They have both indoor and outdoor seating, and it's actually pretty spacious inside. We did have to wait a little bit to get a menu, but once we got one, we ordered our drinks and food. We got the Margherita pizza, and it was SO good! I loved how crispy the crust was. When you picked up a slice, it didn't just flop over. It stayed nice and crispy. It had so much flavor, and I was seriously so happy with it. I also got the Help Wanted drink, and it was really good too. I think I found my new favorite pizza spot! If you're ever in the area, I definitely recommend stopping by. I'm already planning to go back so I can try more of their pizzas and appetizers!

The quality of the food, and the care that used to go into preparing and presenting it, has completely fallen off a cliff. During my most recent visit this week I noticed that much of the kitchen staff seemed to be different from the team I've seen over the past few years. The pizza was genuinely disappointing. The crust lacked flavor, the toppings were sparse and it felt like something that had been rushed out of the kitchen with little attention to detail. Even the presentation was careless, which was surprising because this restaurant used to take pride in what they served. It's frustrating to see a place that I used to recommend decline this much. I really hope the upper management takes a look at what's happening to the restaurant because the Old Town Tap I used to enjoy no longer seems to exist.

For dessert, we had a chocolate masterpiece. The meal was well priced considering the location and the time of year. And while the meal was special, it was the service that really made the experience special. While being utterly professional, the staff is also friendly and on top of it. I regret I didn't ask the hostess her name, but she was excellent - filled our water glasses without being asked once, and asked if we would like clean utensils after our appetizers. That was my absolute favorite drink between that and the Matcha. I ordered the strawberry Matcha Americano and I think there might have been some confusion because I did order it iced but then said Americano so the bartender thought I wanted it hot. I told him not to worry about a remake and to just pour it over some ice because I don't like to waste. They say that they use a ceremonial Matcha. Being a matcha enthusiast, the color really wasn't there nor was the umami, but that's OK because what surprised me is that they actually make it in a bowl and whisk! While I wouldn't return for the Matcha, I would absolutely be back for coffee that has a house made syrup. We got it with oat milk and it was just divine. I found myself reaching for that drink more than my Matcha. Inside is very clean with plenty of seating and I love the live music aspect right when you walk in.

We were hungry but the kitchen wasn't open yet, and we had to get back to Truckee for plans we already made. If we had no other places to be, we would have lingered around longer and possibly had another drink, but definitely tried the bbq next door as the bartender said it's good and we could smell the wood and meat cooking. The staff is friendly and helpful and very efficient. The cocktail menu has something for everyone whether you enjoy a creative craft cocktail or a refreshing glass of wine. There is also a small bites menu that looked good, but I did not try it during this visit. Definitely worth the visit and I cannot wait to go back!

Pianeta, Pianeta--what a gem! We chose this elegant restaurant to celebrate my daughter's 14th birthday, and it did not disappoint. From the moment we stepped inside, we were enveloped in a classy and sophisticated atmosphere, accentuated by a stylish and seductive interior design. The bar area boasted a vibrant ambience that was both inviting and lively. To kick off our dining experience, we ordered a smoked old-fashioned and a spicy margarita. Each sip was a delightful exploration of flavor, setting the stage for the exquisite culinary journey ahead. We then indulged in the Bruschetta Two Ways, featuring a delectable pairing of cannellini beans with roasted peppers and applewood bacon alongside roasted garlic, gorgonzola cheese, and fresh green onions. It was a perfect harmony of tastes! We also savored the Winter Caprese, a beautiful assembly of fresh mozzarella, grilled eggplant, roasted sweet red peppers, dry cured olives, all drizzled with aromatic pesto and a luscious balsamic reduction. Both appetizers were simply delightful! For our main course, my daughter opted for the Ravioli Bolognese, which featured house-made ricotta and parmesan cheese ravioli nestled in a rich, classic beef, veal, and tomato ragu, topped with vibrant spinach and melted mozzarella and parmesan. We stopped in Truckee, roaming the street to find a place for dinner. We stumbled upon the entrance not thinking much because it was such a skinny building. When we looked in the door the split level entrance instantly warmed our hearts as we saw the bartender jovially grinding pepper on the diners entrees. There were two outdoor tables on the sidewalk. We looked at the menu and Pasta di Olio looked delicious. Nicole the hostess and owner, greeted us and we asked if she had a table for 3. She indicated she did have a cancelation and whisked us down the stairs to a wonderful cubby table. We let her know we were just married and that we appreciated her hospitality. She guaranteed a meal of LOVE! It was just that! Oh my the best Nevada County restaurant in our book! We decided then and there this will definitely be our anniversary dinner rendezvous from here on out. The fresh homemade pasta is out of this world. Pasta di Olio and the Ravioli di Della (?) were clean, fresh and full of flavor. Not too oily a big issue in our book. Portions are just right! Fresh bread. Coffee, latte and the best ever limon infused vanilla custard with drizzle of blackberry which we shared three ways was the perfect topper. I have been dining at Piaget's since 2006 when I first moved to Truckee. I moved from San Francisco Bay Area and missed some of the incredible restaurants that San Francisco offered. Great food, great service and the welcoming staff and mindful service and presentation of the food. Being a male and dining with my boyfriend and other friends from San Francisco and LA has ALWAYS been an incredible experience. I used to work at Tahoe Mountain Loding at Northstar and when guests wanted something other than Ritz Carlton and to dine locally we always recommended Pianeta. NO ONE was ever treated anything but SPECIAL and WELCOME.. the staff and management and owners have always personally cared about making the experience incredible. Made reservations. Went in early to have a cocktail. No place to sit. Went down the street to a wine bar and had a very nice glass of wine. Went back to get our table and was sat. No one came by for 15 minutes, after 10 minutes I was counting. When the server finally came by I told her I was not happy that no one came by. She ask if we wanted to stay. No apology or anything. Guess if was a long weekend. I am not going to spend money at a place with a crappy attitude or bad service. I'm sure it maybe a decent restaurant but I can go plenty of place that actually appreciate the people that pay their salary. Management needs to be aware of below average, bad attitude employees that cost them money not make them money. read more

