We went for our first time last week. We will definitely be back! I know when you go to an Italian restaurant you should get something with red sauce.....however just had to try the grilled scallops with risotto. PERFECTION in every way, from the looks, taste, quantity and price, it won me over! I want to go back and try something "typical" Italian, but it will be hard not to get the scallops again! Wow! So excited for Pica's to finally open in West Chester. Kudos to the management for handling the extremely high demands and expectations of the much awaited opening with professionalism and patience. The pizza was everything we were looking for. We had to order early due to it selling out the first several nights. It was worth the wait. When we finally made it in to eat-in at the restaurant, we ordered a few salads to share and some appetizers. All were delicious and served in a timely manner! Definitely will go back many times! I was really excited about trying Picas now that it is in my area. Unfortunately, my experience was not good. I went with some family members and all 4 of us had an issue with our meal. The lasagna my grandmother got was clearly frozen and had not been fully heated. The plate it was on had food gunk on the bottom which was pretty gross. The pizza we ordered was pure salt and the crust was soggy. The calamari was in this strange butter/garlic sauce which is NOT how calamari is supposed to be served. The only thing that should be served with Calamari is MARINARA! Not good. I really wanted this to be a great experience but was very disappointed. I decided to give Pica's another shot and the food was a little bit better but not much. The pizza was not soggy this time but still very salty. That was all we ordered the second time we went and unfortunately still wasn't thrilled with the meal. The server took far too long to greet us and was not very attentive when it came refills. Very nice inside. The menu was interesting. Kind of white table cloth meets pizza place. The prices overall seemed higher than others but you got to pay for the building. We ordered their pizza. You better like sauce. It is good hot and got a little soggy by the end. I will go back to my strip center restaurant when I want pizza with variety. read more

Went here with three other couples. It was fairly busy and we were seated near the end of our cocktail in the bar. Service was very good. The salads were killer. I'd go back just for a salad. Each couple ordered a small pizza which produced a small take home box for each couple. The pizza was good bordering on great. It's upside down pizza meaning sauce on top. I think a bit of broiling would have been helpful. They also don't have any named or speciality pizzas. I bet if they made a margarita pizza it would be awesome! read more

Had a wonderful dinner with 4 friends last night. Pepperoni and black olive pizza is one of my favorites...portions were delicious and incredible. Waitress was fun and always there to get extra drinks, etc. Highly recommend this wonderful place and we will be going back soon! read more

Must be a full moon, everything was confusing from the beginning, bread was frozen and the staff was unconscious Seating in the isle while the restaurant was empty. After saying that I would pay for the drinks and the wait staff gave me the bill,then the manager came to talk to us she then said she would take care of the drinks.i can't say I will go back anytime soon.its all about the manager who hired the bottom of the barrel read more

Never made it to the Upper Darby location even though I had heard Sid Mark mention Pica's hundreds of times on the Sounds of Sinatra program. However, we recently stopped by the new-ish West Chester location on a busy Friday night. First, there is not enough parking for the number of seats, so I had to drop off the ladies and hunt down a spot. We had about a 20 minute wait for a table, so we went over to the bar, which was also packed. I saw a Yards tap handle and asked the bartender what style of Yards, he replied "Yards." I asked if it was it Pale Ale, Brawler, he didn't have a clue. It ended up being the Pale Ale, one of my faves. We were seated in a big booth and enjoyed the bread basket with the peppers in oil while we reviewed the menu. I ended up ordering the clams and linguini and although the waitress reminded me it was made with pesto, I thought I'd give it a try, but it was a mistake. It was a nice portion and had plenty of tender clams, the flavors just didn't go together and to make things worse, the pasta was way overcooked. Maybe others enjoy this take on a classic, but for me, al dente pasta with chopped clams in a garlic butter wine sauce is tough to beat. Others in our group ordered the baked rigatoni which was really good and and a grilled swordfish special that hit the spot. Dinners do not include salad. We split a cannoli for dessert and it was one of the best I've had. A crisp shell and a creamy filling with two dollops of whipped cream. Service was spot on for a very busy Friday night during Lent. We will absolutely return to try the pizza that looked awesome. Or, maybe I can ask for the clams over linguini old school style. I think Mr. S would approve, wouldn't you agree Sidney? read more

I've been going to Picas since I moved to the area is 2005 as my husband loves the pizza. After tonight's dinner, unfortunately I'm not sure we will be going back. The bread seemed as if someone gutted it and then served it - it was basically crust and the pizza (half pepperoni, half meatball) was extremely disappointing. The pizza was slightly burned on the bottom yet came out luke warm and had little to no flavor. They have sprinkle garlic on the table which had the same size holes as crushed red pepper so when you pour it on the pizza be careful or you'll have a pile of garlic. At 7:15 we felt rushed to leave the restaurant despite them closing at 9pm. Really disappointing Picas experience. read more

