Sweet Potato Crusted Trout-5 stars! Delicious!!
    Sasha S.

Had a wonderful birthday dinner for my daughter. The place is all windows and a gorgeous view of the fountain outside. The pasta is house-made and delicious. I had the sweet potato crusted fish and it was Amazing-light and fresh and just yummy! My daughter had the chicken fettuccini - her fave. The service was excellent and, when they found out it was her bday, they gave her a gift card and birthday dessert!

We had a wonderful birthday dinner at Piatti's! The atmosphere was warm, relaxing, and pleasantly quiet, making it the perfect place to celebrate. The food was absolutely delicious--every dish was fresh, flavorful, and beautifully prepared. The service was attentive and welcoming, which made the evening even more enjoyable. We had a fantastic experience and will definitely be back.

Came here for their happy hour. Everything was delicious minus the fried chicken. We tasted the garlic Parmesan and the spicy honey, both were over fried so unpleasant to enjoy. I had to request the Caesar salad be switched since they only game me the butts of the romaine vs the front green half. The fries were delish, especially the sauce! The shrimp was a bit too lemony and the muscles were great if you enjoy a tomato based sauce. However everything else was still enjoyable (minus the chicken). And the waitress was friendly and very helpful and accommodating. The ambiance is nice there are TV's to watch games and etc. and enjoy the decor and music playing in the background. Overall I do recommend. And great photo opps right outside.

Girls night out happy hour: pam took amazing care of us; to include 8 of us deciding on drinks and food from the Piatti menu, happy hour menu and restaurant week menu choices. She checked on often and made sure every beverage and plate were perfect. Manager also stopped by a couple times and even grabbed empty plates. Drinks were perfectly crafted and creative. Try the piatti spritz for a fun and refreshing burst of flavor. The food was amazing! From great crusty bread with dipping oil to short ribs, to shrimp scampi, to pizza, to cesar salad (complete with anchovies), to zucchini noodles and more. Absolute perfection in each dish. French press coffee was beautifully presented. The bar was lovely, lots of natural light and very pleasant for lively conversation. Valet available, plenty of parking.

We've been to this location once couple years ago, also to the Quarry location as well. We celebrated my brothers 13th birthday dinner & everything was great It was a Saturday around 4pm so not crowded, I was able to get a reservation days before for a table of 10. Love the happy hour on the weekends! Food: 8.5/10 Service: 9/10 Ambiance: 10/10

We had the most amazing lunch/dinner with incredible drinks, burgers, and fries. The food was superb, and what made the experience next level was our incredible server, John. He was so attentive, kind and made the best recommendations! I cannot more highly recommend an establishment!

The setting is nice in the LaCantera area. The food was just okay. I wasn't that impressed and felt I'd get the same taste at Olive Garden. The service was great and the waiters and waitresses were superb. We had the bruschetta for an appetizer which was on a huge piece of bread, mussels and ciopinno for dinner. We've had it better at other places and I have made better mussels and ciopinno. We've ended with the tiramisu which was a huge fail in my opinion. For the price of the food and the taste I won't be back. It was great to give it a try though. I've been all over Europe and have had actual Italian food and this isn't it. Take a tip from me: if it has any kind of Alfredo on the menu either pass or have 0 expectations as it's not real Italian.

Decided during vacation that I was in the mood for some Italian food this past Sunday night, not just any Italian food but authentic, homemade Italian. So I looked up the best pappardelle pasta in the area, and this place popped up. So, I made an online order. I ended up getting 2 items, Short Rib sugo and Spicy Pepperoni Flatbread. Everything tasted and looked homemade. The first bite I took of that Short Rib sugo, it melted in my mouth almost instantly. The pappardelle was a perfect al dente. Some of the pasta was stuck together because it was in a togo container, which is understandable. If I was able to eat there in person, the pasta would be that much better. The spicy Pepperoni Flatbread had that perfect amount of spice. It's not in the Pepperoni but in their marinara sauce. Both items were so good. The service was amazing all around, from the host to the manager, and it wasn't even busy. Next time I'm in San Antonio, I'll come eat there in person. I will definitely be back.

This was excellent…read more I added this to my list after seeing its outstanding reviews on Google and Yelp in case we had spare time on our business trip, being in San Antonio from Tampa - we had that extra time and ended up here and it's great that we did. I called ahead of time asking if they had availability for 6 guests at around 6 PM and they said that it shouldn't be a problem, but they can't guarantee that we'd be seated right away... sold! We arrived and while the set up the table, Charlene welcomed us to hang out at the bar. We were then greeted by Ben, who we came to find out was one of the owners of the restaurant. He spoke with us briefly as our table was being set up, welcoming us in. Within 3 minutes of coming in, they set up a table for us in the corner of the restaurant and had us seated. The place is small (not tiny) and even on a Wednesday at 6 PM, it was clearly a popular spot... we would continue to find out why that was the case. Forgive me, as I cannot remember our waitresses' name, but she was great. She handed us our menus and let us be as we needed a moment to make our decisions. The front of the menu tells the humble story of how the restaurant came to be - definitely worth a read while you are waiting. Our waitress came back and took our drink and food orders. At the same time, I asked if she could have Ben come over as we wanted to hear more about his story after reading the brief story on the front of the menu. He came over and talked to us for ~5 minutes telling us about how he ended up in the States after leaving his home and how the restaurant came to be - from that alone, my experience had already been elevated and I was even more excited for the remainder of the experience to come. The drinks arrived, followed by the food, which we ordered (mostly) solely on Ben's recommendations. Everything looked delicious and as we were told by Ben, it was all fresh, purchased that day from the market and cooked to order. We started with the fried mozzarella, which was unique to me, in that it had no marinara but instead, spicy honey and sesame seeds and was fried in beef tallow - it was great. I ordered the Chicken Parm, which had fresh mozzarella poured into it at the table - the mozzarella smelled (and tasted) AMAZING. The dish has select bites throughout it that had some spice to it - I'd say that the spice level was about a 3/10, coming from someone who doesn't have the highest spice tolerance. The flavor/satisfaction level? 10/10. Typically, I'm not a dessert guy, but because of how good the experience was up to this point, I had to indulge. I ordered the crème brûlée and was not disappointed. Good temperature, good, mild flavor and presentation. This experience was excellent. From the unsuspecting setting, the greeting, the noise level in the restaurant, the attentiveness of the servers, the presentation and flavor of the food, to the staff asking how everything was and holding the door for us as we left, this is an exemplary example of how hospitality/service should be done. Ben, hopefully you are extremely proud of the team you have put together and the establishment you have made over the past two years. Very well done and thank you for your hospitality. If we are ever in town again, this will DEFINITELY be a stop that we make. Cheers.