I have eaten here several times as I am a local, but never again. To be perfectly honest, the food is maybe a B- for Truckee meaning a C- for a large city. It is heavy, without imagination or any semblance of finesse and way overpriced. Wine list is full of off year vintages of uninspiring wines and priced 3 times retail. I advise taking your own wine and an antacid if you insist on eating there. The final straw for me was to see the owners wife be completely rude to some people politely asking for a table. I walked out in total disbelief. Who needs to support such behavior. There are much better restaurants all around this place. read more

I have heard nothing but great things about this restaurant so my husband and I decided to check it out over the weekend knowing we could not get a table since we had already called we just wanted to stop in and see the ambience. The host was beyond rude and frankly turned us off from the restaurant as a whole. Due to her poor attitude and lack of customer service I will not be returning. Fantastic ambiance and great service are a perfect match for their delicious fresh Italian dishes. Wait staff is attentive but not annoying, and the food is served with perfect timing. It is worth the trip up Mt. Rose for a date night. It is located at the end of a strip mall shopping center with discrete signage and a funky Jameson "open" sign. The seating arrangement is unique and varied with wooden benches, hearth height tables, and bistro cafe tables. Surprisingly, the bistro table with offbeat folding chairs was surprisingly comfortable for my husband and I through 4-courses. Service was warm and welcoming. Like actually welcoming. Like we were sitting in their living room as an invited guest. The drink menu was presented in an oversized, laminated booklet whereas the food menu was printed out from the POS at the timestamp for when we sat--carbon copies with white and yellow paper. The whole experience so far felt like we had stumbled into a secret speakeasy. The cocktail list was very unique. I took a chance and ordered Abu Hassan Does The Amalfi which had Arak (anise taste) cut with gin to bring down the strength which mixed well with the mint and lemon. I do not usually like anise and didn't know what Arak was, so when I smelled it I figured I would be trading drinks with my husband. Opposite actually--it was a delicious cocktail and ended up ordering a second during the meal. The husband ordered Hugo Verde which was a thick cocktail, almost like a juice. He ordered Double L Negrini next, and it was amazing!! I had a sip and wished I had ordered it myself! A harmonious mix between a Negroni and martini. I would recommend starting with this cocktail if you are unsure. On to the food, we placed our order for four dishes at the top, and each on was delicious and timed out perfectly to allow us to appreciate each dish and enjoy our conversation. Each dish was perfect for my husband and I to share. Started with Pan Tomat which was grilled bread with a spicy tomato spread. Then, the Grilled Chorizo with Amora (French mustard) was served in a mini cast iron skillet. I'm not a fan of mustard, but the mini chorizo links paired perfectly with the French-style mustard. We then enjoyed our veggies with Britt's Panzanella. This salad was bright, fresh and had the most delicious tomatoes! Finally, we ended with Ribeye Cap from the Josper which was perfectly cooked--pink inside and charred on the outside. The meat was served already cut which was perfect for sharing and did not require a knife. As we completed each dish I told my husband that it was my favorite. Literally every dish was amazing. I would not have changed a single thing, but at the same time I am eager to taste the dishes that I didn't not get to try. I am looking forward to an excuse to do another date night up in Incline as soon as possible.

The servers were kind and attentive, if a bit shy, but the real standout was the man behind the bar and, I assume, the menu. He was incredibly friendly, took the time to visit each table, and genuinely seemed excited to hear how everyone was enjoying their food and drinks. You can tell he has a real passion for what he does, and that energy adds so much to the experience. I'm blanking on the name of the cocktail I ordered, but it was a mix of a martini and a Negroni, which sounded unusual at first and ended up being absolutely delicious. On the food side, everything we ordered was bang on. The bread with rich tomato sauce was comforting and full of flavor, the chorizo sausages were spicy and savory, the endive salad was bright and acidic, and the milanesa was incredibly tender with a deep earthy flavor and paired with an arugula salad to balance things out. Definitely a place I'll be going back to again and again any time I'm in the area and a strong recommendation for the cocktails, the food, the ambience, but especially the people!

The restaurant, mostly outside, is also right up on a huge grass space, perfect and popular with kids. This is definitely a family friendly spot - we ate early, around 545 on a Friday and it was either families with younger kids or golfers. And the food is really good and for Truckee, reasonable. The poke bowl was HUGE and while not a huge amount of tuna, it was beyond filling with the rice, edamame, seaweed salad and so on. The calamari was a small portion but delicious. Someone had the burger with bacon jam... WOW. Decadent and delicious. The cocktails are good, although not super boozy forward. Service was fine. Again, ambiance and family friendly environment is top notch. The food is really good and prices on par with restaurants in town. My kids playing soccer while we wait for the food while my husband and I enjoy a cocktail surrounded by trees with mountain peaks in the distance = five stars.
