Cute spot located in downtown Culver City. I was surprised to see that it was Asian Fusion. The dishes are Thai inspired and really take your taste buds for a ride. It was an explosion of sweet, sour, savory and spicy. I really liked the pork belly and the papaya salad. They have happy hour and a long list of cocktails to choose from. Service is good, the servers constantly come and check on your table and clear out dishes as they are finished. Ambiance is great - it gave me a retro 80s feel. The vibes seems to be very much small shareable plates which was perfect for our party of 8. The waitress was very helpful in navigating the menu - she recommended the "Phuket Let's Go" cocktail which was an alcoholic spin in Thai tea. Looked very pretty but unfortunately the flavors didn't blend together for me... However the food was a true hit! Highlight was the hamachi crudo which we ordered thrice. Don't take the fire sign indicators of spice next to each menu item lightly...while tasty, the nam prik wings made my lips numb :) but highly recommend if your spice tolerance is better than mine! It's quicker he said, in a place that had 6 patrons there all together. The very lackadaisical staff member comes by and asks if you need anything. You say hot sauce. Your Cabbage with Udon and shrimp you thought would be Udon & shrimp with cabbage comes out and it needs hot sauce. You wait. It gets cold. You ask for hot sauce again. But it never comes. So glad I tipped 25% in advance on the phone. And I got a 3% mystery surcharge to my bill. Because people clearly care about the customers! The staff is lame. The service is lame. Every single dish regardless of their indicated mild medium spicy hot score card is SPICY. I don't mind spicy but it really detracts from the dish if everything is the same type of spice. The Thai tea cocktail was AMAZING, such a unique and clever twist. Surprisingly The coconut milk didn't make the drink too heavy. I would recommend getting the potato wedges as it helps you obtain a fresh clean more starchy bland palate amongst all the spices we age that night - it helps make the rest of the dishes more enjoyable to eat. The bread plate starter seemed a bit Mediterranean but was still delicious as was the miso pork jowl, hamachi collar special and the pea shoots. These were smaller to mid-sized plates but enough to get all a sizable bit. A more entree like offering was the udon noodles with shrimp..very good. Space can be very noisy but the service is prompt and efficient We only had beers but there are plenty of craft cocktails coming from the bar. First time, reserved table for 8 on the patio (super nice patio, very warm with the heat lamps)!! Missed the happy hour (Mon-Thu 5-6 PM, Fri/Sat 4-6 PM, Sun 2-6 PM). Servers were extremely kind, and one of them made a great impression when he explained each of the dishes in detail ... felt like fine dining!! Food came out pretty fast for a Friday night, even though they encouraged us to order the bigger dishes quickly since they take the longest. For groups larger than 6 it's a default 20% tip and additional 3% charge for back of house (regardless of the size of your group), so keep that in mind! Coconut Kiwi Lassi mocktail - $8 - Flavor was nice but the drink was 90% ice. Additional $10 if you want alcohol. Found this be pretty pricey for what you get. House Tomato Curry - $32 - Personally one of my favorite things on the menu, very sweet curry without much spice. Came with naan but would've liked more to really get all the curry left in the dish. Bowl was not even half full. Hard to share because everyone basically gets a spoonful. For the price, not worth it. Would understand price a bit more if there was meat in it, but it's just potatoes, onions, and rice balls. Thai Chicken Katsu - $34 - We ordered two. Tasted like a good fried chicken patty, but nothing special beyond that. Greens were spicy, but chicken was pretty mild. Comes with some dipping sauce. Crispy Squid - $25 - Also a pretty small serving. Said we should eat the soup first and dip the squid in for the full flavor. Comparable to a fried calamari you'd find at any seafood spot. Nam Prik Wings - $18 - Absolutely massive wings, 3 flames on their menu but not that spicy. I think the katsu greens were spicier than the wings. Wings had great flavor - honestly my favorite chicken dish here that I tried. However the amount of meat you get off of it is actually kind of small because the bones are so big. This was a massive chicken, kinda curious where they got it because the wings looked as big as a turkey. Brussel Sprouts - $15 - The chili sauce dominated the flavor of a good brussel sprout. Tasted bitter. Didn't enjoy. Hashbrown - $? - Can't find this on the online menu, but it was described as some sort of hashbrown with seafood inside. More mushy than crispy. Reminded me of a seafood pancake. Topped with a fried egg. Meant to make a lettuce/cabbage wrap with it. It was a good flavor! We ordered 2 of these. Before eating here, I was already surprised to see the menu prices and then I learned it was family style, which made a bit more sense. However, I still don't feel it was worth the price - especially with some of the items (looking at the curry) which barely had enough to share. With my mocktail and these items, the bill worked out to be ~$60 per person, which hurt my pocket (for reference, spending $30 on a meal is already a lot for me). I can see it being nice for those who have money or want to splurge, but I can't get behind going somewhere and spending that much and still not feeling full at the end. I wouldn't mind ordering the Yaki Udon again, but wouldn't go out of my way to do so. I simply wouldn't order the wings again, they were too average. The Hamachi Crudo is honestly worth coming here for since it was so delicious. Lastly we got the chocolate cake, which was really good. To be specific, the cake itself was decent, but the hot cookie was out of this world. I'd come back for the cookie alone because it was so good. The cake itself definitely needs an upgrade to match the cookie. Service overall was great, they were helpful and speedy with our food. The vibe of this place is pretty cool, it's upscale