    Braciolette di manzo

Absolutely incredible! Brought my visiting mother here and we both adored it. Making a reservation was super simple, the place itself is very quaint but homey and felt like dining in someone's home. I got the Braciolette and it was unlike anything I've ever had. My mom had the chicken parm, and she is SUPER picky and absolutely loved it. Would 100% come back here again and I recommend it to anyone looking for authentic Italian in a beautiful, small, elegant space.

Such a small intimate restaurant with so much soul & flavor. Nice family. Great fine dining service. The lobster ravioli is to die for. Restaurant is a 6 table seater so very small but the menu is great.

I've been coming to this place for quite a while and always enjoy the short menu! Nothing fancy just great food. The service is very good and the ambiance is suited for friends and a date. I highly recommend this neighborhood charm to all in the East Village.

Loved trying this Italian restaurant tucked away. It's the perfect place to relax and get away from the bustle of the city. Reservations are needed, and they have a $5 cork fee for BYOB. We loved getting to bring our favorite bottle of wine to pair with our handmaid pastas - everything was delicious.

I can't imagine eating Italian food anywhere else Downtown. Mario, the food, the ambience, the best tiramisu I've had in New York. This place matters.

Of course I'm going to grab some Italian when back in NYC. This spot is a great hole in the wall option, but I think it literally sits 15 people so may be hard to get a table or can easily feel too small. But the food is solid, the chicken parm had a great balance of cheese and sauce, and the chicken didn't exactly have the burntness I like but each bite was really nice. The pasta was fine, not very memorable and small but still enjoyable, I do wish though it was more al dente and less sauce-heavy.

I am torn between 4 and 5 stars based on Sunday night's dinner with our friends from Napa. The 1/2 star vacillation is not fixable, as the sheer size of the space will not change without ruining the very things that provide the charm and uniqueness - so I am going to roll with 5 - but I understand others may find the idiosyncrasies less charming than I do. Let's cover the main positives: 1) BYOB with a $5 corkage 2) reservations accepted 3) terrific people 4) the coziest space 5) good food made with love There is seating for 16 guests - and that would truly pack the place. The four-top at the front window is the place to be. The kitchen is an extension from the seating, and you should expect to wash whatever you wear in, as the wonderful aromas of the kitchen permeate every inch of the space (one of those unfixable things). The unisex bathroom is accessible through the kitchen. So while host, owner and chef Esperanza prepares your meal, Willie takes care of everything else, and did a terrific job of it during our visit. I spent a couple of minutes chatting with her at the end of our meal - a really nice lady. I kissed her hand. We had four bottles of wine with our meals, and some chilling was required, so Willie ran chilled wine from the fridge to our table. Over our three hour stay we enjoyed apps - the artichokes were terrific, and a small break before our main course - which included veal scaloppine, gnocchi Bolognese and Osso Bucco. All were terrific. The semifreddo dessert was ok but not inspiring. The most amazing part was that dinner for four, plus corkage -$150. Please remember to tip on the value of your wine in addition to the food!

For the BYOB, can it be hard liquor such as vodka or rum? Does it have to be wine?

No hard liquor, wine and beer only,

How much is the corkage fee now?

    $5 for a 750 ml bottle

Is the outdoor seating warm enough that I won't need a coat when it's 35 degrees outside?

It would be certainly not warm enough for the waiter to come outside

I was told I can only get outdoor seating. Can anyone tell me if it's warm enough?. It's March and will be 40 degrees out.?

We do have heaters, but if it’s warm enough, is something that each individual has to decide, we are more concerned about the server having to come out

    Is this place Cash only?

No, we take amex visa mc

How do I make a reservation?

    Open table or call them.

Does anyone know if the $5 cork fee is per bottle?

    Yes

Even if we wouldn't have gotten a window table and it wasn't Christmas, the vibes and interior of this place would have still been great. We went in December night of 2024 so some aspects of the menu have changed however, most of the dishes still appear to be on their menu as of now, June 2026. It appears most changes comes to the type of pasta used in a dish, aspects around a dishes main focus and gelato/dessert flavors. Everything we ordered was an 8 or above out of 10. The beet salad (BARBABIETOLE) is easily 10/10 and a top 3 salad we have ever had. The chocolate cake with gelato (TORTINO DI CIOCCOLATO) was 10/10 and the best dessert we had at Da Andrea. We ordered 3 total, including the ricotta cheesecake and tiramisu. Tuna Tartare, gorgonzola pasta and bolognese are 9's. The fritto misto, the other pasta we ordered and the other 2 desserts are 8's. If you're in New York make reservations and go. My Wife found this place and made reservations. Only thing I regret after looking at additional photos is not ordering the grilled pork chop.

I only had a late lunch because I wasn't super hungry, but what I had was pretty tasty. Honestly, I was inspired to write this review for the salad lol. The INSALATA VERDE, was freaking incredible. UGH. So fresh and the flavors were perfect. I also got a pasta, CAVATELLI ALLO SCOGLIO, but sadly wasn't that into it. All of the flavors were good, I just think it didn't come together in a way that my taste buds enjoyed lol. But I can't say it was nasty, just not my vibe. Overall was a great visit, and a great location for a cute lunch in the city, especially if you're near the highline! Oh! And I can't forget the cute little welcome wine that they have in the elevator. It's only on the second floor, but it was a nice experience.

The salad had a unique, slightly bitter flavor that was unexpected but surprisingly delicious and well-balanced. My steak was the only disappointment. I ordered it medium, but it was cooked well done. Despite that, the quality of the food and overall experience were still very good. I didn't get a chance to try dessert, but the dessert menu looked incredible and definitely gave me a reason to come back. Overall, I enjoyed my meal and will definitely be returning.

The pasta was al dente perfection and most importantly there were generous sauce portions. Our waiter was attentive, friendly, and personable. I dined with a friend and we ordered 3 pastas instead of an appetizer (fantastic choice). We tried the following dishes: *Garganelli Mushroom Ragu and Ricotta Salata. This was by far our favorite dish. It was bursting with flavor, had tons of sauce and cheese and was perfectly cooked. If you enjoy mushroom you MUST order this!! *Tagliatelle Bolognese Bianco (Chicken, Veal, Pork) and Parmigiano. Which was so delicious and has plenty of meat and sauce. The tagliatelle was amazing and tasted to fresh. *Bucatini with Pancetta, Tomato, Chilies and Pecorino. We thought this was good but our least favorite dish of the 3. I read the reviews mostly good so I was hoping for the best. My friends and I were not disappointed. The first thing I noticed was there were 7 people in my party and 4 arrived early and did not have to wait for my arrival to be seated. Second the waiter who took our order was polite and on point with specials and knowledge of the menu. He (just never caught his name) suggested the Rigatoni which chicken and sausage. I am not really a pasta eater but baby that dish could change that; it was DELICIOUS. I even liked the anchovy dressing on my Caesar Salad and I dislike anchovies. All the dishes ordered (chicken parm, mussels chicken paillard etc.) everyone enjoyed them immensely. The only negative was when the Chicken Paiikard arrived it was supposed to a shared dish by the elderly couple and they asked for regular dinner plates from one of the servers. It took the gentleman who took our order to step in and said sure, lucky their food was still hot. Common Sense is not so common for all. But this will not lower my rating as it was taken care of swiftly. The portions were the perfect size and I was not stuffed but pleasantly satified.
