Came to Piatti for my daughter's birthday dinner. The atmosphere is nice, bright and lively. The service is great and very attentive. The food is just ok, nothing to really rave about. We ordered the pesto deviled eggs and fried calamari to start. The eggs were ok but the egg itself tasted overcooked. The fried calamari had a good flavorful batter. For my main entree, I had the Spinach Ricotta Ravioli and added shrimp as protein. The raviolis were good but seemed like a small portion compared to the other dishes. Maybe because it was presented in a flat plain plate compared to the my daughters dish. My wife did tell them about my daughter's birthday, but no one came to sing to her unfortunately. Overall I would give this restaurant a 3.5 stars. Giving 4 stars mainly for the service and ambiance. read more

This restaurant has been consistent for years. Good food (last visit food was a little salty and bland, but overall, typically, it's delicious). The atmosphere is nice and servers are great. Drinks are good too, I didn't like the Guava Cider though. If you haven't tried it, l'd make a reservation. You won't regret it. read more

Service, foods, and atmosphere- 4 stars Need a proof of COVID test before entry. Seatings are close to each other, but everyone inside has been clear for entry Starting off with the bread and special dipping sauce. Bread is warm and the sauce is addicting. A taste of oil, vinegar, garlic, and minced green onion, light and palate pleasing. The cosmo is delicious, not too much alcohol, but its ok, only lunch time. The pizza is very delicious and the toppings are interesting and complimented each other. The picchietto brought out the smoky favors and the crunch of nuts and pears added extra sweets to the pizza. Love the combination. Nothing can go wrong with the beep carpaccio and the arugula is very fresh with a light touch of oil and salt. read more

Returned for my Bday a few days ago and our server was much better this time ! My Chicken Sandwich was wonderful loved the red pepper aioli, for dessert the Tiramisu was so yummy!! I'm so happy a few items are back on the menu also such as Mary's Chicken! Sidenote- I would love to see mashed potatoes as an option on the menu instead of the white bean side dish. Fiancé and I decided to have a late anniversary dinner since we were in the area. Upon arriving, I notified the host that we didn't have a reservation. There were seats open in the patio area and we definitely didn't mind since it was so nice outside but I think that was my first mistake. Our server did not even know we were there... there was another table that was seated after us and their server came. It was when I really had to go to the restroom and informed the host that our server probably forgot about us. Not sure what the situation was there but eventually, our server did come and took our order. Let me say that the food was delicious!! We had the calamari, arugula salad (sub goat cheese with shaved parmesan), salsicce, and the pork sugo pappardelle. The reason for the 3/5 stars is because of service. It was understandable that maybe our server forgot our table in the beginning but it continued throughout our entire dinner. Server was friendly but I don't know if he was absorbed inside the restaurant or what but there were 2-3 tables beside ours and he went to their tables at least 2-3x before ever stopping by ours. It was almost like he didn't want to look at our table... it was so obvious we were being ignored I'm pretty disappointed. The closest table to us was probably 5 feet away and I raised my hand multiple times but he didn't even look towards our table. We wanted to leave but couldn't even do so because asking for the check took us a good 15-20 minutes and we had to go to the host lol It's hard when you want to rate the restaurant 5/5 because the food was delicious, but service was lacking. I mean cmon we went to the host twice but only having to wait 15-20 minutes... I think that's more than enough time. Yeah again disappointing *big sigh* read more

Piatti has been a family favorite restaurant for birthday celebrations! I always appreciate the personalized birthday menus. I recently celebrated my birthday at Piatti's with my family and we enjoyed a wonderful dinner. The service was attentive and the food was good. Bread with Dipping Oil-this used to be complimentary but I'm happy to pay $3 for their bread. Piatti's dipping oil is addictive. So good! Chopped Salad-refreshing salad with a good mix of ingredients. I enjoyed the feta, hearts of palm, olives and garbanzo beans all tossed in a light vinaigrette. I asked for light dressing and it was perfect! Rigatoni Bolognese-great dish with plenty of meaty sauce! Chitarra Pasta with Sautéed Prawns-this was my favorite tasting pasta and sauce. The noodles were still firm and the sauce was light and full of seafood flavor. Unfortunately, the prawns were all overcooked!! Gemelli Pasta with Braised Lamb-this was a very hearty dish was a strong meaty flavor. My oldest loved it and wanted it all to himself. Lasagna-very well done and what a generous portion! We ordered a few desserts and I was treated to a birthday tiramisu. The flourless chocolate torte was decadent and really good with the berry sauce. Delicious dinner and we'll be back! read more

