Still my favorite Vietnamese Egg Roll place, but when I was there at 4 p.m. yesterday, they hardly had any side dishes for sale. Not realizing they close at 5 p.m. .... but why? Don't people buy egg rolls for dinner? No salads, nothing to go with the egg rolls for our dinner, so I bought one pkg of the spring rolls. First time I bought them here and knowing I'm not normally a fan, they were worse than I remember. They smelled like they were spoiled.... MAYBE you should keep them elsewhere, especially when it's such a hot day. Even the lettuce was warm. Tossed them for fear of getting sick. Also, the young guy you had working here wasn't very friendly. I appreciate that he speaks English and we were almost nearing the end of his shift, but it would be nice if he was a bit more pleasant and attentive to customers, instead of playing with his phone. NOTE: I've been coming here for years, and recommend you to all my friends, but I was literally planning on trying the egg rolls next door this time, but didn't realize they are closed on Tuesdays. We had a bbq at the office for the 4th July celebration, the day before the actual holiday. I ordered some egg rolls from Phuc Loc Food To Go. Told them I'd pick them up at 11:00 am. Came at 11:15 and they didn't have them ready. The guy at the front asked if I wanted to wait while they're frying them. No, I didn't have time to wait, that's why I called ahead. Like the name says, this is a To Go place, there's no seating or table service. You walk up to the counter and order what you want. All the food is made fresh daily. They're known for their eggrolls and they make them throughout the day. You can get the eggrolls fried and ready to eat, or you can buy them frozen to fry at home. Pricing seemed to be the same. My favorite egg roll place since forever. Whether I order ahead or order when I'm there, regardless of the quantity, anywhere from 10-100, they will have it ready and ready fresh for me fast. They don't even bat an eye if you ask for a large quantity to be picked up 'now' I can't say that about any other place, their service is spot on and the egg rolls are always fresh and hot. The filling is balanced most of the times, once in a while they will be too salty, and the ratio of the filling is always good regardless if it's a holiday or not. Very consistent. Honestly the most no frills food to go and platter location and I like it. We wanted 50 eggrolls to a party we were going to. Called a few days ahead and no issues $40 for 50 eggrolls pick up on Thanksgiving at 1:30pm. Arrived at 1:45pm, 3 ppl ahead of me and you tell when why you're there when asked, and eggroll secured and I was in the car in 5mins. Don't try to call to confirm on a holiday or a weekend, they won't pick up. Looks like they have other platter items and currently is the most reasonable priced place I can see in the whole town. Best egg roll place to get for work potlucks... especially as a RN and having early shifts they open so early and I can just pick up the egg rolls before my shift and they are so fresh and stay crispy! The prices here are also great and they sell sweet chili sauce in case you forgot to buy one beforehand for the potluck. I will definitely be coming back. I stopped by here on my new food journey adventure to seek out really good egg rolls in the Little Saigon area. Luckily, my hair stylist is Vietnamese so she is really eager to point me to the good places to check out and which ones to avoid. Phuc Loc is one of her family's favorites for both egg rolls and rice porridge ("jook" in my Cantonese Culture). I was not in the mood for jook the Friday morning I stopped by. I just focused on the remaining egg rolls that were still available when I was there (11:30 AM). I asked to take the remaining rolls for sale. Another deep fried item caught my eye which looked similar to a Dim Sum Item I really like: its a deep fried bean curd skin filled with a meat filling similar or the same as a Siu Mai dumpling. I've had a Vietnamese item almost identical in nature from the Dim Sum Co (8900 Westminster Blvd Westminster, CA) that they call "Bean Curd Roll". I asked what type of filling these deep fried golden mini-footballs contained as was told a meat filling. Okay, I'll take the last three also. Even though this business will take cards for payments,I susoect they prefer cash. I was advisedthat taxes would be added to my card payment which I was good with. Upon arriving home, I presented the egg rolls and "footballs". I cut open the football because my Non-Asian wife is not fond of Jian Diu's (Cantonese Deep Fried Seame Balls w/Bean Paste Filling). When I cut into Phuc Loc's "footballs", I immediately saw that the wrapper was made from glutinous rice flour (like Jian Diu) containing a meat filling. I tried one but not sure if these need to be eaten fresh out of the fryer or not. I found this fried item to be really oily from the fryer. Growing up, I was always reminded by elders to pat down, squish between paper towel sheets, any Jian Diu, to remove all the frying oil in the dough. Despite the heavy oiliness, the meat filling was really tasty. My family really liked these egg rollls. Crunchy, not greasy, fill with a very finely mince meat and vegetable filling. I can envision these becoming regular family snacks as well as Family Holiday Party Trays. read more

Phuc Loc is a mom-and-pop business located within a busy Plaza between Magnolia and Westminster. They are known for their Chao Long and Eggrolls. I ordered: Large Chao Long (pork rice porridge) $9 Eggrolls (12pcs) $10 Pork Banh Bao $3 Fried Shallots $10 A must try. Chao Long is so full of flavor. It has a lot of meat (pork, blood sausage, tripe), scallions and onions. A little bit on the salty side but doable. I incorporated fried shallot in my porridge. Yummm...the Egg roll also tasted awesome. Banh Bao wasn't bad either. The servings of each meal was just right. I highly recommend this place. PS: parking is horrendous. read more

This shop is located in the same plaza as Teo Sandwiches, Ngu Binh Restaurant, next to Quynh Huong Food To Go. On weekdays and non-busy hours parking here is plenty; however, weekends can sometimes be packed so just be patient. Phuc Loc specialized in eggrolls, pre-made frozen eggrolls, different types of Vietnamese soups, Vietnamese food, congees, and a variation of party tray items. I have tried their congee, eggrolls, and grilled pork meatballs and all have been pretty decent. Hours of Operations - They are CLOSED on MONDAY and sometimes even holidays so please call them and check. Just an FYI, I have tried to placed eggroll orders on a holiday that happens to be on a Sunday, and they did mention that they will be closed. The experience was very bizarre as the employee behind the counter looked at me with shifty eyes and seemed very nervous...
