As a lover of Korean cuisine and a fan of fajitas, I was excited to try the Korean shrimp fajita at this restaurant. However, my enthusiasm quickly dwindled as I encountered disappointing service throughout my dining experience. Upon entering, the ambiance seemed promising, with lively decor and the aroma of sizzling dishes filling the air. Eager to try the specialty, I ordered the Korean shrimp fajita and clam chowder expecting a fusion of bold flavors and quality ingredients. Unfortunately, the service fell short of expectations. The establishment is self serving only. You have to beg for more tableware, napkins, plastic silverware, condiments and table coverings. The shrimp fajitas were pretty decent, had the traditional Korean-inspired seasoning however a bit too salty. The accompanying vegetables were limp and lacked freshness, detracting from the overall experience. In conclusion, while the concept of a Korean shrimp fajita holds promise, this restaurant's execution, coupled with subpar service, left much to be desired. So happy we finally found this place again, had no been here in a while. I believe it had closed down but fortunately it had just moved to the pier. Tastes as good as I remembered, the bread the sauce the shrimp and potatoes were all so amazing. It was around 45 for the medium sized shrimp fajitas and it was more than enough for two adults. I'll start with a caveat: this 3 star review has a slight boost based on two things: 1) Nostalgia, and 2) New experiences for my in-laws. Without that boost, I'd probably give this place 2 stars. As a Korean American, getting crabs on the Redondo Beach Pier was a staple growing up in Socal. I hadn't been in ~15 years, so when my in-laws were in town for Christmas, I wanted to take them to the pier to have a nice day at the beach, and eat some crab. It was exactly as I remembered it -- I'm pretty sure the tables, chairs, menus, and employees haven't changed since. The only thing that did change, was the crowds. The pier was fairly empty, and at lunchtime, we were one of 5 parties seated in the restaurant. We ordered 3 crabs, and 2 fish-n-chips (for the kids). Not to rave about; I'd say it wasn't bad, but wasn't the best crab or fish-n-chips either. One thing that you can't really get at a non-Korean crab house is the crab head rice: my in-laws thought this was unique and fun. With each crab, you'll get a bowl of rice, with a small container of sesame oil + gochujang. Mix that into the crab head (after scraping off the guts to mix into the rice), and enjoy. Amazing shrimp fajitas!! I used to come with my family all the time when the arcade used to be open and they are still incredibly delicious! If you get the fajitas I recommend spicy since it's not spicy all just flavorful!! Service is great, there is a super name older Asian lady that is always there working hard! The service was not that great, they also don't take Amex and when I tried to grab my drink, the lady took it back and said it must be scanned first and paid for. There's no utensils or napkins. Let's start off by ordering at the counter. The lady taking our order was rude, but I didn't know if it's just the way her language translates to English. She took our order including the drinks. I put my hand on my Gatorade to pull it towards me, and She pulled it back. She said "You not move until you pay!" Omg, I was like ugh trust me I can afford it, and she replied "well I don't know." Oh ok. My husband paid, we finally grab our drinks and she told me "go over there!" Holy freaking **** My husband saw my reaction and before I flipped out he told me "she's telling you there's a bottle opener on the wall" (for my daughters Jarito.) Thank God he explained because at that point I was gonna let her have it. We took our drinks, our paper plates, and utensils to sit down at a table. Our food came out after about ten minutes and right before she brings it, she points at the next table and tells us "go sit over there, I have to mop." Unbelievable! The food comes out. I ordered Clam Chowder and it was piping hot! Too hot to taste and I kept checking every few minutes. It took about 15 minutes and then it was decent but not worth ordering again. It was served in a bread bowl and most of its in the bread by now. There's pet much potatoes and fish left. My husband got the shrimp and potatoes. Those were tasty. It came with garlic bread that was good. My daughter ordered fried shrimp and fries. Nothing to come back for. It was ok. All in all I will not come back to this place again. We actually have a restaurant of our own and I would never talk to my customers the way that this lady talked to and treated us. 2nd, A Gatorade is certainly not worth the price of offending someone. It literally cost us less than a dollar for Gatorade. 3rd, mop everywhere around us but don't move us after you were already rude! Especially when we've been sitting there for 10 minutes and the food is finally coming out. Mop that little spot when your patrons leave. Last, when I was a kid Redondo Pier was alive, cleaner, and full of people. It's dead. Business looks like everyone left or went bankrupt. The boats looked like homeless boats. Came in for the shrimp fajitas, shrimp basket and fish and chips. You would think if you're at the pier you would get fresh fish but you wouldn't people to convince me that is was not frozen fish. Absolutely terrible. The rest of the food was just ok and the customer service here is terrible. When I came to pick up my order they tried to say I didn't pay for one of them so they wanted 12.95 more. Upon further inspection, they charged me 11.00 for soup I didn't not order. I've been here several times. It's a Korean run seafood resteraunt on the Redondo Beach Pier. Dining next to the bay windows shows a great water/beach view. Most popular items are the Hot Fish Soup and fresh crab. Be careful though, if you ask for anything stronger than medium heat on the Hot Fish Soup, be prepared to sweat! Also good is the fried clams and fries. Prices aren't too bad considering it's location. Try the Hite Beer with your meal; it's a light Korean beer. read more

