    Hawaiian pizza

This is a great local mom-and-pop-owned restaurant. It's been in Pasadena for years and is a part of the community. I like coming to places like this because it seems like it's a restaurant that was trapped in history and time. Overall, the food was great, and it feels like it was freshly made. The pizza dough was well seasoned and had that airy taste to it. I could tell the food was made with heart and love. The parmesan chicken was delicious. The meat was tender and juicy. The marinara sauce had the right amount of sweetness. The fresh bread was nicely toasted.

Nice little family owned place, staff is super nice and helpful. Place is kinda old, old tables and chairs, but good for a quick bite We come here for the sandwiches, good deal, 13 bucks, good size, not huge but not small. Ingredients are good, not great, but the bread, that is why we come here, the sesame roll, great bite, chew, slight sour. You can get anything inside, turkey, pastrami, what ever, the bread makes it. If you in the mood for a hearty sandwich, check it out. Dragon egg approved.

The pizza 2 mos. ago. This one tasted much better !!! Maybe it is who prepares it. In how it turns out :)

Hi , Went tonite , ordered same pizza i had ordered about 2 mos. ago. But this time they did the crust really thin !!! I do not like this pizza crust , i had assumed they make it just like they did 2 mos. ago ( regular size pizza crust ) but guess u have to request it. I didn't have to last time tho. But i think it was a different chef then tonite. The pizza was good but not great like 2 mos. ago. Definitely tell them how u want ur crust ( and yes they will probably charge extra ) which i feel they shouldn't , msybe for extra cheese or whatever , but not the crust. Usually i get the Italian hoagie which i love.

The sandwich was delicious with fresh ingredients and the bread was perfect. I had the Hoggie. The service was excellent too.

    Meatball sandwich

This was my first time here, and I was very impressed with the meatball sandwich. The meatball itself is soft, meaty, juicy, and full of flavor. The sauce is savory and meaty, and thick; I loved it. The bun was crunchy on the outside and very soft inside and covered with toasted sesame seeds. The service was friendly when I picked up the sandwich; it's a family run business and I believe the daughter rang me up. They appear to be genuinely nice. The place itself is small, cute, and cozy. It's a no frills interior. The fries are seasoned fries (previously frozen), and they're tasty, crunchy, and the seasoning is savory but not overpowering. You still taste the potato which I like. Overall, a great spot for a meatball sandwich.

    Turkey and ham sub

I was craving a turkey and ham sandwich and this place did not disappoint. Sub hit the spot , it was so good and best of all the man at the counter was so courteous and helpful and sweet . The woman that brought us our subs to the table was also so kind ! Definitely recommend .

    three slices of bread!

roma market was closed early for new year's eve, so I popped into pietro's for a sandwich. the hot hoagie was great. smooshed down by the hot press, it was a nicely balanced sandwich. sometimes you want a mountain of meat with the bread acting ceremoniously as a wrap, but it's really nice to get a sandwich where the bread contributes equally. all that to say, the toasted sesame loaf made me v happy and it was interesting that they make it with three slices of bread. the sesame taste comes through so well that it reminded me of having sesame jianbing. as of this post, $9ish for a small (6 in) and $12 for a large (12 in). no clue why someone would get the small... I personally couldn't afford it. would come back and would recommend to someone if they were in the area and wanted a sandwich. plenty of parking.

The staff were attentive and bless them for being available for my birthday tonight and it was a late evening so an hour left to make food prior to closing so grateful for making themselves available. Noted there were only 2-4 tables filled while the rest is empty and cleaned up for the next day. I felt the food that was presented was rushed and not plated well and food overall was salty especially the fish and the duck breast as main entrees. Just the plating of the beet salad to the squid ink with lobster just seems off. The charred octopus didn't taste that fresh and was definitely chewy. The pork chop was done nicely as well as the pork meatball and KAMPACHI crudo. I felt the past visits were much memorable and tasty but tonight just felt off with the staff and the chef items that was plated to us. The staff did offer to redo the fish or any item but it was late and I didn't want to trouble the staff late into the evening. The olive oil bread cake was delicious and grateful for a grand bday dinner. Definitely heed our suggestions and hope things work well with the restaurant in the future.

We started with melon and prosciutto - the melon was so sweet! Then we shared a Cesar salad - good portion size for 3 people. Our waiter offered us a taste of two wines - we ended up choosing the Chianti which was delicious! My friend had scampi linguini with sun-dried tomatoes and rapini. Husband had My Brothers Jerry's Tortelloni -veal and chicken tortellini. I had pasta carbonara - the noodles were amazingly tender and the taste was spot on. Probably the best pasta that we've ever had! Finished up with a coconut cake with a drizzle of raspberry sauce. Plenty of parking in the lot. Outdoor tables were shaded. It was a pretty warm day so we opted to sit indoors. Really old school ambiance. Service was very efficient. Pricing was fair and portion sizes are excellent and could be easily shared between 2 people. We each had leftovers. Highly recommend dining here!

We had a reservation so we were seated right away on the second floor, just above the bar. The music was a little on the loud side so conversation was a little strained. The food was absolutely amazing. Our server was very friendly and informative but was not quite as attentive as we would expect for an establishment like this. This was our first time here, so we had to try the Asparagus Fries. The asparagus was cooked to perfection but the batter did not have much flavor. Members of our party ordered the California Salad, a Veggie Burger, the Meatloaf and a Picante Pizza. The California Salad was smaller than expected but delicious. The Veggie Burger was excellent! The Meatloaf was the hit of the table. It was so good that my wife did not offer a taste to any of us. She was in food Heaven. The pizza was exactly as described and tasted wonderful. Since we were celebrating my birthday, our server brought me a delicious piece of double chocolate cake with a candle in it. Nice touch!! We also had one of their Warm Butter Cake's with some excellent vanilla ice cream on top. Absolutely wonderful!. This may be our new "go-to" place. Looking forward to return to savor the other items on the menu. Their drinks looked delicious as well, so we will definitely try those too.

We visited this restaurant at the beginning of Dine LA for lunch ($35)…read more When we arrived, the door was locked and had to be let in by the staff though there were at least 5 other parties dining there. I thought that was a bit odd, but I guess it was to detract from unwelcomed guests (i.e. homless people)? Anyhow, we were seated right away and sat by the window which was nice! We were given the menus, but I had to specifically ask for the DineLA menu which I also thought was a bit odd since it seemed like they wanted us to order off their regular menu. Perhaps this was just an oversight. For starters, we ordered 1 of each that was offered: Ceviche Carretillero - Refreshing and brought me back to time spent in Peru! I preferred this option Salpicon - This was also refreshing and reminded me of chicken salad mix in a bowl though not sure I would order it without it being a part of a prix fixe. For the main course, we ordered: Saltado Salad - This had minimal protein and was not so satisfying when compared to a traditional lomo saltado, but the protein that was there was yummy. Aji Gallina - I really was excited to see this on their menu since I love this dish so much and don't see it offered too often at Peruvian restaurants. Though the sauce was good, the chicken was VERY dry and hard to chew (overcooked) so it took a while to finish this. In lieu of desserts, they offered Maracuya (passion fruit) and Chicha Morada (purple corn) juices which were yummy but the star of the show was their sangria which was delicious especially on a hot day. My only complaint about the sangria was that we were charged for 3 carafes when we only got 2. Once we identified this, we brought it up and just went ahead and enjoyed the 3rd one since we had already settled the bill. That being said, always double check your receipt!
