After getting picked up from the airport my brother and I hit this place up on our way out of the city. I was told the place has been around since the 50s and would end of closing shop in the hear future due to planned widening of the roadway. We were the only ones up to the window, around 4pm, but a couple others showed up after us. The young ladies (am I allowed to refer to them as such in this "woke" part of the country?) behind the windows were friendly enough, even commenting positively that my brother's shoes matched his jacket (LMAO). Ordered the double cheeseburger and fries with a coke on the side. The prices were reasonable / cheaper than the average place, but you get what you pay for - small, thin, patties and some type of American cheese on a bun. The fries were semi-limp, but okay. The burger also tasted just okay, nothing that shouted out that I needed to stop here on the way back to the airport in a week. I read that their shakes and malts are very good, but I did not sample one of those to give a verdict. Maybe next time, if there is a next time, I will sample one of those. I would eat here again, as a quick (no pun intended) stop to fill a void. Of course, that is, if the place is still standing when I do. But, I would not go out of my way to go back. read more

I made my way down to the pick and quick before they closed on Friday. I got my self deluxe cheeseburger and then double cheeseburger and some French fries and we got root beer milkshake but it turned in too root beer float which is totally fine because they were so busy and it was small place but the people who work there love what they and are so very sweet too there customers and look like it all work together very well. The cheeseburger burger are popping with flavor and deliciousness with how warm they are the sauce on the burger and the cheese melted just right it so good it make my mouth water. The only thing I do wish is the fries were little bigger and little bit more salted. Once your ordered you food there is nice seating area outside filled picnic tables and then there a wall of sunflower that are soooo tall and beautiful it makes the area brighten up even more. This place was not quick, but it was good. Fries were excellent - a bit greasy, yes, but fresh cut and super crispy. We also got a couple of cheeseburgers with all the fixins, and shared a blackberry shake. We liked the burgers, these are the small old fashioned griddled/smashed kind, nicely seared with onion and tomato and some kind of PNW style remoulade or "special sauce". The shake was delicious, full of actual blackberry not just flavoring. Despite being a walk up counter along Hwy 99, the dining area was delightful - nice lawn, clean picnic tables, lots of flowers, plenty of shade. We had a nice little picnic. I've been going to pick - Quick for over 50 years and its always been pretty good, I recently went there and I was disappointed, The buns grilled very little, meat not seared two small slices of tomato, two pieces of small pickle slices, little onions and not much sauce. We've been going to Pick Quick for years almost weekly and absolutely loved it. However, we stopped in a few weeks ago on a Sunday and didn't know that the owner had sold it. We thought it was strange that we didn't recognize any of the employees and while we were waiting for our order there was at least 4 other people who came up to the window and complained about missing and or incorrect items in their orders or a rude employee arguing with a customer about giving him ketchup, really unusual there. When we got our order we were very disappointed. The meat patties were burnt and they all three had burnt black pieces of cheese folded up over the tops of them, the tomatoes were small, mushy and over ripe, the whole burger tasted nothing like a Pick Quick cheeseburger. The fries are completely different now too, very drab and plain more like store brand frozen fries. Out in the picnic area almost every table was dirty and the garbage cans were all full, it's never looked like that with the old owner, he took a lot of pride in that place. That said, I almost always against the fries and pick up an order of the chili Fritos with cheese and onions instead ($3). It's salty, meaty, and just sleazy enough to make it an ideal side dish. Finally, they make up one hell of a milkshake. I've been meaning to drop by for a while. Ordered a triple cheeseburger plus bacon and an order of fries. It was much smaller than I anticipated. Although this is a busy place, I think some patrons stop in because it's a novelty place. It's CASH only here! You stand outdoors to place your order and they assign you a number. On a non rainy day it would be okay. It' s not an indoor eating establishment. You either eat in your car, take it home or wherever, or sit at one of their outdoor tables. The