It's another local speakeasy here in Desert Ridge. The ambiance is a bit bright for this style of bar and the stools at bar I found to be really uncomfortable. And I have to says I was not impressed with the drinks or the service. After we ordered our drinks we had to wait a good 10 to 15 minutes before we got them. Plus add on the high cost of drink that makes an uncomfortable experience. Not sure I'll be coming back here again anytime soon unfortunately. read more

We finally made it in to pigtails. Usually we're next door at whining pig but decided to get cocktails this time. Our party of 4 was seated pretty quickly and the staff was all so nice. I don't recall what we ordered but every cocktail was delicious and so unique! The place is really cool and would be fun for date night or celebrating something fun. Update because apparently this place has gotten worse! Came back because I thought it would be a cool place to take my sister for her 21st birthday and the bartenders are so rude! Decided to give it a second chance and was treated no better, even by different employees. I dont understand why bartenders here have such poor attitudes! They gave her hastle about being served and we are all servers and know the laws. The atmosphere and cool decor are not at all worth coming in and being treated like a burden. read more

With Pigtail's dining room just next to the Whining Pig, it's less of a hidden "speakeasy" then we expected, but still a fun spot none the less. With that being said, it was nice to have a drink next store while we waited for our table at Pigtails. The dim lighting and plant lined wall makes for a fun atmosphere once inside. Very creative cocktail menu, we thoroughly enjoyed our selections and even had some fun letting the bartenders create new ones for us to try based off our flavor pallets. The coolest hidden gem at Desert Ridge! I've been a handful of times and has a blast each time. They have really good cocktails (one time the bartender doled out an experimental drink he was working on that was very strong and fruity, it was amazing). They have games like "that's what she said" and "cards against humanity" that are great conversation starters and comfy sitting areas that have a very VIP feel. Last but not least, the speakeasy wouldn't be complete without a secret exit! Let's hope you can find it, but if not, have another drink and enjoy the greenest wall you'll ever see. read more

This dark and alluring bar is so laid back and makes you feel like you are in another place. The leather booths and large bar area makes this a great place to come and grab a drink and relax. The vibe in here is super cool! It's hidden downstairs and you ah w to walk through whining pig to get in the spot. They have couches and a big bar. They have "happy hour" till 7 but the happy hour prices aren't happy hour prices. The signature cocktails are still $8-10 and the "happy hour wine" is $10. We didn't get any food because it didn't really sound good and was overpriced. The cocktails I had were so tart that I felt like I was sucking on a lemon. Came here with some friends who were in town visiting, we love speakeasies (did I spell that right?), and it didn't disappoint. The place is in the back of the whining pig, and apparently has a replica restaurant downtown as well. It's a chill vibe with some raw seafood selections and craft cocktails on the menu. I had an old-fashioned, my go to (I'm boring like that with my cocktails), but it was amazing. Some old fashioneds these days are just over priced shots of whiskey, but whoever made this one truly knew how to make a good one. The Demerara syrup along with the orange and cherry combo were all perfectly portioned. Alright, enough about that, the other drinks were all really good too! This wasn't a bar that threw drinks together and poured them in nice glasses to call them "Craft Cocktails", they actually took pride in their drinks and ingredients and it absolutely showed. (Take the elevator down, head into Whining Pig past the bar on the left towards the pink Pigtails sign, take the hallway to the right, and follow the sounds of the Glass Animals playlist) What I don't like is that it's really really open. Sure, it's dimly lit, but it doesn't give off that sexy, dark corner feeling that I love in a speakeasy. This is where you go with a group of friends who you want to impress before moving on to the next spot. Which is fine, just not what I wanted. That being said, the cocktails were better than fine. We have tried a good selection of the menu at this point and haven't had a single bad one. We were sitting at a booth (with an extremely low table?) during a recent visit and our server rarely came by to check on us, which meant empty water glasses and fewer drinks ordered. The whole area has a nice vibe to socialize in and hang out in. It wasn't super loud on a Friday when I went which is nice. It would be nice to check it out if friends come to visit. I really like the speakeasy feel of this place. The dark decor and cool basement feel seems just right. So many drinks that I had to google the ingredients to made for interesting perusing. The music was a little questionable when I arrived...it started with annoying top 40 mess but thankfully turned a little better by the time I left. As a speakeasy I feel the music definitely needs to be different than what was in The Whining Pig. Two separate places two different feels deserve different music. The atmosphere of Pigtails seems a little darker in mood and tone and the music should reflect that. But over all I really enjoyed Pigtails and I will certainly go again!! read more

I am like many of the other reviewers - reluctant to speak of this place for fear that everyone will be in love with it as I am - but I find myself compelled to post. The bartenders are adorbs. The ambiance is swell. The drinks are lovingly concocted and the makers very prideful about their origins. As well they should be. Advice??