I've been to my fair share of Italian eateries. I've been to Italy. This place is LEGIT! Don't skip out. We came for my birthday- btw they write your name on the menu to make you feel extra special. You totally do btw! The food- get the olive oil/garlic mix for the bread. Your life is not complete till you do. The bread is baked on site - it's warm and just makes you feel like your loved. The lasagna is some of the best I have EVER had. Like ever. I'm drooling just thinking about it. Not one dish disappointed. Not one! The staff is attentive and kind. The scenery is beautiful and a wonderful place to go for outdoor eating. We came here to celebrate my sisters birthday. We loved how they incorporated a custom menu wishing her a happy birthday. It was very special! We reserved two tables for 11 people to arrive however, a few guests were unable to make it. We asked the hostess if we could combine the tables so we wouldn't be isolated from the rest of our guests but she seemed unpleasant with the request. The waiter was kind of enough to have us all fit into one table and allow us to do this. The food was alright, it wasn't anything phenomenal as I was surprised being that the prices are high and I expected more. Fancier place, great food, prompt service, expensive, nice location. I came here to celebrate a birthday and was happy with the overall experience. They were surprisingly busy for a Wednesday night but had no issues seating our reserved party of 16. Also had custom birthday wishes printed on our set of menus! I went with the Gemelli Pasta Sausage & Pancetta, which was fantastic. Well prepared and a great balance between the basil and cheeses. It wasn't your average pasta. Serving size was more than enough as well. I should say though that the people with me weren't too enamored by the mushroom pizza dish. At the end of our meal, our server was kind enough to throw a few slices of tiramisu in for the birthday folk. We also ended up ordering bread pudding, which was a warm sweet bread base topped with a scoop of vanilla ice cream. It's been a while since I've been to Piatti. My kids were still little and I wasn't a Yelp elite yet. From what I remember it was good. My kids ordered the make-your-own pizza. We returned to celebrate my mom's birthday. We made reservations on Open Table. When we got there, the place was packed! As we walked in, there seemed to be a hold up. Well, they were checking proof of vaccination cards and ID. We didn't know about this and luckily I had mine and my family's saved on my phone. But my mom, she had to dig around to look for it. Thank goodness she found a picture on her phone. I wish we were told about this when they confirmed our reservations. The waiter said they do but we only got a text confirmation to see if we were still coming. The staff was friendly and worked at attending to their customers. Waters were served. They asked for our drink orders, and they asked if we wanted bread and dip. The drinks and bread arrived quickly but there was a slight wait between ordering our entrees and getting our food. The salad arrived after our entries. :( I ordered the Pomegranate Ginger Martini. Pretty but a little to sweet for my liking and light on the alcohol. For dinner we ordered: Chopped Salad - I like the combination of ingredients with olives and different beans. A little overdressed but overall delicious. Chicken Marsala - my son cleaned his plate! Must be good. Chitarra - I loved the al dente pasta. Great flavor. Nice heat. Casarecce - pretty and tasted good. I like the burrata on top, but there was too much water in the bowl. Gemelli - tasted okay. The pasta texture was good. The lamb was overdone and overall, the dish was too dry. read more

We went to Piatti last night for a family birthday. Generally, both the service & food is excellent but not this time which was unfortunate because we had family from out of town and wanted to have them get the awesome experience. We had reservations at 5:30pm and we were seated promptly. Our server was David S. and he took a while to greet our table. I had to ask for his name and luckily I did because I had to call him over more than once because he was not very attentive. Not sure what kept him busy as other employees filled our water, delivered the appetizers, salads and main dishes and came with fresh grated cheese. David only took our order, brought cocktails and the birthday dessert. The food was delicious as always. Several people had the Petrale Sole and the rest had Lasagna. A small piece of tiramisu was brought out with a candle which was nice and dessert menus dropped off. We would have ordered dessert but it was 10-15 minutes before David returned to ask us if we wanted dessert. By that time, the bday person had finished their dessert long before. No offer of coffee etc. We are used to great service and were very disappointed so we will not be back for a while. read more

