If rude staff, long waits, and nothing but cauliflower or GF crust is what your looking for - this is your place. Karen runs this show. Brought my son here for his birthday and after waiting in line for eternity we found out there was Zero regular dough. Ok. GF it is - which costs extra. Discount - ie pay the price for the actual product I want but you don't have? Karen says 'no'. Fine. Pizza comes - 2 of 4 cold. Cold veggies throughout, pretty unpleasant. They serve beer - I hope you like 50% foam so we had to bring that back, too. Trash bins overflowing, filthy tables. Not the best experience. TBH I can roll with inconveniences and understaffing - but cold pizza is the last straw for me. Definitely won't be back. read more

I've been to tons of different Pieology Pizzerias, but this location's customer service was phenomenal! From the moment we walked in, the entire staff had the warmest welcome and were all super friendly from start to finish! We were planning on only ordering two pizzas, but ended up ordering 4 due to the server letting us know about the current special occurring! The pizzas are always perfectly made; You can't go wrong with the price either. We came during lunch hours and it wasn't busy. There were plenty of seats available. I placed a large online order yesterday for pick up today and when I came to pick it up during the pickup time, I was completely taken aback by the rudeness I encountered. I was told, with a very bad attitude, that my order was not even close to being ready. The problem was the way I was spoken to which was in a completely rude and unprofessional manner. The girl (young brunette) said it was only her and the other guy working. I can completely understand being short staffed and not having the time needed for a large order, but that is of no fault of mine, the customer, so to be talked down to a treated as if this was my fault was completely unacceptable customer service. I asked to speak to the manager and she said that was herself. She criticized the company process. No names were put on the several pizzas I ordered, which I added online so that the names would be put on them so we'd know whose is whose. She blamed the receipt printer for that. She also blamed being busy, when there was one other customer in the restaurant. The order ended up being done 40 minutes after the pickup time. I believe some lessons in customer service are very much needed. Due to this experience I will not be ordering from here again. read more

So I come here at least once a month when I went there in November my pizza was great. Went over the past weekend and bought 3 pizzas for 41.00 and this pizza was supposed to be a half cheese and half meatball for my son. i also asked for the dollar extra cheese scoop. Well almost half this pizza was missing the cheese. I know that air bubbles happen but when the pizza oven worker has to ring up customers and watch the pizzas this was the result. they were short staffed I understand the challenges right now but the quality should not be compromised. read more

The concept behind a "make your own pizza" was so good that even my wife (who is not a real pizza fan) was sold on it... The place was roomy...it can accomodate a ton of people. And even when we came in a nighttime, the place looked bright, well lit! The staff were still in smiles, in spite of us coming in near to closing. Service was quite fast...and the price was very reasonable. My pizza tasted great. I added a couple of extra toppings to a standard fare they had for the same price, which I thought was cool! We've been coming here every Saturday for over a year. Tonight our pizza was horrible. The pizza didn't have enough toppings, and it had no taste. We were told the new managers are not allowing the workers to put much cheese or toppings on the pizzas anymore. We will no longer be eating here read more

Just came in to get a pizza. The staff was a bunch of teenage girls, which is fine, if you act professional. They were all gossiping amongst themselves and not answering our questions. The place was out of a lot of ingredients including ice. When I told one of the girls that she might want to tell customers that the ice is out when people buy drinks, she walked away from me. Welp, we went on a Friday night at 7:30 pm, the place was empty! (What does that tell you?). We were going to order 2 pizzas. Walked up young man behind counter gave us prompt service and started my daughter's order. He placed the sauce on not covering the pizza with about 2" of dry crust around. Then he sprinkled the tiniest amount of cheese I've ever seen on a pizza not even close to covering the sauce. My daughter ask politely if she could have a little more cheese. The young man stated we would be charged extra for a little more cheese. He said there were cameras on him and the owner would fire him if he gave more cheese. I asked for the manager. Another young man came out and reiterated the same as the first guy. My daughter really wanted a pizza so we continued. Would have been better just to walk out at that point. I let him know not covering the pizza with cheese is going to cost a lot more then the .20 cents it would have cost to sprinkle a tiny bit more and make a customer happy. I reduced my order from 2 to 1 pizza and let him know they lost a customer for life. The 3 workers were very nice but not concerned about customer satisfaction. There biggest concern was the cameras and not getting fired. Sooo, if this was the direction of ownership, congratulations you're workers did as directed. Blaze has zero up charges for anything extra you ask for including sides of ranch, pesto crust, or asking for a pinch of extra cheese. Go anywhere but here. I know I'll never be back. read more

