Great thin crust pizza. Pretty solid burger I just wish the bread was toasted more. My wife loved their workshop salad and the chocolate cake. Only thing holding them back from 5 stars is their prices. They are charging downtown NYC prices for average ingredients. That said, their crust is pretty tasty. Worth a try. read more

Our family has been patrons of Pie Tap since they open the first location in the Design District. We enjoy going there for the Pie Nights with the family, or after the kids' soccer practices for all of the delicious meals.... however, Pie Tap laid an big egg during SuperBowl weekend. The $25 special for Pie and Wings was the worst meal from them ever, from this usually great establishment. The wings were cold and inedible. 5 chicken lollipops for $10? Really? I have previously eaten at Pie Tap at two other locations perhaps 7 times and always had a great dining experience. I was greatly disappointed at the Plano location. I ordered two pizzas: a pepperoni one and a sausage with meatballs one. I have never had such a THIN crust one completely devoid of pizza sauce and cheese. The sausage and meatball one also tasted terrible and looked like a dog threw up on a pizza pie. And to add insult to injury, the pizzas were totally cold when I picked them up on time. This place was recommended to us. I completely see why it was. The service was beyond amazing. Fonta, our waitress, was spectacular! The recommendations were amazing. The garlic knots were beyond compare. I could literally eat them every day. The dough was so light and you could tell how pure it was. They are very proud of their dough, and I can see why. The pizza was amazing too. Everything came out hot hot hot. Other wait staff event walked by and filled up my water cup if they noticed it half full. What a great delight! First off, the staff was beyond a typical staff! So friendly and helpful, plus gave us free samples to help us determine what to purchase. The pizza, WOW! What a treat. Finally got to try this place after weeks of advertisements on my Facebook feed. Was pleasantly surprised at both the atmosphere and the quality of the food. Our waitress was knowledgeable and explained both the drink menu and the food, going into detail about the hand-made dough. We had the garlic knots, which came in 4s, with the couple that went with us, and split a meat pizza between the two of us. I only give four stars because I think the pricing is a little high for the portions provided, especially the appetizers. I got the lunch bird, a house rotisseried chicken on top of homemade cauliflower mash, sauteed broccolini/mushrooms and some kind of beautifully accompanied sauce. My girlfriend got the second lunch special option, the half pizza half salad, she chose the half salami and half caesar. Both plates were more than enough food for a meal and both plates were phenomenal in flavor AND presentation. Darian gave wonderful and friendly service and was extremely knowledgeable about the menu and history/background of the restaurant. John greeted us at the front with a welcoming smile and also made sure to check and see how everything was. He seems to be on top of the restaurant while maintaining a great and positive attitude. I love Pie Tap's food and our waiter was really nice. Pizza and their brunch are great options + cheap mimosas but the drinks took forever to get to our table. For a refill of champagne for our mimosas it took 10-15 minutes and the restaurant had only a few other customers. But love this place overall. read more

We went back today and it was much better. For starters our server was very friendly and really tried hard to give us a great experience. We had the Pizza Florentine which is their brunch pizza. That was my first time to have a pizza with an egg on it, and we weren't sure if it would be any good but it really worked and it was great. The biscuit side and bacon took way longer than they should and came out quite a bit after the pizza but the waitress took the biscuit off our tab...wasn't that big a deal. This time the waitress gave us the option of printing the receipt for us to sign and write in the tip, or use the iPad. That's how it should be handled. I wish we had gotten the waitresses name because she was great. I think in about a month this place will be a five-star place. Also the waitress shared the new happy hour information with us which we really appreciated as well, and we will be going back this week to try it out. read more

We've been going to the one in the Design District and Knox Henderson and literally crave the fresh veggies, the bread , the chicken meatballs and of course the wine and pizza. The wines they have on tap are excellent! We've enjoyed having it in Plano recently. Today, we went there for brunch and it was a delightful experience. Brooke was our server...she was clever (told the best pirate jokes), friendly, Johnny on the spot. She even brought me a to go tea as I was walking out the door. If you go to Plano, ask for Brooke! There's this billboard that says it's the best pizza in some area. (Can't read it clearly because it's obscured by a tree). Anyway, I kept seeing the billboard and finally caved. The pizza was good. I had the Salami, which basically meant a bunch of cured meats. The meats were great, the cheese was good and the crust was delicious and very buttery. I think it's the olive oil. They had some dipping sauces all for 3 bucks each. Ranch made with ricotta cheese, marinara, and I can't remember the third. The bartender let me try the ranch and the marinara for free since it was my first time. The marinara was standard fare. The ranch was unbelievable. It had kind of a yogurt taste, and it had visible chives or green onions or something but it was really amazing. That said, I think they should either offer these for free, or 1 dollar. 3 bucks is kinda silly for a sauce item. I'd definitely go back. All the food looked fresh and well prepared.
