would find in most all Vietnamese dining destinations. On this occasion, I was joined by a friend who is a relative expert in this type of cuisine. We each ordered the Beef Rib Pho and shared a plate of Spring Rolls and House Special Wings. I'll start with the Pho. This entrée was served in a hot clay pot and was filled with the traditional ingredients and large rib bones as the pictures show. A side plate of bean sprouts, jalapenos, basil and limes were included and were all very fresh with only the best selections making it on the platter. The Pho itself was presented with a very clean broth that had the traditional flavors. The broth was very good and really came together with the additions of the plate of vegetables and a few drops o Sriracha and Oyster sauce. The time for the beef ribs to join in the broth party made a huge impact on enriching the flavor of the broth. This is an excellent meal with very good flavor. The lunch was started with the Spring Rolls that were filled in traditional form and we chose the pork option. The portions were very substantial and the dipping sauce was very good with a rich body and flavor to accentuate those rolls. Excellent as well. The third item on the table included the House Special Wings. This, too, was very well prepared and plentiful. Of the dishes we tried, this was not for me. It was on the sweet side of things and while crispy and well prepared, my preference would be one of the other options. Our server suggested the garlic butter wings which I will order on my next visit. Overall, Pholuscious was a great find for me and an excellent location for those looking for a high quality Vietnamese dining destination. Our server, Krystal, was very good and was accommodating with questions and any other assistance we needed. One thing that I encourage you to do is to please read the description of the items you order thoroughly. The title of each item and the pictures cannot be your guide. You will learn of the ingredients or be prompted to ask follow-up questions by reading the descriptions. Your server will fill in the details to your questions to ensure you order the right item. We had a good experience here! Staff were welcoming and very kind. I never felt like we were in need of anything. The restaurant is a good space, CLEAN, and nicely decorated. Restroom is clean (women's at least)! I ordered the ox tail pho, teen ordered the brisket pho, Hubs ordered the rare brisket beef. I also ordered the Thai tea. We got the garlic butter chicken wings too. A huge super plus is that kids eat free so my toddler had a kid sized pho and loved every bit. She finished two bowls! Food was flavorful! The presentation was beautiful! The pho and the wings! The only improvement I'd suggest is add more noodles. I felt like I ate very little and my noodles were gone. I just noticed that the receipt says if you pay in cash, you get 5% off. We paid in cash (not knowing about that "perk"), but staff did not take that 5% off. Pholuscious is another one of those pho joints that are as solid as they come. This spot is located in a plaza with a good amount of parking spots. Inside, they have a modern and very spacious setup with about 10-12 tables for seating. Wifey and I pulled up for a late night meal around 10pm and were seated right away. For their menu, they have a solid selection of different appetizers, pho, vermicelli, and rice dishes to choose from. We opted to try the Beef Spring Rolls and the Pho Combination Bowl. Everything that we had was delicious and comforting to the soul! Overall, this spot definitely satisfies the pho cravings. All of the staff are very friendly and attentive. Had this delivered so can't speak on location or service - I loved their to-go container for pho, double stacked and the broth was so good I didn't add any other sauce. I'll be honest...I walked in with pretty low expectations since they're open until midnight. Usually that can be hit or miss. The space itself looked newer, bigger, and super clean... but let's be real, that's not what makes or breaks a good bowl of pho. When we ordered, the pho took a little longer than expected to come out, and I was really hoping the wait would be worth it. And wow- first sip, I was immediately impressed. The broth was rich and deeply flavorful, the meat was perfectly tender, and they absolutely did not miss on the herbs. A lot of places only offer Thai basil, but they also had culantro and rice paddy herb, which made such a difference. Bonus points: the pho came out piping hot, exactly how it should be. I was absolutely stunned by the unprofessional and downright heartless behavior of the so-called manager, Lam. We ordered chicken fried rice. My children cannot eat peas, they've choked before, had reflux, gagged, and even thrown up. So we tried our best to pick them out of the dish, but there were just too many. I politely told the waitress, even apologizing that I didn't realize how many peas there were. She was kind and immediately said, "No problem, we'll make another one for you." I thanked her and appreciated her understanding -- for about ten minutes until this ahole guy Lam showed up. He coldly brought the same exact dish back, peas and all, and told me he wouldn't make a new one unless I paid for another. I was shocked -- the waitress had already agreed, and yet he still refused. I told him that if my kids threw up, we'd have a real problem on our hands. He didn't care at all. He showed zero concern for my children's health and completely dismissed us. So we ended up picking all the peas, and carrots as well, ourselves and there were so many. The lack of empathy, the disrespect, and the total disregard for basic customer service, especially when children's well-being is involved, was appalling. And this guy Lam was such a terrible person, let alone a manager at this restaurant? Honestly, he doesn't belong anywhere near the hospitality industry. If I were the owner, I would fire him on the spot and promote the waitress instead. I would not return to this place again! And I will share my experience with everyone I know. read more