I lived in Upper Darby for years and I loved Pica's . It's nice to have one in West Chester. It's crazy busy but they crank it out. Only 15 mins for a pie on a busy Friday night. Parking is hard to find despite all the spots. The pizza is square with the cheese on the bottom with a red top . Pretty yummy but $20 for a large pie with toppings. read more

My husband and I decided to finally try Picca's on a Thursday night. We arrived around 7pm. We were told there was a 15-20 minute wait. However there were tons of tables open, but okay. I have a background in the biz so I understand sometimes there may be things behind the scenes like short staffed or doubling seating servers, etc. We waited 15 minutes and were sat. The ambience in this place reminds me of the inside of a Pizza Hut sit down restaurant when they used to have the buffets. Not too impressed. The menu also reminds me of a chain-like Italian wannabe. Nothing special or innovative. Yawn. Our server was friendly and took our drink order. She dropped the drinks off and said she would be right with us. We drank our drinks and waited... And waited... And waited... No sign of her! I looked at my watch. It was going on 8pm. 35 minutes and she never came to take our order. We left some cash for the drinks and headed to another restaurant...one we felt confident would be a better experience. Can't tell you how the food was, but it is safe to say we will never go back. read more

This place had SO MUCH HYPE...and I was terribly disappointed. We've been 3 times just to see if it was maybe sucking due to opening kinks. Nope. Awful each time. The calamari was covered in olives which was not indicated anywhere on the menu. Needless to say I HATE OLIVES...like don't taint my food dude! The pizza was a soggy disaster. I, like many others it seems, were excited to try this place after hearing so much about the UD location - I have family that owns pizza places, and even they had raved about it. Unfortunately, it just didn't meet the hype...reminded me of Ellios (not that it tasted like frozen pizza, but similar dough). I did not have the wait problems that others did - pizza was ready when I picked up 25 minutes after called in order (I did takeout at lunch on a Saturday). I wouldn't write the place off, but would consider other local places for pizza first. read more

I don't see what the fuss is about, since the pizza here is merely OK in my opinion. Why? Well, I personally don't like the sauce on top of the cheese -- because the cheese merges with the dough, causing its flavor to disappear. However, my main gripe is that the 2-inch diameter pepperoni is sliced so thin -- about 1/32nd of an inch -- that you get less than two ounces of it on a large pie and can hardly taste it! read more

I am glad this Delaware County staple made the trek westward on Route 3. It was a brilliant move - many people have made the same trek and have moved further west of Philadelphia. However, they miss the pizza they grew up on in delco. You either love it or hate it. I for one, love it. I grew up on this pizza in the 80's & 90's. I now live in Chester Co and I can say that Pica's West Chester is now on my favorites list on my phone. Sauce on top, cheese on the bottom - it's simple and delicious. For pizza, the plain and white are incredible. Also, try the mozzarella sticks. It's a hidden gem on the menu. They're freshly made onsite and absolutely delicious. Our only complaint is the premium they're charging. I understand they have to pay for the new building - but the prices are extremely high. But, we're more than willing to pay the premium. read more

I was stunned by how bad my pizza tasted. I tried them on the recommendation of a friend. I ordered a large pie with eggplant. The eggplant tasted rancid, the sauce tastes metallic, and there was no crispiness in the crust. I will have indigestion for the next month. It was one soggy mess that had to be eaten with a knife and fork and even then each bite sagged on the fork. I had a small bit and my Friends and I agreed it had to hit the trash, which it did. My wife and I were looking to try something new and somebody recommended the pizza at Pica's. Oh boy did it not disappoint! It's a square pizza instead of your standard round and sliced into rectangular pieces that remind if the shape of Elios, but that's where the similarity there ends. The flavor, texture, and freshness of their pie and its toppings are fantastic. We have been multiple times now and will definitely be saving this one as a fan favorite. read more

Very disappointed !! I grew up near the Pica's in Delco. We went there Often. Anxious about this opening only to be let down. $15.00 Antipasta was a huge let down. Meats were all cold cuts......no real aged provolone and no prosciutto!! No comparison to Giuseppe's in Edgemont. They are the real deal.. We ordered Penne with tomato gravy. Sauce was watery and flavorless. Tasted like they opened a can!! Minestrone soup was just ok. Lastly their famous pizza was bland at best. Nothing special at all. Again tomato gravy was bland.
