There was one person in front of us and 2 people behind - after ordering cheese sticks and Cinnasticks, we sat down and waited. After 10 minutes and 3 orders that had been placed after us being picked up, we were a little concerned, but we understand stuff happens! After 23 minutes and 5 orders being placed and picked up.... We finally decided to say something. Upon approaching the counter, we were told that they'd just remake them and they didn't know what happened. We said well what happened to the originals, to that they has no response. The one guy disappeared into the crowd of the other guys and whispering to them, I'm assuming trying to figure out how to rectify the situation, but then we heard nothing until one other guy came up to us and said "the cinna sticks & cheese sticks? The guy handling the making of the pies was friendly and cheerful. He did seem surprised that my boyfriend and I were new, and gave us a quick run down of how the operation worked. After glancing at the menu, I asked which pizzas were most popular. He launched into the favorites, splitting them between "most women order.." and "most men order..." I ordered the pie five high five, which apparently is a popular man pizza. He was quick to point out I must be feeling manly. Hmph. Anyway, it's fast food pizza. Pretty cool concept here- its like Quizno's/Subway meets a personal pizza shop. Pick up the toppings menu or check out their specialty menu board and choose one of their unique creations. Each pizza has a choice of pan or thin crust, four different cheeses, three different sauces, and then more toppings than you can wrap your mind around. I settled for a specialty creation of their Chipotle Chicken pizza served on their thin crust. A blend of sauteed peppers, chicken, spices, and onion. After taking a few minutes to pass through the overn, and then they threw some freshly torn basil and parmesan cheese on top. Added in a water since I had to leave for work in just a few, but in additional to a soda fountain, there's a decent selection of beers, microbrews (mostly Rahr), and some wine that you can order in accompaniment to your meal. Sat down to eat and enjoyed that they have several TVS posted and very entertaining wall decor. The pizza was pretty good, too. Clearly fresh, the flavor of the marinated peppers was outstanding and the texture was just perfect. Too many times I find that thin crust will break apart and become a mess, but this one was the right balance of thickness and crispiness. I am weary of new pizza chains popping up around my stomping grounds because I feel like DFW is a region where you really need to know where to get your pies, lest you fall victim into mediocrity--not to say that the convenience and location of a pie eatery are to be taken for granted. But, this new chain, though local, does not serve much of a purpose over Domino's or Pizza Hut. First and foremost, the fact that it is a "build-your-own" type of bar, where you watch them put your pizza together, does not benefit it as much as it should. Specifically, you watch them give your pizza a few shakes to distribute the cheese. But, you also must observe the ingredients than top your pizza. I went with a vegetarian, and the 2 pepper "mix" of green and red bells were old, nearly stale. The mushrooms were chewy. Essentially, the $6.49 per pie you pay just covers the labor cost, as the produce does not give any sort of upper leg to these round meals over a corporate choice. Alas, if you are driving up and down West 7th and are hankering for a personal pizza, then Pie Five will not necessarily be a "high five", but it will suffice for fast-food-esque grub. Endless combination for $7 - price isn't too bad (good for the area). Service is quick and they were very polite even though I almost forgot to pay. The bad: Like Subway, you can have endless combinations of ingredients (except at no extra charge). You can add meat and veggies to the point where it isn't really a pizza anymore, but the quality still isn't there. I agree that it is fresher than other fast food pizza chains, but that doesn't say much. I expected a lot more from reading other reviews. Don't get me wrong, I do like choosing my toppings on pizzas beyond the classics. But there is only so much you can do to keep a pizza unique without having clashing flavors or just a pile of toppings (imo). Okay the best part that really got me was the fact that you can choose spicy marinara sauce ! If you know me then you know this is a MAJOR KEY to success! I never had Pie Five until I moved here and I really like it! I go to medical school right down the street from this location so I love an excuse to take a library break to grab some quick grub here. It's pretty affordable for unlimited toppings and the pizza is quite tasty. I also love how they give out punch cards! (if they don't ask you if you have one... demand to get one!! they are so worth it, I am almost ready to get a free pie soon... which may not necessarily be the best for my physique, but that's alright). The service is pretty good and you get your pizza pretty fast - I've never had to wait very long to get my pizza so it's great to get to go if you're in a rush! This is my favorite place on Mondays. Can't beat $5.55 for a custom pizza. Line always moves fast, decent quality, if you go around lunch prepare to wait as it's normal for this location. Never had any issues with the food. Yes, get the magic dust. Only things I can complain. Sometimes, they run out of certain ingredients, sometimes the person making the pizza doesn't know what the ingredients are. Please raise the glass, by the desserts items like the brownies those seem to be exposed, and I don't know if I want to try them due to that. Great place! It is what they say, a subway for pizza with fresher ingredients. I have been to both locations, 7th street and the one North Fort Worth in Alliance shopping center. Prefer 7th street one, just because of location. Very allergy friendly here! Gluten-free pizza will be served in pizza box regardless if your eating there or taking it to-go due to trace of wheat on pizza pan sheets. Vegans also have the option of three different types of crust here: the artisan, gluten free and whole wheat crust are all vegan friendly! This place earned an extra star just for that. Fellow vegans be sure to tell them no cheese once you pick your crust and sauce because they tend to do it out of habit. At both locations, the service was great. No complaints there! I was actually asked if I wanted the gloves to be changed beforehand to make my pizza (at the 7th street location, very considerate). I order the Farmers Market on gluten-free, Tuscan marinara with extra veggies. They have great topping selections with no added pricing. The food is good but this location has some of the most disrespectful staff I've encountered. I waited a long time to write this because I tried to give them the benefit of the doubt but they consistently give rude responses with no prompting. To be more specific, several times now my SO and I have placed online orders and every time we come in (after waiting til the app says to go) they have not even started them. When we said we would go wait in the car the woman working sneered "yeah you go do that" which caught us off guard since we weren't even that upset. The last time we came we wanted to make sure they were making my order vegan & a different woman was saying she was following the receipt and then when handing our order to us was explaining to the trainee that you include the receipt so if the customer tries to say they ordered something but it wasn't on the note they were covered. I didn't think anything of this at first but the tone was odd as if she was referring to our concern over it being vegan, which again unnecessary and petty.