We have been going to Piatti's for 20 plus years and here is a honest review.....apps good, cocktails good, but dinner wasn't a four star. Pasta isn't fresh and was under cooked, and had to return. If it was fresh, it wouldn't require to be cooked that long. Server needs to retire as she is burned out after 30 years. read more

First of all, our service was fantastic! Even though it was a fairly busy Saturday lunch service, we were well taken care of and kept hydrated(it was very hot today!) Our server was so sweet and had a beautiful unique name I can't remember. Ambiance was casual though there were several parties celebrating birthdays and other occasions a bit more dressed up but didn't look out of place. The food was just ok. We got the bread service, meatballs, Margherita pizza and the risotto. The bread was fine, the balsamic was flavorful, but nothing outstanding overall. We loved the meatballs and they had terrific cheese pull that we were sorry after we didn't get video of it was so good!!! The pizza and risotto were ok, but nothing to wow about. Because it was our first time, we also got the bread pudding, panna cotta and a scoop of vanilla bean gelato. The bread pudding was pretty good and I liked the gelato, but the panna cotta was not the most flavorful. Tasted like cheesecake and came with a generous helping of berry compote. We had mistakenly thought it would be vanilla bean flavor so that's on us, but overall not memorable to crave again. Standout service and loved the meatballs for sure, but if we came back, I might try a lunch panini or other pasta. read more

Food was ABUNDANT and delicious. We had salads and calamari-- the prawns were delicious. 10/10 recommend. Everything was quick and hot. This is one of the last remaining Piatti in the bay area. It is an average Italian restaurant that has great ambiance and service. If you care a lot about ambiance and service, then this place is for you. If you want Italian food with more flavor, then go to one of the Italian places in Danville downtown, as there are several. The food here is okay, but given the price point, just not worth it for me. If you do go, be sure to make a reservation as it can get crowded. They have large tables and rooms so this place is good for large gatherings read more

This place is so versalite. Great place for adults only ( girls night out, date night..etc ) or family outing or celebration. Price is decent. Outdoor and indoor seating available. You can make reservations. If you're celebrating an occasion, let them know in advance and they will customize print your menu with like "Happy Birthday XXX" or " Happy Anniversary XXX ".... We brought our own birthday cake but due to covid, they made us put the cake on an empty table next to us and we had to cut it ourselves. They will provide supplies but will not touch the cake. There's a lot of food pics posted already but I'll post my Risotto I ordered, it's good but lacking a little flavour. Group of us come here for work lunch. The bread is impressively good. It's crispy outside and soft side, and the dipping sauce is amazing. We ordered a bunch of appetizers, and they are pretty good. For main dish, I ordered the small size of Rigatoni Bolognese and it's good but not that amazing. I had a taste of coworker's shrimp pasta, and I think that one is much better. read more