i went to pier seafood on 6/21 and ordered the baked mussels. although the restaurant was not busy, the dish took longer to make than i thought was normal. i made a mental note for the future in case i decided to order this particular dish again, but this wasn't enough for me to be upset. in fact, i liked the dish so much that i went back the next day. this time, i anticipated a long wait - thinking baked mussels took longer to prepare - and wanting to give this restaurant the benefit of the doubt. there was one party of 2 ahead of me that ordered. then i (a party of one) ordered. and then a very large party of about 10 ppl ordered. and then another party of 2. that was it. there was one party of 4 or 5 that already had their order. after 30 minutes of waiting, where the first party of 2 was already eating, and the 2nd party of 2 (who ordered after me) got part of their order, i went up to ask how long my order was going to take. as i waited, the party of 10 got their order before me! while they were picking up their food, i was told it would be "a few more minutes." as EIGHT TRAYS OF FOOD came out - adding insult to injury, as i only ordered the mussels and clam chowder - i was finally told that the mustard sauce was "taking longer than normal to make" and that it would take eight more minutes before i got my order. unless u ran out of ingredients and had to go out and get more, how does a mustard sauce take "longer than normal to make?" since it was already going on 40 minutes of no food, and as the party of 10 that ordered after me was happily munching on their eight trays of food, i asked for a refund. i don't mind waiting, especially for something worth waiting for, but 40+ minutes is extreme for baked mussels. and then to be told that a sauce was taking longer than normal, only after the party of 10 got their 8 trays of food, is insulting. it sounds more like they were lying and just forgot about my order. i would have more respect for a place that admits this mistake and then works to make it right. even when processing the refund, they didn't deduct the soda that i got. yes, i consumed it, but i feel comping it would have been in good faith, considering the mistake they made. and actually, if that had happened, i might've considered giving them another chance. i support small business as much as i can, and during covid, actually ordered a lot from local restaurants. i understand the stress they are under. but they also have to consider the customer experience. a simple apology and admitting a mistake would've made a lot of difference and would not have necessarily lost them a customer in me. read more

My family and I have been coming to this place for years. I remember coming with my mom and now I take my kids. We always get the whole crab and Mae yoon tang (hot fish soup). We've had the fish and chips, baby octopus, whole shrimp, and sashimi too. My husband especially likes the king crab legs. Everything is always very good and consistent. When they are really busy the service can be a little slow but the women work really hard to do a good job. You get bibs and hammers to crack the crab yourself and it gets messy but that's part of the experience too. The only downside is mostly everyone who works there is Korean so it I can see how it might be hard to communicate with them if you don't speak the language. read more

Worst expensive meal I've had. This is not a classy, clean place by any means. It's a very bare bones low end wharf style joint run by Koreans and frequented by mostly Asians. The style and method of serving seems to be ok with them, which I understand, but it's not for me, and definitely not worth the price. The smell in the place is not great. The place is tough to find, too! There are several plaques on the building with different names on them, and under the plaque that actually says Pier Seaford the entry is locked. So you have to walk back around and actually enter under a different name. We were wandering around like idiots for a while. We paid 150 with tip for two guys and a girl. Got a small sashimi plate, a Dungeness crab, a spicy fish soup and a small plum wine. The sashimi was not much fish for the price, and a couple of the cuts were chewy and/or not tasty. Not cut right either. The soup was ok but it's just a mix of everything, not super appetizing. The thing that messed it up the most was the crab that they threw on the table with all the innards and just quartered it up. If you know the smell of Dungeness innards, you don't really want that on your table when you're trying to eat a meal. They don't give you a knife or anything, just plastic utensils and wooden mallets, so it's pretty much impossible to clean off the crap. The people at my table were slightly disgusted. I can make the same crab for a third of the price at home, and will serve it in a much more appetizing fashion. If at least the prices were reasonable the place would be ok, but if I'm gonna pay a good chunk of change I expect a civilized dining experience. read more

VERY GOOD. parking : sometimes its free but sometimes you gotta pay. Food: the best on redondo. Always eat fresh oyster, crab, and sweet shrimp and finale with spicy seafood soup.
