Shrimp basket, spicy soup, garlic beard and shrimp fajitas.

We enjoyed our meal here. Same place as before they just moved location. My family and I have been eating here for years. Much better view of the water. Customer service was excellent. Great experience would definitely recommend.

I'll start with a caveat: this 3 star review has a slight boost based on two things: 1) Nostalgia, and 2) New experiences for my in-laws. Without that boost, I'd probably give this place 2 stars. As a Korean American, getting crabs on the Redondo Beach Pier was a staple growing up in Socal. I hadn't been in ~15 years, so when my in-laws were in town for Christmas, I wanted to take them to the pier to have a nice day at the beach, and eat some crab. It was exactly as I remembered it -- I'm pretty sure the tables, chairs, menus, and employees haven't changed since. The only thing that did change, was the crowds. The pier was fairly empty, and at lunchtime, we were one of 5 parties seated in the restaurant. We ordered 3 crabs, and 2 fish-n-chips (for the kids). Not to rave about; I'd say it wasn't bad, but wasn't the best crab or fish-n-chips either. One thing that you can't really get at a non-Korean crab house is the crab head rice: my in-laws thought this was unique and fun. With each crab, you'll get a bowl of rice, with a small container of sesame oil + gochujang. Mix that into the crab head (after scraping off the guts to mix into the rice), and enjoy. Probably my favorite part of the experience.

The service was not that great, they also don't take Amex and when I tried to grab my drink, the lady took it back and said it must be scanned first and paid for. There's no utensils or napkins. The food was alright but it tasted about the same as the rest of the pier stands serving the same thing.

Supposedly "grilled" fish tacos.

Seeing the Fish & Chips was a shock as it is nothing like the pics shown in the menu inside the restaurant. The fish seems from frozen and we couldn't do more than one bite each. It all went in the trash. Chips was undercooked, soggy. The Coleslaw salad is a sad joke. Shame on us for being local and falling in a tourist trap

Hot Fish Soup!

I've been here several times. It's a Korean run seafood resteraunt on the Redondo Beach Pier. Dining next to the bay windows shows a great water/beach view. Most popular items are the Hot Fish Soup and fresh crab. Be careful though, if you ask for anything stronger than medium heat on the Hot Fish Soup, be prepared to sweat! Also good is the fried clams and fries. Prices aren't too bad considering it's location. Try the Hite Beer with your meal; it's a light Korean beer.

Fried Oysters, OH YES!

My favorite spot! I keep having a craving for the FRIED OYSTERS! Even though I keep seeing people hammering on their crabs, I still love the FRIED OYSTERS! They can hammer that crab all they want but, I'm here just for the ONCE again... FRIED OYSTERS! Got to ask for that cocktail sauce though ;) hehehe, they won't give to you, u must ask! I'm happy here with my FRIED OYSTERS and COCKTAIL SAUCE! I will be back, back, BACK!!!

This is a So Cal staple when it comes to fresh seafood…read more There is almost always a long line, but not a long wait....that's when you know it's good. We ordered everything but the kitchen sink.....the shrimp ceviche, the shrimp cocktail, the fish and chips, the clam chowder, the garlic bread and to me the star of the show was the delicious popcorn shrimp deep fried to perfection....they had my Coke Zero on hand and that bumped it up to a 10 out of 10 for us. We will 100% be back!

So if smells like a tourist trap, barks like a tourist trap, and appears like a tourist trap. Then…read moreit's probably is! Look I would've given this place 3 stars, but the customer service and wait time was ridiculous. Hear me out, this is my experience from last Saturday. So first it can be challenging to find this place, since the pier has so many level to it. Look for the elevators. When you get there, for the first time, you see a main line, well for what? Then you see other lines, well for what? Then you see an oyster line, oh. In order to determine what each line is for, you have to do independent research. From whom? Well the employee, who do not show case any form of customer service. There were so many people lost and confused. To break it down, each "Order Here" has their own area of what can be ordered by the pound and/or cooked. So not all lines are equal. There is a crab line, seafood boil/pre-seasoned seafood, oyster, clams, I think I saw fish and fried platters, which was the longest. So after much deliberation, an employee managed to wrangle the customers to form a line. Although his mannerism seems like I'm just done with this place. One might consider ropes to further avoid these mundane confusions... I got Ana's seafood boil mix, $99. It came with a lobster, dungeoness crab, peeled shrimp, clams, sausage and potatoes. The employee told me about 10 mins. I'm like okaaaay, only 10? I walked to their souvenir shop, nothing crazy or must haves. Just cheap Chinese things with their name printed on. I return in 10 minutes. The guy doing prepping/expediting the pick order was in a frantic state. Older white male, white mustache. He was running around, mixing orders up, couldn't even tell what customers had what. The employee that wrangling folks came to help him collect himself. So 10 minutes wait turns to 15, 20, then 30 minutes. I had 2 other employees check up on my order, they said it's not ready. Okay. Finally about 35 minutes it's ready. He didn't even call out my order, I had to wave my ticket. The first rule of speed of service, never over sell the time. If it's gonnabe 30 mins plus, say 40 mins, gimme a bs reason, short handed, etc, I don't care! But why would you tell me it'll be 10 mins?! So finally got the food. Flavor was pretty good. Lobster, was okay. I wished the shrimp had the head on. Clams were big. Sausage was good. Potato seemed like the diced ones from a can, they were so small. The crab, however, is the driest. Yep, for a place that exclaims "Quality Seafood," it was kind've of a let down. They taste like the bottom batch of the crab at Las Vegas buffet. You know the batch that sits on the bottom, they don't ever rotate because the employees don't care. So it's just marinating in its own dry filth. The crab was so dry I could put that in an Advil bottle instead of cotton. So now if you ask me, would I come back? Maybe, just maybe. Anytime soon? Nah, not right now. Also with the mention of a tourist trap, it's no different than Seattle's Pike Place and surroundings.