My husband and I had dinner here last night after not eating here for a few years due to Covid. From the host who seated us to our servers, everything was lovely. A special shout out to David who was extra helpful and attentive throughout the entire meal. The shrimp appetizer was to die for! The shrimp was seasoned extremely well, the sauce was so rich, and the cornbread in the middle was delectable. My husband had the spaghetti and meatballs, and I had the Chitara pasta. Everything came out piping hot and was delicious. We ended the night with their bread pudding, which was luxurious and not too sweet. Highly recommend ordering an espresso martini to end your meal. my wife and I ate there last night. This is the second time we've been there since they've modified their menu and upgrades to the restaurant. I had the lasagna and it was probably the worst I've ever had at any restaurant. My wife chicken and it was OK in her estimation. I cannot recommend this restaurant anymore. We have been there over the last few years, probably 20 times. The new menu leaves a lot to be desired. This will definitely be our last time going to this place. The dude and I came here to celebrate my birthday on 11/28/20. My actual birthday is on 11/24. Anywho, it was my first time going to Danville. I really didn't see much as it was dark. Anywho, we arrived and the grounds was beautiful! They had lights out and a nice patio. We followed the Princess path to the door and was greeted by the hostess who seated us immediately! As we were walking a lot of people seated said Happy Birthday to me as I was decked out in my bday outfit. We choose our seating option which was a perfect selection! Our server came out and gave us water and the menu had my name on it as pictured which made me feel very special! I seriously loved it! I was in the mood for pasta and I wasn't feeling the options on the menu and we already had a Margarita pizza earlier that day a Shadowbrook Winery and I wanted something different. I told our hostess what I was in the mood for and she instantly recommended they could make me an off the menu item which was the Chicken Alfredo. I was like yesss let's do it!!! Oh I totally forgot to mention that the bread and oil was so DELICIOUS very yummy! It was so addicting. The dude and I killed the oil. The bread and oil is not complimentary which is alright as it was only $3 per serving and worth it! It was delicious. I ended up getting the Italian Margarita which is always my go to at most Italian restaurants if they have it. The bread and drinks came out QUICK. Like under 10 minutes being seated which was impressive! My drink was delicious and flavorful. I highly recommend! Our food came out QUICK too! Possible 10 minutes after we got our drinks! The dude said his steak with the green sauce and scallop potatoes was delicious. Since I don't eat beef I can't tell you personally. He said the green sauce made it stand out and unique! My Chicken Alfredo was probably the best Chicken Alfredo I had at a restaurant! The creamy sauce was so addictive and delicious omg it was so good! The chicken was so delicious and packed sooooo much flavor! Like Why isn't this dish on the menu!!! It totally should be. My taste buds danced with happiness! Towards the end of the dinner one of the guests here sung me happy birthday and she had a pretty amazing voice for sure! Updated review after four years: Piatti continues to offer up upscale, quality Italian cuisine at very reasonable prices. We've sometimes Doordash from them during COVID19 Shelter-in-Place, and normally find there entrees still rock. Mary's Organic Half Chicken is a complete meal, with creamy and buttery mashed potatoes and crispy green beans. When I tried the chicken, it was moist and juicy although recently the wife found her chicken on the dry side. Its one of the risks with Doordash as roasted meats can dry out during the journey. The herb-crusted flat iron steak is an excellent entree - order it medium rate and by the time it arrives to your house it'll still have some pink color and juiciness. I liked the sides of squash and roast potatoes. The sauce adds a nice, peppery kick. Their takeout menu also offers a spicy prawn linguine, which is a good dish, but nowhere near as good as their signature Spicy Prawn Chittara from the pre-COVID19 dine-in menu. The pasta does make a difference here, but you still get good flavors and big, tender prawns with the Linguine version. read more

We recently went to Piatti for an offsite dinner and I can't believe I have never been! The vibe is so cozy and holiday decor was beautiful. The restaurant was packed for a weekday evening. It's definitely one of the best Italian restaurants in the neighborhood. We had a fixed 3 course menu with options like Caesar salad, pastas, chicken piccata, tiramisu, etc. I went with the Caesar salad, chicken piccata and tiramisu. Everything was absolutely delicious! Nothing special here we came in for dinner had to sit outside without a reservation but they have heaters. We had the Margherita pizza, the calamari, The lasagna and the chittara. All were ok at best the lasagna came with a weird tasting toast not sure if they burnt it or not but the flavor was off. The lasagna was cold on the inside and tasteless as it was mostly all cheese and not the good melted kind. Sauce was ok.. best thing was the pizza. Definitely wouldn't drive more than 5 mins to this place as it's not worth it. read more

This is the first time I've been here. The food, service and ambience was good and it has a reasonable price point. We were seated quickly and attended to immediately. I had a great red blend wine which was recommended by our waitress. We started with the insalata mista which was nicely dressed then I had the chitarra pasta which I found a tad under seasoned but had big tasty prawns. My husband's Niman ranch pork chop was really moist and flavorful but the sautéed chard did it for me! Super good. I finished off with a tiramisu which was a healthy portion though not the best I've had. We met friends there which we hadn't seen for a really long time so I really appreciated that we weren't pressured to leave as we sat for an extended period of time catching up. The service was great , the dish I ordered not so much , the polenta chicken masala with mushrooms sautéed in wine , tasted as if it had been a few day's old , and microwaved . Lumpy polenta that was cold Very few mushrooms that had an odd wine flavor and the chicken was unbearable. A manager inquired about our meals, I had too be honest , and let him know this particular dish was sub par . They did not charge me ....
