Stopped in for a quick bite during an afternoon out and about. The menu has a variety of options for any palate. The staff were very attentive, and made for a great dining experience. The chicken sandwich I ordered came with the option of regular or dipped in their "hot sauce". I opted to have the sauce on the side and was glad I did, because it allowed me to temper the heat. I have to say the onion rings were some of the better I had. They came with house-made ranch, and were perfectly cooked. Saturday afternoon, late lunch with the ladies at this fairly new establishment. Our server Jillian was gracious and friendly, the food good, and the outdoor patio area spacious. The day was hot, so appreciated that our table had a large umbrella. But, as the earth continued to rotate on its axis in its orbit 'round the sun, no one took issue with us moving to another nearby table providing us with better shade. With that preoccupation behind us, we could better enjoy our conversation and focus on our food and drinks, which consisted of: - Ceviche Tostadas - Stone Fruit Caprese - TVF Green Salad (w/steak) - Pulled Pork Sandwich - Onion Rings (these were killer!) - Champagne - Lemon Drop (by request, sans sucre on the rim) We all enjoyed our well-presented, tasty meals, and agreed that, with so many other intriguing menu items to choose from we'll be back; but, next time will make it a point to leave room for dessert. read more

We always try out new places on our long drive to my hometown, and this was a great stop! The burger was fresh and juicy-- a delicious mess. The onion rings were crispy perfection. My boyfriend had the fried chicken sandwich with fries and loved it. He ate it so quickly that I didn't get a bite! The bar is a really cool vibe. Our only complaint is that they did not have a regular IPA on-hand. We had considered going to one of the popular burger places in SLO, and I'm so glad that we didn't! Overall, this is a good spot that has a creative menu and nice atmosphere but I don't think we'd return for brunch. The breakfast items at brunch weren't that impressive for the price point. Our next visit would more likely be for drinks and dinner or lunch. Service: The host was kind and ensured to seat us in an area that would accommodate us well for having a baby with us. The server was hard working and polite. The food was a bit slow to come out and they seemed short staffed as it appeared our server had the whole outdoor patio to cover so I think it was understandable and hopefully not their norm. Food: The fennel chicken Caesar was so good! Loved that they got creative with what can normally be a very simple salad and added fennel to it. The flavors worked very well. I'd definitely order that again the next time I go. The ham and cheese danish was so unique that I'm not sure if I liked it or not. It wasn't bad but it had so many strong contrasting flavors that it was a little overwhelming to the palate. My husband ordered the pancake stack which was very plain. To the restaurant's credit he didn't read the menu very carefully because otherwise it was clear that it's just pancakes. The pancake stack came with nothing but butter and syrup despite being $15. He was expecting it to have eggs or some berries or something more to it. I'd expect that too for $15 pancakes. All in all I think there are some very creative elements in the menu and I'd be intrigued to try more before writing this spot off. I don't think we'll be back for brunch though as the breakfast items we got weren't very good for the price. Drinks: We didn't order any drinks but I wish we did. The cocktail menu looks very good here! Ambiance: We loved the layout of the restaurant, the design, and the music! We wanted their playlist as it was everything we love listening to. Soooooo delicious. Farm to table. Everything is good but we love the burger, burrata, and the chimmichuri steak!!!! I'm a huge foodie and this fits the bill. I could eat the burrata dish everyday. Service could be better though. I don't like waiting to be asked if the food tastes good because a lot of times I need more sauces with my food. I feel like the staff needs to be a lot more attentive. Last time I had to ask for ketchup 3 different times before she brought it. Maybe it's because of a staffing issues. read more

Came here for dinner on Sunday. We had to take our two little boys since our babysitter was sick last minute. The outdoor patio was perfect. Our waiter and the hostess were both amazing and the hostess especially was so good with the boys and so accommodating. The loaded fries were fabulous (still thinking about them) and my honey thought his sandwich was really good! The MVP were those desserts tho. Wow! We only really eat out once a week but this place was a winner. With or without kids it's perfect. Hope to go back very soon. Would recommend to anyone. read more

I don't usually post about things but very disappointed in Pig Iron, I've only been there once and it was years ago so I figured since they had a Cinco De Mayo special for $2 tacos we'd give it another try, but nope still disappointed and won't be going back. First off they fucked up on their flyer for $2 tacos for Cinco De Mayo, and said no they're $3 and that it was an error on their flyer, it's the principal of it and they should have honored their mistake on that since it was the whole reason we went there and second we were sitting in the bar and the bartender wouldn't come out from behind the bar to actually serve us our drinks but would just leave it on the bar top, the lack of service there was enough for me not to want to go back, food was ok, should of known not to go to have gone to a Mexican restaurant though on Cinco De Mayo read more

Made a reservation, came in had to wait almost 10 minutes before anyone noticed I was there. Sat right at the window which was like being a store display.. my waitress came to my table a total of 3 times. Once to take my order, once to bring my bill and once to run my card.. I didn't receive the drink I ordered when my food came out. The food was good, potions somewhat small. Mac and cheese was good but the cheese was just melted over the top and not mixed with the noodles at all.. so I guess if you want to feel like your on display while eating a meal and like to be left alone with no service this place could be for you.. Terrible experience due to the kitchen. The servers were pleasant and the food was good. It went wrong when we were served an extremely undercooked chicken sandwich. We kindly and quietly brought it to the server's attention. He returned to let us know that the chef said it would be another 20 minutes to make another one and asked if we still wanted it - yes of course we wanted it, as it was the only meal we ordered aside from a couple starters. We were told they would remove the meal from our tab and offered us a free dessert to take home, to which I thanked the server and said that was gracious. Even though 20 minutes sounded pretty extreme and our toddler was getting extremely tired and anxious, we agreed to wait. 20 minutes passed, then 30, then 40... when I finally decided to ask another server for ours because we hadn't seen him but once during that time. He ran to the kitchen and immediately came back with our meal to go. How long had it been sitting there?? When the bill was presented we asked about the free dessert and the server just stood there with a blank face. Needless to say, we didn't get dessert to take home. We paid $75 for two starters and a beer... and a cold chicken sandwich to take home that was supposedly free. read more

Just got home from having dinner for the first time.i had the tri-tip torta. It was very good. Very tasty. And French fries. They cut them like scallop potatoes but smaller size.