I've been there every single weekend for the past 2 months. I cannot speak highly enough of this place. Once I went next door to Ryla and was SO disappointed at their staff (made me feel like a burden), the food was SO mid, and it's not conducive to meeting people. It doesn't even look like a restaurant, just a building. We both arrived late, due to the parking situation, but she called and let the restaurant know we were going to be late. We both walked in a little after 10AM on Saturday. The gentleman asked us where we wanted to sit. He walked us to the main dining area, and I chose the first booth on the right. Perfect table. We ordered cocktails first. I ordered the Surfside. Pretty, delicious, and refreshing! The sliver of cucumber and yellow flower strategically placed. We ordered the spicy hummus and rosemary focaccia to start. Our waiter, Samson, also brought us an appetizer. Both were absolutely scrumptious. All the bread is homemade in the restaurant. The focaccia bread was soft and moist. Perfectly paired with the hummus. The appetizer was a light, flaky crust around cheese. My girlfriend had to order another one to go. For brunch, I ordered the Atta Girl Breakfast, which includes eggs, potatoes, 2 pieces of fried cheese, a pita, and small side of yogurt, sliced cucumber, grape tomatoes, and dill. So good. It's a modern take on Mediterranean food. Afterwards, we ordered the donut (holes) for dessert, which was also delicious. Fresh. Samson added a lighted candle in it for the birthday girl. Service was exceptional. He is well versed in the cocktail list and menu. Great recommendations. Parking: Good luck! That was why both of us were late to our reservation. We both had to drive around multiple times before we found parking. There are many metered parking spaces down the street and small parking lots on the side streets, but the weekends get busy in Hermosa Beach.

We started with the ceviche in Clamato with pieces of crab and avocado served with a delicious tortilla chips. I absolutely loved the flavor profile and couldn't get enough of the Clamato sauce. Then we moved to the weekend only special sea urchin, which Stephanie's parents personally bring down from Santa Barbara for weekend service. I'm usually indifferent at best to sea urchin, but this was excellent Then we shared the Jonah Crab Fusilli, another winner. I was driving, but hubby ordered a banhattan and it was another winner. They also have some beer and wine options as well as a full bar. Though very full by this point, just couldn't resist the pretzel bread pudding. The bread portion was crispy on the outside and warm and soft on the inside with a delicious salty caramel sauce. Served with a very smooth and delectable scoop of ice cream. There's indoor and outdoor seating. If you want to sit inside best to make a reservation. We did not have reservations, but were lucky to get outside seating. Service was fluid with different people coming around to ensure everything was tidy. Really enjoyed one of the staff, a young girl who cleared our table and delivered some of the dishes. Loved her chill surferish vibes.

Definitely suited our sensibilities to be close to the heart of this treasure, plus it can get cold out there! When our friendly and helpful server learned that we'd never been to FwD before, we were both treated a tasty amuse, a Peruvian scallop, one of their specialties. Served chilled, absolute heaven. Simple, fresh, delicious, and very pretty atop its shell. We ordered an appetizer, a different scallop dish, Pan Seared Diver Scallops. (Parsnip-potato puree, brown butter ponzu, capers). So good. Succulent, perfectly cooked and devilishly satisfying with its rich, savory flavor. We enjoyed the one dish that have been on their menu since the beginning, Koshihikari Rice. (short-grain Japanese rice, overnight chicken dashi, shrimp, uni, blue crab, cage-free egg yolk.) Wow. So much happening here, and yet it's a complete package. All the ingredients meld together sumptuously. It akin to Paella, or perhaps to a stuffed Risotto, although the Koshihikari Rice was very much its own dish. The server swerved and mixed the egg yolk on our plate, and we loved it. Our strategy to try a number of dishes and yet still have room for dessert worked. Many great choices, and I doubt we'd be disappointed with anything. However, we had heard from the table next to use that the key-lime pie was must. Happily, they were right. This Key Lime Pie is just sweet and just tart enough. Though I am not Key Lime Pie expert, this one struck me as imaginative with its meringue colony crowding the pie's surface for additional dessert debauchery. There nothing overwhelmingly citrusy about it, and it was light enough to help you feel satisfied and just right. The coffee was good, too. This is a low-key yet lovely dining experience in Manhattan Beach.

He made us feel completely at home from the moment we sat down. His recommendations were spot on, he was attentive without ever being intrusive, and when my girlfriend got a little chilly on the patio, he even brought her a blanket without us having to ask.