After going to pho labs and seeing this place nearby I finally decided to give this place a try. We ordered a Rare beef and tendon Pho, Rib bone Pho, and Lomo saltado. First the rare beef and tendon pho was pretty good. It's kept hot in the stone pot, though I don't really think it makes a difference since when eating pho in a regular bowl I don't feel like my pho ever gets cold. The tendon was super tender and good and they give a lot of toppings (bean sprouts, basil, lime etc). I like how they gave multiple lime slices and they weren't dried up. The rib bone however is not comparable to Pho Labs next door. The meat on the bone had the connecting tissue or skin on it which made it a hassle to eat. They gave scissors but that didn't really help much. The meat would have been otherwise super tender but with the other stuff attached made it not very enjoyable to eat. The lomo saltado was average. The fries come covered in sauce and are kinda wet. The potato inside doesn't really feel cooked all the way. The smaller pieces of meat were tender but the slightly bigger pieces were tough. The flavor was good though and the onion and bell peppers were done well. The service is okay. The servers were quiet and couldn't really hear what they were trying to say. The atmosphere is greater for larger parties and feels nice. Overall if i was coming here to eat pho, i rather just go next door to pho labs. The portions over there feel bigger as well. Not sure about the other foods, but was disappointed. read more

If you want a great place to eat pho and want to get food late at night cause everything closes earlier, this place is the place! Coming in, is a place with an open concept. They have booths for you to sit in or tables if you have a big party. You are always greeted by people, especially Nancy. She's always there to greet you. The menu has a bunch of different items but this place is known for their pho. Pho- The broth here is so clean compared to other places. I love how it's not MSG tasting and it taste like beef. I appreciate how they have the option to make your own pho too. I like the pho rib bone and build your own! Fall off the bone lickin good! Pad Thai- for a place that has Viet food, they have Thai food too. Their Pad Thai is pretty good and the meat just soak in those flavors. Can't go wrong with this too. We heard about this place and realized it was down the street from my kids' Abuela's house, so we decided to take her out for a treat... and a treat it was. As soon as we walked in, one of the owners greeted us at the entrance. Always a good sign when the owners work the floor, it means they care. After we were seated, we ordered drinks (4 peach teas and 1 mango tea) and appetizers (fried calamari, egg rolls, and grilled beef spring rolls). We were checked in on by the other owner shortly after. Husband and wife combo + family business = a recipe for quality. For entrees, we tried: * Tofu fried rice (crunchy and delicious) * A build-your-own pho bowl with triple fatty brisket (tons of meat!) * Pho ga with a side of bo vien (my 10-year-old was in heaven) * Brisket pho for Abuela (rich broth, brisket was tender) * Beef and egg roll noodle salad for me (fresh, flavorful, great balance of textures) Everything was exceptional in taste, portions, and value. The staff was attentive and even advised us on the best way to place our pho orders for cost efficiency, which I genuinely appreciated. I wish I would've gotten some pictures, but as soon as the food was placed, my family started eating. I have nothing bad to say and only great things to share about this location. The decor is warm and inviting, and it was nice seeing so many different nationalities eating here. Despite being spoiled for choices regarding Pho in this area (Westminster is literally down the street), it is surprisingly more difficult to find a proper vegan pho option listed on menus. Many Vietnamese restaurants will list a "Veggie Pho" but will still use beef or chicken broth. I was with a large group, so we weren't looking for a 100% Vegetarian/vegan restaurant either. Pholuscious is speaking to its people when it has a clearly labeled "Vegan Pho" option on the menu. So my group of 13 drove here for lunch. The restaurant looks to be pretty new - it's spacious, modern, and clean. They have all the typical pho offerings, plus a few rice dishes and even a few Thai/Asian-fusion dishes. They accommodated our large group with ease. Everyone in my group enjoyed their pho, served in large piping clay bowls. Literally I live down the street and always go to the Walmart I would always pass the Pholuscious and would always want to try it. We usually go to our pho spots in Westminster but have this place a try. Upon entering the restaurant we get greeted with "hello welcome!" That's so rare for Vietnamese restaurants lol but atmosphere was clean all the waiters were young and adorable. This was my first visit couple weeks ago.
