Really underwhelming. The decor and build out of the space look great and I really appreciated the unique soda offerings, however, the BBQ was not up to par. I ordered the Pulled Pork sandwich, mac and cheese and a watermelon lemonade and honestly, didn't enjoy any of it. The pulled pork was flavorless even after adding additional sauce, the mac and cheese had zero flavor and felt watery. Lastly, the watermelon lemonade had a very strange, sour but too sweet taste that was very off-putting. I was very excited to try this place after reading up on it in the local press, but left disappointed and with $16 less in my pocket. Will consider trying again to see if something else on the menu is better. read more

Over priced. Very loud music, noisy and they CHARGE for tap water. This menu is minimal but in the most painful way. Brisket priced at 10.50 per 1/2 lb, but I couldn't get less than that. Sure this place just opened, but these weren't things that are "oh they just opened cut them some slack" situations. The seating situation also makes for problems because if you want to eat in, you order first before sitting, and may not be able to get a seat after ordering. Additionally, none of the people handing food in the front end were wearing gloves. *edit* It was brought to my attention that this place cooks all free range, and local animals and such. I am glad that I finally tried this BBQ Restaurant tonight. I live in Tarrytown and usually go to same restaurants but I also the like to try new places. I like BBQ but I had not found a place that I like until tonight. The Pik Nik has most of the things that I like when I go to a restaurant; great food, service and atmosphere. My family has lived in Westchester for more than 20 years and this is hands down the most excited we've ever been about a restaurant in the area. Whenever I'm in town now I make sure to squeeze in a trip here. The food is out of this world. I've ordered the gumbo, the big belly Cuban, and the sloppy brisket sandwich and they were all superb. Not to mention THE SIDES: the Mac & cheese, the cornbread, the kale and apple salad, the list goes on. My mom is a vegetarian and still has more than enough choices, which is rare at a BBQ place. I've gone here many times for the smoked barbecue chicken, baby back ribs and great homemade sides. But last Sunday Alabama husband got his favorite--fried catfish. I barely put it down and it was gone. I also got the usual chicken and ribs, but also got the brisket chili. OMG. They hit the mark on every dish my girlfriend and I had, particularly the pulled pork sandwich and catfish po'boy. Both were delicious and about on par with what you would expect from a good barbecue place. The only real miss was the special which was a brisket taco with grapes and pineapple; it was one of the blandest dishes I've ever had and we could not even bring ourselves to finish 1 taco from the set. I was surprised when asked how you like the brisket and I ordered in between which means you get the lean and the fat. It was amazing. The brisket was a bit over charred but it was still great. I cant give 5 stars. The food is good but they can't manage how many orders they get. Every time I call in to order I am put on hold for 10-15 minutes. I've hung up twice the last two times I tried to order and went elsewhere. They need an online ordering system and better time management. The food is never ready on time and the place is extremely tight which is a recipe for disaster. The only reason I don't eat here more is because it's such a hassle and I'm considering this being my last time for a very long time. They need to employ some people who know what they are doing. Prices used to be much better a couple years ago but after covid they kaboomed them. I used to be able to get a rack of ribs with two sides and cornbread for 30 bucks. Now it's 42???? Hassan and Kahlil have outdone themselves. You'll see from the date that I'm writing this during the Covid-19 Pandemic - just as NY is moving to phase one reopening. I called Pik Nik BBQ to order myself a brisket sandwich for dinner. I was about 20 minutes away when I ordered and when I arrived my sandwich was almost ready (it was dinnertime and there were orders ahead of mine). Here's the thing: Just before my order came out Kahlil came out and said "here, this is a bucket of our newest recipe fried chicken. take it, *for free*, try it out and let us know what you think". A few minutes later my sandwich was ready. After eating my sandwich I got in the car, with the chicken, and drove 2 hours up to the Berkshires. I shared the chicken with my friends here. Everyone agrees - this fried chicken is freaking AWESOME! It's DELICIOUS. I don't think I will ever eat any other fried chicken going forward when I'm craving fried chicken. Great work PIK NIK! This place came as a surprise during my Thanksgiving weekend trip to Tarrytown/Sleepy Hollow. After a two- hour evening walking tour in nearby Sleepy Hollow Cemetery on Saturday my boyfriend and I were famished. Since it was also raining, we wanted something quick, affordable and most importantly, fulfilling. We took an Uber and arrived at Main St in less than 10 minutes and dashed in. This place was similar to a Gastropub, and although it was small, the food made up for its size. We wanted to try everything that was recommended on Yelp so we went for their platter special: 3 meats+ 2 sides. We had the beef brisket, the chicken, and the short ribs with mac and cheese and French fries. We also had a Jarritio soda and a Sprite soda (Mexican bottle). The wait wasn't long and everything was brought out to us on a wooden platter. The beef briskets were tender and the chicken and short ribs were "fall off the bone" delectable. On a scale of 1-10 we would rate this a solid 10 and the entire meal only cost us a total around $46, including tip. If there are any future trips for us to come back and visit, we would drop by again for dinner. read more

Most of the barbecue was dry. The short ribs were quite good but the rest of the meat was disappointing. Our kids typically love wings, but they left more than half uneaten. They were tough and dry. Sides were fine, but nothing to write home about. read more

This is unquestionably the best BBQ in Westchester County. The parking is tricky half the time, and it's a little on the expensive side for lunch(what bbq isn't) But you will not find better BBQ in the area. I've been here twice now, and both times they have delivered high quality, and well prepared food. Very friendly and competent employees, and cool decor. The second time I got from here we did takeout, and the food traveled very well. Everything was still hot and fresh... Even the fries, which blew me away. That's such a rare thing. OMG! I loved this place. Situated on the busy Main Street in Tarrytown, this trendy little restaurant is worth the effort of driving 30 plus minutes to get to. I had the catfish sandwich, which was to die for and my husband and daughter shared the ribs. The rub on the ribs was excellent, although the ribs themselves could have been more tender. The man behind the counter was very welcoming and friendly, not to mention patient while we [slowly] made decisions and offered us samples of different sides- the celery root apple slaw was so good! This is my second time eating here. They are hands down not only the best BBQ place in Westchester but probably arguably in New York. The brisket is phenomenal. The Mac and cheese is ridiculously good. The service is fast and friendly. It is a small cozy place but if you come early it shouldn't be an issue with space.