food is made to order. Patties are very thin and total meat weight is 3/4 lb for a triple. No lettuce was given yet they consider it a deluxe which I guess their deluxe is not my idea of deluxe. Oh well! It had mayo, relish, pickles, raw onion, cheese and added bacon. That was it on a medium sized sesame seed bun. The cheese was processed American..if that's what it was. Nothing to write home about. If you want ketchup or mustard you will have to ask for it. The fries were thin and just okay. Not crispy but definitely seems home sliced. Not much salt which is okay. Oil seemed fresh. I'm a good judge of old cooking oil. To be honest...for $10.12 (not including a drink) I would rather go to 5 Guys. Just a cool novelty spot is all. Noisy from being right off hwy 99 and Alexander. Port Trucks, commercial and passenger cars don't exactly make it a place to feel relaxed, but you can eat outside if you want to inhale the pollution. I did! I'm still alive. Best burgers in Fife, hands down. Phew! I don't have to pick between Pick Quick and anywhere else really... My kids say they like Pick Quick even more than Little Holland - with its ambiance, it's definitely a kid/family place! Basic burgers done right - and dang cheap! $2.35 for a regular burger...and the most expensive burger is the triple cheeseburger for $4.60. A large shake is only $3.00, they have 15 flavors and they are very good. What can I add that I haven't seen covered yet? Chili Fritos! Only 3 bucks - if you like this sort of thing (which I very much do) you will not be disappointed. Also - they have Green River - WOOO! Let's hear it for Pick Quick - still giving us a NW classic! First, their burgers are well made, but small freshly cooked and part of the reason for the long wait. Secondly, it's a bit chaotic when you approach their window as many folks will be standing around and the line consist of new orders + pick ups intermingled. Many folks huddle around and DO NOT adhere to 6ft social distancing so it is highly recommended to place your order and hang out in your car while you wait 30min for your order. Good luck if you are ordering for a small family as it will likely take even longer. Folks huddle around the pick up window due to the person working the counter is so soft spoken. The real drag is the cashier incorrectly wrote the order #s on the bag causing mass confusion in the kitchen. Things happen and looks like I caught them on a bad day as far as service goes. What seems standard is their MO for mixed lines, tag & bag followed by slow turn around. Lastly, their menu is simple hence the name however, the amount of time it takes them to turn food/orders around is quite the drag. It took 30min for them to crank out a double bacon cheeseburger, regular fries and Oreo shake. The burger was absolutely delicious, the fries were mediocre (frozen, soggy and and the shake (only available in M or L) was good. VERDICT: I would recommend catching them on an "off-time" either before or after the lunch rush and be prepared to suffer in silence (especially if you are hungry) if you find yourself caught in the jam. What a great little gem! After a meeting in Tacoma I asked my client if he had any tasty local lunch recommendations and he sent us here. Two days ago, I found myself driving to the airport three hours early and hoping to beat the traffic. Luckily, I missed most of it but, then again, what does one do to pass the time? Eat, of course. Don't ask me where this place is, because I have no idea. Generally, I'd place it west (left side) of the freeway (if you're driving north) and south on Old 99. The small Pick Quick burger shack will be a few miles down the road on your left. We finally arrived at Pick Quick at about 4:30. The line was fairly small and the wait was equally short, considering that they do not prepare your food in a microwave. I ordered a double cheeseburger, small french fry and a blackberry milkshake. After receiving our food, we found a nice picnic-like table located behind the establishment. The neatly trimmed lawn and flowered landscape makes for a very pleasant eating environment. First off, after inspecting my cheeseburger, I noticed that they included rather large selections of tomato and onion. I loathe tomatoes and immediately dispatched of mine. But, suffice to say, the rest of the burger was great! Not too big, not too small, and cooked and prepared exceptionally well. The fries, however, looked like they had been overcooked, but after trying one I couldn't stop eating them. By appearance standards, they look unappetizing. I was completely flumoxed after discovering that these fries were actually very good. The milkshake, on the other hand, was way too thick for my preference and I was way too full to make an attempt at finishing it. Nevertheless, this joint is a definite must. The prices are great.
