Signature lomo noodle is creamy, the lomo(beef) was very tender. Highly recommend all of the lomo items on the menu. The marination on the beef is a little bit on the saltier side but the seasoning and flavor was fantastic. My lady ordered the lomo with rice and fries. Yelp was not wrong about Picante! We happened to be in the area hoping to go to Soup an' Fresh but the line was down the street so we decided to skip it. We wanted to grab a bite to eat and checked Yelp for foodie locations. This was in the top 10 so off we went. It's located in a large shopping plaza so parking is easy. As soon as we walked up to the door we could see it was jam packed with a single two seater table open - it was perfect! It was flavorful, the rice was cooked to perfection, the steak was tender, flavorful and the serving size was generous! They added pickled chili and radishes to the dish. Definitely kicks the dish up a notch Lomo Saltado: 10/10! The fries were crispy and fresh, the sauce was incredibly savory, the steak was also tender and flavorful and even the plain white rice was perfect. We stumbled upon this little gem and couldn't be happier about our dining experience. The service was great and everything was fast. First impressions: small, hole in the wall kind of place. Cute, clean and efficient. The website asked for reservations so I was surprised to see that it was a small, quaint place with lots of character, but reservations were not required for a lunch. My co-worker and I really love lomo saltido and so we tried this place out who happens to specialize in this Peruvian delight. The server came to our table to take our order and we ordered our drinks and food. The food came out quickly. It was delicious. The fries were mind-blowing, the meat and meat sauce with the rice were lovely. Both my co-worker and I decided we'd come back for sure. Great vibe and great food. It has modern eatery like vibe with vibrant Peruvian decor. Service is good considering only one waitress does it all to cover the restaurant. We ordered Tallarin Saltado de carne. It's a stir-fried beef sirloin linguine pasta with onions tomatoes. Tastes great, beef sirloin is a bit more rare to make it juicy and tender. It's savory and tasty. Chaufa de mariscos is seafood fried rice with egg and seafood. Unfortunately, we feel the seafood is too little for the price. Otherwise taste is good and savory. This place has been on my to-go list for about 6 months now but I was finally able to try the food. I have to say that I wish I came here earlier because it is really good quality food with reasonable prices. The Peruvian style cuisine has a ton of flavor, the spices are present in every bite, the sauce for the pasta was so good, the meat was cooked properly and wasn't overcooked at all. The prices for the pastas were $20, but the portion size was also very generous. The service was very friendly, professional, and helpful. They made sure we were doing well during our meal and the interior is very clean. The decor has dim lighting but I was still able to see everything clearly. We were eager to have Picante and our order was delivered. Our order was delivered Hot and prepared fresh. When opened up the container that had the Lomo Saltado, I noticed the fries were separate from the Lomo Saltado. I tried it and it was actually really good. I've had it together with the fries, but this was different and never had it like that. The Papa a La Huancaina was really good and love the texture and the consistency of the sauce; our favorite! The Lomo a La Huancaina was so delicious and different from other places; very ingenious. Especially with the La Huancaina sauce, took the dish to another level in my opinion. The creaminess of the pasta was just so flavorful and delicious. We also ordered Inca Kola and Chicha Morada; can't go wrong with those drinks. Our overall experience with the food was great. Loved the flavors and the freshness and the portion size was good, in my personal opinion. In my personal opinion, I would have to say that Picante is one of the best Peruvian Food restaurants I have ever had. If you want try good Peruvian Food that is has unique dishes and reasonable prices, I recommend them if you are in the Ontario area. We have ordered thru DoorDash from here once before and the food was excellent so a week later with those flavors still on our mind we decided to come here for date night dinner. We started with the papa a la huancaina and the anticuchos. The huancaina sauce was absolutely delicious. The best I've had! And the anticuchos had a rich charbroiled meaty flavor and were beautifully presented and the sauce it came with was a bit spicy but delicious. For our entrees we got the lomo saltado that came with perfectly cooked rice, crispy French fries, and the saucy beef mixed with onions and tomatoes. It was absolutely delicious! The meat was very tender and flavorful. We also got the lomo a la huancaina which were linguine noodles in that rich delicious huancaina sauce and the same beef mixture as the lomo saltado. My bf had chicha morada to drink and it was perfect and refreshing and I had the passion fruit drink and it was delicious as well. I took home a $10 box of the cute little alfajores and those were good quality made with butter and the dulce de leche on the inside was generous.
