The Crab Cakes Bernaise were tasty the added poached egg was prepared perfectly all nestled on a fresh spring salad. The history of this family restaurant is reminiscent by all the photos of the family displayed on the walls. Very interesting providing some dinner conversations. We have been hesitant to come here because I though it was sort of a seafood supply company. But it's not! The reviews brought me in finally and I'll tell you, the inside is much nicer that the signage makes it out to be. And the food is fantastic! I was looking for som seafood in the area and a friend suggested this place. I figured I may as well check it out. The crusted Haddock and asparagus! Yummmm! Coming back to this place. The only thing I would suggest is better professional signs and play some music to make the atmosphere a bit more warming. It has a cafeteria feel to it but don't let that put you off. I've been looking forward to trying this place. I absolutely love Cajun food. I went on Fat Tuesday. I was greeted nicely by I believe the female owner and she took my order. Super nice. I ordered the boiled crawfish and etouffee. I thought the crawfish would be in a seasoned bag like LA Crawfish or Surfing Crab. So they weren't as seasoned as I was expecting. The etouffee had great flavor to it but the consistency was different for me. Kind of mushy but I kept eating cause the flavor was good. Nice and clean place. Glad I tried it out. read more

1st time to eat at this Restaurant. The service was very prompt and courteous. I order the seafood platter with fresh boiled and fried, shrimp, fried catfish, fries, beans, and seafood gumbo and white rice. The gumbo and rice arrived first, and I thought I was back in Louisiana with the first taste. The gumbo was hot and the roux was amazing. The seafood platter arrived about 5 mins later the entire plate was fresh and hot. The shrimp and catfish was amazing as well were the beans and fries. Prices were very inexpensive and reasonable. I do not recommend. I ate shrimp and got sick from it. I asked for shrimp without butter but using olive oil as they only have vegetable oil. Alligator appetizer had no flavor and little rubbery. My husband got sick from it as he said it tasted little funny. My mom ordered salmon and it had bones in it. We will not be coming back. read more

We all ordered the fried shrimp. It came with ties and hush puppies. The shrimp was down well and was good. The fries were okay and the hush puppies were not great. This is a place where you come in and seat yourself and a waitress comes and takes your order. You pay at the end at the counter. Tried LaFours for the 1st time this evening. Fast and friendly service, and our food was excellent. We tried the grilled shrimp and grits, and parmesean crusted haddock. My gosh...the grits! Will definitely be coming back to try more of their authentic Louisiana cuisine! read more

Had the Gumbo and it didn't disappoint! Their Shrimp Poboy has authentic NOLA French bread. The only place in central Texas that wasn't on a Sysco Hogie Roll trying to pass as a real shrimp poor boy. Boudin balls were delicious as well. Ended with beignets...delicious!! read more

The food was very good. The serving size was just about right. What I ordered did NOT have huge servings, but more healthy-sized. The interior decor seemed rather sparse to me. Lots of hard-surfaces contributed to what I felt was a noisy atmosphere. If they could add some background recorded music, it might help that?? Maybe some greenery/plants and more art on the walls? We decided to check out the new seafood place in Boerne. The decor is a little bland but typical for a family catfish/seafood place. We're from Mississippi and we have these all over and it reminds us a lot of home. I had the seafood platter and my wife and daughter just had the Catfish. It was all WONDERFUL!! The fried Shrimp was GREAT and I'm not a big shrimp guy, the boiled shrimp was the same, wonderful and perfectly seasoned. The catfish was excellent as well. Could have been a little more catfish on the seafood platter, but I was still STUFFED!! HIGHLY RECOMMEND IT!!!!! read more

It's pretty loud with conversations bouncing off the walls and if there's background music, you can't hear it, but If you're looking for a good old Seafood style platter with a touch of Louisiana flavor, look no farther, and make sure you try the Voodoo fries, they're amazing. read more

I ordered the grilled shrimp with rice & grilled zucchini. The rice was very watery, no flavor. The shrimp was ok, but very small and the zucchini was ok, but not very much of it. For $19 I expected a lot more. My husband ordered the grilled shrimp piquant. Grilled shrimp over rice with a spicy creole sauce. It was so nice to be reunited with old friends. Our family has eaten at LA Fours since they opened in '83. The food has always stayed the same because the family has grown and they have kept the recipes from their mom and dad and probably from further back. God bless this family owned business. I had lunch here today. I will say that my shrimp dinner was very delicious! Fries and hush puppies were hot and our meal came out very fast. I was hoping to find a lunch entree of a whitefish like perhaps cod- but all they had was catfish and salmon. The servers were attentive and polite. My only complaint was that the tartar sauce was literally a cup of mayonnaise with NO seasoning - no relish or onion and zero flavor, and the cocktail sauce was a cup of ketchup with NO horseradish whatsoever. How can you mess up cocktail or tartar sauce? Overall our meal was great and no complaints about service other than what appeared to be the owner and the entire waitstaff and servers all bunched up at the host stand together talking and ignoring the dining room. I ordered to go, Thursday's crab cake special, shrimp cocktail & side of hush puppies. Everything was delicious! I order crab cakes whenever they are on the menu at a restaurant. These were very good, with just a hint of creole seasonings, not overpowering, crispy outside & nice portion of crab inside. These are a nice size, too. I've had some that are so small, it's hardly enough to remember how it tasted. Very tasty! Came with a perfectly poached egg on top! Yum! On mixed greens, a generous serving. The only thing I would suggest is a side of sauce/dressing. The hush puppies are so good, nice little kick of spice, perfect crisp! Shrimp were on the smaller size, however they made up for that by offering a very generous serving. Cocktail sauce was delish! My first time here& I can't wait to try more menu items! Welcome to Boerne! Also, the restaurant is a really cute spot, you would never know from the outside. We recently got takeout at La Fours. We literally had to throw the entire $140 order away. The gumbo was ok until I realized it had shrimp and the shrimp was what the mush was. The crawfish enchiladas were somewhat edible but so bland and chewy. The crawfish étouffée was beyond disappointing. The entire thing was mush and the rice was even mushier. Tried to add some spice as it tasted beyond bland but it didn't help. The hush puppies and boudin balls were tolerable but bland and over cooked. My son ate his fried catfish but he said he had never tasted catfish with no spice. I told him not to eat it but he was super hungry and just coated it with sauce. He ended up in the bathroom sick later. The Beignets were way overcooked and rubbery. Then the fried alligator was all rubber. Literally like trying to eat a rubberband! I just couldn't believe how bad everything was. I called to talk to a manager and spoke to an older person. She said she would refund the order. Never said sorry or if something was off that day. I was ok with that and figured if they were refunding the order then there was no need to review. My fiancé went in yesterday and she gave him $60 of the $140. I was fine with them keeping the takeout tip. I called and asked what happened as we ended up throwing it all away. She said she wasn't refunding the items I said were ok. I'm sorry but we will not be going back. I just couldn't believe how bad everything was! I only wish I had taken photos to show! read more