and has nice lighting. It's just a shame the food isn't better. I would say most do the food was above average but not exceptional. We came for happy hour on a Saturday (4-5pm) and it was not too busy. We were disappointed they didn't have the crispy chicken skin. Instead they had a smashed cucumber salad for $10 (did not order). The potato wedges were good with the lemongrass topping. Brussel sprouts were a little too saucy for me, but interestingly reminded me of Hot Cheetos (in a good way). Maybe it was from crispy corn topping. The nam prik wings were good, loved the fish sauce glaze. They are a bit spicy (I'd say medium). The spiciness doesn't build, but it does linger. The Miso pork jowl was good, very saucy, but also a very small portion (thin slices of pork). All the saucy dishes made me want a side of rice to soak up all the delicious flavors. So on whim, we check out Piccalilli, a restaurant that puts a twist in traditional Southeast Asian dishes. Long story short, it's a pretty good, albeit bit pricey restaurant for what you get. The flavors are there, but also just falls short from wowing us. Nestled in the corner a Culver Blvd and Main St, it's easy to find the restaurant with its turquoise decor and busy but casual ambiance. Even on a Monday night they do ask if we have reservation, which we did not. Luckily there was a table outdoors and that worked for us. We ordered two dishes, the Brussel Sprouts with Korean Chili ($17), and Thai chicken katsu ($37). Both are quite good, but not necessarily knockouts. The Brussel Sprouts works well with the Korean Chili + corn nuts and scallion in terms of flavor, but it does feel like the whole dish is just drenched and you lose any form of texture. It's not mushy, but there's also no crisp or crunch. It all just felt like one note. Thankfully the flavor carried the dish. The Thai Chicken Katsu I think fared better in terms of interest and would work well as a $27 dish. For a $37 dish, however, it fell short of wowing us. I'm guessing the yellow sauce is either the aromatics or chicken fat, and that adds to the savoriness of the chicken Katsu, while the Thai bird chili adds a bit of punch. The Pineapple achar balances the chicken with its tart sweetness. It's overall a good dish that merits its popularity. Other than that, really good service overall. Despite being outside, our water pitcher was never left low or empty, and the food came out surprisingly quick! read more

We made reservations online and can I just say.. this place holds the type of food that would fall under "my last meal on earth". The service was impeccable and we ordered several dishes to share. The GM who was serving us was extremely attentive, friendly, and wonderful! He even brought out several dishes that were compliments from the chef, which was awesome since it was one of our guest's birthday. Some of the dishes we had were soo good, we had to keep the emptied saucy dishes so that we could order some Naan to wipe off the sauce! We had the Brussel Sprouts, Hamachi Carudo, Nam Prik Wings, Miso Pork Jowl, crispy shrimp dish, Thai Chicken Katsu, Yaki Udon and the Green Curry Shrimp Ball (my favorite! And order a side of dish with this). In addition, to one of their popular dishes: cao lau pork. Out of all the happy hours I enjoyed the miso pork jowl the most. The rest were full of flavor, but a bit on the salty side for me. The cao lao pork was not bad, but in simple terms it was basically a pho, that didn't have much soup. The servers were nice, but they didn't really check on us if we needed anything else. Also we had a bunch of dishes we finished that we just stacked on top of each other. And they didn't come to clear the dishes until towards the end when we were finished. The miso pork jowl and nam prik wings took forever to come out. Me and my friend were done eating and wanted to cancel the food since it took so long. However, the server told us they were already made, so we took it to go instead. Also, many of their dishes have a bit of a kick to them, even if there aren't any spicy indicators on that menu item. Just something to note in case you are very sensitive to spicy or pepper. Everything was so delicious though. Cocktails were just ok. Chocolate cake dessert was the best chocolate cake I've ever had. The fudge was good, the cake was moist, the ice cream wasn't too sweet & it wasn't overtaking the plate, & there's a surprise cookie underneath the ice cream. It was creamy, rich (but not too rich), chocolatey, sweet but not over the top; the ice cream cut into the richness and it was just a really well done dessert. Would definitely come back for just that dessert it was THAT good. However, the ordering process is terrible. You do not order from a server, there are 2 QR codes: 1 is to the view the menu (no pictures), the other is to order (with pictures). But every time you scan the order code, it opens up a new tab. This gets confusing if you are ordering drinks at first, then ordering food, then another drink order, then more food: that's 4 separate tabs. It also gets confusing if they're bringing the food out at different times & you're not paying attention. This happened with our large group and we realized we never received one of our orders at the end and in the chaos we had double ordered another dish. I would come back if it was a straightforward dinner where you knew all the items you were going to order so you can add it in all at once. But if you're with a large group or if you plan on hanging out there, it can be a bit cumbersome with that QR ordering process rather than adding to an existing tab. read more

Flavorful, delicious, and so so worth it! Been here twice and both times ordered the pork belly because it was THAT good. Definitely order a small side of rice to enjoy with all the sauces and balance out all the savory goodness. Also loved the wings (not pictured because I went straight to eating lol) so do order that as well! One con is that I wish there were more vegetable options. Awesome ambience and located at a corner where you can people watch in a bustling neighborhood. I suggest being seated on their patio where you can enjoy alfresco dining on a summer evening.