Being the fast food. & chain restaurant junkie that I am I was chomping at the bit to visit Pieology as I had not crossed them off my list yet. I am a huge fan of the "Chipotle" style concept for pizza. We visited and the set up is like the other places that I have visited (Blaze 825, Blast, MOD) where you enter, glance at me menu, choose your sauce and toppings and into the oven it goes. The price is right as $8.49 gets you an 11" pizza that will fill you up. I ordered the pizza with Original Red Sauce topped with Canadian Bacon, Black Olive, Grape Tomato, Basil, Mozzarella & Parmesan. The pizza crust edge was fantastic. Great char and cracker thin. The toppings were very fresh. The sauce was a touch sweet but you really got a fresh tomato flavor as well. The thing that did not work so well for me is that the pizza was super "wet". When they were preparing my pie, before they applied the red sauce they brushed a ton of olive oil on the crust. I assumed the olive oil woul be applied either post bake or drizzled on but this was bathing it. I figured they knew what they were doing so I let it ride. The final product, except for the edges, was a wet mess that was hot. There are a lot of positives (cost, toppings, friendly staff, cleanliness) that will get me back in the building but I think next time I will hold the oil. read more

Customer Service provided by every employee is exceptional. Jason made our Pizzas. He was extremely courteous and patient. He was very polite and made the pizzas precisely to our requirement with a smile on his face. He also commented that if pizza was not made to our taste then it's not worth it. Jen delivered the pizza to our table very courteously with a smile and came twice to our table to inquire if we were doing ok. Jonathan Snyder the store manager also asked if we were doing ok. He was serving and making sure the guests were happy and enjoying the pizza. Over all a five star experience. Glad to have this store in our neighborhood. read more

My husband and I have come here twice already and we are hooked. When we're not in the mood to make our own pizza or we just don't have the time, we come here for our pizza fix. The assembly line style here is pretty quick. You can choose your pizza crust options (I.e. regular, whole wheat or gluten free) and add your toppings. They have several pizza options and choices that are on the menu which you can select OR you can just customize your own. I've done both but would have to say that I like customizing my own because you can make it however you like and add as much or as little as you like. The salads are good as well, I think we had a side salad at one point that was pretty large and we shared one while we both enjoyed our pizzas. Lots of seating options here as well. The customer service is pretty good and I am always impressed with how quick they get our orders in. Looking forward to coming back again. read more

The concept is easily a 4 star concept, but the experience in general is average mostly because of the ingredients. The pizza sauce is child bland to me, and that's a big deal in why I docked it down to 3 stars from 4 stars. By the way this is a great place to bring kids, rather bland red pizza sauce after all. There is a quite good pesto option for sauce and you can decide on things like just oil or so on. Be careful with the "watery" ingredients as the crust here is very thin, and as others have mentioned the pizza crust will not hold up to watery toppings (like tomatoes). Price wise it's very good and you can experiment here with all kinds of ingredients for your pizza or salad. The ingredient array is extensive. This is not a wood fired oven quality gourmet ingredient pizza like you might find at the Federalist in Sacramento, or better yet NYC. It's Chipotle for Pizza. For efficiency reasons they are using a gas oven but the temperature was up there at 540 degrees and with a very thin crust the pizza cooks very fast which is good if you are time bound for lunch. At $8.50 (no matter what) it is a good value compared to what other pizza places like to charge that often don't have the diversity of ingredients that Pieology has. All pizza's are personal pizzas. Comparing it against really good wood fired pizza places it clearly ranks at 3 stars, but comparing it against say Pizza Guys or Domino's this choice is so much better tasting and healthier for you. Hard to say, 3 stars, 4 stars, come in and try it. My main reason for giving them 3 stars is the meat choices are a bit lean, and the quality of those ingredients seem 3 star to me as with the red sauce as I mentioned. It's a great choice for a quick eat, and definitely well suited for children or anyone picky or adventurous on what they want to put on crust. As far as a salad joint, I would definitely think like LaBou's or Selland's or some other place that specializes in great salads, over this place. It's pizza here first. Oh and there are like 6 taps here so can grab a brew with your $8.50 masterpiece. read more

YASSSS!!! They finally opened a Pieology in Folsom, my prayers came true! I love love love this chain, and was pleasantly surprised at the new location! It has a cool feel to it, though it is set up a tiny bit different than the normal ones, it's very spacious with many tables! It's located in the same complex as Best Buy, Ulta and REI! The food was mad SO quickly in about 5 mins! The workers were really friendly and peppy! The food was delicious and totals around 9$ after tax for your personal pizza! I always get a pesto, Alfredo base and then I get onions, tomatoes, cilantro, olives, spicy premium chicken and spinach! It's delicious! Lastly I was really happy with the service because they brought my pizza out to the table I was waiting at (to go order) and then thy opened the box for me and asked if everything looked ok and if I was satisfied! The pizza here is good but I wish it was more consistent. We mainly get the margherita pizza from here- when it is done right, it is delicious with the thin crust, cheese, basil, and tomatoes. I would say 2 out of 3 times it is not done right- once it was overbaked (easy to do since it is thin but changes the texture to dry and crispy) and another time the crust took up half the pizza so very little toppings. I would avoid the "Ooey Gooey Garlic Cheese bread" too- no gooey at all, dry cheese without any garlic taste. Even my kids who love cheese pizza did not want to eat it. My 4 star rating for when their pizzas are done right. read more