Not too hot, just that easy breeze rolling off the river like it's got nowhere else to be. I'm there with my daughter and family, and the world's walking by boats cruising, people laughing, a little chaos, a little charm... dinner and a show, no ticket required. Now the food real Italian food. Not the kind that just throws red sauce at you and hopes for the best. This is layered. Garlic that actually means something. Rich, buttery sauces clinging to perfectly cooked pasta like they're in a lifelong commitment. You taste herbs, you taste depth it's the kind of Italian food that makes you slow down mid-bite and just nod like, "Yeah... they got this right." Drinks? Smooth enough to keep ordering, strong enough to make you question your life choices in the best way. Service was dialed in. Nobody missing, nobody stressed just right there when you needed them, like they were reading your mind or watching you a little too closely... either way, it worked. And the atmosphere? That's where it gets dangerous. Because you sit there watching the River Walk roll by, the noise, the laughter, the movement... and suddenly two hours disappear. You're ordering dessert you didn't plan on, another drink you don't need, and nobody at the table's in a hurry to leave. I came for Italian food... ...and ended up staying for everything else.

The family that took her in taught my grandmother all about Italian cooking, some of which she passed down to her daughters. Her spaghetti sauce, which she called gravy, was the best. My mother's sauce was just as good. Therefore, we never ate spaghetti out because we knew it wouldn't be as good. Last night, I was hungry for Italian food. Spaghetti was far from my mind. However, a super two for one deal on Door Dash enticed me to order spaghetti with Italian sausage from Albi's Vite Italian Kitchen. It arrived in two foil pans with plastic domed lids. There was enough food in those two servings for me to eat four meals! When I took the lid off, I could not believe how many slices of Italian sausage were on top of the spaghetti. The marinara sauce looked kind of plain and simple but was surprisingly flavorful. I was able to eat a slice of sausage with every bite. That combined with the chunky tomato pieces in the sauce made for a very satisfying meal. Was it the best spaghetti I've ever had? No. Would I order it when I visit the restaurant in person? No. But it was good enough to make me ready to try other dishes on their menu. I think they will most likely blow me away. The reheated portion I had for lunch today was even better! The pasta absorbed a lot of the tomato flavor. I think my next batch will be fried in a tiny bit of butter the way my mother did it when she had leftovers.

As far as the food, we had the fried mozzarella, which was essentially a log of cheese deep-fried and served over sauce. It was delicious, but the cheese-to-crust ratio was a bit heavy. The Caesar salad looked better than it tasted. It was very wet, if that makes sense, and the lettuce seemed soggy. Now for the Wagyu ragu. This almost made me have a seizure, and not in a good way. It was extremely salty and completely inedible, so we had to send it back. The waitstaff was very accommodating and agreed that the salt level was way off, so we replaced it with the carbonara. I'm not sure if that's what authentic carbonara is supposed to taste like, but I did not enjoy it. It tasted burnt to me and had too much pepper. I also didn't care for the shape of the noodles. Last, we had the Americano pizza. It was decent, but nothing to write home about. I just think that if you're going to advertise a pizza with meat on it, there should be more than one piece of sausage per slice. As far as the service, our server was fine. Not particularly friendly, but straightforward and efficient. The manager (or another server) was helpful when it came to replacing our dish. Overall, I would not go back. The first night I was greeted by a friendly host and sat at the bar, where Billy took great care of me. He recommended the Cotto e Salsiccia, and I'm so glad he did. It was easily one of the best pizzas I've had. While I was there, the cheesemaker let me try a bite of the fresh mozzarella they were making in-house. It was still warm and absolutely delicious. The next night I was feeling a little homesick after being away for work, and all I could think about was that pizza. I walked back in and the host greeted me by name. I sat at the bar again, where another bartender remembered me from the night before, and Billy came over just to say hi. It seems like such a small thing, but when you're traveling alone, being welcomed back like that can completely change your evening. What really impressed me was seeing that it wasn't just me. The guy next to me ordered two pizzas to go, and when the chef brought them out he smiled and said, "Oh, Jose! I thought this order looked familiar!" You can tell they actually know their regulars and genuinely enjoy what they do. The second night I ordered the Fontina e Salsiccia, and somehow it was just as good as the first pizza. Everything is cooked in the wood-fired oven--even the wings--and you can taste the difference. The crust has that perfect char, the ingredients are fresh, and it's the kind of authentic Neapolitan pizza that keeps you thinking about it long after you've left. I've eaten at a lot of good restaurants while traveling, but very few have made me feel as welcome as Dough did. Great food is one thing. Great people are what made me come back the very next day.
